Went in for a late breakfast, with a vegan friend. We were told this was fine, however the only option for her was beans on toast (served with butter on the side!). In addition the French toast was plain loaf with a layer of omelette adherred to the outside and they forgot our bacon. Most disappointing, there are far better places for breakfast in the area.

Came here because it has mainly good reviews , allows dogs and a variety of menu options. Our meals were tasty , service was good and atmosphere was lively. Felt the pizza was a little bit greasy but in the main the food was good and the prices not too bad. Would go again, especially as can take our dog - usually hard to find anywhere other than pubs which do.

This is quite a difficult review because I frequent here for drinks once a month and had dined a few times prior to taking up the art that is being a ‘food’ reviewer.Dined here a couple of weekends ago and had hyped it to a friend. Unfortunately it wasn’t one of the best experiences. It was busy - understandable, being a Saturday evening at 7pm. But to the point where a couple decided it was appropriate to stand right above my head as I dined as they had a few drinks - even using our table to rest their drinks (because that’s not at all rude when someone is having their dinner). Due to it being a restaurant/bar this resulted in a lot of people standing around my table (as tables were reserved for people dining) and due to large party groups the place seemed quite claustrophobic. Eventually it got a bit quieter, sadly this was when we had almost finished our meals, and decided not to stay on for a few drinks. Food itself was fine; not amazing but good enough that I ate it all (go me). Probably my least favourite meal I’ve had here; however the previous ones were very nice and that’s what keeps me going back.Staff very friendly, while being rushed off their feet - again this is a Saturday night at the beginning of the month; so this is to be expected. I worked in a restaurant in Merchant City years ago and know this feeling all too well. However; reserved table at the start had a nice touch with my name on it (celebrity moment) and getting seated wasn’t a problem.Would I recommend this restaurant/bar to you? Absolutely! It’s perfect in summer time where you can sit outside and have a few drinks in the early evenings; and cosy in the winter where you can sit inside and tuck into a reasonably priced meal. I would just avoid going back on a Saturday night and stick to my usual Sunday or mid week matinee.

Popped in here on Saturday 4th November for a drink and mainly just went in because they allows dogs and we had our wee dog Cooper with us. I had a mohjito cocktail and my husband had wine the cocktail was lovely just what I needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the place was cosy and had a good atmosphere. After another cocktail (dark and stormy mmmmm yummy) we felt a bit peckish so had a look at the menu what a great variety they have and small plates perfect if you don't want a big meal we ordered the humous hallumi Spanish meatballs and nachos all were delicious. I will definitely go back great menu great staff great drinks and at a reasonable price.

The first time we tried to eat here, we were told the kitchen was closed as it was too quiet (on a tuesday). We went back 2 days later as the restaurant guide in our hotel really rates this place. Well, I for one don't get the hype. The place is unbearably noisy, cramped with a slap dash menu (the drinks menu is written on the wall). My friend's steak was overcooked, so was my burger although it tasted very good. We came here yesterday after a a one year hiatus, staff all different sadly, which does make me question an establishment. Blonde waitress was nice enough this evening, drink took a longer than expected to arrive and she did seemed distracted at times, but very attentive when not preoccupied by trying to serve numerous tables at once - she was the saving grace of the place... she seemed to be the only one working, no shocker that she was unable to give us her full attention.Food was average at best although when the chef came out to smoke at our eating area it was off putting - wholly, smelt bad and she looked unhygienic and utterly miserable... not what you want for a nice dinner out. Even the waitress couldn't convince me to return.

Overpriced menu and poor quality. I've been going to this restaurant very often for the last year and I was happy with the food served there (although not always good value for money). However, beginning of December, I went for after-work drinks and food and it was a disappointing experience. A friend ordered poached eggs with salad and what she got was raw eggs and onions (with a little bit of salad underneath). Two others ordered scrambled eggs on toast and they got (again!) raw eggs on burnt toast. I wanted to eat a potato and leek 'homemade' soup and I got a Heinz soup that was super salty and tasteless. However, it seemed that many customers were having issues with their food because the poor guy that was serving didn't stop going back and forth with plates!

The day we unfortunately went for lunch was chaos to say the least. On ordering food we were told we would have to wait at least an hour as someone in kitchen had gone home! Seemed to be the chef as my fish abd chips were incinerated! Given the wrong bill and staff serving needed a kick up the backside very slow and demotivated. Will bea long time vefore we return here.

