This place has a great chilled out vibe. Food is usually great but I chose fish and chips which proved to be a bad choice, very little fish in the batter, that said my husband had a burger which he said was delicious. We were also told when ordering a desert that a 10% service charge is added to all food, we werent told this when ordering mains and couldnt find anything about it on the menu. Would go back but choose one of the dishes they are known for.

Great atmosphere too, very friendly. We came back on new year's Day for breakfast and had the biggest and yummiest breakfasts. It's up to you. Do you want a big open airy space to soak in the vibrant yet not noisy atmosphere of a warehouse sized pub, or do you lean toward a more snug cocoon of a place that seats around 30 people? Couple that with a great range of Ales and all the usual other keg and spirit options, and this is what I would call a well-rounded pub

The Brinkburn is always a joy to visit, and it's absolutely one of my favourite pubs in Newcastle. The food menu seems too large to be good, but everything I've had from it so far has been great - nothing comes out too slowly or overcooked. I'd particularly recommend the sliders - a great way to sample the burger menu. The beer is great, the atmosphere is cosy and welcoming and the staff have always been lovely.

The owner of this place should be enough to stop anyone going back. Tried to politely complain after waiting over an hour for pre-ordered food that then came with a hair in it. Owner came over and instead of trying to resolve the issue like you’d expect, he started shouting at our table and was highly intimidating. Would never go back for this reason alone. Disgusting person.

Great food, menu, and excellent choice of drinks. Could only fault the food for serving boiled potatoes rather than crispy roast potatoes with our Sunday Lunch. Table service could be better. We were expecting to be asked if we wanted desert but no one came. By the time we managed to order some we were close to the end of our booking slot and were shooed off the table just as we finished the last bite! Perhaps more service staff needed or more effective management to make a slot-based booking system work effectively for customers.

This is a lovely, hidden gem just off Byker bank. The food we had was excellent (although the photos don't really do it justice) and the beer choice was off the scale with samples available on request. Atmosphere was amazing, noisy but not so loud you couldn't talk. Tables and chairs were 'rustic' but comfortable and the artwork was 'local' and available to purchase. Staff were friendly and very personable, nothing was a chore for them, dispute how busy the place was. Overall, a very nice place for a meal with friends at reasonably affordable prices. Highly recommended!

Sunday lunch at this establishment offered a pleasant setting, although there were some service issues that need attention. While the host was welcoming, they simply pointed to our table (Table 15) in the corner, and two other couples were served before us, even though we had arrived earlier. It almost felt like we had an invisible bubble around us. After waiting for about 10 minutes, I had to go to the bar and enquire about how to order food since we were not given any guidance. The beef dish we ordered was indeed delicious, but unfortunately, the cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots were undercooked, as evidenced by the sound of other customers struggling to cut through them with their knives. To their credit, when I provided feedback about the vegetables, a staff member courteously apologised. We are willing to give this place another chance in the hope that these issues will be addressed. Parking is difficult when busy as most of the streets around are permit holders only. We had to park two streets away and walk which wasn't much of an inconvenience.

Stumbled upon this by chance and how fortunate. It has an industrial feel and maybe a bit studenty but there was a real mix of people sat eating and drinking. Many of the inside tables were reserved so it's clearly popular. Great range of beers and all our food was delicious too. Inside there's a large seating area with some smaller little rooms off the sides the of the main area. Outside is on a few levels and opens out to the quiet street. The rustic furniture is a little shaky but it's a great sunny spot. Hope we can visit again sometime.

We arrived for the slow cooked Sunday roast and ordered two beef and one lamb. Time ticked on and we asked a dark haired waitress after nearly 40mins had she forgotten our order as people who arrived after us were now eating, she didn’t seem too bothered and said no it’s on its way. Another 20 mins passed and we asked another fair haired waitress who was lovely and said she would check with the kitchen. Food finally arrived and one beef was warm, mine was cold and my partners lamb was literally frozen in the middle! Waiting an hour for frozen food costing £13.50 a pop that could have made my partner ill! What stung even more was the staff, we told the dark haired waitress and she actually gave us attitude as she took it back to the kitchen, then we told what looked like a manager to cancel our order we were leaving, he also didn’t seem bothered and said ok fair enough! As we were leaving the waitress came back and apologised saying it wasn’t good enough, I can only assume she or the chef checked the middle of the lamb and discovered the ice cube, realising we weren’t just complaining for the sake of it! Absolutely shocking, I could have dealt with the hour wait, even mine being cold as I was so hungry, but frozen meat and rude staff was too much, I’ve never left a restaurant like that and never review places but this was just such an awful experience. Advertising fresh slow cooked roasts that are obviously just then frozen and microwaved. We headed for the ship who have good food and lovely staff. Save your money and go there.

Came here last night & in comparison to the other times we’ve been, very disappointed. £62 on food. The portion of fish was ridiculously small, £10 on 3 tacos with no sides? Quality of the food nowhere near as good either. Choice of drinks, great as always. What got us most was how rude and arrogant the staff were. We took our child, my partner went to ask the staff where we could find the key for the baby changing room. All she got as a response, “at the bar, I’m too busy to get it for you.” Even the guy at the bar when I was asking if I could get a dash of lemonade in a beer, his answer, “I suppose so” with a shrug of the shoulders. No need to be rude to paying customers. In comparison to the service level of its neighbours like Kiln, they’re way behind. Brinkburn has lost its spark slightly. Wouldn’t recommend.

I got to the bar and was informed they did not have any chicken burgers so then I changed my order and we ordered 3 burgers. We were sat waiting for these and then the kitchen started to close, we asked a member of staff and they informed us they were finishing up the burgers. Next thing we know they tell us the burgers aren't being made and we have to deal with no food at all. Very disappointed in the service here, how can one have a mix up in orders and accept money for food yet not actually make the food. Would not recommend any time soon. Starving we are.

Compared to the last visit, it seemed to have changed slightly, it was prior covid, but this time it felt more like a posh school dinner on a plate rather than a Sunday Lunch. Don't get me wrong it was still nice, but to elevate it slightly, seperate gravy and veg in dishes would make a huge difference, than just everything whacked on a plate. Totally get that it's a brewery with food on the side, but the price for lunch doesn't reflect in the product.. Great tasting veg would be nice hotter, spot on Yorkshires.. Thanks.

We were on Cluny 2 - nowhere near as good as Cluny I, eg the selection of beers was poor. However, the gig that we went to see, Buffalo Nichols, supported by a Sunderland blueser was very good Great atmosphere from the audience and the Milwaukee guitarist had great rapport with his audience

Sadly since the expansion it’s just not it anymore. Went there for the last time on a Sunday for a drink and brunch. Very busy place, which has been the case in the past but the waiting staff seemed simply stressed and overwhelmed. I’m sure it was like 3 of them compared to a very large space and a seemingly overstaffed kitchen. Took ages for someone to take our order, I had to catch one of the staff as she was running past our table back and forth and ask to have our order taken. Which she did, but after waiting endlessly we found out she hadn’t even passed it on to the kitchen. We stood up and left shortly after that. As for the coffee, no offence to anyone, but it isn’t what it used to be. The prices are quite high for what you get as I think the place is understaffed and I’d be very curious to know what the employees think about this….

I’m 15 and went here first when I was about 11. Don’t live in Newcastle but I can confirm it’s the best pub in the toon. Class music and overall atmosphere. Staff are cool and friendly.
