Where we live there a few pubs in Bracknell that are nice but don’t have any entertainment factor and some have an entertainment factor but are not very nice in terms of atmosohere. The Bridge has both a laid back feeling for a nice chilled out drink if that’s what your after and on the flip side has a lovely party atmosphere at weekends with a pair of pool tables and dart boards. We had a gathering with a lot of our friends as we recently got engaged and the staff were very warm and friendly, not to mention we got a bunch of shots on the house for everyone as our engagement present which isn’t bad going. All in all the bridge is what a pub should be, somewhere for people to go and have a drink and have some fun.

Slowest food service I have ever experienced, the first of 5 meals took 45 minutes to arrive and the last one took another 15 minutes - despite being the same dish as the first one! No warning of a delay when ordering and no apology for the appalling service. The food was somewhat under par too. The boss was not happy about us being late back from lunch.

Wednesday 21st August 1 pm. Absolutely diabolical service the worst I have ever encountered. The one barman did not know how to operate the till properly and could not produce a receipt and I might add that he had a couldn't give a ???? attitude. Once ordered the food took at least 45 minutes to come and that was only 3 meals out of 5 ordered and these came one at time. The remanding 2 meals eventually came some 15+ minutes later and the first meal to arrive had been eaten before they arrived. We were not told at the outset that there would be a delay with the meals being served and there was no reason to think that as there not that many people in. There were no apologies for anything in fact really no communication other than to ask whose is the 'egg and chips' with a do you want it or not face. The meals appeared to have been left standing for some time and were deficient on some of the content against the menu. To anybody who reads this I strongly advise that you do not go to the The Bridge to eat as you will be severely underwhelmed and thoroughly disappointed at the total lack of service encountered. There is nothing the management could say to compensate for this abysmal visit to The Bridge.

Three visits over a period of time, each visit has been a Friday Lunch time and I have ordered the same £5 lunch menu each time, Fish finger on organic wholemeal side of fries.1st visit: Early December 2014, it was excellent. It came on a nice large bowl plate, two decent sized sandwiches with good amount of Fish, decent amount of fries on the side, and slaw salad as well, and quick service they were ready for the Friday lunch rush. I was full I was happy. 5 Star.2nd Visit: Early January 2015: Was OK but not the same as the first time, food came on a smaller standard flat plate, two sandwich pieces but this time smaller with less fish, and 20 fries on the side (yes I could count them individually) and No Slaw Salad, the plate looked half empty and the whole thing looked a bit cheap and amateur. I was 75% full, if this had been my first visit maybe I would have been satisfied but having been before and expecting the same, I was disappointed and felt a bit ripped off. Also my vegy friend was at a stump as they seemed to be out of stock of almost everything vegy including Salad!....Salad for peats sake!3rd Visit: Mid-January 2015: Terrible disaster. This time the choice of bread has gone from 6 to two (white or brown). Just after we ordered the rush came in, the place went from the 5 of us to almost full in about 15 mins. The staff level was way under par, freaking ‘chef’ buzzer going off every two seconds for the bar man to come to back and take food out to tables. This time I got a single side of sandwich it was very small with just two fish fingers in there (yes I said two) and 18 fries on the side, again no slaw salad. When it was served I took one look and knew it was not going to fill me, at all! It looked like what a 6 year old would get served at a cheap kid’s birthday party. After I finished my ‘lumch’ in 5 mins, I went and ordered a side of fries (thinking that it would come very quick since every plate coming has fries on it, they are obviously frying up a lot) 20 mins later still no fries, I ask the bar man, he said ‘we are very backed up it will come when it comes’ it’s a single side of fries, just stick my order to the front you idiot!?!?!. I had a meeting so just left the place having not been served. Felt very ripped off and had to buy a second lunch from canteen at work.Certainly won’t be coming with colleagues again and definitely won’t be bringing clients or customers here.

My wife and I ate here recently - decent food and the chef, bless her, came out to enquire whether my steak was cooked to my liking, which it was.So we did not hesitate to visit again yesterday evening after reading in their review "It gives a warm welcome to dogs and their owners". We walked our little cockapoo to The Bridge, went in and had to wait a couple of minutes while the bar lady finished her social chat with a couple of ladies our side of the bar. Not good, but worse was to come when I asked if dogs were limited to any specific area (as many pubs do). The response was "outside". I asked her to check, quoting the dog-friendly write up, whereupon she went back of house and came back with the confirmation "outside". So we had to leave, walk home and drive to the very dog-friendly Plough and Harrow at Warfield for our supper.