I had never sent a meal back in my life until we visited Brutti ma Buoni. Following the recommendation of my Lonely Planet we had lunch there. I ordered Spaghetti Arrabiata and my friends Spaghetti Carbonara. Since we had an Italian with us (who wisely chose salad), we knew what we should be served. The carbonara was okay although the pasta was overcooked. My Arrabiata was not resembling this traditional Italian dish at all. Instead of pancetta and chili, I found onions and mushrooms, which made it sweet. I then found the courage to complain and told them that there was neither pancetta nor chili in it. The second attempt was the exact same meal, but with a lot of chili and jalapenos(very Italian...). It was barely edible since it was more than hot and my stomach complained hours afterwards. The only good thing was that I paid only 4 instead of 8 pounds for it, but then again I left the restaurant hungry.

I have eaten and socialised in the Brunswick for years as it is a lovely wee bar with a great atmosphere and lovely staff. However the food we were served last night was AWFUL! The quesadillas were burnt, one was actually black and the cajun chicken burger was overseasoned and overcooked. The presentation was non-existant...no side salads or garnish (the burger had one leaf of old lettuce in it). Your food was just just plonked on your plate. We didn't complain as I was with people I don't know that well, but I will not be eating here again unless there is a new chef.

Use to live in Glasgow and have been here many times and they have always been positive. It wasn't the case this Saturday when I visited for a friends birthday. We had booked a table for 10. When we arrived, others from our party were already there. Not normally an issue but there were no menus at the table when we sat down but everyone else had a drink. I feel like it would have made sense that menus would be on the table so that everyone can have a look while they wait for everyone else to arrive. This wasn't what was disappointing though, it was the fact we weren't given enough time to decide what we wanted once we were given the menus.A two of us had ordered nachos to share and we weren't sure if it was easier for them just to come as a starter or with the waiter said that they would only be a couple of minutes and that they can be a starter whilst we waited for the mains. Great! As I was absolutely starving. We waited and waited, definitely more than a couple of minutes, no sign of the nachos. We were approached many times to see if we wanted drinks though. Our mains eventually came along with our nachos. We were then told that there was a large table upstairs and that is why our nachos are coming with the mains. As I have mentioned , we were approached for drinks multiple times, why could they have not told us this earlier? My pizza came and it wasn't hot. I feel like the kitchen maybe us not designed for larger table. I ate it anyway but it wasn't great flavour wise either I'm afraid - a lot of tomato base but the salami and Parma added very little extra to it. No sooner had I finished my pizza did a waitress swoop in to take my plate away, whilst others at my table were still eating! THIS IS RESTAURANT SERVICE 101 - you wait until everyone at the table has finished before you clear it. I felt especially bad for my friend's girlfriend who was the last to receive her food AND ended up the only one who still had a plate as she was still eating and everyone else's plate was cleared as soon as they looked finished.Once the plates were cleared we were not offered any dessert or coffee . They're loss, I was looking forward to their Black Forest waffles. More money in my pocket I guess. Anyway, we sat and chatted whilst we ordered some more drinks. A little later the bill was put on our table, strangely no one had asked for it... Again, I feel like this is very bad service. We looked and they had only charged us for our drinks. We could have just had paid that and left but we aren't those kind of people fortunately for them and we let them know. The correct bill was eventually brought to the table and we paid up. As usual with large groups some had to pay by card. We sat for a while expecting for someone to bring the card machine over. Nope, nothing. Again eventually we went to the counter with the money and to pay the balance by card.I know we could have asked for more time before we ordered and asked for the menus to look at the dessert / just ordered them, but I feel it is more the overall lack of service with the poor food and the fact we had to correct their mistake for their benefit which has made me change my mind about this place. I will definitely not be suggesting it to anyone anymore and avoiding going to it with friends. I felt so strongly about my experience.

Had platter of Nachos between two of us then tapas style portions of squid, whitebait and Thai spring rolls all of which we superb. For dessert had the Black Cherry Eaton Mess which was absolutely delicious. Visited as a group of 12 for our Christmas lunch from the Xmas menu. Two people had been unable to pre-order their meal due to illness/holidays and on arrival at the restaurant where told the couldn't order from Xmas menu only the bar menu (they were still charged the 19.95 set menu price). One person is lactose intolerant but the chef refused to offer option and again said the could order from the bar menu. This is normally never an issue in any bar or restaurant. Starters arrived and were nice but no starter for one member who was ordering from the bar menu. Mains arrived, food ok but really dry and despite request, the gravy/juice on menu never arrived. The waiting staff were lovely and apologetic and took some money off the bill and gave everyone a future discount. Unlikely any of us will return to eat here which is a shame as we all eat and drink here and Brutti Compadres and no-one has ever experienced anything as poor as this at either establishment.

Went for lunch with friends ( including children). Was a lovely afternoon so we sat outside. The menu was very different, however wasn't a huge amount for the kids.I had a brutti bread- which is like a kind of pizza. It was really delicious! Service was pretty good, despite the place being really busy. The only real down side was that I thought for what we got it was slightly expensive.

