Stumbling upon this Vietnamese heaven in London was a tip-off from a savvy London insider perched high in the Shard, and oh, what a find it was! The menu was a treasure trove of ingeniously crafted traditional dishes, each a symphony of savoury delights that danced on the taste buds. The staff couldn't do enough for you, blending warmth with impeccable service. Prices? Surprisingly gentle on the pocket for such a culinary ballet. The setting? Immaculate. This wasn't just eating; it was the best Vietnamese dining escapade we've ever embarked on. An absolute jewel!

Best bahn mi in London. This is coming from somone who has tried hundreds in Vietnam. So this is as authentic as it gets and with UK hogiene standrads 😀 Thank you, Will continue to recomend to everyone.

Top notch, 10/10 pricey for me but so worth the experience, portion sizes are immense

Ordered the rare beef pho but the beef looked a bit like cooked already and doesn’t taste fresh. Its texture is like rubber and hard to bite. The soup base is nothing special at all. It costs £14.52 including the service charge. Doesn’t live up to the price. Quite disappointing.

The food was nice but we wasn’t aware BYOB were £4.5 per head (as neither few of us had any drinks) so we asked for excluding the service charge but they said the staff have to pay for that instead so I’m not sure if they heard our request right or if the policy they have is unfair to the staff. So we ended up paying. One dish got forgotten, but I’ll say staff service was fine since we saw one staff tried. So was a shame as we could’ve had a better experience.

Went on a Friday night for dinner, was able to find a table for 2 without wait. The food was really good, they also some vegetarian options

This was our fav Vietnamese restaurant for years, but from today on we will stay away. It’s -1 degree out, but the Air con inside was turned off so it’s freezing, the waitress messed up our order so our food took more than an hour to arrive after repeated chasing, the manager then blamed the staff being untrained and still handled us a full bill in the end.

I’m not really sure how to rate this. The food was good but I got stomach pain literally 15 mins after finishing the meal and lasting to today. Is it the herbs, is it the tap water? I tried the dish last time at the other branch and never got the issue…

Delicious authentic Vietnamese at a decent price. The bún really is amazing, I highly recommend it. They were able to seat our large party immediately and had good service.

I like Vietnamese cuisine because their food is very well cooked and very soft, very light. You know when you eat something warm and light that it doesn't make you bloated that it has great digestion that you feel fed and well nourished and not bloated or inflated looking like you ate a whole cow... The people from all over the world who live here (British) really respect this restaurant. Every time I pass by, the restaurant is full because they deserve it for the well-made, well-cooked, very soft food. An excellent place to try the pasta with that broth! a light flavor!

Excellent authentic Vietnamese food. The vegetarian pho was top notch and was my summer roll. My rice noodles were the perfect texture and the broth was not lacking in flavor for a vegetable broth. My friends enjoyed their meals as well. Was very glad that we settled on coming to this restaurant despite the short wait. There are loads of other Vietnamese options on this stretch but it was definitely worth the wait. The staff was also exceptional.

Flavourful food, the portion is great, very full after a hot bowl of pho.

Do not order the Bun Bo Hue, they didn’t cook it with the right spices, tasted like mala tang seasoning. Tasted nothing remotely close to bbh. Didn’t even use the correct noodles. As the photo shows, they used thin rice noodles, just doesn’t taste the same. Portion size is also pretty small, not a lot of meat and noodles, it’s just a bowl of water with mala seasoning. Gave 3 stars because my friend’s pho was decent/average, and their lunch special is a pretty good value. £13.90 for starter + main + green tea.

Authentic Vietnamese in a cosy space. Make sure you go hungry because the portions are massive! The menu selection is wide ranging and everything we ordered was great. Service was fast. Would come back again in a heartbeat

Been there 3 times in short time. It's delicious, great natural tastes, no sugary and I love the setting of the place and the teas (both cold for lunch and warm at evening). Be sure you order clearly what you want, there may be small/big version of the plates, lunch menu was hudge for me. Will certainly eat there soon again!

Best Vietnamese I have had in a long time

I’m only reviewing the Dalston BunBunBun. I used to love this place, but recently the two takeaway orders I’ve made, one being green papaya salad with prawn, and the other being a chicken pho have been massive disappointments. I don’t know if it’s new management, new chef, or cost cutting, but both dishes were saccharine, sweet and tasted of pretty much, nothing but sugar. So sad!

