Browns in Liverpool

From start to finish it was 5 star. Paige was lovely and looked after us so well, nothing was a problem, very calm, and her helpers Lee and not sure of the other girls name were all great ! food was excellent, and the privacy for my 30 people eating upstairs was good for my party, everyone commented on top the service and you did me proud.

Came for my birthday and had a great experience. Our waitress Natalia was lovely and couldn't do enough for us. Even sorted a small birthday treat for desert.

Friendly staff. We'd just come on as lunch menu started so it took a while to get the pie I'd ordered. But it was worth the wait.

So good we returned the next day. Even without va reservation they fitted us in with minimal fuss. Great food.

Loved the environment and decor, Emily our waitress was amazing with fantastic attention to ensuring our anniversary experience was everything we hoped for. The chef also swapped some Sandwiches at short notice as my wife doesn’t eat fish. Thank you all round.

Our server Gary was delightful. Had a lovely traditional English breakfast. Lovely restaurant with great decor but casual vibe.

Stood in a queue to order my pint of Guinness but the bartender chose to skip me. After he chose to serve the group who clearly was behind me, I left and when to another pub. Will never come back here!

We had a great Easter roast at Browns in Liverpool, along with some great cocktails. The service from Gary was excellent and the atmosphere in the dry was relaxed and efficient. Highly recommend

Had a afternoon tea which was excellent. I did not expect to pay £6.50 for a pi Pot of tea, the menu stated that the afternoon tea was accompanied by unlimited tea or coffee. This spoiled the day somewhat

Had the Shepard’s pie, more lamb in a tin of cat food … 45 minutes to get a drink after we sat down very over priced for mediocre food

What a beautiful place. We had the set lunchtime menu which is good value. The food was delicious, good size portions. Lovely place and the staff were very good. Special thanks to Emily.

We had afternoon tea and were incredibly disappointed. We were supposed to have 2 of every sandwich. And got 1 x smoked salmon which was dry, no egg at all, 5 prawn with no lettuce, lots of Mary rose sauce but hardly any prawns, 2 cheese and 1 ham. My daughter is a pescatarian so I accept the ham, but she’d have had no problem with all the others. I complained about the lack of egg & smoked salmon and they went to the kitchen and brought back 1 egg & 1 smoked salmon. I couldn’t be bothered to complain anymore but walked away thinking we’d never visit or recommend Browns again. On a positive note, our waitress was lovely as were the staff we engaged with.

I'd been to Browns in Birmingham before, so expectations were high for the Liverpool restaurant, and wow, did they blow my expectations out of the water! The atmosphere was buzzing, the restaurant was beautiful, the food and drinks were delicious, and the service was honestly the best any of us had ever received. A huge thank you to Emily, who looked after us, we went for Browns' bottomless brunch, out glasses were never empty, we wernt ever rushed Emily was friendlyand knowledgeable, and brought such a brilliant positive vibe to the table, Emily is a prime example of how table service should be done! 10/10.

We love coming to Browns for breakfast every time we visit Liverpool. Service from our waiter Gary was exceptional and the food was delicious as always. We will be back.

We chose here as they can do a GF afternoon tea. The staff were very careful to adhere to dietary requirements, but we felt the food could have been a bit better. One of our group was able to have the usual menu, but wasn't given that for some reason. The sandwiches weren't exactly filled, and the GF bread wasn't nice. The scones and desserts were very nice though, although strawberries and cream is a little uninspiring. However, the price was reasonable enough, and hot drinks were unlimited. A bit of a mixed bag, so I'm not sure we'd go back.

We were served by Lee and he did the best job of looking after me and my mum for my birthday! Nothing was too much fuss and he went above and beyond for us! Even giving us a complimentary birthday dessert! browns you need to either promote Lee or give him a bonus because without him I really don’t think our experience would have been as good as it was! Great Mother’s Day meal, service from greeting to paying was impeccable, our server Luiso was exceptional, very attentive and professional, the beef roast dinner was delicious, the roast potatoes weren’t quite up to the rest of the meal, will be back soon!

It is always a lovely experience at Brown's. The food is excellent, as is the service. This time we were served by Lee, who attended to our every need with a beaming smile and great efficiency. He was excellent.

My family and I came in for my birthday meal. The atmosphere was amazing, and the restaurant was beautiful. The food was lovely and the staff were patient, attentive and lovely to talk to.

