Da vi boede på hotellet fik vi både aftensmad og morgenmad her. Det var dejlig med, selvom de lige havde glemt kylling til en gang risotto. Vi nød maden og bestilte dejlig dessert.

We had our family Christmas afternoon tea here. Eleven adults and two energetic children. Food was excellent and plentiful with a good variety to choose from. There was a never ending supply of tea and coffee. They even supplied some soup for the youngest child. Nothing was too much for the staff who were polite, friendly, efficient and helpful without being obstrusive. Will definitely be back.

We booked in to the hotel overnight and also for dinner. What a good decision! The food was outstanding! A fabulous fish pie and sensational fish and chips. Delicious starters and desserts too. Attentive and friendly staff and great ambience. We loved it. Breakfast the next morning was also excellent. Would highly recommend!

Food and service were excellent. Great gluten free options. Had the dinner special with the sauce changed to a gf option and it was delicious.

I enjoyed my visit. I had the duck breast , which was very good. I’m not usually a fan of duck breast, so that tells you how good it was. there was nothing else on the menu I wanted . I was going to order the salmon, but they told me it was farm raised when I enquired. I appreciate their honesty. The pain au chocolate bread pudding was also very good. Service was a bit spotty. They were preparing for a party of 40. Atmosphere was nice

We booked to go to Browns Restaurant on Sunday 10th September and are we glad we did :) The staff were so welcoming and professional and nothing was too much trouble. We had 3 perfectly presented and cooked courses that tasted so good and all for a very reasonable cost. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area :)

Went here for dinner after completing the West Highland Way. Lovely food, attentive staff, a real treat. After quite a lot of pub grub along the walk, this was a delicious meal with some lovely vegetables.

Lovely restaurant, from the service to the food. Attracted by the name of the restaurant being my surname we enjoyed it.

Food excellent only downside was inattentive serving staff, with 3 talking at the bar for several minutes which meant actually going up to the bar to order another drink mid meal.

I really don’t get the top reviews of this place. The food was nothing special, just average. The cod and lamb dish we got as main course will not get a special place in our memory, the cod not in the least because of the ridiculously small portion. The espresso I ordered to finish my dinner was just awful. The performance of the restaurant personnel also had a high degree of “Fawlty Towers” : one waitor simply could not remember the wine we and other guests had ordered (he was sent back not less than three times during our visit because he managed repeatedly to bring the wrong wine at the guests’ table). When cleaning one of the tables, the salt var was catapulted through the dining room with a lot of noise. The final act consisted of a very young waitor who was simply not capable of calculating the tip when I gave him the total amount I wanted to pay. “OMG, this device asks me to add a tip in GBP and I just can’t figure out what the difference is between the amount you would like to pay and the initial amount of the bill”. We released the poor guy from his challenge and shared the amount he had to key in with him. Was this an “off-day” of the restaurant? Anyhow, unfortunately this time a dinner experience to quickly forget.

We verbleven in het hotel en hadden voor 's Avonds een tafeltje gereserveerd. Het eten was gewoon goed maar wel prijzig. De hertenburger was lekker, al was de charred kaas een beetje jammer. De fish en chips waren goed. De toetjes waren een beetje klein maar wel lekker. Ook hier was het personeel een beetje gereserveerd waardoor ze niet erg vriendelijk leken.

The food was ok, not amazing. Husband had the Caesar salad and it was goopy. Charged a lot for a vegan salad and added chicken for a fee but no bacon or egg. Couldn’t justify the cost at all. Very expensive.

Had wonderful food-well presented and very tasty. Service was both pleasant and helpful. Only small drawback was our table which was next to the door to reception which was propped open and turned into a thoroughfare for people leaving the hotel.

We are a family of nine and we dined here on 23rd December. Varied choices from the menu but everything was delicious. The service was great and the waiting staff couldn’t have been better. We are looking forward to visiting again.

