Bridgend Balti House in Bridgend

Great food, let down by service. Ordered at 6.20pm & delivered at 9.33pm. Initially estimated at 70mins, after 120mins I called and was told a maximum of 25mins more, then nothing until a call at 9.19pm saying they had run out of one of the items so had to substitute but somehow did not know the order was made 3hrs before! I know places get busy,.especially on certain nights but why give a 70min estimate if there was zero chance to make it? Why not simply inform the customer of a delay? They had both mobile & email and could easily have changed on their order service - bookyup - but that I suppose would have taken someone a few seconds on each customer...

The first order was lovely very warm and delivery was not too long to wait. But the next time I ordered I waited just under 2 hours and I phoned them up to ask where my order was too be told that they were waiting for a driver totally unacceptable and unforgivable.

First time to use Bridgend Balti for Indian takeaway and definitely not the last, the staff were very polite and well mannered and the food itself was probably the nicest Indian I’ve ever had and they didn’t skimp on portions like a lot of places nowadays. Will be back for more soon thank you

Ordered a collection, Chicken tikka starter, Chicken samosas, Mixed Bhajis (thinking this would be onion, cauliflower etc) and Chicken madras which was ready on time, got home to find the tiny Mixed Bhajis were on some sort of nan bread covered in a red sauce, so could not eat these as my partner has dietary needs, Sadly there was no description under the heading Mixed Bhajis so assumed it would be the above, so my partner rang and explained and was met with the answer "It is up to you to ask" with raised voice, so after some back and forth chat it was agreed that I bring the Bhajis back for a full refund and onion bhajis would be made and ready to collect on the house, so travelled back to the shop and explained and was handed three onion bhajis when I asked about the refund was told that it was an exchange so when I queried the 80p price difference I was given £1, Not until I got home did we realise that there was no salad or dressing with the onion bhajis which is included with all starters, when my partner rang as to why there was not a full refund she was met with raised voice, talking over her and back tracking on what had been agreed, So that's what you get as a customer with friends & family of over 20 years. NOT ANY MORE.

Food was disgusting, chips were rock hard and cold AND the rice was full of lumps and cold curry was cold full of grease.. onion bajia were overcooked and rock hard pashwri burnt and like leather. Phoned bridgend balti and the woman had a bad attitude called me and my neighbour liers. WILL NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN AND I'D ADVISE YOU ALL TO NOT TO IF YOU DON'T WANT TO WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

Too much mess outside. Smelly inside didn't wait for anyone to serve .

4 1/2 hours after ordered, food arrived!!! Found food elsewhere at 11pm - couldn’t get hold of restaurant neither, not answering phone, to confirm if it would be delivered after the 3 hours wait!! Can’t believe that you think this exceptable 😳😳

Order regularly from here, food is ok but never order on new years eve.ordered at 6pm for delivery at 8pm.still waiting at 10.15pm.never again

Ordered our food at 6.01pm was informed that they were busy and it would take 2 hours for delivery. At 8.15pm we contacted them once more only to be told sorry it will be another hour. At 9.31 after repeated unanswered calls we have given up on receiving our food. Not communication and hopefully we will get a refund but not holding out Absolutely appalling service. Please do not waste your money

Great value for cracking food. Been going for years after trying other more expensive places but not as tasty. If I do collect on way home from work the staff are always pleasant.

Ordered a takeaway using Just Eat at 6.30pm with delivery "as soon as possible". Estimated delivery 7.50 to 8.10pm. A longer delivery time than expected, but it was a Saturday evening. No delivery by 8.20pm so used text facility on Just Eat to request an update on delivery time from Bridgend Balti House. No reply received. Tried telephoning but line continually engaged. Eventually got through at 8.45 to be told "we have your meal here it will be 10 to 15 minutes". Eventually arrived at 9.20, too late for us to eat. The food is excellent but let down by such poor service. This is the second time we have ordered with Bridgend Balti House through Just Eat. It will be the last time.

Couldn't stick to a preordered time, sent me raw chips, chicken was dry hardly any sauce in the curry dishes. Don't know whether this is the sort of treatment you get when ordering on food hub app but it was appalling. Delivery driver stated becauseof the distance it was late I preordered 2 hours prior and my address is in the Bridgend area. Customer service was non existant.

My favourite Indian in Bridgend by far! sometimes the wait can be a bit long but its always well worth the wait :)

Never got my food or my refund. Been waiting almost a month for my refund, constantly been lied to whenever I call up. They just brush me off and have taken no responsibility for their actions. Will never order food or recommend this place to anyone

Good, tasty food, had to wait a while due to driver issues and missing a rice, did replace the rice with next order without any issue. Will use again

Awful. After being delivered over an hour late and with an extremely rude delivery driver. The food was not even edible. The chips looked like they had been kept warm for hours, freezing cold and dry. The chicken was so dry and very chewy. The nan breads were also freezing cold and all soggey. Put in a complaint and was promised a replacement meal. Just gone to take them up on their offer and give them another chance but was told that they couldn't do it and the best they could do was 50% off. Disgusting customer service and food. Don't waste your money!