My favourite place ever! Service is always outstanding, always friendly, staff go the extra mile to get you a table even at peak times, food is out of this world - never had a bad meal here. It's actually a really fun place to sit and eat. I've enjoyed many afternoons here for lunch and this is all down to the excellent staff.

We go here regularly.Lovely outside seating area, especially when it's sunny, in a relatively quiet street ( given it's in the heart of the city) and friendly ( if achingly cool) hipster staff, it's great for a coffee, a drink (or five) or tasty, funky food.Attached to The Brunswick Hotel, Brutti's is a small but cool and vibey bar come restaurant. Gay friendly, it's routinely full of people wearing cool spectacles and trousers which don't meet their ankles. They are genuinely friendly, however, and have a vast range of drinks, cocktails and beers.Small plates are tasty and quickly delivered. Try the 'Brutti Bread' a flatbread/ pizza hybrid with a wide range of toppings available. There's a club downstairs so.... Don't bring Auntie Mabel but do wear your best cardigan/ tattoo combo.

I've always enjoyed the atmosphere of the Brunswick bar however on our most recent visit we made the crippling mistake of trying some of the house food. Being the only place we were collectively and only common food we ate it was easy to determine the source of the groups synchronised vomiting. However even after writing to the hotel to voice our downfall they were far from sympathetic and unwilling to accept that their polluted offerings could be to blame for our 2 days of torture, pain and missed work.Avoid!

Maybe it was just a typical Sunday evening in Glasgow with lots of sunshine: After a Martini, a Rapple, and some mixed olives, we were completely ignored with no opportunity to order food. After more than 30 minutes, my partner and I paid the bill and left. The olives were great! Who knows about the rest of the menu? With no customer service, who cares?

First time in Glasgow to visit a friend who raved about this place so we all went for brunch. The interior was stunning, made me feel like I was on the continent somewhere but the food wasn't so good. The French toast was so hard you could build a house with it and the poached eggs were hard boiled. As my friend raved about the place so much we went there again the next day. Waited 20 to be served when the place was half empty, got our orders wrong, food was drowning in salt and the atmosphere just wasn't there. Maybe we were unlucky but I won't be going there again

9 of us barged in here for breakfast at the weekend and got a lovely welcome from the staff working, they couldn't do enough to keep everyone happy. Full breakfasts are usually only on the Sunday menu however the kitchen staff were more than happy to make us breakfasts as they had everything they needed. Loved that the Tap water was served in empty alcohol bottles too - great quirky wee place. Love coming here for a bite to eat.

We often visit Glasgow and this is one of our favourite haunts. Food is always brilliant, especially their Brutti Breads and tapas small plates. Their mascarpone ice-cream is to die for! My daughter is veggie and loves the selection of food available here, but meat eaters won't be disappointed. Good quality wines at reasonable prices too. The small area upstairs gets very hot as the evening goes on, so a seat downstairs is always our preference. Not the place for a romantic dinner a deux, though, as it can be very noisy and raucous, but lots of fun! Service usually quick and friendly from a young staff. Music is often very load, which adds to the atmosphere, but may not be for everybody. In good weather there are tables in an enclosed area on the pedestrian precinct outside. It is part of the Brunswick Hotel.

After living in Partick for a spell I moved back to the city centre, and this is where I spend quite a few of my evenings. I'm one of the few people I know that prefers tapas style dining to big plates with big portions. I'm indecisive so I like a lot of options. Brutti delivers. Their menu is large and mostly delicious, and their wine and liquor selection is lovely. When the weather's nice (not often I know) the outdoor seating is great, and it's tucked away in a wee courtyard so it feels hidden. Good for dates, conversation, dinner, and drinking. The staff are friendly and fast, and the food is good. You can't ask for much more than that.

Dont visit often enough but have always had a good experience and have been coming here for an age, mostly during the summer to eat outside but as in town for xmas lights ventured round expecting good food and a great ambience. From the get go our sever was rude, walking off as I was mid sentence. Querying the burger of the week received an obstructive response and a the end of the meal awaiting our change the server dilly dallied and delayed its return via a stop off at the end of the bar for a drink for herself followed by a chat with her friend and I asked if we could have our change to which she snapped "I wasn't going to keep it!" At this point we went scooped the tip back up and went to leave, my friend to find someone to speak to about the service and myself and my daughter went downstairs to the ladies. Never before have I been accosted in the toilets by a server demanding to know if they had been rude. The girl stated my friend had complained and did I have any complaints too?I outlined the reasons mentioned above and the server apologised but said she was baffled as she didn't think she had been rude in any way. Thanking her for her apology yet not feeling it was sincere we left very disappointed and can't see us rushing back especially as there are plenty other places doing exactly the same kind of thing within a stones throw and there Im sure the staff don't ignore or snap at their customers.