I am now writing a review on our disappointing evening at Browns in August 2021. Initially it took 15 minutes to be served after being seated. When our drinks arrived after a further 10 minutes, my pint of beer was flat. I decided to put up with it but in reflection I should have sent it back. We were sat directly under the air conditioning unit which was blowing out freezing cold air and was not comfortable to sit in. My partner had to keep her jacket on for the entire duration of our visit. We ordered a sirloin steak medium/well done and when it arrived it was extremely rare and blood surrounded the plate when it was cut into. Instead of staff coming to check if everything was alright, we were the ones who had to grab staff attention to raise the issue. To be fair the staff and chef apologised and cooked us another steak while keeping our other food warm. When the food arrived back it was much better. We felt as though the servers were lovely, very apologetic and did attend to our problems, however we had to wait for long periods of time between them coming to the table. We went out for a meal the following evening in another restaurant in Fort William which came to less then half the price of our meal at Browns and the standard was far higher so I would recommend going elsewhere if considering where to eat in Fort William. I wrote to Browns on 30/08/21 on the feedback section of their website to raise my concerns privately however received no response from them. I feel as though I have given Browns plenty of time to contact me to discuss and rectify my concerns although they obviously feel as though this is not necessary. Poor customer service.

Four of us all had different main courses and different desserts, chosen from an enticing and varied menu. Every dish was exceptional. We could not have asked for a more delicious meal. Thank you! The service was very good, too - everything served promptly and with a smile (evident even through a mask!)

I won't be too harsh as the food was very nice in the main. Very pricey, which I don't mind if the service and food is good. Unfortunately the restaurant had no atmosphere, no music playing at all, we could just hear the staff chatting. The staff were polite enough but no skills whatsoever, when you dine at a four star restaurant, you don't expect the server to tell you to pass your plate down the table. When we left we walked past two servers, none of which even bothered to say goodbye or thank you. It's a shame as the restaurant itself is well laid out and comfortable with a modern twist.

Reached the end of West Highland Way and stayed for two days in Fort William. Enjoyed a good dinner. First evening the goat cheese and haddock. Second evening terrine foie gras and the salmon. Good taste. Friendly staff. Ended with a glass of single malt.

The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was good. I am a diagnosed coeliac and and they offered a good range of dishes with others that could be amended if required.

Forgot to cancel a table, human error god forbid. Got a HORRIBLE, UNPROFESSIONAL phone call from the ‘manager’ of the restaurant, shouting at me for forgetting to cancel the table. I explained calmly that this was human error and he proceeded to hang up the phone on me numerous times while I was trying to explain myself. I will NOT be visiting this restaurant, nor do I recommend anyone to if this is how they treat their customers. Disgusting attitude.

My partner & I had dinner in the restaurant last night. We were quickly greeted & shown to our table. The restaurant wasn’t terribly busy & initially service was ok, however the waiting staff became less attentive as the evening went on. The complimentary bread was delicious,& the starters were much enjoyed. We asked for the wine list as our mains were delivered & this was brought to the table, however no one actually returned to the table to take our wine order. The duck skin wasn’t crispy & the pancetta cubes were hard & over cooked making them inedible. The cod skin wasn’t crispy & the samphire was over cooked. The champ was under seasoned. Both mains looked & tasted like they hadn’t been cooked fresh, which is a shame as both dishes were tasty. I had an Irish coffee which was pleasant,& my partner had the cheese board which was also ok. We ended up asking for the bill after being ignored for some time after finishing our meal. I don’t really understand the excellent reviews for Brown’s as we found it rather average. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend.

Great food, great service! When you done with pub food and cooking in your tent, spoil yourself with something special. Best meal all week!

We came here as the last dinner of our 2 weeks holiday. It turns out to be the first review that I write about Meals during the holiday. It is attached to a proper hotel, offering a wide range of menu. Serving staff behaves as those in a high class restaurant. Tables are set with substantial distance. I am unsure if it is usual or as fully respecting the rules of social distancing. We ordered mussels and chicken parfait as starters. We are very fond of mussels and this is the best we have ever had. The quality of the mussel is a rare find and it came in a big portion, unique sauce and is inexpensively priced. The other dish was very good too. We ordered for each of us a seafood platter, which is of satisfying portion. All dishes are surprisingly priced at most at the medium range of moderately priced restaurants. Together with a glass of wine my wife ordered, it ended up with a bill less than 60. I believe we would return for most evenings of our next visit to Fort William to try out other dishes.

Lucky to get booked into this restaurant on a Saturday evening as is really busy ... The staff fell over themselves to help us even though it was 9pm and they had obviously been very busy...The full meal, drinks, staff and atmosphere were spot on... Definitely recommend the steak..Book in advance,This restaurant is also attached to a hotel and in a central position, so maybe worth enquiry if your thinking of staying in fort William...

