Good food and good service, Never had any complaints

This is my local greasy soon cafe. A traditional local cafe to satisfy all of your Sunday morning fry up needs. This is my local walk-to go-to and I recommend it.

Came to my local cafe with my boyfriend for a nice brunch, however turned out to be the worst threatening experience. We came in at about 3:35-45 sat down and we’re looking at the menu. 2 minutes in of us being sat we were asked if we were ready to order which we said not yet. Another lady comes to let us know they will be closing in 15 minutes. We rushed ourselves and ordered our food which is always up to standards. 5 minutes after closing time a man that works there started shouting at us saying can you hurry up we are closed you need to finish your food. He didn’t even try to say it nicely. My boyfriend was also on his last bite we was ready to go. Due to his aggressive behaviour we spoke back and told him we are on our last bite. He said he doesn’t care and we can eat our food outside because he wants to get home. Then he started saying he will lock us inside which is crazy. He kept coming close to our table as if he was going to take the food off our table. Not acceptable I have never in my life experienced such customer service and someone shouting at me in such manner. I work myself and I can appreciate wanting to go home on time. However shouting at customers and telling them to get out only 5 minutes after the closing time its shocking. We was already done! Please be aware when coming to this cafe!

Love this place. Great food, plentiful and cooked well - delicious! Coffee good and service impeccable. Let us linger for ages today, which is always nice.

Burgers tasted very cheap no onions for the price they ask could of at least had some fried onions. The chips tasted like the oil was old and the service is nothing what I'm used too

Food was a little underwhelming for the price, and the coffee was very bitter (not so much you couldn't drink it, but needed a lot more sugar than I usually take). Staff were lovely and just that right balance between quick and relaxed.

Delicious, fresh food at reasonable prices

Visited this morning, went in staff said hello. Then that was it. Nothing, no staff came over to take our order, we sat there, weird. We walked out went to cafe in Beckenham, must better service from the start.

Used to live in shortlands and moved to Newcastle upon tyne 2 years ago, used to always eat here. Was in area and stopped for the poached eggs. I should have left a review years ago. Great place

Great place for breakfast and coffee! I got the Mediterranean breakfast - smoked salmon, half avocado, two poached eggs, halloumi, tomato, olives, jam and toast. Eggs and halloumi are cooked to perfection. Healthy and super tasty! Very good service.

Food was good - Place nice & clean - Staff friendly - Prices reasonable. ...But if I had to look for something to approve upon - How about offering freshly squeezed juices, instead of the bottled variety.

Breakfast set meals include a cup of tea or choice of soft drink from the fridge. Been here a number of times and food is always served hot. At the pricing for set breakfasts, including a drink, the options are very reasonable. My set breakfast was the most expensive and at just £8 was great value.

This cafe does amazing breakfasts!!! And such good choices! I always get the Mediterranean breakfast (smoked salmon avocado olives poached eggs tomato halloumi and toast) and it's absolutely delicious and such a nice change to just full English options. Although, my boyfriend always goes for the full English and he says they are outstanding aswell. Fresh ingredients, great presentation. Amazingly cooked eggs and high quality bread for toast. Staff are friendly and cafe is clean and good atmosphere. My favourite cafe in Beckenham! Had to leave a review because I am always so impressed. Keep it up guys!

Good quality ingredients instead of what alot of greasy Spoons use. However the prices have gone up drastically. Sausage, bacon and egg sandwich and a bottle of Oasis cost me £6.60. Won't be rushing back regardless of the quality. Bog standard breakfast £7.50.

Stopped in here for breakfast on a Friday morning, so it was a bit quiet. The inside is spacious and well decorated. The menu is fairly standard for a cafe, but they do have pancakes. I had the pancake breakfast and it was spot on. Everything was tasty and well cooked. The waitress that served us was attentive and courteous.

One of the best breakfasts I've had. American style pancakes with syrup and bacon,sausage,hash browns and scrambled eggs. Beautiful. The staff are very friendly and pleasant too and the cafe is clean and comfortable.