Totally disgusting restaurant ever I've visited ... Waiter are so rude with customer.

I used to love this restaurant but last night we had a very bad experience. The food was alright, but the service was terrible. We arrived at around 9.30 pm and asked for a table. As we were a big group (7 people) they gave us a menu and asked us to wait outside for a few minutes (which turned out to be almost half an hour). Once we were seated, at 10 pm, they urged us to order fast cause they were closing at 11 pm. The waitress had a bad attitude, I had to remind her to bring a bottle of water and the second time she didn’t even look at me while I was talking or even bothered to reply. The glasses took forever to come cause they were literally washing them in the sink in front of our eyes, and I was feeling super dizzy because of how hot the place was (they turned off the AC as soon as we got seated, probably to kick us out soon). At 10.30pm they told us again that they were closing at 11 pm but now they added that they needed 15 mins to clean. So they left the bill on the table while we still had more than half of the food on our plates. Obviously, we asked them to remove the service charge as they just didn’t deserve it, and she told us she had to check with her manager if that was possible. After that, she asked for the reason why we didn’t wanna pay for it. I mean, pardon me? We have no obligation of paying for a horrible service, plus they also didn’t allow us to split the bill into more than 3 payments, which was super annoying as well. Overall, a super bad experience that embarrassed me in front of my friends, as I was the one who convinced them to go here. Won’t be recommending it or coming back either, I’m sure that there are better Vietnamese restaurants in Shoreditch, or at least with a better service.

Absolutely disgusting! This has been our favourite go-to Vietnamese in London and I’ve always had a good experience here. However, I went to dine here today and whilst the food was great as usual, there were 2 issues: 1. we witnessed one of the kitchen staff who was in the toilet for a little while (because my fiancé was waiting outside for the male toilet), and then he finally came out but didn’t wash his hands!!! He then went straight back to the kitchen to work. By this time we had finished eating and paid, but felt felt sick after seeing that! I would have walked right out had we not eaten yet. 2. One of the female waiting staff had a terrible attitude. She looked like she didn’t want to be there and when we asked for her attention, she looked annoyed and walked over slowly like she couldn’t be bothered. We asked for water but she forgot and we had to chase. Then when I asked for the bill, she came back and slapped the card machine down on the table and didn’t say a word. She just looked annoyed. Awful customer service. So so disappointed as we always travel to eat here.

The food is good but I have a gluten allergy and the waitress was not able to say what ingredients were in the menu. She was not able to answer whether or not there was gluten in the food and then confidently pointed to a random dish saying there wasn’t gluten in it and when we got it there clearly was gluten in it. She was just absolutely clueless and could not answer questions about allergens which could be very dangerous for some people.

my go to has been sv for a long time for pho and, whilst sv is still good, the pho here is… chefs kiss. will definitely be coming here from now on whenever i’m craving vietnamese!

My favourite Vietnamese in the neighborhood. When people come to visit I'll always take them here. Food is really delicious and portions are generous. Service is fast and diligent. Their salt and pepper squid is unmatched. I always order the crispy seafood noodles. Delish!

안녕하세요. 이름이 김선숙이라고 되어있지만 저의 실제 이름은 가토신입니다. 제가 리뷰같은걸 거의 안쓰는데 정말 감명깊어서 집에 와서 구글맵을 켜서 리뷰를 남깁니다. 결론부터 말하자면 너무너무 훌륭한 식사였습니다. 두 명이서 스타터로 새우롤 같은걸 먹고 메인으로 쌀국수와 분짜를 나눠먹었습니다. 제가 아무래도 한국인이기도하고 베트남 현지는 가보지 못해서 한국에 있는 베트남 식당 기준으로 리뷰를 남겨봅니다. 그 점은 양해 부탁드립니다. 우선 스타터로 먹은 새우롤은 식감부터 맛까지 과하지도 부족하지도 않은 알맞음의 극치라고 볼 수 있겠습니다. 정말 기분좋게 먹었습니다. 쌀국수는 한국의 유명 쌀국수 체인점 미*당이 저는 조금 더 제 입맛에 맞습니다만 그렇다고 아쉽다는 건 절대 아닙니다. 접시에 코박고 먹었습니다. 국물도 비리지 않았고 잘 우러나왔고 면도 도삭면으로 나와 식감이 좋았습니다. 정말 훌륭한 쌀국수 한 접시였습니다. 그리고 분짜는 best ever. 제가 동남아음식 전문가 호소인으로서 적극추천 드립니다. 지금까지 먹어본 분짜 중 1등입니다. 만약 방문하신다면 분짜는 꼭 드셔보세요. 서비스도 너무 좋으셨고 화장실도 깨끗하고 여러모로 즐거운 추억을 쌓고 왔습니다. 반쎄오를 먹어보지 못한 것이 아쉽네요. 음식 사진을 남기는 것 보다 맛에 대한 guarantee를 보이는 빈접시와 감동의 따봉을 사진으로 첨부드립니다. 12월에 런던에 방문 할 수도 있는데 만약 방문하게 되면 또올게요! 오늘 계기로 저는 Bun Bun Bun의 Big Fan입니다. 감사합니다.

