Brilliant Fish and Chips in Great Yarmouth

The staff or owners are nice. Unfortunately the fish and chips was not. Probably the worst fish and chips I have had in the UK. The smell from the oil was not okay, don't know why. Kids portions was good, but adult not so much. I did regret buying from here.

The best fish and chips I've had in a very long while, there is a wait due to the high demand, the wait is well worth it. If you ever in the Caister area give them a try you won't be disappointed.

Four of us had large cod and chips on Friday 6th Oct '23. Service was great. The fish was cooked to order so was fresh and tasty and not greasy. Portions were on the large side and they threw in some fish scraps. Really enjoyed it! The staff was decent, think the guy there was called Wahin or Wayne. Would definately go back when I'm next in Great Yarmouth. Thanks.

Popped in about 8-8'30 as it on the main drag it seemed busy, as it's a small shop so, I ordered and it took a fair time to be cooked, I paid as it was wrapped getting to our work rental, we were disappointed with the small rations fish just cooked as the not fully dried batter slid off, & the chips semi soggy, it may have been rushed? (we are staying just around the corner) portion size left us a bit hungry! So not so brilliant for me! Our time in the area has been extended, so a good chip shop is always welcomed but not here!

Unfortunately we couldn't eat any of the fish. The fish was bland and greasy and had a funny taste. The workers were blunt and rude when we was asking questions. Wouldn't go again. I personally think they should state if they are going to leave the skin on the fish too. Chips were also cold, and we were only round the corner. Mushy peas was nice though and so was the chicken nuggets. This might of been a off day for them but unfortunately it wasn't a good first experience for us.

I have been reading some of the reviews and I'm disappointed to read what some people have put. Yes sometimes things go wrong but not very often especially how busy they are. As I live in Caister I can say its the best one around. Its BRILLIANT. Give it a go you will not be disappointed. Keep up the good work guys.

Been to this chip shop over the years. Different people now running the business. Order some chips that took nearly 15 minutes, even though there were chips ready to be served. Extremely slow service and not for the first time. Staff don't appear to be able to coordinate and work as a team. But can not fault the food.

Cod was nice , but medium chips was very small could of been bigger, very disappointed so won't be going back

This chippy was recommended to us by the driver of the land train. We were staying at Seashore so was only a short drive to collect lunch. Parking outside shop. Lunch for 4 adults and 2 kids freshly cooked and large portions. Great value for money, will return.

My Mum and myself travel an hour and 40 mins for these fish and chips and they are so worth it. The fish is thick and juicy, the batter is crisp and so tasty and the chips are chunky and not greasy. They do take time to prepare but that is only because they are made to order. Perfection!

I ordered a large Fish and Chips over the phone and went to collect. Fish was lovely although when I went to open the wrapped food, I was appalled at the amount of chips for £15!!. When I called I apparently ordered a medium, but £15 for the amount of chips was disgraceful.

Recommended by a friend who lives locally and now I use every year when I return, as my 10yr old says - the best fish and chips he has ever had.

Had a really nice large haddock , chips and mushy peas. The chips was so tasty , im sure they were cooked in beef fat 😋. As for the haddock, yummy is all I can .

We collected these fish and chips whilst staying in Caister and they were lovely. The portions are huge, we ordered two haddock and a large chips and there was plenty. The fish is fresh and the chips cooked to perfection. We will definitely return when staying in Caister as the location is also brilliant.

Wife went in 3 large portions of chips 45 minutes later and going and asking twice people after her had gone asked for money back oh we are doing yours now. Yet again a few other locals in the queue said as you are holiday makers and not local. We are not holiday makers we own on haven Caister , if it not for holiday makers would you have such big profits. At the end of each year but you treat us so unfairly I wish now we could get every holiday maker to avoid you then see where you are next year

Brilliant Fish and Chip Shop really are BRILLIANT! We ate from there 3 times during our weeks holiday with something different each night. My sister cannot eat fish with any skin on so they did it for her especially, no problem! All of the food was lovely and hot and freshly cooked for each customer. The fish was cooked to absolute perfection and the burgers were gourmet quality! The salad was beautifully fresh and colourful and everything on the menu had generous portions. Brilliant Fish and Chips were the only take away in Caister to have a queue of people happily waiting for their meals which were served very efficiently. The best we've had for years! Unfortunately they cook in animal fat, so no good for Vegetarians. They should really put it on display what oil they cook in, because for some people that has health issues are asked not to eat animal fat when you have a gall bladder issues.

Excellent quality chips in dripping (no good for vegetarians) with, if you want them, added 'crispy bits', which are crispy, crunchy bits of leftover batter sprinkled on top. Good prices. Well cooked. Delicious.

After reading the reviews of this place we decided to try for ourselves whilst on holiday. Did not disappoint. Lovely with good portion sizes at a very reasonable price. Would definitely visit again. Highly recommended.
