Buon Gusto in Harrogate

We met at Buon Gusto for our Supporting Older People Dining Out Club. There was 15 of us and I cannot thank the staff enough for serving wonderful, delicious food with fantastic service. Every dish was tasty and beautifully presented. The service was prompt and Buon Gusto could not do enough to make the occasion special. Thank you - we will be back.

Authentic Italian that offers vegan cheese for the stone baked pizza so we will definitely go back next time in Harrogate

We had tried to get in over the road but 8:15pm and door firmly closed , their loss my gain. Was treating parents to a break for a few days and first night here didn’t want to roam too far from the hotel. Happened upon this absloute gem! Lovely place , very welcoming staff and nothing was a problem. Great seat in the window. Drinks were perfect and food was just ridiculously good , to the point Mother said “ best she’s ever had” and I tend to agree. We ate like kings. Please , if in Harrogate , and you like your Italian food how it should be , this is the place to go. Bill seemed better than fair ( may have missed something off but not checked yet) and left a nice well deserved tip.

Took my wife and parents here while visiting Harrogate as we fancied an Italian (pizza/pasta). We had a very enjoyable meal of Bruschetta, garlic mushrooms, garlic dough balls, Calzone pizzas and Arrabbiata. We ordered the recommended bottle of Malbec, it was OK but we didn’t think it was worth the £40 price. The staff were friendly, polite and accommodating. Would recommend!

Visited for the first time tonight and found the reception, staff and ambience perfect for me and the food delightful. Can't wait to return.

A dinner at Buon Gusto feels like a little gateway to Italy. This is a REAL Italian restaurant not your chains with real Italians and real Italian food. The experience felt so romantic in the cosy and beautiful atmosphere, the staff were wonderful. And let’s not forget the food was 5 star. The tiramisu was literally cosmic and the best I’ve ever had!!

It is impossible to find fault with anything regarding our dining experience at the Buon Gusto. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The food was excellent — we had the chicken parmigiana and chicken in a mushroom and white wine sauce, and both were very tasty and cooked to perfection. The desserts of chocolate fudge cake and lime & lemon cheesecake were delicious too. We would definitely go back there to dine if we visit Harrogate again.

Visited this restaurant to celebrate my birthday - a spontaneous, decision so didn’t have a booking. 9pm on a busy Saturday night and they found us a cosy table for two. The place was busy, alive with chatter and laughter. The staff, although busy - still had time to be friendly and polite. There’s an authentic Italian vibe going on too with the staff - feels like a family run restaurant. The food orders were taken quickly; the menu is really comprehensive and caters for all tastes. ‘Man sized’ portions for both starters and main courses. Absolutely delicious tasting, fresh and authentic Italian feeling. Simply devine mozzarella and buffalo tomato and olive bread starters followed by the tastiest risottos we’ve ever eaten. Fresh ingredients, colourful on the plate and cooked to perfection. Absolutely no complaints. Would definitely go there again. If (like me) you’re a small eater, ask for a smaller portion - I hated leaving any as it was just too good, but I literally couldn’t move.

We have been there a few times and the staff is always friendly and the food delicious. The spaghetti with meatballs and lasagna were very tasty. The chef prepared a lovely pasta dish for our toddler, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Definitely our favourite Italian in town 😊

We had an amazing dinner here last night, pate to start, I had ravioli and my partner had chicken ala crem pasta both absolutely gorgeous. Really friendly service too - will definitely come again when visiting Harrogate :)

Good early bird fixed price menu. Still same as last year but the prices have jumped. They do a good job feeding lots of people quickly.

Service was amazing, waiter super friendly and attentive. We went on a Saturday night, restaurant was busy but foot arrived really good . Food was amazing, recommended with Buon gusto risotto !! Will definitely return again!!

Authentic Italian restaurant with old school owner, waiters and chef who are actually speaking Italian (and English obviously) but know the local area history also. Please note that my bill price was 2 courses and also included 2 large house wines, ie good value. Open kitchen. Old school chef. Great wine selection, display and ambience, Italian music playing. A real taste of Italy in HG1. Respectable prices; top notch place and food. Great Arincini nicely presented, delicious Americano pizza large size and served with a smile who also offered pepper and chilli oil to to add.

This place will never fail to impress me. I have been coming for years and every visit creates a better experience. Great service, beautiful surroundings and food to die for. We had couple of starters and prawns were just perfect. Followed by fillet steak and 1.2kg tomahawk steak recommended by the owner. We both could not praise their chef enough. Thank you Boun Gusto x

Lively authentic atmosphere food was amazing good portion size probably didn't need extra garlic bread but ate it anyway ...delicious ...would highly recommend

On a weekend break, we had booked in advance due to earlier reviews. We were not disappointed. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed, warmly and enthusiastically. Service was friendly and efficient. The choice on the menu was really good, especially the meat free options, but nothing prepared us for the food. The starters were quickly served and cooked to perfection and the mains were outstanding. I don't think I have ever enjoyed Italian food this much (and I love Italian food). Thank you Buon Gusto, I'm just sad that I don't live in Harrogate!

After our last visit we enjoyed it so much we thought we would try it again, and we weren’t let down. The food was amazing again and the service was just as good , it was busy and it gave a really good atmosphere. We will definitely be back and enjoy a lovely evening like we had every time .

We had a lovely meal and experience at this lovely Italian and were given a table right in the front window. We’ve visited Harrogate for years and eaten at many of the restaurants around Buon Gusto but somehow never been there. We will definitely be returning 👍🤗.