Waited 40 mins before going up to enquirer at the bar for the delay in our simple lunch order, to be told that there was a half hour wait for food orders. The pub wasn't even busy! We were not told when we ordered that that was the case and plus had gone past the half hour time anyway. Waited another 5 mins before going up to ask of we could have it as a take out as we had to get back to work.Food then turned up plated, with the barman having attitude when asked again to have it as a take out as it took too long.We won't be going there again for lunch and to be honest wouldn't recommend it. I passed this pub and thought it looked OK so I had a quick look at their website. It looks good and there is also a voucher offer, £5 off subject to minimum spend, just fill in a form, easy.I went in and ordered a drink for me and the missus, I wanted to pay for the whole bill together but that's not possible due to no tab facility. We then sat down, browsed the ample menu and upon making our choices I went to the bar and ordered.Prior to ordering I said I have the voucher code on my email (phone) but the barmaid said it had to be printed for the till to consolidate. I asked if it was possible to email the establishment with the voucher for them to simply print at a convenient time therefore allowing consolidation of their till and my £5 discount. The barmaid said thats down to manager to approve but unfortunately she was busy cooking some 30 odd meals so it wouldn't be for 30 to 45 minutes. I said that's absolutely fine, I will order anyway and discuss afterwards with the manager. Could she ask her to come to my table as soon as she was free. With our meals my partner wanted a large wine which I ordered only to be told there was no wine glasses available so it would have to be a straight glass. I was surprised at this but the barmaid said it often happens when they're busy!! So that was just shy of a £5 drink in an unsuitable glass. We had the food which was very good, high standard and plentiful. We stayed for a further 90 minutes and did honestly enjoy the evening albeit expecting a visit from the manager. She didnt arrive.Easy fixes are as follows: Buy some more wine glasses. Have a facility for tabs even if you scan the cards in advance. Finally if a customer feels the need to speak to the manager (no matter how trivial the subject), then the manager should make it their business to attend. Plus points the food and atmosphere. Negative has to be the service. It's a shame but I will not be returning.

The staff are simply not interested in making this pub a pleasant experience for customers. Expect long waits when no-one is in the pub and when you do get the food if you order separately at the same table it can be 5 minutes in between each meal is brought out. It's only saving grace is that it is dirt cheap, but that's probably because the food is terrible.I would avoid this pub like the plague if you want your food quickly, to eat together and half decent food. This pub used to be grim and horrible for years so I almost turned down an invite to have lunch there but I was surprised. It's had a major refurbishment and now looks very airy and pleasant as you go in. On one side of a large open-plan bar is a sports area with fruit machines and games, then tables on the other side. My visit was a weekday lunch and it's a typical "chain" food menu with a decent choice of dishes. The food is reasonable quality, I wouldn't say outstanding, but then again the prices are quite cheap (I had jacket potato with salad, coleslaw and cheese for a fiver) so on balance I was happy with the food. The service is hopeless though. When we ordered they were upfront about telling us there would be a 25 minute wait. Seemed a bit strange as we were early and not many people in yet but we thought well OK at least they told us. The food was a while but actually took less time than 25 mins to arrive. One of the dishes was soup and came with only a tiny bit of butter for the bread; when we asked for some more we were told "no" they didn't allow it! How tight can you get. Luckily my potato also came with butter which I didn't need so donated to the soup person.Drinks that we had ordered at the same time as the food did not arrive until we went and chased them up. Whilst we were eating the harassed serving guy swept past us with "how's your meal guys everything alright" and kept right on walking without waiting for reply.I visited the gents toilets and found them nice and clean. My friends work in the office across the road however and go to this pub frequently - they recommend not sitting anywhere near the door to the gents as toilet is often very smelly and the waft as the door opens puts you off your food. This place was passably OK but I can't help feeling it will not be long before it slips back down onto the "omg not going there" list.

We saw that there was entertainment on later in the evening so decided to stay and have something to eat. The food was delivered quickly and looked fresh and appealing and great value for money. The best thing for me was the great quality of Ales available. Once the Dj started it became a party pub filling up with a good age range with no feeling of trouble we felt safe and stayed the whole night. Its great to finally find a pub with great traditional ales that I would feel happy to take my parent to. The team at The Bridge keel it up we will be back soon.

I've just been on a works team lunch to this place, it's literally just been refurbished and looked vfery nice from both the outside and the inside. We ordered drinks and then ordered food a little later which was taken, 15 minutes or so later we were told that there was only 1 steak for the 3 that had ordered it and no scampi. Orders where changed, mainly for cheaper options in a totally disorganised manner and we were only offered partial recompense for the lower prices of the new choices. Anyway, the meals started arriving, 1 at a time in 10 minutes or so intervals, everybody else receive there's apart from me, after a further 20 mins or so I had to go up and cancel my order as it had not been forthcoming and it was getting too late as we had to get back to work. Whilst I was cancelling the food order, 2 guys watining at the bar finally gave up and left without being served. Now I can believe that maybe this is teething problems after having reopened post refurb but they've clearly got a lot to sort out to be considered worth trying again

We have eaten at The Bridge quite regularly recently. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The menu is typical of most chain pubs and is very reasonably priced and served in generous portions. (puts Wetherspoons to shame!).On our most recent visit I had the 8oz steak, served with chips, peas, onion rings and grilled tomato - for a very reasonable £6.99. The food was bought to our table promptly and was well presented. The steak was ordered as "medium" and was cooked perfectly. The member of staff returned a few minutes later to ask if everything was OK with the meal and asked if we needed anything else or more drinks.All-in-all The Bridge is now a friendly pub restaurant offering good food at great prices. My partner and I live just up the road from the Bridge and decided to try it a few month back - sine then we have been going very couple of weeks and have never been disappointed. The pub is set up mainly for watching sports or planning pool but to the right hand side of the bar it is far more quite and set up more for people to eat. The menu is fairly typical of any chain pubs - steaks, fish and chips, curry nights. We mostly tend to have the rump steak, which is always cooked correctly (M/R - never once has it been overcokked!) and its very tasty. The staff at the pub are always very friendly and attentive, checking back on us and bring drinks to the table when they can. For what you are paying we think this pub is fantastic and the service far better than what you get in many of the surrounding much more expensive establishments. If you just looking for somewhere to pop out to for a quite bite - we couldn't recommend it enough.
