We called in yesterday (2 adults & 3 kids) Everything about our visit was great, we were served by a really lovely lady (Angela) who was incredibly helpful and friendly, the food was amazing - I opted for the chicken & leek pie from the lunch menu - it was delicious - the kids really enjoyed theirs aswell. Too good an experience not to mention on here. Thank you. 😊

The staff were absolutely excellent!we went for lunch and stayed all afternoon into the evening the service was so so good. The food was good cheeseboard disappointing but everything else was fabulous.

I had lunch with my family and some friends on Easter Monday and had a great time. It was the first time here, very happy with pretty much everything, from the food (I had fish which was fresh and well coooked), to the service (fast and extremely friendly). And the atmosphere in general is also super nice. What a great found!

We had an excellent Easter Monday lunch today, my roast was really tasty and cooked to perfection. All the staff were extremely friendly and made us feel welcome. Service was quick. The place itself is also very nice and the atmosphere is great. I would definitely recommend this place and will be coming back soon!

Great atmosphere. Delicious fries and apricot Mai Tai! The cheese board is not worth it though, very small and the selection of cheeses is not the best. But I would come back 😊

Popped into Browns for a meal and wasn't disappointed. The vibe's classy but relaxed, and the grub? Top-notch. Had the steak and it was cooked to perfection, melt in your mouth stuff. Having made a reservation for afternoon tea we were seated on a table in the window with a lovely view of the Thames. Sadly the service fell well below expectations. I asked for some tap water. I had to remind the waiter before he brought it. Only two loose leaf teas were on offer: English breakfast and Earl Grey. I would have expected a much wider range including for example: Darjeeling, Assam, Lap sang su chong. I ordered English breakfast. After it had arrived I realised it was from a tea bag. When I queried this I was informed the loose leaf tea had run out. The afternoon tea then arrived, beautifully presented with some candles as it was my wife's birthday. Unfortunately the waiter forgot to bring any plates, which were certainly required to eat the scones with jam. One of us had to get up and find a member of staff to ask for some plates. The scones and cakes were of good quality. However the bread for the sandwiches was processed white. Would have expected sour dough for the price. In the bathroom the dryer was fitted too close to the wall so you banged your hands when trying to dry them. Finally when we asked for the bill, we again had to get up to ask again with three staff chatting at the till. All in all what could have been a lovely experience was spoiled by inconsistent quality of ingredients and sloppy service.

Passing through this restaurant during our vacation, it was a nice surprise! The interior setting is magnificent, the exterior setting offers views of the Thames. The waitress, smiling, professional and very kind. The atmosphere was very pleasant. We loved the food on offer and left with a full stomach, it was delicious. Thanks again for the candle for my mother's birthday. Best wishes !

This is a double review. I visited this place for the first time in December’23 by myself and was escorted to a lovely corner table with amazing river view. I had booked for afternoon tea but I wanted some me time too and when I asked the server Angela how long the seating is for, she was so kind and let me seat as long as I wanted to but did make sure every now and then to check if I wanted more drink refills. I sat there for nearly 3 hours. On 25/02/24 I went with my family and it was Angela serving us again and all I could do was be thankful for her kindness. This time we were celebrating family friend’s wedding anniversary and Angela made sure my request of surprising the couple was accommodated. She even suggested us the elderflower & pear tea which was amazing to cleanse our palate. If you looking for something in the city without the Hustle bustle of the city than this place is highly recommended as you are never rushed and always feel welcomed.

Manager Paul was wonderful. All the team here are great but Paul was a stand out. What a credit to Browns. As a Hospitality Director this is the exact Manager I would want leading my teams. This man deserves all the credit. We shall return weekly as our experience was just superb. Thank you Paul and team 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Stopped in for bottomless brunch and everything was lovely. Care taken for allergies. Food was impeccable. Drinks delectable and the staff were professional and personable. Manager Paul was absolutely wonderful, thank you. We will be back!

