Bryngwyn Newydd in Carmarthenshire

Great to have this place back. Been twice in the last couple of months.

Popped in there last night, (Friday 19th). My wife and I had the chicken with garlic & mushroom sauce. Followed by sponge and custard for the boss and chocolate fudge cake for myself. As was mentioned in other reviews, the portions were generous. Two cups of tea later and we were both stuffed. Service was courteous but not 'distant'. A thoroughly enjoyable evening. Would certainly pop in again.

Went there with my family for a birthday meal , the service was OK until the meals came out, so they brought my chicken first I had to wait for the rest of my meal for around 10mins to then my food was cold. Sauce on my chicken was very thick and tastless. My sons burger was dry , steak was tough , the food used to be amazing there but it was expensive for the food we had never again will i go there waste of money

Good food served at a reasonable price. Nice friendly staff

The chicken was dry. Sides were standard. Most basic of menus. I would have expected something more inventive, or at least different. On the plus side the staff were nice, punctual and funny. Why would I go here if I wasn't having a stake? (A question for the owner)

Best meal we have had for a long time. Amazing steaks and the mango chicken was so good!! Lovely young man who served us, credit to the place, well done 👍

Great service & atmosphere supported by some pretty good grub served in quite large portions. The chicken New Yorker is a bit heavy on the BBQ sauce but they did say next time ask for the sauce in a separate jug

We visited here as a group of 10 people for a birthday meal. The food came out in good time and was absolutely fantastic - there were no complaints 👌 Service was excellent. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive throughout. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back!!

First time back at the Bryngwyn since it reopened. Good food, good service and good price. Bryngwyn was alway a bit of tradition in our family because it never let us down. Good to see it still hasn’t. Cheers!

Great that the bryngwyn is back open. Loving the new renovations and modern style and it's still the same great food and service that keeps us coming back. Can't wait to eat there again when it's open in the nights.

Outstanding steak! It doesn't look particularly exciting from the outside, but it's been modernised inside and is very nice indeed. There's a good selection of beers and an excellent selection of food. The steaks are awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed a 16oz one and demolished it without pause - it was excellent. In hindsight, 16oz is a huge quantity, so it's a testament to quality that I finished it without much thought.

Just had an amazing Sunday roast.Would definitely recommend.The staff are wonderful too..

Outstanding setting and service.

Starters were tiny and poor quality. Mains were just ok and took an hour to arrive, It wasn't even busy there. Overall, expensive and disappointing. We will not be returning.

We were a party of 10 amidst 4 or 5 other large parties. Staff managed the evening brilliantly, everyone was served within minutes of each other and the food was sublime! Definitely recommend The Bryngwn Newydd to all.

Me and My Husband absolutely love The Bryngwyn. We nearly cried when we went into lockdown as we knew we couldn't come down and have food. The food is always outstanding and the staff, well they are second to none. So helpful and nothing is to much trouble. Our regular place for food as well know we are always going to get good tasty food. Well worth a visit

Always had our girls Christmad bash here and the food was always great. Lovely friendly place to visit.

I had the mississippi combo as I saw someone else have the mixed grill and it looked small. Loved the cajun chicken and steak, although reluctant to give me a rare steak. Had some baby back ribs also, the sauce was lovely. Followed covid guidelines well which was really reassuring. Would definitely come back.

Stunning meal, delicious dessert, drinks and excellent service. Thoroughly enjoyed but then again we always do.

Bryngwyn Newydd ❤️Well what can I say? I have never been disappointed before, and I was not about to be disappointed again . It clearly takes a Welsh restaurant, to serve me up a crispy duck the way it should be cooked ❤️Clean and COVID friendly, clean toilets, and spacious Your safe here, and staff are friendly with exceptional service ❤️ Crispy Sizzling Duck This was perfection on a plate. The skin was heaven. Crispy and the fat had dissolved. The meat was tender and for me cooked to perfection. The chips were crispy and lovely too. Cheesy Garlic Bread This was cooked to perfection. The cheese was plentiful and tasty. I really liked the cheese too, it was not over powering. Strawberry Sundae I loved this, fresh strawberries and a nice ice-cream. I had all strawberry scoops as I hate vanilla and the establishment were nice enough to adjust the order.My bestie had the Chicken Tikka Stack and said it was amazing - it is one of his favourite dish ever ❤️ We can not wait to come back well worth a visit if you are in the area. Had to preebook a table for evening meal on my wife's birthday.Lovely welcome,even if staff were all in masks or visors.Both ordered the same 16oz rump but Nang with jacket and mine with chips.Outstanding is the word yo describe the meal ,the steak was soft and tender,chips and onion rings lovely.We ordered peppercorn sauce and garlic slices with meal .Everything delicious. Highly recommended.Tjoroughly enjoyed

Lovely birthday meal, everyone enjoyed themselves. Would definitely visit again. Well organised with regards to social distancing and one way travel in and out, not stressful at all.