Hi I would give this venue 3 stars out of 5. It should have scored much higher as the food was quite lovely but we expererienced issues with the service and the music. I am all for atmosphere but if I need to should to the person sitting next to me then it is nonsense. I realise I visited on a Saturday night but still it shouldn't be ridiculous. We experienced service issues the venue was far too busy to attend to the amount of customers it had and so we had to keep asking for things that if it had been under control we should never ask for (3 times asked for a jug of water, 2 times for more drinks etc.)

I've been going to this bar for several years and LOVE it! However... the last 3 times I've been there's been a problem with the bill. The waiting staff were apologetic but the 2nd and 3rd time we asked to speak to the manager as we felt this to be more than a mistake... Last night was the 3rd time and that's when we decided we will not be back. I don't think I've ever come across such an arrogant person who is clearly not suited to customer service. (David??). We were made to feel it was our fault and ashamed to have mentioned it in the first place!Personally I am gutted. I've introduced many people to the Brunswick, friends from far and wide, and have always loved the vibe, eclectic mix of people, varied menu, etc etc. but I'm really unhappy that we were treated this way for a SECOND time. I will now have to find somewhere else to call my local. :-(

My wife and I visited on Bank Holiday Monday having been turned away from another restaurant close by as they didn’t have a table for us. We were greeted and seated straight away here although there weren’t many tables available. We opted for mixed olives and a small dish of chorizo for starters. Both were nicely done.We then had a black olive “sauced” thin pizza style dish and the Cajun chicken burger. Couldn’t fault the pizza and the burger was very tasty although perhaps could benefit from a sauce of sorts even just on the side.No desserts but we had four drinks from an impressive selection and the price was still reasonable.Word of warning – I kind of dismissed the “dogs welcome” sign on the front door but by the time I left there were 3 in my vicinity. Whether I agree with the policy or not is neither here nor there. I was warned so make up your own mind.If that isn’t a problem for you I’d suggest a visit because the food and service were both great.

I've been to Brutti ma Buoni a couple of times, and it's well worth a visit if you're in the area. The brutti are smallish pizzas - not really enough for a main course on their own if you're hungry. But they're really well made and have a genuine Italian comfort food feel to them. The waiting staff are extremely polite and friendly - a credit to the restaurant. Brutta? No no no. Bella for sure. Was in about a month ago just after the new year and had a lovely meal! We started off with some really tasty olives and soon enough the mains arrived. My partner had a well-cooked steak and I had a Moroccan dish that was on the specials menu. Both dishes were very tasty and hit the spot. The atmosphere was buzzing as usual and lots of people were enjoying themselves. Normally they have some rather interesting art on the walls though on this occasion the choice of art was rather bland (I guess the gold and black panels on display were temporary Xmas decorations - I hope so anyway...). What did disturb me though was that the place apparently is 'proud to serve WEST beer'. Brutti is sadly not alone in this to be fair. The stuff is widely available these days though it's brewed in Germany and then sold in the UK as a Glasgow lager according to news reports so am not sure why you would be proud to serve something like that. However, I really do like Brutti ma Buoni and am looking forward to my next visit.

OK, so they do more than chips. The brutti pizzas are great - very thin with tasty toppings and the tapas are good value on a Monday and Tuesday. The crab pasta on the special menu was lovely. But the chips... skinny, golden brown, tasting of hot oil (in a good way). Chips that have never seen an oven. Chips like my mother in law makes - and there is no higher praise than that.

Thoroughly disappointed with this place. Feel this bar been overshadowed now in every respect by it's sister retaurant/bar. Booked table(as it was Friday). Ordered the pizza like bread which was tasty but a bit expensive for nine pounds. What was most disappointing was the tapas style dishes. The chilli was lukewarm and had little taste. The chickpea and spinach dish had an overwhelming taste of bisto! My partner agreed. Looked at menu and doesn't specify vegetarian so beware. I like this place but perhaps in future it will be only for a drink.Could not recommend for food.

Apologies in advance but Im in a brevity is best phase.Had drinks in this well stocked and lively bar many times and was always impressed by what I saw going out of the kitchen, so on a sunny lazy Sunday afternoon my son, wife and I finally got to eat here. This is not fine dining, the décor is basic, the ambience fine and the menu switches between , burgers , ugly(actually misshaped rather than ugly) pizza and mexican/spanish/mediteranean style dishes. We all had bruschetta to begin( enjoyed by all ), then beef quescadillas, made from scratch on the premises cheeseburger and a cheese and tomato ultra thin pizza, with fantastic thinly cut by hand chips with creamy cheesey jalapeno dipping sauce. All in with drinks £55 , afforable tasty and plate lickingly good.As the name implies this place is ugly but very good, consider adding food to the drinks next time.