Best Italian restaurant in harrogate

Not been in for a while but was as good maybe better than we remember the manager recognised us on arrival which was a nice tough food and service was spot on everybody commented on how much they enjoyed the meals there was a nice atmosphere in the room we will definitely be back very soon.

As soon as we walked into the restaurant the staff were very welcoming and it felt like a really good environment. Also, when we were seated the manager came and greeted us and made sure we had a good night. The food was amazing and is definitely a top hit for Harrogate itself. Will make sure to come more often 100%!

What an amazing experience went in on a cold windy night was lovely and warm on entering food was outstanding as well as was the service. We will definitely be back very soon.

Went with my pals for dinner on a very busy Saturday night. Had antipasto and garlic pizza bread to share. Mains calzone and special pizza all were spot in. Will definitely recommend this place

Booked a table for 7.30. On arriving were told the table wasn't ready and would be at least 10 minutes. No apology for this or offer of a drink while we waited. Eventually got seated and our order was taken. After waiting for 45 minutes the food eventually came out. Throughout the meal we were not asked if everything was to our liking (the food was great although the bruscetta was given to us rather than the garlic bread we ordered) or offered any other drinks. Our waitress was obviously not in the best mood and not in love with her job that night. To be honest we felt really disappointed by the whole experience after reading the reviews and expecting better things.

While in Harrogate for a couple of days we wanted to eat at an Italian restaurant and we were pleased to find Buon Gusto. The restaurant is traditional Italian with a lovely atmosphere. Great menu, wonderful food and excellent service. We would definitely visit often if we lived nearby.

My husband & I visited Harrogate, we found this lovely little place.(5.1.2024) We had the best meal. The staff made us feel so welcome, the place was so popular but the waiters & waitress still took time out to chat. Would highly recommend if visiting Harrogate. 🥰

Stopped here on the off chance hoping they’d be serving food at 4pm, luckily for us they serve food all day! Perfectly cooked pizzas and sides with excellent, quick service with fair prices for the area! Definitely worth a visit! Thank you ☺️

I wish I could write 2 reviews. My partner and I went last week. They described their seafood langine dish as 'the best they have ever had'. I tasted it also and it was fantastic. Unfortunately I can not say the same. I had chicken escalopes with Parma ham . With something which looked like melted butter. And 'chips'. Which to be fair it stated on the menu but I did not realise it until too late. It was at best tasteless. I would order again. But It would be my partners. The service if I'm honest was over the top. But again it's personal choice and to be fair a lot of people would appreciate. We found it uncomfortable. I would for my meal mark it as a 2 . My partner a 5 . Average 3.5. As we can not give half marks. I have rounded it up to 4.

Harrogate’s hidden little diamond. Visited this restaurant for my birthday and loved every minute of it. We had pizza bread for starters with olives, balsamic vinegar, olive oil and a selection of bread. The pizza bread was fresh and tasted really good. Mains was pasta with meatballs. The offering was very generous. Very tasty. Steak was unreal. Cooked perfectly (medium) and the peppercorn sauce really complimented this along with the chips. I have to compliment the chef. Even the chips were lovely and crispy. Staff were very friendly. Met the owner and had a really good chat, laughing throughout our visit. Cost was very reasonable at £88 plus tips considering we were eating in Harrogate. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED We will definitely return on our next visit to Harrogate. Thank you 🙏

Difficult to find restaurants in Harrogate open on a Tuesday night but we were delighted to find this one. Very welcoming, family run restaurant. Very good food, excellent service and great atmosphere. Don't miss this place if you're visiting Harrogate. Thoroughly recommended.

Visited Harrogate for a concert, looking for somewhere to eat before concert, Harrogate has a great choice of restaurants we stumbled across this place and what a find, service and food was first class would highly recommend Buon Gusto, reasonably priced for such quality service and food.

Excellent food - too much for us! The atmosphere was chatty and relaxed. Great service and reasonably priced. All in all, a wonderful evening.

Sunday lunch with family at buon gusto was special. Kids really loved it. They shared calamari pizza and pasta. After that they had their favourite vanilla ice cream. We both had filet steak was cooked to perfection. Well done buon gusto for looking after us....

Walked in at 6.15pm on a Saturday night and luckily we were able to be seated. The food was delicious. Very fresh and tasty. The service was great and the staff all very friendly. Would recommend.

We had selections from the evening theatre set menu. Basic Italian dishes maybe, however they were tasty, hot, plentiful and service was attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

We booked a Saturday hoping for a romantic date night, unfortunately we were seated just next to the kitchen pass in a brightly lit and poorly decorated corner. The staff were not attentive like we were hoping based on other reviews but were timely and polite. The food was average at best, we ordered the salt and rosemary focaccia as part of our starter but it turned up as a crispy pizza like bread. The veal main was beaten so thin and smothered in bacon that I couldn't taste the veal at all. We were planning on staying for a while drinking more wine and ordering dessert however due to the uncomfortable seating situation and not even being asked if we would like more wine or dessert we decided to leave. I have never left a bad restaurant review in my life but after sleeping on it and considering the largely great reviews I wanted to share my experience.

Slightly worse than average lasagna. King prawn linguini was good. Manager wasn’t interested in feedback even though he asked if we had enjoyed our food. Prices on website menu were out of date and lower than restaurant menu. Again manager wasn’t interested in our feedback.
