I have to say it was the best Pie & Mash I’ve ever eaten ❤️ Generous helping Great value with £5.50 special. Pie , mash , liquor & tea. Plus a pot of either jellied ells or stewed Fantastic

Started off with the mash and liquor which was decent. Took 2 bits out of the pie and instantly felt sick, luckily I had a Coke on had to help with the sickly taste in my mouth. Poor quality pastry, cheap and flavourless meat. DO NOT GO

Used a few times now for largish order for our elderly residents in retirement living . Always get it right, always hot, helpful staff and delicious food. Everyone happy and good compliments.

Nice and handy near the supermarket. The staff was friendly, and didn't keep you waiting. the food was hot and tasty.

Visited here one day last week the food was lovely.only down fall was a member of staff she was an older lady out the two of them and was quite rude and just seemed to not want to be their! Apart from that everything was great and will be coming again for a takeaway

First time having proper authentic East London Pie and Mash. I’m told there are not many of these around any more. This is a local cafe quick eatery kind of place - Dont expect fancy dining, its all about the food here! The staff are nice and the pie and mash is spot on. The ratio between pie, mash and liquor is perfect. Pies taste fresh and mash is smooth and lumpy free. What you see is what you get and the busy shop speaks for itself! They can’t get a fresh batch of pies out quick enough.

The best pie and mash around. Always very tasty, the pies are amazing. Really really clean cutlery and tables. Nice size portions. So nice we even took some home for the evening.

On this visit I managed to have my son join me due to him not being on shift where he works at the Olympic Pool in London. He had never been before to this particular establishment and after managing to clear his plate of double Pie, Mash, and this places Pea and Mint Liquor, along with his beaker of coffee, he agreed that I was right to have taken him out to it for Lunch. On getting back to his house we found that the evening meal we planned wasn't needed as we were both full up and only liquid refreshments were needed to see us both through to the following morning.

I have used this shop many times and always found the food very tasty,hot and value for money, the pies are the nicest i have ever tried, the liquor is tasty n thick and the mash is slightly lumpy just how it should be.All this and the staff are very helpful and friendly.

As always not disappointed. Pie and mash with mates is difficult to beat. This place is great but the seating is a bit cramped. Jellied eels also sold, Asian guy loved them as he had three bowls.

Yes the lumpy mash and green liquor was as we remembered from our childhood days albeit in Peckham. The pie just was not right though. Baked well with fine mince inside but not the lovely thick gravy from memory - there was little flavour in mine. However, Pie n mash and stewed or jellied eels complete with a hot cuppa = £5 !!! A real tasty bargain for all. The small restaurant was clean and bright and the staff cheerful and friendly. Busy and popular so perhaps it was just me and my fond memory!

Really simple review, this is throwback to the 1970's Pie and Mash shops, it simply excels with lively chatty atmosphere, friendly staff, great food and value for Money. The pies are waxy base and flaky crust, brilliantly mixed filling.....nice raw mash and brilliantly traditional green...

I'm an old Cockney fella and I was pretty much raised on pie & mash savaloys,pease pudding, jellied eels winkles, whelks,cockles In my era there were no chicken shops, no Curry houses,no Pizza shops no super markets in fact it was pretty terrible but I loved the pie and mash and still do and if you are like me or if you just want to try pie and mash then Brook it's a great shop

Powered potatoes mash, pies horrible and liquor tasteless.Would never eat here again, how people can say the foods nice here is beyond me.Tried this place twice hoping my first disappointment was a one off, but it just a poor attempt to replicate a simple classic london meal.

I am an EastEnder and a can tell you this is the best around. My daughter is 24 and I have been taking her here all here life and she was weaned on this. She still loves it too this day. The now owner that has taken over uses the same technics as the lady before.. It has not changed a bit.

I really didn't like the food here I found the pies tasteless and the liquor far too bright a colour and quiet thick. Will not be going back

This place is a one-off (at least, I hope it is). It is a must visit if you happen to be stranded in Dagenham with a craving for comfort food. We went on a Saturday lunchtime prior to footie at nearby DRFC. It was packed - steamed up windows, the lot. Choices are limited: pie and mash; 2 pies and mash; 2 pies and 2 mash; 2 pies, 2 mash and liquor; and so on. The pies were pretty good - beef mince and no gristle. The concept of "liquor" needs to be explained: it is a kind of runny parsley sauce that is ladled generously over the plate. There is no formality about seating arrangements - grab a seat (they are fixed to the floor) and sit where you can.The whole experience is something you've got to try. 5 stars for the experience, 3 stars for the food.

This established pie shop is my local. the shop is very clean, warm and welcoming. The staff are helpful and friendly and the food is excellent. Great!!

Ate here on 24th September 2016, with my wife and four year old daughter. Easily the best pie and mash around for miles and quite possibly the best in east London. Great value at £5.10 for double pie with single mash. The pies are extremely tasty and made with Scotch beef. The mash is lovely too and the liquor is to die for. They also serve a kids portion too of one pie and one mash with a very tasty gravy too.The staff are all extremely polite too and the place is always packed with regulars. If I lived in/around Dagenham/Romford I would certainly be a regular here.

Never having been to a pie and mash shop before, I didn't know what to expect. The food was great and the service was fast. I would definetly go again.

This was my first time trying Pie and Mash, my other half coming from round the corner from here, I'd listened to her saying how great it was. Gave it a try, it was nice, I was slightly lost on the people drowning it in vinegar but that's the tradition I'm told! The staff there were fantastic though, never before have I been made to feel more welcome somewhere before than I was here.