2 hrs 30 mins for food to be delivered, absolute joke! Ordered at 5:30 and finally arrived at 8pm. Food looked good, but far too late for me to eat, which is why we ordered at 5:30, to get food by 6:30. Had to contact food hub directly in the end and was told 15 min at 7:30, food eventually arrived 30 minutes later. Won't be ordering again from here and certainly won't be recommending to anyone looking for Indian delivered. Very Very poor service.

nice Indian food from limited kitchen space

I'm afraid to temp fate by saying this but the food has always been good and never yet had a bad one. I've stuck with BBH for this reason with most other takeaways in Bridgend failing any consistency. Going on my most recent meal from them, they seem to have gone up to a new level and I hope it wasn't just a one off as it was simply stunning. Would recommend the House Thali, excellent value. If the curries that come with thali are not to your preference they are prepared to change it.

A good solid Indian takeaway.. great helpful staff to start . A good menu and and we have had a few meals over lockdown with them and they have been fab and I highly highly recommend... why only 4 out of 5 ??? When I try a new Indian I will always go for a vindaloo as the main and base a score from there.... this is a good 8.5 out of 10 and I’m a harsh critic... if I could nice then 4.5 on trip advisor I honestly would 👍👍😜

Good for value for money but the wait time is horrendous. We have given it the benefit of the doubt ordering a few times from here but the service is shocking. We have waited 2-3 hours on the last 4 times we have ordered here and when you call to chase it up, you are told it’s on its way though that could still mean another hour!!!!!! The food arrives luke warm and don’t bother ordering when you’re hungry as you’ll have a long wait before you actually eat! Disappointing and would never recommend to anyone!!!!

We had a nice takeaway from Bridgend Balti last weekend. They have a good online service where you can order and pay by card online. Delivery was prompt and friendly keeping safe distancing. All the dishes we ordered were tasty, correctly spiced, heated and of good portions, all in all very good value for money. We will be ordering again, would highly recommend.

By far and away the best Indian Takeaway in Bridgend. Just my opinion obviously but I've tried them all and this is the only one that's consistently brilliant!! I've been using them for around 10 years. Awesome.... 😁😋

Lovely freshly made food and their vegetarian dishes are full of lots of different vegetables. We've had takeaways and sit down meals in lots of restaurants in and around Bridgend, however Bridgend Balti is always good value for money and delicious. Would definitely recommend.

We ordered our takeaway meal over the telephone we were advised it would be over an hour ( understandable) as we phoned late evening on a rugby six nations weekend. The food was absolutely delicious and generous portions. We would highly recommend.

Only gave it 1star because I couldn’t give it minus 5 stars. After using their website to place an order, we received confirmation and noted a 75 minute wait for delivery. Over 2 hours later, still no food...after trying to call them over 40 times, finally got through and was told they hadn’t even received the order. Absolutely pathetic service for absolutely average food. Will never use them again

Ordered set meal for 2 people. Phoned to collect. Twenty minutes until pick up and it was ready when we arrived. The food was lovely. Great value. We would order from here again.

Three hours later and food still hasn’t arrived. Have tried phoning half a dozen times but no answer. Appalling.

Called ahead for collection Sat 05/10/2019 & advised twenty minutes , rocked up after twenty minutes , waited a good further twenty minutes , during which I witnessed every customer placing a telephone order being told " twenty minutes " . I wasn't overly personally bothered with the wait thinking I hope the food quality is as good as the surrounding aromas , well wasn't I wrong , the Chicken Tikka had been cooked to Jaipur and back , so overcooked and dry i even tried livening it up with the yoghurt sauce , but no ! And I don't know why they had chucked in so much random roughly chopped raw onion , i love onion but cooked onion in a hot dish please . The Tandoori King Prawns were ... OK , just OK , I have experienced worse in the past elswhere , and yes they too , yes , you got it , MORE raw onions , why oh why ??? The staff were pleasant and polite enough , however , receiving sub standard food eradicated this fact . The outlet looks like it lacks a good weekly deep clean and as the kitchen is semi open plan , you would think the kitchen staff would wear clean smocks during service , can be off putting for some people ...

2 hour wait for our order. Normally we have a great meal from here but unfortunately this time was poor. The chips were cold and rock solid. The Currys had all separated they were that cold, the rice was cold and hard. Aug a shame as it's normally our go to takeaway. Best to find a new one i think.

Shocking service - ordered a takeaway direct on website that even gives you estimated time of arrival.20 mins after it should have been delivered I called to check where it was and was told ' on way' then phone hung up. 15 mins later called again and still 15 mins away. No apologies....nothing. I offered to pay £10 for food due to delays and fact it would be cold - was told that chicken could be reused for other orders so no. EHO nightmare - don't order from here.