We live in shortlands and love this cafe. Always lovely food, always great service too. Our little boy loves the kids menu!

Rude owner who was aggressive and refused to serve my boyfriend as he said that he was moaning when in actual fact he was just asking whether something was ok for him to eat as he is gluten intolerant. Any decent cafeteria knows all about food allergies. Disgraceful way to behave.

Very bad quality breakfast smells bad very poor quality all so expensive I try speak to the guy who is on charge name is Durush but he doesn’t understand speak very poor English 👎

Food was lovely! I had the Mediterranean breakfast that was perfectly cooked. The coffee was great and the staff were super. Will definitely return.

Since the lack of competition in Shortlands I go here occasionally for one of their set breakfasts. They are average at best but more expensive than most cafes in Bromley borough. When I say below average I mean that the sausages and bacon are not great and the portion size is on the small side. Mushrooms are just deep fried which I think is lazy. I will only go again if I can’t be bothered to walk or drive further. On the plus side it is nice inside with a good atmosphere.

Having visited here many times now and sitting at home in lockdown, thought I’d give another mention to the lovely food and service that I always receive when eating at this establishment. My final visit pre Covid-19 saw me enjoy a halloumi and egg baguette with a nice cup of strong English Breakfast tea. Needless to say I thoroughly enjoyed this and found it to be very tasty! I have always found staff and Management to be attentive, accommodating, polite and prompt. Looking forward to returning again when able to and would recommend you do the same.

Still regularly visiting here with group of local running club friends on a Saturday morning after parkrun and find the food and service to be very good, both prompt and attentive. Food and drink always arrives quickly, hot and tasty. Menu 8s extremely varied and well priced. It can get busy on weekend morning but the service and Kitchen staff seem to cope pretty well all things considered.

Sorry to say this place has gone downhill. We went Saturday lunch time and hardly anyone there. More staff than customers. I really wanted a cheese and ham roll but the lady didn't seem to understand what a bread roll was. Finally ordered a tuna sandwich instead although she thought I wanted a panini. My partner ordered shepherds pie which looked like the meat had been cooked seperately; not like a shepherds pie at all. The meat looked like kit e Kat cat food. No I won't be back.

Spacious and bright. Clean and an open kitchen. Good quality food for a good price. Great varied menu and staff accommodate requests. Sometimes it gets busy all at the same time, and in which case service is of course slower but that’s to be expected as they only have so much they can cook at one time and they do it properly. It’s clear when you read the reviews that this place is good, as people are always going back. Friendly staff including kitchen staff, they’re always kind to my little beast.

I have eaten here a few times with my family and have enjoyed the food I’ve tried each time. Visiting most recently for lunch on a Saturday the service was disappointing for various reasons. For one thing my husbands toast never arrived for his all day breakfast even though he reminded the waiting staff twice. When he mentioned this when paying he was told he would get double next time. Not ideal. The other thing I was disappointed with was the use of single use plastics. Straws in every cold drink and single use plastic cups for milkshakes even though we were eating in. In 2019 this really should be a thing of the past. It is no longer an issue in a lot of places which is why we hadn’t thought to specifically ask for no straws. At least don’t assume everyone wants a straw and let them ask for one (ideally a paper one), at best scrap them altogether. The cups could easily be reusable plastic beakers if the concern is that kids may break glass. Again I have to say that the food is very good here and the portion sizes are generous. I’m sure the issues with plastic and service can easily be resolved if the management is interested in doing so.

Ordered food today for my dads 80th and they kindly gave dad a treat for his birthday ... a yummy spotted dick and custard. Thank you all. he loved it.

I needed a very quick lunch when I got off the train. I ordered one of a number of breakfast menu options. These include a hot drink. The drink was brought quickly followed soon after by the cooked to order meal. I have had a lot of English breakfasts in a lot of hotels and B&Bs but this was one of the best I’ve ever had. Hot and quickly served.

I have regularly been visiting with friends here on a Saturday morning for around 2 years now and never found the food, drink, service and atmosphere to be lacking - always a great place to visit and is popular with both locals and passing trade. I would always recommend this great cafe for value and a place to meet up. Opening hours are very preferable too!