After returning from our holiday to Bulgaria's Sunny Beach, and on getting our car delivered to Luton Airport to meet us, my partner and I then drove to London to see my son and his family for a few days before travelling back up to Inverness. Whilst we were down at my son's we decided that we had to go and have another of the great pies that we enjoyed so much last year, though sometimes some places don't seem to keep the high standard sampled on an earlier visit up.Reaching the Pie and Mash café we were greeted quite warmly by the owner and his staff, as they recognised us straight away on entering their small café, and thanked us for our last visit and it's review. Putting in our order, and then having placed before us the meal that we had looked forward to, was to see us both tucking in to a plateful of simple but well cooked and delicious food, none of the more modern day rubbish where the food looks as if it is a work of art but often tastes nothing like what you ordered, as instead we found that somehow this establishment had managed to keep up the very high standard of what is a basic meal.It was a pity that we had to return to Scotland when we did, as I know that we would have made at least another couple of visits to this small café that provides a very well made and cooked meal that Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsay would possibly ruin by adding something to it that wasn't needed, and charge far more than was also needed for such a meal.Well done to the owner and his staff for making our visit another that entices us to visit it again whenever we are down that way, that is unless they start a branch up here in the Highland's of Scotland.

To me Brooke's pie n mash is the best on Dagenham never ever had a bad meal from there, I've used lot of pie shops is this is def one of the best

I can't fault this pie and mash shop at all. Absolutely the best pie and mash I've had from a restaurant. I'm Spanish, so I'd like to think if I think it's awesome it's pretty much as much of an unbiased recommendation as anyone will ever get. Staff are lovely. Portion sizes are very generous. I highly recommend the milkshakes too.

My second visit and as mouth watering as ever, its so tasty it doesn't touch the sides. Try what may I can't make it last very long and the whole gourmet experience is over in a flash. Really tasty pies full to the brink and lovely smooth mash covered in liquor. The only negative is the price, although I guess I'm just stuck in the past. Pie&Mash is no longer cheap which is a shame. Great staff, great food, highly recommended.

Whilst staying with my son and family in London my partner and I went out to do some shopping, and whilst doing so we went past the above establishment a couple of times and saw there were a number of people inside having their lunch.It was decided that we would go and have a meal there as there are no such places where we live in the far north of Scotland, and we were delighted at making the decision, because what we were served was not only very tasty but also the portions were considered excellent value for money. In fact we were so pleased to eat in this establishment that we went again a few days later, and on going in we were immediately recognised and welcomed by the owner and his staff, who remembered as to what we had previously ordered and also the types of drink we both had.After another filling and cheap meal we regretted that there wasn't such a place anywhere near where we live, and so we will look forward to going there again when we next go to London to visit my son and family.

Called in for ther first time in March 15. Enjoyed it so much we now drive for 30 minutes every week for our 'weekly fix' of great pie and mash.Great food, great staff - always welcoming. Excellent value. We are moving shortly and will be 70 miles away. My wife wants to have days out to this pie and mash shop - shows you how good it is!!Recommended.

Double pie and double mash with tasty liquor is a hearty meal for cold days served up by lovely staff.I try to pop in for a tasty meal after drinking in the pub next door with Brett Simpson and his gang.We simply love it here.

Having been told this Pie and Mash shop was outstanding, I couldnt wait to go and eat there, so my family and I was very disappointed after travelling there to find the pies not authentic at all!! The mince was nothing how it should be and had a funny taste (more like a steak and kidney pie taste) The pastry was hard and in general not nice at all.........Arments in London is truely the tops when it comes to Pie and Mash!

We visit this place regular the meat in the pies is Aberdeen Angus beef and is never greasy or fatty or has any gristle, the mash is creamy and you can have either liquor or Gravy with it, it's the best and cheapest for miles, plus the family who run it are friendly and welcoming. I would recommend them 100%

Called in with my wife today, who is a Geordie by the way, and had pie and mash. It was bliss! Best pies I have ever tasted. It was very clean, very busy.Pie and mash was £3 - that is great value.I have lived away from the south for many years - this was a great reminder of what I have been missing.Recommended.

this pie & mash shop is the best around, well worth a visit, even if you don't like pie & mash you can shepherds pie as an alternative, and Tuesdays there is a reduced price for OAPs they also do deserts. It is not an expensive meal and I try and go once a week, and bring some home for a member of the family who is housebound. Staff are friendly & helpful and its spotlessly clean.

Pie & Mash sounds a bit lame does it? Brilliant simple fare cooked with love & served with a liquor to make your taste buds jump for joy. Lashings of "Non Brewed Condiment" (not vinegar) & sprinkle a bit of black pepper on top. Get it down you once & you will come back, again & again. Nice people who care equally about the customers as they do the food.

Arrived early and could smell the pies baking, the owner saw us standing and opened the shop, i have had pie and mash but not with Liquor (Parsley sauce), we had jellied eels on the side, it was a bit early for the eels, i was greedy and opted for 2 pies, put the vinegar salt and pepper all over , it was delicious, great meal but should have benches to sleep it off.Look forward to doing again.

3rd time visiting this restaurant and again not disappointed. Ate in then purchased food to go. The pies are excellent as is the mash (traditional lumps and all0 the liquor is also very good, staff are friendly and patient. Will definitely be back.