Had take away from here nearly every week since it opened many many years ago. Tried few others around & outside the area but keep coming back. Family run business Food is outstanding and if there is a problem it is always solved without question. They even stay open to wait for me to pick up my meal on way home late from work. Fabulous. Chicken dhansak the BEST.

Just collect the worst briyani I have every had. It is just rice coated in a small amount of sauce with chicken. Too spicy for a briyani as well. Recommended by someone will never use again

had a takeaway Saturday evening, ordered tandoori chicken which was so over cooked and dry it was inedible, the garlic rice had so many very large pieces or raw garlic it was awful and there were about 15 pieces of raw onions on top of the chicken , it was not very nice at all. I have in the past had a few very good takeaways from there but not on Saturday , and it has put me off ordering from there again

Have used these for quite some time... Food from this takeaway is generally very nice (when they get your order correct)... Attitude very poor though... On 4 occasions now they've left out the Naan bread and salad, no real apologies or offer of refund next time... Definitely time to look elsewhere. ..

First time diners and got to say it was very tasty. Delivery on time, plentiful and the onion bhajis were to die for. Only one snag we didn't know who's was who's as cartons not labelled so we all had to try each others to see what they were and this was a bonus as we all had a taste of each other's. 10/10.

Have had many take aways delivered.The food is excellent and good portions.Delivery times are good.On Bank Holidays or match days,order early as after games have finished can take a little longer to deliver.But well worth the wait.

This is my go to curry shop in Bridgend food was tasty and plenty of it. And the vindaloo sauce was the best yet, usually you get it and it’s heavy and dark but this was a lighter colour and light texture but really good flavour. Will go back again.

We've tried them all. We keep returning to Bridgend Balti House as the food is by far better than any other takeaway. We've tried restaurants where the food is double the price and no where near as delicious as Bridgend Balti House! The prawn puree and chicken tikka starter is to die for. Excellent choice of meat and vegatarian dishes. The staff are friendly and home delivery is quick. We highly recommend!

Asked for a medium curry given something akin to a poor korma, called to complain and told I wrote down mild..... Appalling... Very dissatisfied

We've struggled to find a curry house in Bridgend that delivers. The Bridgend Balti house is great and the food is always of an excellent standard. Would recommend it to anyone.

the food was cooked to perfection

Food was ok but the service was diabolical, the girl taking the order didn't have a clue what was what. Some food missing and I had to drive back into town to pick it up. Not sure what's happened to the place but it's gone to the dog's.

Ordered prawn korma - sauce was grainy & tasteless - will not be ordering again

Korma sauce was tasty, but chicken was dry and chips I ordered had clearly been reheated from the day before. Also ordered a tub of raita and it had curdled. Not the standard I would expect from Balti house.

The food was very nice but my curry was spilled all inside the bag so it was very messy had to clean all of the container first and was no curry left to eat

The Nan bread and rice was very nice, however the Balti/star of the show was drowned in garlic and oil. The flavour was bland so I wasn't too happy. Have had nice enough meals from here in the past, but on this occasion I wasn't too pleased. Still it did the job and I ate it all.

I have had a few take away from here in the last year, about 2 a month. This is by far the best Indian food in Bridgend by quite some way. Family run and friendly.

Fab house tali again. It did say in email they added 25 mins to just eat delivery time but it actually came on time on the original time.

Great food but they often cancel your order for no apparent reason. Especially annoying when you've ordered for 5 people and they've all paid you!

Excellent food and service. But could have done with having the names on the containers.

Food was hot, onion bhajis were lovely but poppadoms tasted like they'd been stored in plastic containers and biryani sauce had no vegetables in.

Delivery was on time, hot and well packed , however the popadoms were broken into tiny pieces when they arrived, couldn't be dipped or used with chutney.

Very poor, we have been ordering from here for a long time and large orders as we are a big company, I requested a smaller delivery this evening waited an hour then got an e-mail to say they were too busy to deliver and to try another take-away!! What a joke! They have lost a big customer with us, I shall not be ordering from them again, pleanty of other places in bridgend

From a very young age I've always enjoyed Indian food. Bridgend Balti for me and my family has always been our first choice. I've eaten in a lot of Indian restaurants/takeaways and all I can say is Bridgend Balti beats them all. The only negative is it's not a sit down restaurant.

Food was 20 mins late but not really an issue it is Sat. night after all. Food was delivered hot and the order was correct. The food quality was brilliant could not fault it at all. Onion bhajee, mixed kebab started all perfect. Mains of lamb dhansak and chicken balti were delicious. Well done and thank you for a lovely meal.

Very good food but delivery was 30 mins late.

Food was good as usual. Paid for my meal online but left a message to say can I change the chicken curry to butter chicken on the meal deal . Thought they may change it as they put up there price on the deal but they didn't which was disappointing and the chicken curry wasn't even nice.