Visited BunBunBun at 9:30pm on a Saturday and the website listed a close time of 11pm; plenty of time we thought. However the staff seemed stressed and unhappy. Perhaps just a bad night but they treated us rudely and rushed us through our meal so they could have everyone out and closeup by 10:30pm. They were taking food away as we were still finishing it and basically pushed us out the door so fast they almost didn’t take our payment. But unusual vibes aside, what really matters is the food and it was excellent. My bun cha is up there with the tastiest Vietnamese meal I’ve ever had. The shared bench style dining is easy going, even if it’s a little intimate with the strangers next to you. I can see why it’s busy though… I would give them another chance as I really enjoyed the food.

I have to say I am not a lemon grass fan and lemon grass was a predominant ingredient on the menu. I ordered summer roll which were supposed to be two while I got one but split in two pieces. The atmosphere is cosy but service is very fast.

Oh my god. Traveled far but bunbunbun definitely didn’t disappoint!!! Had to wait a bit 15 mins at dinner but staff were really nice The food was so good soo authentic even the dining experience sharing tables!!! It was like I was back in vietnam. See pic for food … need i say more????

Bun cha here tastes almost exactly like the well-known ones I had in Hanoi!! So grateful to have found this place as I've been craving that. My friend's pho was also good, you could tell that they had actually made the bone broth from scratch. Will 100% be back in the very near future...

My favourite Vietnamese is London!

I've been coming here regularly for years, always thought they were delicious and very fairly priced. Today the owner ran after me in the street under the rain because they had forgotten to put the sauce in my take away bag. Now that's dedication! So I thought I'd come and do a nice shout out on Google because they deserve it!

Outstanding flavours! It's definitely one of my favourite Deliveroo options. I've never eaten in, but I can only imagine how amazing their dishes would taste when warmer. Their Bún chả Hanoi has a meat broth that it's out of this world, I think it's their secret recipe as I couldn't find a way to replicate it anywhere online. Their summer rolls are also great.

My favourite Vietnamese in London, their buns are delicious and service has been consistent the 4 times I’ve been. I made a tik tok (diiptuk) on their lunch deal recently which includes starter, main and tea for £13.5.

We love their Pho, we go there every Sunday. It gets easily packed, but I realise they're expanding! I will still keep on going there every Sunday because I still love their Pho

The service was very friendly and quick. Loved the atmosphere of the restaurant, it's very quaint small. The salt & chilli squid was some of the best I've ever had. They were fresh, hot and crispy. The chargrilled pork belly was delicious and crispy. Love the food in general and I would definitely be returning. They don't seem to take reservations so I'd just turn up at the restaurant. If you're going in on a Friday, get there before 7 for a table.

Delicious food and very attentive staff.

I went there as a group of 5 on a Sunday evening for dinner. The food was ok and the price was reasonable even because the portions are big. We were sitting at a table near the door that would not close properly and would open quickly because of deliveries and it was quite chilly that evening. The waiter was very impacient, he was never rude but he would come to the table multiple times while we were choosing and stare at us, without saying anything, with the pen ready on the paper and then leave after realising we were still going through the menus. And no, we didn't take long to choose. The place has long tables which are shared by different group of customers so keep this in mind if you decide to dine here.

BunBunBun offers delicious food at reasonable prices. It's always crowded, and tables don't have much space between them - if you are looking for something intimate/quiet, this is NOT for you. Other than that, this is my go-to Vietnamese restaurant in town!