Stayed at Nevis Bank Inn and ate at Brown’s restaurant after finishing the West Highland Way this week. I have coeliac, and was very impressed with the choices open to me. The food was amazing. Beautifully presented and delicious. Lovely staff too. Places like this set the standard for Scottish hospitality. I would highly recommend Brown’s and will return again.

My partner and I had dinner here, while staying in Fort William. The staff were lovely, the food was beautiful and the desert was amazing. The prices are reasonable for the quality of food. I would return to this restaurant and I would highly recommend it.

We visited the restaurant on Friday 23 July and despite arriving a little after the official 9.30pm time for ordering food, the staff could not have been any more helpful and accommodating. And when the food arrived it was amazing with just as much effort as if we’d been the first customers of the night and not the last. I ordered the beef rib and it literally melted in my mouth. And the Scottish gin selection was also amazing. We’d been away for 8 nights doing the North Coast 500 and had eaten in a different place every night and Browns was tying in first place with Peets in Lochinver however Browns just snatched an outright win for serving their amazing gin in proper gin glasses! I honestly can’t praise the staff , the excellent service and the great food enough

I went to that restaurant recently based on TripAdvisor reviews, well I shouldn’t have. To start, the bread is one of the worst I ever had even if it was a nice gesture to give some. I went for the burger and it was really bad, no taste, steak too oily... I can’t speak for the other dishes but seeing the ingredients used for the burger and the preparation I can’t believe it would be any good.Honestly, i’m sorry to say that but a fast food would have been better and much less expensive. I still can’t understand why it’s rated so high!If the personnel reads this, try the food going out of the kitchen and potentially change the chef.

Dined here two evenings during a stay at the hotel. The quality of the food is excellent and prepared by a chef who clearly takes tremendous pride in their work. The menu has loads of gluten free options which was great. Great wine serviced also. Highly recommended.

The food was great…that’s where the positivity ends. The service, the atmosphere and the quality of decor was not great and we will not be returning. Regarding the service, I think I speak for a lot of people here but I am fed now of walking into a restaurant and one of the staff shouting from across the room ‘have you got a mask’ whilst miming a mask on their face in front of a packed restaurant. To which I replied ‘I am exempt’ to then be yelled at again by the staff member ‘do you have proof?’ to which I reluctantly pulled out my exemption certificate to show the whole restaurant. That set the tone. Usually when service is bad it’s because of lack of staff, however this place seemed to have a lot staff doing very little or not really knowing what they were supposed to be doing. Younger staff members hanging around not making eye contact even when you’re trying to get their attention. They seemed nervous and uncomfortable and two older staff members doing most of the work albeit with very little pleasure. No one seemed happy to work there. The decor is dated and really really cheap. The tables are too high for the seats. The table area we were given was right by the kitchen, bar, staff service area and very unappealing. Not very intimate for an anniversary meal, they should have just said they were fully booked instead of having this table available. We weren’t keen on staying longer than we needed to because of how uninspiring the whole experience was and we wanted to move onto a nice bar we knew was closing in 45mins. When we tried to ask the waitress for the bill but she waved her hand and told us to wait for 2 seconds. I couldn’t believe it. Then low and behold she forgot. And we had to ask again. 20mins it took to pay the bill!I truly believe this review will make no difference to the service as this restaurant thrives on the fact that this area is a tourist haven and there isn’t a huge array of dining options and so they know they don’t really need to make much effort as passing trade will always be there. So they only need people to go once. The only saving grace is that it’s not expensive. Feel bad for the chef as the food is great Needless to say we won’t be back or recommending.

There was nothing really wrong with the food we had - it was quite well cooked. But it lacked finesse and inspiration.The chocolate dessert got full marks for presentation but didn't have much taste. The word "biscotti' appeared in the menu description but the supplied Lotus biscuit didn't have a whiff of Italian about it. Sums up the whole meal, really.On the plus side, service was friendly and brisk. But for goodness sake get rid of the loud and annoying service chime!

I cannot praise thus place enough. The service was relaxed and friendly. Our waiter recommended the special starter of fried haggis balls. He was 100per cent right. They were sensational.