Waitresses were great food was disappointing, not cooked to requested standard, and sent back, ruined the occasion as everybody else had finished their meals by the time undercooked meal was represented. ☹

Tried this upmarket restaurant for lunch while on a day trip. It's in a handy central location behind the John Lewis department store. Lots of outside tables. Inside, the decor is elegant and modern. Lovely colour scheme, lots of plants, subdued lighting, and a piano near the bar. There's a variety of seating that includes comfy armchairs and banquettes. The staff were courteous and welcoming, and I was shown to a table straight away. Unfortunately, it was too high for me, but that was no problem as a very nice waitress found me a more suitable table close to the window. I was brought a glass of iced water to drink with my meal. A varied and tempting choice on the lunch menu, including vegetarian and vegan options, and it was useful to see the number of calories shown next to each dish. Opted for the two courses for £17.95. Had smoked haddock fishcakes served with a little pot of lemon hollandaise, crispy kale and yellow heirloom tomatoes. The chunky parmesan and truffle chips cost extra. Well prepared and presented, lovely flavours, ample portions. The only thing I could fault was that the food was more warm than hot. The Bramley apple and blackberry crumble, with stem ginger ice-cream, was deliciously spicy. Good quality wine too, and a hot latte to finish. Friendly and attentive service from Jason throughout my meal. Overall an enjoyable lunch experience.

You cannot improve on perfection my husband and I brought along four friends from wales we all enjoyed a fabulous dinning experience we found your service and attention to detail excellent so much so our friends have asked to go back next time they are here

We ended up here by chance when we were hungry for lunch. We got good service and a nice table a little further into the restaurant. They have a good and varied menu. We tried their chicken pie and fish cake because we wanted to eat something different. The food was good! We also took advantage of their lunch deal with two dishes for 17.95, which we thought was good value. We also had lemon posset and bramley apple & blackberry crumble for dessert. Both were very good and large! We are happy with our visit and hope we get the chance to come back sometime when we come to Liverpool!

Great food, fab drinks, beautiful decor. The menu is extensive and there is a set menu that is good value. There is also a childrens menu available. The staff are very welcoming, but during a busy service, they are run off their feet and we had to wait quite a while for someone to come and take our order. On the plus side, we were not rushed to give up the table the way you are in many restaurants. Also, we told them we will be bringing a baby with us, and so they gave us a table in a corner with plenty of space for a pram.

Having allergies, the allergy menu and care were amazing. Good range of food for all allergies. Lots of gluten free options. The staff and service were friendly and exemplary. Drinks were lovely. Sadly, the food was not great that night. The fish was fresh but the batter not crunchy. Please take the mint out of the mushy peas. A classic doesn't need any fussy treatment. Would go again..

I stop here every time I visit Liverpool and I am never disappointed, great place, great food and amazing service. I would highly recommend anyone to try this at least once. Jason was our server and was professional, courtesy and a pleasure to be around!

The service was poor, staff member showed us to our table asked if we would like water didnt appear and we had to ask again. We struggled to get staff attention to order a second drink. Nobody checked how food was. I could continue but I'm sure you are getting the gist of the experience. It was a treat for my friend who lost her husband 9weeks ago and was so very disappointing. We definitely didn't feel our custom was valued .

After a day of shopping in Liverpool  we popped into Browns hoping to get a table. The Manager was really helpful and somehow managed to fit us in even though it seemed busy. I was so happy to see the Sea bass and chorizo risotto was on the menu again as its my favourite dish. (love seafood and love risotto). Hubby had a steak and he said this was perfect too. We finished with a delicious crumble which we shared as we were so full. As always  - a brilliant experience.

Nice restaurant with great food and brilliant service. Nice quiet atmosphere too.

Food was exceptional. Staff was friendly but our server could have been a little more attentive. We tried to get more drinks and he was no where to be found for quite some time. We had to get another server to get him. Other than that everything was lovely.

Regrettably, the limited menu due to delivery constraints dampened the dining experience. While the Calamari starter shone with its delightful taste, the main course, a burger, fell short. The plate arrived disheveled, void of any salad or coleslaw, leaving the meal feeling incomplete. The bun tasted stale, detracting from the burger's potential. As a designated driver, the exorbitant £5.50 price for non-alcoholic beer added to the disappointment.

Lovely Christmas dinner although sprouts and red cabbage were missing, also no shrimps with starter, staff where fantastic though great customer service, gorgeous food.

Ate here on Jan 02 2024 after traveling from Ireland for a 3 day break. Very welcoming and helpful staff. On top of that great food.