We visited Browns on a relatively quiet Saturday night - there were only a handful of other people dining in. We found the service to be very poor. It took 20 minutes for someone to come and take our order and even then they told us they could only take a drinks order and would have to come back for food. It felt like a long time between eventually ordering and the food coming out. No one came over to ask if we wanted any more drinks or to ask if our meal was ok. There were plenty of staff but they were stood around chatting. We had to flag someone down to ask for the bill and even then we were ignored. After waiting another 20 minutes we decided to go to the bar to ask to pay the bill. Food was ok but the menu has recently become more limited. Wasn’t worth the price or the service charge. Sadly I think the staff are lazier because they know they’re guaranteed the service charge and don’t have to work for the tip.

Brought my elderly mother for an afternoon tea to celebrate both her birthday and Mother’s Day. We had a lovely time, Afternoon Tea was lovely and very good value. Staff were wonderful and very attentive.

Came here for a roast dinner on Mother’s Day. Was attended to by several colleagues but Anna was our main server. Service and food were excellent, couldn’t have asked for a better experience. If only the weather could have been as kind to us, but the warmth and friendly atmosphere more than made up for that. Recommended.

Yesterday we celebrated my friends 60 th at browns and they couldn't do enough for us. It made the experience unforgettable. Alex was particularly attentive but all The staff need to be praised for wonderful service The food was great too !

Booked a table for 4 adults and 2 children for a 70th birthday meal and we had a lovely table near the window. The restaurant is in a fab spot by the river, beautiful views, although lots of groups of youths gathered outside when we left. Service was good and lots of choice on the menu. Kids menu also good. Asked for water and they gave us bottled when we only wanted tap water and it was £5 a bottle! Wine was good. We all had 3 courses and everyone was happy with their choices. Only downside I would say was that the atmosphere was a bit flat.

Angela was always smiling and friendly. Fast service and delicious food!

It was a wonderful time! Angela the waitress made sure we were comfortable and attentively took our order. Everything came right after our order. Although the place was not busy at all. It was a Sunday morning! One of the benedict the inside of the egg did not melt, so it would be perfect if was melting when you cut it but still was delicious. We loved the freshly made pastries. They were perfect!

The waiting staff could use some smile. Not very welcoming. But food was okay for the price.

I had leaving drinks. they arranged an area in the bar for us, I ordered wine and beer and it was set up so nicely tablecloth too! so very professionally done. Staff are really helpful and friendly. Thank you so much everyone I couldn't have asked for better! I would recommend to anyone!

Was so good we will be talking about it for ages. Our waiter was Alex he was super friendly and service was amazing.

Great spot with lovely views. Restaurant is nice inside and is huge but has separate areas so doesn’t feel big. We had our starters (they were ok, nothing special) and we ordered sourdough but this was not sourdough bread in any shape or form and was chewy and inedible so we returned this. A big issue was as soon as the plates were taken, literally within 10 seconds (no exaggeration it was probably 5 seconds!!), the mains arrived. We refused them as it was utterly ridiculous. The restaurant was not busy at all so there was no need for such a rush. They dealt with this really well and took them away without question and the waiting staff here are excellent. Throughout our meal, they are extremely attentive and friendly. We really enjoyed our mains. The only thing that stopped us staying for an extra bottle was that we were in an area with over 10-12 tables and once the group of 6 left, there was nobody in our section so had no ambience whatsoever. We decided to go elsewhere. This was a Saturday afternoon! We might go back in the summer as the restaurant is in a lovely spot and might be busier in the summer. Tip - go on their website and just sign up to their VIP club. We all did and all got a free glass of Moët ;-)

We love Browns and come here regularly. As locals it is a gem set a little further along the main tourist trail of the jetty but still with a lovely view and good food. Alex always looks after us and is a credit to the team.

I recently had the pleasure of dinning at Brown’s cafe, and I must express my gratitude for the exceptional service provided by Sarvesh. In addition to his professional attributes, their friendly and approachable nature created a welcoming atmosphere. Beyond the service, the food at Browns Cafe was exquisite. Except the Gnoccis all our food of a groupe of nine was excellent friendly staff...nice ambience especially next to the river in the summer.

Our table for 2 was situated in the bar area. The interior, quiet location and view were excellent. The food was well prepared, fresh and well presented. Staff were professional and eager to ask for feedback, which is a good sign and shows they care. A good experience overall driven particularly by the interior environment and view.