Decent menu and food was ok. We was looking forward to the deserts here as they all sounded delicious but we were underwhelmed as the taste was pretty bland. I think the main problem here was how drab the restaurant felt which is weird because the decor and fittings are very modern and tasteful. We decided it was down to the depressing background music and weird holiday camp bell every time the waiters were called to serve a meal. An easy fix but surprised that a restaurant that has clearly spent a lot of money to impress makes errors like this.

My cousin was staying at the hotel, so we suggested trying the restaurant as we had just walked halfway up Big Ben.... they were fully booked but offered us an early sitting but we were limited to 2 hours which was plenty for a bottle of wine & a mains.....Menu is adequate as anything larger would make choosing harder!I had the seafood platter & my wife had the 'special' of Langoustines, fresh from Loch Linnhe, superb quality & excellent size portions.Service was impeccable so we decided to rebook 2 days later & again the food & service did not disappoint.Highly recommended.Thank you for looking after us.

Had dinner here two nights ago having chosen it from tripadvisor and it turned out to be less than 5 minutes walk from our accommodation which was great. The old style bistro is well laid out with plenty of space between tables and screens between them to fit with current regulations. The ambience is smart but relaxed and the staff are welcoming and attentive from the moment you walk in. In fact although all the staff were great but Aileen stood out and utterly made our night. If we were staying her longer I would go back but only on a night she was working. We were allowed to taste some wines to help us to make our choice for a bottle and the food was gorgeous, especially the mussels I had to start and the chef added samphire to my seafood platter when I asked for it.

This restaurant really was a lucky find! We booked in advance to make sure of getting somewhere. The Trip Advisor recommendations were more than justified. Great atmosphere. All the staff were good but Aileen had “top banter” and put up with me being “Mr Fussy Pants”. We had a superb bottle of wine. My wife’s starter of mussels - delicious sauce and very succulent - mega portion. My haggis bon bons were really tasty too. I had pork with crispy bacon, sweet potato purée and savoy. Very tender, needed a tiny touch of seasoning, but once added, twas a top dish! Couldn’t manage a dessert! Too stuffed. Bill was very reasonable! Best place we ate in Fort William

Modern plate glass window extension at the front of an hotel. Well distanced tables and constantly wiped and cleaned tables. Shortish menu, plenty of variety and competently done.

We were impressed on arrival with the stylishly furnished modern bistro style restaurant. Covid disciplines were good with tables well spaced and separated by well designed screens. From the varied menu we selected the pan fried fillet of salmon with parmesan crusted potatoes, coconut chutney and lime emulsion (£15.95) and pollo e pancetta with linguine (£14.95). Both were well enjoyed with the pasta dish over flowing with plenty of large pieces of chicken and chunks of pancetta. A fancy apple tart with ice cream finished an excellent meal.

Great staff, lovely restaurant, absolutely superb food! Tip top restaurant - do not miss! Really good choice of food and all totally delish!

Visited Bowns for a belated 70th birthday meal, and everything was first class. Attention to COVID requirements, menu, meal quality and service could not be faulted

We had a lovely meal here. The welcome was outstanding, the food was excellent and the social distancing was perfectAfter the meal we decided to try a couple of whiskies; something that we had never done before. Not only did they have a "book of whisky" but one of the members of staff was very knowledgeable. She helped us chose and taught us how to drink it - not as daft as it sounds. We probably had one too many but left Browns with a warm feeling and glad that we went

We are here for our first meal of our holiday and I have to say nothing compared for the rest of the trip. Reasons for 5 stars, well firstly the staff are amazing, friendly and go above and beyond to make you feel like the only people in the restaurant. Secondly they are extremely accommodating for gluten free requirements and could alter the menu to suit what I wanted. I honestly think I could have eaten there every night of my trip and still had the great experience.

Visited on a quiet Sunday night, nice atmosphere and lovely staff. Was very impressed initially with haggis Bon bons. However the main for both of us was quite a let down, ordered slow cooked beef rib - of which there was a lot of fat on display which was slightly off-putting - and also the beef burger which was okay but nothing special. I did appreciate that a member of staff offered to replace my main meal to which I declined. Enjoyed the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Overall enjoyed starter and dessert but just wasn’t value for money due to the disappointing main meal.