Pleasant Vietnamese restaurant on the Kingsland Road, 5mins from the Overground stations. Popped in for a late lunch on a cold, wet, grey December afternoon and had a chicken stir fry with a veggie spring roll started, and green tea.

The best vietnamese I ever had in London. The restaurant is lacking of space so you may need to share the table with someone else and you may be waiting outside if no tables are available but for me was worth it

I came here for dinner for the first time. Both my friend and I ordered the vegetarian soup and were given pork. It was impossible to tell the difference and we’d started eating before we realised. Whilst they did swap it for us, at the end of the meal my friend ordered a tea and had the waitress ask if she really wanted it because we were taking up space. I also asked if we could have a discount on the bill seeing as we’d been served meat when we’d clearly specified the vegetarian option and they said no. It was cramped inside, smelt badly of cooking and we asked for tap water several times, which we never got. My first and last time at this place. Worst dining experience I have had. Very worrying for such mistakes to be made when you could be dealing with food allergies, religious belief etc. Save yourself the hassle and go someplace else.

My old faithful for Vietnamese in Hoxton. Love their take on classic viet dishes. Fast and no-fuss service, food comes quick and is always fresh. My favourite along Kingsland Road.

Amazing pho and bun! The grilled chicken and lamb that came with the noodles were tender and well seasoned! Nice condiments, fish sauce and dipping sauces were included. Would order again.

No words can describe this humble restaurant. The food, amazing. The drinks, amazing. The service, amazing. Everything was perfect. We ordered beef and chicken pho, alongside their house lemon aid, fried squid, and spring rolls. All of the dishes were absolutely stunning, and left our tastebuds wanting more and more. The portions were amazing, filling us up all the way. I’m addition to this, the drinks and service were amazing, with the most helpful and kind staff we have ever seen. The best part about this whole experience is the price. For huge portions, 2 mains, 2 starters, and 2 drinks, we paid a grand total of around £50. Which is amazing for the quality you receive. Overall we would definitely recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning soon.

This restaurant is not like the others! There's a very special selection of noodle dishes that you will not find anywhere else. I have to say the Bun Bo Hue is a bit disappointing, but all of the others are fantastic and authentic! I've eaten here countless times now.

Found squid in our vegetable pho which was obviously not ideal as vegetarians. When we highlighted this to staff they didn't really care. Nobody apologised and when we asked for it to be taken off the bill the waitress said that the manager would only allow her to remove the service charge from the bill. They literally couldn't have cared less - shame because the rest of the food was good but imagine one of us was allergic. Won't be returning unfortunately

Unfriendly staff, doesn't even give tap water. Staffs seemed annoyed all the time for some reason. Was a very uncomfortable experience. Food was okay but won't go again.

The guy who run this place is always extremely polite and super friendly. We always love to get back to his place near Hoxton Station!

Great Bun Thit Cha Gio, pork is well charred, noodles slightly underdone. Sauce is delicious. Every bite was moreish and while it can get crowded on some days, service is reliable and you wont be disappointed. The flavors are authentic

Best Vietnamese food we've had outside of Vietnam. We were in the back corner and service was a little slow because of that, but didn't take away from what was an overwhelmingly great experience.

Really great place for authentic Vietnamese food. We wanted a quick lunch and enjoyed delicious soft shell crab with crispy coating. We also had Hanoi Bun which was generous and refreshing. The three pork aspects were super tasty, only thing that was a shame is that the dressing wasn't as punchy as others I've had.

I’d say if you just want some Vietnamese pho but don’t take it too seriously then it’s the place for you. Pho was okay, quite plain tasting, nothing really stands out.

Tasty and flavourful Vietnamese food with great service!!

Took years to find a great Vietnamese place in London. This was by far our favourite. Then we moved to East Dulwich and haven't found found a comparable place yet. :( We always went for the pork with springrolls bun. Yum!!

Simple bare bones no nonsense interior suggests it's all about the food, and was not disappointed. A hearty portion of vegetable spicy tofu coconut curry had a lovely balanced flavour and was full bodied without any hint of stodginess. Also tried some of the chicken pho which was light and tasty, perfect for a hot summer's evening. Air con inside was just right and service efficient. Make sure you don't miss last orders! (we arrived around half 9 Sunday evening)
