Buckland Village Store in Mole Valley

I called in for the first time yesterday morning after swimming in the lake. What a wonderful deli this is. I had the best baguette ever! I asked for an avocado, salad and chilli jam. It wasn’t on the menu but told that it was no bother for them to make. The bread was so fresh and every ingredient inside that baguette was fabulous. The shop has a lovely selection of cards, cakes, deli items etc etc I will definitely be back. The young lady who served me was so lovely and had the biggest smile. Really made my morning. Thank you so much 🥰

Ermmm... that there isn't a button for 9 out of 5 stars is infuriating 😁 What a great find. We were having a drink in neighbouring Betchworth when I suddenly fancied a lunchtime sandwich as opposed to a heavy pub lunch so we headed to Buckland and found this deli. The two ladies serving were so full of kindness and smiles. And my BLT sandwich (with an added avocado) was AMAZING. I think we will make more of these occasional trips from London just for the lovely experience here! Thank you!

It's all about the sandwiches. Make sure you get here early as some sandwich fillings sell out fast on busy days.

A colleague took me there, service was slow (to be fair it was one young lady only) but they weren’t busy so it didn’t take too long and the food was great, really good, one of the best places I have ever been

Always good to find a surviving village store. Actually more of a lunchtime sandwich cafe than a grocers, but has some basics.

If you haven't visited here before then it's a must!! Gorgeous tea garden and lovely choice of delicious eats. Also a destination after a walk for coffee and cake.

Great service, Excellent food, Professional staff

Perhaps not as elegant as the name might suggest but the care in delivering our tea and coffee in China cups in the cute little garden made-up for it in spades. Judging by the queue for hand made toasties and sandwiches it is very popular. A further visit to check out the toasties is definitely on the cards. There is also a very good selection of greetings cards. Not a regular find.

Really appalled by the service of 2 new women serving at the deli. Have been coming to the deli for 10years and live up the road. No mask worn by staff making the sandwiches, asked if food was ready to which I got a snappy response, "you only ordered it 2mins ago" I annoyingly retaliated as the comment was so rudely toned, checked receipt it was 12, she shouted 7, either way not a couple. They then argued through the window for another 5mins, telling me they dont want my service anyway. Have never experienced customer service like it. Such a shame as it was always a lovely friendly local deli and as far as I know the owner still is who will hopefully get rid of that chavvy staff!

Stopped by the shop and bought a egg and bacon Baggett. It was very nice made promptly for me. very generous in the filling inside when ever I'm passing i always try to stop by. A fantastic deli and sandwich shop with friendly staff.

Always grab their warm baguettes from here, better than any supermarket, it is so moreish. Never experienced any bad service here and visit regularly so not sure what that's all about?

My friend took me here for a bacon sandwich and to be honest I wasn't too bothered 'Bacon Sandwich I thought, - Big deal !!!' OMG, how wrong I was - Had the best bacon sandwich of my life, the bread was so fresh and I have never seen so much bacon in a sandwich, which was also cooked well done so wasn't wobbly, which I don't like - have been back twice more and took my wife, she thought they were great too. I live 8 miles away but will definitely make a regular trip here, its worth it. Apparently the Baguettes are amazing too. Going to try one on my next trip. Well done girls, don't change a thing.

A lovely old village shop that makes the best sandwiches and baguettes in Surrey. For a village shop the prices are very good with an amazing deli counter and quality foods. They do get busy with customers but you never have to wait long, it's because the baguettes are fresh and to die for.

Really nice deli, plenty of choice, sandwiches made to order. There's a small place out the back where you can sit and eat. Popped in for lunch with a friend, the coffee wasn't the best as it had been burnt by the water being too hot. But the food was delicious and as I said made to order.

Yummy freshly made baguette and very friendly service

Read previous review from May 2018 but curious to visit as location looks lovely from the outside. Hoped that all had improved but no real welcome or greeting from the staff. Ordered drinks which were cheerlessly served and asked about the garden: simply told it was “at the rear”. No offer to carry out drinks or to open ( locked ) rear door. Pleasant enough area but looked rather delapidated despite lovely flowering shrubs. Sadly the toilet facility needs urgent attention - best described as basic and not very pleasant to use. On finishing our drinks and walking out through the well stocked delicatessen, not a word of thanks or goodbye from the staff. All in all a huge disappointment and won’t be re visiting any time soon. Such a shame as it has the potential to be such a lovely tearoom and garden, but until all the above issues are addressed I can’t see it attracting new customers

If you get there early enough their warm beef and horseradish baguettes with stuffing are really excellent. Very highly recommended.

Use this deli for lunch baguettes regularly. Amazing every time! Always very well filled,tasty and well priced for what you get. I've always believed this to be more a deli and take away establishment rather than a cafe,but there are outside tables for customers to enjoy their purchases on good weather days. I've always found the staff to be very friendly and extremely helpful. Highly recommended for deli goods and lunch.

Lovely little shop with deli, coffee and pastries

Im saddened to write this review because this little venue has the potential with its location and quaint appearance to be fabulous. Firstly, on arrival, two young ladies were serving, that being the operative word because neither was forthcoming to even say hello let alone what did I want or any other pleasantry. I know one of the girls was the daughter of the owner and she was taking fresh baguettes out of the oven...so fairs fair but the other girl seemed more interested in her nails than serving. Tempted by the fresh baguettes I ordered a filled baguette for myself and my friend ordered the quiche. The quiche eventually arrived and my friend said it was delicious. My baguette sadly was not overflowing with filling and hadnt been buttered! When I approached the "daughter" she insisted it had been buttered but it had melted. Definitely not seen any butter..... Sooo aside from that, the food was ok, my friends coffee was fine. But for such a pretty location, the tables werent clean and would look so much better and be attractive to passers by if they had a pretty little something in the centre, or god forbid, a tablecloth? We had to ask for salt and pepper to be set on the table. The toilet was a whole other realm. Now, Ive used toilets that are just holes in cabinets in Greece, and literally holes in the ground in Nepal...but you expect that. This toilet "room" in a shed at the bottom of the back path is unhygienic and dirty. There is seating in the back garden, but do you really want to be surrounded by waste cardboard boxes as was there on this occasion? I WILL return on some occasion just to see if there is any improvement. If there isnt then whoever runs the place is plain lazy.

Best Sandwiches & coffee for miles around.

Nice stop over for drivers and cyclists. Has a delicatessen and coffee etc. Old church to one side and village pond on the other.