Brilliant welcoming and friendly service from Paul, we had a delicious brunch and there were lots of other options which sounded great too. Would love to come back, shame we’re flying home today.

Had a late breakfast here. The view is wonderful and the food was fantastic. It is a very nice place to start your day while visiting the tower bridge and area attractions. It has great views to take pictures of the tower bridge from the wharf.

We had a delicious meal here on New Year's Eve, this time completely vegetarian. And that was also very good. Beautiful location on the Thames, cozy and warm atmosphere inside with friendly and polite staff. In addition to dinner, also highly recommended for afternoon tea.

Horrendous experience with mice running around our feet after eating. This was our local favourite but so disappointed in the lack of shock from staff when showing & telling them the chain of events. Will not be attending anymore. Disgusted. 100% needs a inspection before someone is incredibly ill!!!

Well I was disappointed I'm afraid. I arrived on New Year's Day for lunch. It was pretty quiet and we were easily accommodated despite not having booked. I ordered the beef flank which came with red cabbage, sprouts and mash. When my plate arrived with no sprouts I thought I had misread the menu so I queried it. The waitress told me that they hadn't got any so they had given me extra red cabbage! It's a good job I like red cabbage isn't it, since I wasn't asked if this would be an acceptable substitution. I also had no way of gauging if this had really been the case since the red cabbage portion was pretty small anyway. I had asked for the mash to be swapped for chips which would have been fine had they not been cold on arrival. But the real disappointment was the beef. It was presented in a kind of small pile, the top very dark and overcooked and chewy, as if it had been reheated from the night before. I should really have sent the whole meal back but that would have required energy I didn't have. With a very nice glass of red, the bill was £37. I think this is not good enough. If you are not in a position to offer food of the same quality day-after-day regardless of the night before, then you should be offering a smaller menu of items you know you can deliver to the expected quality. I often come in when I'm on the South Bank. I hope this is a rare blip and not how things are.

I had sirloin steak and my friends had burger & lamb steak. The lamb steak and burger were both very small but I liked my own steak although I ordered medium well and got more a medium/medium rare. The creamed mash was meh but the mushroom was good. The staff are friendly but they ask too many questions too many times and it gives a touristy atmosphere vibe very much. The price is also high for the place.

We booked Xmas lunch and in fact had Xmas lunch last year at Browns. It was excellent, food superb, service fantastic. Atmosphere brilliant we will Definitely return not only for Christmas but during the year. Well done Browns

We had a really lovely evening celebrating Christmas with our extended family in their warm, spacious private room with a view! The whole experience was fantastic. I had great communication from Ivan, who was so helpful from my first inquiry through to finalising our menu choices. On the night, Alex looked after us brilliantly and made sure we could just relax and enjoy our time together- he really made our evening. As for the food itself, we had a wide variety of dishes from the Dark Nights Occasions menu between us and everyone said how delicious they were. Special mention is due to the vegan main on the menu which was far and away the best vegetarian option I’ve ever tasted from a set menu, and felt like it was equally worth the price tag which unfortunately is not the case for the veggie options everywhere. We are grateful to everyone at Browns Butlers Wharf for making our evening so special, we hope to return next year!

We wanted to say a huge thank you to Angela for helping us host the best Christmas dinner yet! Serving 45 people is no easy task and you smashed it out of the park from our arrival to when we left. Your hosting skills and attention to detail made our experience so enjoyable. You are a credit to the browns chain. I want to mention this score is solely based on our experience from Angela and the chef. The general manager trying to assert his authority at the end of our meal stating we need to leave even though dessert and cheese course wasn’t served yet wasn’t appreciated or necessary, maybe you should have provided Angela additional servers to support her and then you would have met the allocated time frame you gave. To then blame Angela for slow service in our eyes was unfair and unjustified. She needs to be commended for her service that day, she would be the only reason we would come back as post the general managers comments she could see we was frustrated and smoothed the situation over. Give this lady a lot of praise! She deserves it! Thank you Angela for making our Christmas meal amazing!
