Very over priced £18 for a sub parr, overly pretentious meal, the food was nice but definitely not worth that sort of money, can't help feeling it's driving the local village people away, and the atmosphere suffers because of this.

Cycling the Midshires Way we were camping in Clipstone village and tried out The Bulls Head on our last day, having visited The George in Great Oxenden and The Stag in Maidwell previously. The menu certainly looked interesting and although we hadn’t booked they crammed us into the already full dining list. We are so glad they did! The smokies as a starter looked interesting and were just sublime. If you like smoked fish and prawns, you ‘have’ to experience this! Cheesy crumble topping, fresh herbs, samphire, wonderful creamy sauce and a slice of sourdough toast - it was amazing. We were only going to have a snack, but with food this good we tried the mushrooms, the nachos with beef chilli (cheese and chilli right down through the layers of chips, unlike most restaurants), fresh herbs and plenty of sour cream. My wife had the beef schwarma which was huge and even more delicious than the street food version we had often enjoyed in The Netherlands. Self control had gone by this point so unusually I had a dessert, too. This was also spectacularly good - an ice cream Eton mess served with a plump, sweet strawberry in a kilner jar mug. We noticed how supportive of the younger staff our landlady was and all in all, it was the best pub eating experience I have ever had in nearly 70 years. Outstanding. Thank you guys!

We were staying in nearby Naseby and stopped here for dinner one evening. The pub was very busy, clearly catering for drinkers which is always good to see. Despite having a full restaurant, the staff allowed us to order food from the bar. A solid pub menu was complemented by an excellent range of specials, with one of us enjoying the pork fillet. The other had cajun chicken. Both good sized portions and reasonably priced. Good atmosphere in the pub and would recommend to anyone after a drink or meal.

I was lucky to be staying in this village for one night and read about The Bull’s Head online. I happened to be there for their weekly Pie Night. The dinner was absolutely delicious, probably the best pie (lamb and mint) I have ever had. The welcome I got as a solo woman from the staff was beyond warm and inviting. My husband and I popped in for a meal whilst out for a sunny afternoon drive and couldn't have been more happier with the food. I had a goats cheese salad which was so artistically presented with edible flowers around the brim of the dish that I thought I was in a Michelin star restaurant. It tasted as a good as it looked too! My husband had a chicken burger with a crispy onion creation on top which again was absolutely delicious (apologies it's not called a chicken burger on the menu it has a different name but we can't remember what it was). We had an outside table surrounded by hanging baskets and found the staff friendly and obliging. We don't live in the area but plan to make a return visit as we were so impressed with the quality and pricing of our meals. You can just tell when someone's put time and effort into making sure they're providing a tip top service. It's 11 out of 10 from us!

While staying with some family during the recent British Moto Grand Prix weekend, over the august Bank Holiday, I visited this pub together with my cousin, her husband and some good friends of theirs, on the Saturday evening. The pub was holding a "Spanish paella themed" evening and, good lord just what a superb evening it was.Like I say, the paella itself was more than good enough for a top Valencian restaurant to have been proud of, yes I have been to that Spanish city and had one there. And the place was packed, but everybody was served promptly, and EVERYBODY seemed to be enjoying it as much as I was. I can't comment on the quality of the beer, as needing to rise early for the grand Prix, I volunteered to drive so didn't drink any, but I would imagine it would be kept superbly, it's THAT sort of pub. And none of my companions who were drinking certainly had NO complaints on that score.OK, so this was a bit of a "special" night, but i was VERY impressed. I'd gladly visit this pub again.

Had been to the nearby farm shop but couldn't get into their restaurant - hungry, so lets keep on going outwards from Market Harborough and we're sure to find a pub. And, whoops, we're right on the car park entrance of this nice looking place - quick swerve in. And from then on all was tremendous - the welcome, the internal layout and decoration (very traditional village pub look), the service - and the food - oh, the food. Daughter had chicken and wife and I had scampi - and can honestly say its the best pub scampi we have ever had. Deserts were lovely. Food was very well presented. Beer was well kept. What more can you ask for. Loved our visit.

The Bulls Head Public House is situated in the attractive village of Clipston near Market Harborough, 10 minutes from the A14/ junction 2.We visited earlier today and sat in the garden close to the pub entrance. They had organised outdoor heaters as well as blankets for people who felt the cold more than we did which was a thoughtful touch. There is a small car park which is slightly on the snug side but we managed to get parked relatively easily. As for our food, we ordered 2 roast beef Sunday lunches which were £12.95 each....and really worth every penny, perhaps the best lunch I have had in many a year....the beef crumbled and received plenty of it.The vegetables came out in seperate dishes and were perfectly cooked too.I really enjoyed the honey parsnips, delicious and had a slight crunch too.We ordered 2 desserts which were part of a 2 courses deal......£16.95 for 2 courses, I had the mixed fruits crumble with ice cream and my wife had the chocolate sundae.I had 3 pints of 1050 and my wife had 2 cups of tea which together totalled £50 exactly which was extremely reasonable for what was received.Service was outstanding and staff were a credit to their professions. We were both very impressed with this beautiful little pub which had bags of character and was very well organised on the covid side of things with ample hand gels and track and trace too.Visited 25th April 2021Please look after our brilliant pubs and support them.A quite outstanding pub and as good a lunch as I've ever had.