Mi pechuga de pollo con papas y espárragos, era divina con mucho sabor. Los postres también eran increíbles. Lo recomiendo encarecidamente.

Food is nice, wait staff is warm and not pushy. Not crowded due to the season. Somewhat expensive though.

Our daughter’s wedding party all stayed here and couldn’t have been happier. Spacious, comfortable rooms. Beautifully clean. Staff exceptional. All staff from cleaners to reception unbelievably friendly and helpful. Nothing phased them despite us taking up a lot of space in the bar and restaurant! Food good and plentiful. Well done everybody.

We visitited Brown's last night for a family meal, 6 of us altogether 2 of which were children. Each and everyone of us had a beautiful meal, a great choice on the menu for adults and kids. Food and presentation were both faultless. Perfect meal.

Vine aquí para el almuerzo de 3 platos de Navidad y café después, ¡la comida más rápida de todas! Y se olvidaron de las verduras, había unos 10 de nosotros, nadie tenía verduras, nuestro budín ni siquiera estaba a medio terminar cuando tomaron café. ¡No estaba tan impresionado, sentí que nos querían fuera a pesar de que el lugar estaba vacío!

We stayed at adjacent Nevis Bank Inn and enjoyed the meals at Browns Restaurant. Not an Italian restaurant but I saw Carbonara on the menu and it was the best I have had in a while. Sticky Toffee pudding was also a must.

Super resto, cadre sympa, repas très bon, original et personnel tres attentif. Avec une mention spéciale pour le serveur qui parle un français excellent.

We booked an evening table at Browns whilst staying in Fort William for a few days. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Choice of menu was very good and all food was lovely. Would definitely recommend this restaurant - very pleasant setting and surroundings.

Ate here for two nights as it was so good first night. Service was outstanding. Food delicious. Can recommend the fish pie, lamb, beef and steak.

Ignorant as we are about local affairs we chose to visit Fort William on the weekend where they had the Rat Run, The Shinty final and the Trip-Athlon. It was a bit crowded.

We enjoyed an evening meal here. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was very tasty and presented well. We did however, find it a bit on the pricey side for what we had. There were no choice of ales which was a shame as we would have expected perhaps a celebration of a local brewery's ale. It seemed necessary to book as we saw lots of people being turned away.

I had great food. I tried the mini haggis for the hell of it, was awesome. Fish and chips, good even by U.K. standards. On a side note, I had the "Jacobite Ale." Good stuff. I noticed the staff was hopping, and 'On the bog." A phrase I heard three decades ago meaning " solid, and up to snuff I guess?

Food was ok. Staff was sweet. But it is way to pricy for a standard restaurant experience. Not affordable for a regular person which is really sad.

I ate here with 6 friends, the restaurant was really busy, but service was quick. The food was of a high standard, and no one had a meal they didn't enjoy. The puds looked lovely as well.

We had an excellent evening ... fine wining and dining ... highly recommended .... try the Haggis Starter (when in Rome!) ... lovely jovely.

Tiene una carta con comida de buena calidad a un precio medio/alto. El servicio el día que nosotros cenamos fue mas bien lento, no habiendo excesivo número de clientes en el restaurante. En cualquier caso es un restaurante recomendable.

Booked Browns for my wifes birthday while staying in Fort William. Asked if they could organise a balloon and a cake, no problem I was told and they didn't even charge me for it! Lovely meals and attentive staff without being over bearing. Would certainly recommend this place for a night out.

We ate here as part of a large group (24) travelling through Scotland, and it was hands down the best meal we had. Additionally, the staff was the friendliest and most professional we encountered. The hotel prepared a fixed menu for us, so we enjoyed Haggis bonbons glazed with red onion marmalade, grain mustard and whiskey cream sauce; Goat cheese mousse with pickled carrots, pomegranate seeds and chick peas; Pan-fried fillet of salmon with pea risotto, potato tuile and lemon garlic butter dressing; Cider-braised pork belly with creamy mashed potatoes, buttered greens and caramelized apple jus; sticky toffee pudding with ice cream and warm toffee sauce; pannacotta with fresh berries and shortbread. Every single thing was just as delicious as the description sounds.

Booked to eat here with my 6 friends. The food was very good. I had the slow cooked beef rib which was superb.