Excellent food. All freshly made. We had breads to start with which you could tell had been freshly baked and warm straight out of the oven.Chips are hand cut and were nice and crispy. Staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us.Highly recommend! 5 stars

It's a pub with a nice atmosphere and delicious food. It's a popular restaurant, so it's best to make a reservation. This restaurant mainly serves steak.

Amazing food friendly helpful staff !! Visited for my son's 18th nothing was too much trouble they decorated the room with balloons and banners that I dropped off and did everything they could to make our evening enjoyable from start to finish Highly recommended !!!! 🎈🎉🎈🎉

Ordered steak and chips all cooked in onion oil as I'm allergic to it only had steak as they would not cook chips in onion free oil so paid £18.99 for a badly cooked steak and bread yuk would never return

Staying in an Airbnb around the corner from Bryngwyn Newydd, walked there on a very windy and cold early evening. Hadn’t pre booked,but we got a very warm welcome from staff, and the place itself. Three of us all had different starters and mains, all of which were well presented, hot, and served with a smiley, friendly face. Couldn’t fault the food and the service, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend eating here.

Disappointed with lunch time meal ...very small portions ..gammon was no bigger than a slice of bacon ...my husband had the flat iron steak it was tasteless..not even a few peas ..No bigger than a child’s portion really ......Soup was ok .Waitress was very pleasant .Not as good as it used to be .

They had availability even thought it was a Saturday and lunch time. The starters were very nice. 2 guests had Duck as a main the other had a sirloin steak. Compliments to the chef for cooking the steak perfectly, however one duck was brought to the table before the other and due to the duck being on a sizzler plate this ment the second duck was slightly dryer than the other as meat continues to cook on these plates. All in all will visit again.

Excellent meal and a great price.

We booked here as its always got good reviews. The staff work hard and most of them are friendly one or two not so! Young lad behind bar is lovely. I had steak which was nice but was a bit fatty was disappointing with the chips they were frozen and this one place when I've been before akwats did homemade chips!! Why stop?? Cheesecake was a bit bland too. Not sure I would rush back to this pub due to these reasons.

Outstanding food never had a bad meal here or in any of there other restaurants, totally recommended this place for a perfect dining experience

Can’t fault this place lunch was lovely really enjoyed my steak.Service was great and the quality of the food was amazing.Better to book but they will accommodate walks in we were sitting down to eat in no time.

New to Llanelli and fancied a good steak. This place was recommended to us. Great all round experience, staff were A1, food was A1. Being the first Wednesday of the month we enjoyed their open mic too which was brilliant. Thanks for a great night, we will be back!

One of my go to places for a cracking pub grub meal, always spot on, never had a bad meal. Highly reccomend either a steak or a mixed grill !!

Birthday meal with my wife which didn't disappoint. Starters of Prawn Cocktail and Nachos were very nice but the main course of Sirloin Steak (wife) and the Fillet Medallions were cooked as specified and tasted amazing. I can say that it is possibly the best steak I have ever eaten it was that tasty. We couldn't fit a desert but took the offer of a desert take away. Loved the food , easy access and friendly attentive staff as well. A 5 star rating and 2 very satisfied customers.

Lovely lunch and superb sea bass. First visit and I’ll be coming again Service excellent and quality of food very good too. Enjoyed sea bass fillet cooked to perfection and then cherry bake well cheesecake to die for!! Highly recommended and good value

Haven’t been for a while so when my parents said they’d booked for an anniversary meal I was determined to go with them. They managed to phone up before going and change the booking. It was lovely to see all the friendly staff who were very attentive. Had cheesy garlic bread to start and it was amazing, still the best around. Fillet medallions were cooked MR and they were perfect. Chips were lovely and fresh as well. Unfortunately I was too full for dessert but will definitely be going back for the four layered chocolate fudge cake!

Not as good as usual, garlic bread was fab, ribs great, but disappointed to see oven chips which were dry, packet onion rings and gammon was thin, streak was still sizzling at the table, so was over done by the time it cooled down to eat - expected better for the price - Used to be brilliant- what happened?

We love it here. Fantastic for a family, Sunday lunch! We are regulars over the years.

I've always had good meals here but was willing to lower my expectations for a Christmas Party. However that wasn't needed. The food was excellent for all eight of us. The beef was stunning, though my wife reckons it would have to go some to beat her chicken. I won't except any challenge about the fudge cake being best desert.

Excellent meal. Brilliant efficient and friendly service. 2 Course meal with a drink £17. Good value. Didn't need a snack when I got home.

Went with group of friends for Christmas get together. We were squeezed into a side room, 12 of us, where inside seating could not get out to use toilet facilities.

Love this place food is always good ....same menu for all Seagers restaurants...so the specials board is worth looking at for a change to your usual order....service is always carried out well and nothing is to much trouble for them. Love love the the food

Just popped in for lunch feeling a little peckish not having had breakfast that day. Good pleasant service, very reasonably priced excellent quality. Could they improve of course they can, get a bigger car park. Seriously you can’t ask for more highly recommended.