Visited the Bulls Head for only the second time (First visit since lockdown) for a family Sunday lunch and was very impressed again. First observation was how much attention had been paid to feeling covid secure. One way system through bar into dining room. Hand gel available at entry. Outside secure large tented area for guests to drink in. Looked impressive. All five of us enjoyed starters of soup of the day (tomato and basil with rustic crusty bread) prawn and salmon cocktail and mushrooms in a creamy sauce. Main courses included loin of pork with beautiful crackling, roast turkey, leg of lamb and salmon. Excellent vegetables and baby potatoes served separately and the roast parsnips were to die for. (Some of the best I have ever had) additional gravy boat supplied which was a nice touch as some places can be sparing with gravy. Some of us had dessert including lemon meringue pie which having tasted was very tangy and yummee. I enjoyed the New York cheesecake which was first class. Service was prompt professional and courteous. Overall a fab experience. Would definitely recommend to others and will be returning soon.

Went with family for late post Christmas lunch. 11 in group, young one's were well satisfied with their burgers and elder one's that had the Scampi in Batter said it was a change from the usual dry breaded version. Fish was as good as it always is. Proper good pub food .

First time at this public house with relatives and we had a great evening. The pub is very nice in side, lovely and warm with the log burner on. The waitresses were very helpful explaining the different sorts of Ginn they stock, which i believe to be about 40. The food was very good, all served beautiful and very tasty. We had different main courses from the burgers to the homemade steak & mushroom pie. Although being very full we did leave a little room for pudding and again this was all beautiful. We all cannot wait to return.

Booked before arriving due to having a dog so wanted to check that was ok. Really pleasant and welcoming place. Loads of beer on and being consumed by the locals, which is always a great sign. The food and service was outstanding with generous portions at a reasonable price.

Lovely little pub with beautiful flowers outside. Quaint decor on the inside. A good range of different drinks. Went for the Sunday lunch which was really tasty. You get a whole jug of gravy which is great in my opinion. Lovely cauliflower cheese.

Stopped here on passing for some lunch. Pub is lovely, interesting decor and cozy. Staff are lovely especially Helen. We had a burger and sausage and chutney sandwich. Both were good portions and very tasty. My partner said it was probably the best burger he had ever eaten - home made and huge!

We visited the Bulls Head for lunch on Bank holiday Monday on my mums recommendation. We weren’t disappointed- fantastic food (steak and kidney pie is the best I’ve tasted for many, many years!) and very attentive staff.

A lovely pub with proper ales and a really good menu. At the end of a hot hike with the dog - close enough to the Jurassic Way - it was a very welcome break. First rate beer and fish and chips. We will visit again

The food here is absolutely delicious every time we visit. This time we went with some friends from nearby but hadn’t been to The Bulls Head before and they were blown away with the food and service. Very efficient but very polite and unobtrusive. Also, I’ve said it before but to have samphire so far inland is an absolute treat. Well done again!

arrived for another sunday lunch and same quality and service as last time very good , friendly staff , only problem is they offer a two course or 3 course , we chose the 2 course for aprox £17.00 good value for the quality of food but just too much food going to waste , would be better option just to have the roast , but good quality food

Went on a Pasta special night. 2 meals and a bottle of wine for a set price. Just an aside before we get to the wholesome praise bit, the price of this meal on some websites is less than actually charged, so use the pubs own site to be sure and that is up to date.

What can we say other than absolutely superb. From the moment you walk in very welcoming staff and dog. Lovely bottle of wine, the best vegan burgers I have ever experienced and my husbands pie was spot on. Lovely well presented vegan dessert and homemade lemon meringue for hubby. Can’t fault the Bulls head brilliant team x

Lovely old pub in heart of village. Ordered Brie, cranberry relish and bacon baguette and a burger. Both excellent. Baguette was not cheap at £8.99 but worth every penny. home baked, still warm and came with thick fries which were crisp on outside and beautifully soft on inside, coleslaw and salad. Shared as too big for 1! Burger beautifully presented. Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch.

We were a table of eight for Sunday lunch and not one complaint, amazing quality freshly cooked food, we had starters and when arrived thought they were on the small side but after receiving our main course were actually pleased about this as main course portions huge, our favourite point is the fact that the vegetables are served separately hence not rediculously piled high plates.

We went to the Bull's Head on a Saturday night a couple of weeks ago....and what a meal!! The atmosphere is very traditional, with the cosy bar busy with locals...there's a dining area near the bar, and a much more substantial dining area down the whole side of the pub, of probably 80 covers....and it was packed!! Therefore, booking a table is a must in my opinion. The menu is so inspiring that I didn't go for my usual 'safe' choices of sirloin steak or the biggest burger on the menu, instead going for a Mexican tortilla chip starter to share, with a seafood mix off the specials menu to follow. Both were absolutely fabulous, and my girlfriend had an equally magnificent salad. To top it off, they have an excellent wine list and amazing puddings, so we went back to our home for the night very happy diners indeed. All in all, this is a proper English village pub which exceeded all of our expectations in every single way, and the food is the best 'pub food' I've ever had...it's a little gem!!