I met my son at the Bridge Café for breakfast on Saturday morning. The set breakfasts offer ample choice, but it easy to vary these by ordering an extra egg, a slice of fried bread or whatever. The food is very tasty, though I would have preferred grilled fresh tomatoes to tinned. The ambience of this former radio/TV shop is most pleasant, and the service is highly efficient and very friendly. I enjoyed my breakfast and the Americano I had with it. The café was quiet when we arrived at 0930, but it was virtually full when we left about 45 minutes later. It is clearly popular and deservedly so.

Now don’t get put off by the word ‘builder’!This friendly and what seems a family run cafe just seems to know how to deliver a consistent, fresh, hot and speedy breakfast at a competitive price. The bacon is superb, the toast chunky and the sausages are full of meat and nut bulked out with bread. Tea and other beverages are available but my weekend Mocha beats anything that Starbucks attempts

We often visit the Bridge Cafe and I have been with other people several times throughout the year and I can say this place never lets us down. The set breakfast options are good as well as the lighter options too (eggs Benedict is a go to option!) the owners and staff are friendly and professional, delivering service with a smile! Their range of smoothies are fantastic, my partner and I love option 11 (wild berries smoothie) whilst their coffee is at a good level too! I’d recommend anyone who’s looking for a decent cafe to stop and have a breakfast to visit this establishment, I will say their prices are a tad overpriced for what you’re paying for however the food quality and service make up for it - just!

A relatively new addition to Shortlands Village this modern cafe satisfies a need for the provision of quality breakfasts, lunches.coffee etc. Nicely laid out, comfortable and conveniently located near Shortlands station. Friendly service, good food. Recoomended. No cards accepted.

A welcome addition to Shortlands. Now been here many times for breakfast. Food is good and the staff are nice too. Occasionally delays with service on busy Saturday mornings (popular with Park Runners) but on the whole a good experience.

Nice cafe. Great food, prepared very quickly. I had no.3 breakfast. No fat or grease on the plate and it tasted delicious. Bit of a mix up with the bill, hence 4 scoobies and not 5, but we got it sorted without any fuss. Would definitely recommend an revisit.

Popped in after an appointment at the nearby Sloane hospital and both of us really hungry. Lots to choose from on the menu including halloumi, toasties, baguettes, sandwiches, main meals and all sorts of breakfasts. A nice welcome smile from the lady who took our drinks order and then we ordered a set 4 breakfast (Huge!), egg, bacon, bubble, fried bread, a heap of mushrooms and toast. Great value at £7.50p. I had scrambled egg, bacon, grilled tomato and fried bread; lovely scramble. Friendly staff, good food and value for money so will visit again. Its cash only though and its just on the other side of the bridge from Shortlands railway station.

The chips were a bit old , they didn't look or taste fresh! Ordered a clarks pie and it def wasn't a clarks pie (cheap version) the meal was cheap enough but decent chips are not hard to do

Absolutely terrible, was told on arrival to shop food would be 1hour despite the confirmation email stating ready in 20 minutes. Food then was delivered 1hr after, food was Luke warm and order also wrong. Terrible would never order from here again.

Mouldy, yes you heard right, MOULDY peas. Burnt oil used for chips making them taste inedible, dry rubbery sausage, enough oil floating around on the fish and pineapple rings for me to set up my own fish and chip shop and do better by myself. Really want to vomit right now.

The food that we received smelt very off and this was proved in the taste as well, the order was wrong and the food that we received was stone cold! Not happy with this place at all will not be ordering from here again and we are hoping for a refund as the food was inedible.

First time ordering from here. Pizzas were fantastic and great value. Will order again in the future.

Left a note of no tomatos due to allergies and lo and behold there are tomatos in the food. Also i ordered chicken but got fish. Clearly states on the site that if you order over £20 you get a free bottle. Obviously this wasnt the case. Wont be ordering again especially if someone cannot tell the difference between a fish and a chicken.