Food was excellent. However seated at the table by bottom of stairs upon which staff seem to gather and chat so we had lovely views of legs mostly. Asked to be moved to a table/s that were free but told no. Those table remained free till we left. Plus putting us in what was basically a crèche surrounded by children was not exactly our perfect New Year’s Eve setting for me and my husband. I did book too so wasn’t a walk in.!

New Year’s Eve booking, first time at Liverpool venue but previous NYE experience of Browns in Bath & Bristol. Good food choice, all 4 of us really enjoyed our food & the atmosphere. Excellent staff and service.

Very disappointed with Browns of Liverpool on New Year’s Eve. It was very cold because the front door came off during the storm. Not their fault. But they failed to move us to a warmer table even though there appeared to be empty ones available. The food was sparse at best. We were looking forward to lobster and/or steak but was informed they’d run out of both. How can you run out of your main menu items early evening ??? Will not be going again.

Waited 45 mins for a seat, got our meal but without specifications noted on set menu, not happy for £65 per head.

Wasn't up to the usual standard burger a bit dry and roast potato's a bit like warm up ones. Always been excellent in the past so hopefully just a one off.

We went in Christmas day - Beef Wellington was well done even though we asked for rare the potatoes where reheated (not a problem for me but my friend she won't eat reheated so she never ate the potatoes) we had to ask for steak knifes to cut the beef wellington I had scallops for my starter which where not cooked enough I never ate any of them my friend had The duck starter was awful with cold croquettes. For desert I had lemon trio which was lovely best part of the three course my friend had apple snd blackberry crumble she also enjoyed This was our 1st time at browns and Pretty awful experience but the girl serving was very friendly and helpful I understand Christmas Day is a very busy stressful day for staff but for £92 each the food served to us did not warrant this price

Had both my Christmas and boxing day meals there. The staff were excellent as every.

Venue is ok I suppose for a drinks meet up in town but the food ain't so great and it can be a bit pricey.

We went in Christmas day - Beef Wellington was well done even though I asked for rare and then sent it back and was told, in the middle it will be as you asked and it was black. At that point everyone had already nearly finished theres and couldn't be bothered saying it again and eating alone. The duck starter was awful with cold croquettes. And the deserts we didn't get given any cutlery. Pretty awful experience but the girl serving was very friendly. Also... our other party members didn't like there food either.

Just had Christmas Dinner with my daughter in browns and bar for Lee who served us and was so lovely I can honestly say we have never had such unedible food from the starter's to the mains can't believe it was so bad and for £95 per person they should be ashamed. We actually came home hungry. Happy Christmas

Terrible meal. Waited almost an hour for 1st course and over 20min for a drink, apart from water. Food was ok but not worth the price. Restaurant had run out of cheese by 8pm?! And no when complained told it would be fed back to the chef. Had to order bread due to the wait and charged for it, but taken off bill at the end after discussion. No recognition that the whole experience was below an expected standard and very difficult to deal with the manager who lacked any empathy. Overall much better places to enjoy a meal out and when spending nearly £250 for 4 people you would expect more in this day and age. Avoid and go to a competitor.

We did have a bit of a wait between courses, however, we hadn't booked the Festive Menu but the Chef was so gracious in allowing us to have it, hence the waiting. Food was delicious though and worth it!!

Absolutely beautiful, we hadn't booked but were offered a table later on so did abit of shopping before returning! The food didnt disappoint and was beautifully fresh. Browns.... give Gary a promotion and a pay rise!! His service was impeccable, he was lovely, always smiling and clearly such a hard worker. Staff like that need to be recognised especially on a busy Sunday morning!

Nice restaurant and really friendly service but food left something to be desired. We were a group with some of us opting for the Christmas option. Sadly in my case the prawn cocktail was very bland, turkey for main course so overdone I couldn't cut it and pigs in blankets also overdone. 3 of us had Christmas pudding which arrived cold and had the texture of Christmas cake, the brandy sauce was also cold and randomly a nob of actual butter also on the plate. Others who didn't have the Christmas menu fared much better from the a la carte.

Brown’s in Liverpool has a lovely atmosphere and is a very pleasant building. The food is really good and the service is always wonderful. Jason is an excellent waiter and a real asset to the restaurant with his very charming and professional manner. Thank you, Brown’s!

Great food and great service. We requested a child seat and it was set up for our arrival. We were served by Gary at the Liverpool Browns and he was so friendly and helpful. The decor is beautiful and the menu choices are endless. We will certainly be back!

Went there for afternoon tea. The service and food was excellent. The staff were attentive without it feeling intrusive. The food was served beautifully and the fact there were vegetarian and gluten intolerances to be catered for was no problem to them. Can highly recommend.
