A Monday night darts match, and the staff were brilliant. Service excellent. A great venue. I'm sure the pub will do well and I'd highly recommend it

Popped in for a quick drink Sunday lunchtime. Lovely warm welcome and lots of choice. We often find that on Sundays some pubs are less than welcoming as they are only interested in people dining in so it was nice to be able to relax and have a drink without feeling we were being rushed.

First time there, recently opened, dropped in for coffee, warm and clean, nice staff, will be back!!

Lovely food at the brewery bar, tacos were really filling! Good service and definitely coming back again!

The Brewery bar has had a face lift and it looks good. When we visited there was live music which we enjoyed. I enjoyed my gin but my husband was a little bit disappointed with the real ale, he said that he has tasted better which is a shame.

Nicely set out, a few odd looks from obvious locals, but well presented, value for money & well presented Update. Been through a few owners by the look of it, no atmosphere, very few people and the back area was barren. Used to have lovely decor and seating, having to listen to 4 so-called men using the 'f' word constantly was the real highlight 🙄 such a shame. Won't be going back UPDATE After finding nowhere open ( weekend of the travvellers fair) on a Sunday evening bar the "Brew" was the only place to go. The young lady behind the bar was lovely and friendly, a very happy atmosphere and fair prices too... Happy igave ut another go

Decent selection of beers, an excellent food truck with a really tasty range of burgers and chips. It's also the best beer garden in Botley! What's not to like!

I was only there for a U3A event during a very quiet afternoon so cannot comment on food or evenings. The young lady behind the bar was friendly and pleasant. There was a range of beers on offer.

What a dive!! This place a couple of years ago used to be the place to go. We went to watch d.j.l band was amazing like always. The people running this place have no idea what they are doing. It’s clear to say that the place is full of people doing drugs. My husband went into the men’s and drugs where being used in the toilet. I won’t be returning and something must be done. How can this pub stay open when it’s clear to see everyone in the pub is off there heads on drugs

Had a lovely evening, great selection of wines and beers and the food was nice. Starters to share , recommend the chilli garlic bread, had the cannelloni, very filling, but very tasty, cooked to order, not warmed up in a microwave. Friendly, helpful staff.

Called in Saturday lunch time while out walking the dogs. Warm and friendly team on site and the dogs were very welcome. We all had pizza and the food was excellent, really tasty and very well priced. We will definitely be back here again!

The local people that use the pub are a entertainment in there own right. Food was amazing. But they run out of roasts by 2.30. so I missed out on one but I'll come back a bit earlier next time. I don't think that the chief expected to be that popular.

Georgie was working behind the bar and offered exceptional service and friendly chat to make our afternoon the best we've had for a while . And now there is delicious Italian food to be eaten I recommend the cheese unbelievable. The pizza comes a close second all the best Ritchie

A really laid back and welcoming pub with a delicious Italian restaurant within it. The staff have the right attitude to see this business flourish. Clean refreshed decor, well kept beers and freshly prepared foods. Loved our time there.

Absolutely terrible place is not run properly everyone doing drugs all the time sell drugs in there all the time the staff know about it and don’t care aloud to vape inside the pub witch I didn’t think was professional. Prices are abit to expensive just a proper crap pub wouldn’t recommend at all.

I love this place, it was good before the refit now it's the dog's Doo dahs! The food is pretty good, nice selection of beers and live bands what more could you want?

Dropped in with a few friends and there was a live band in the evening, so we were looking forward to staying for a few and enjoying the night. The bar is very nice, clean, and staff seemed friendly. Unfortunately, for a venue named brewery bar, the beer choice was pretty terrible… just lots of generic, mass produced lager and dated cask, no local breweries, no modern beer styles, no quality in the line up - nothing you would expect from a venue named such. Would visit again but I hope they revisit their beer list, as it felt a bit like stepping back 10-15 years.

We went as part of a trawl round Botley to see what it had to offer! The person behind the bar was very friendly and the atmosphere was really good.

Very loud hideous dance music. Barman gave me a pint instead of a half and then proceeded to massively short change me. Won't be returning.

Was a little bit disappointed as it had good reviews but the food took ages to come out and a lot of it was burnt, the beer was good thou.

We came with family for a Sunday roast. We opted for 3 roast beef and 1 roast pork. All were absolutely delicious and no one could fault it. Most definitely the best Sunday roast we’ve had outside of home. Will be back and will recommend to anyone. Staff were nice and friendly too.

Nice old pub, very popular, live music, The Jay's, on Saturday was great...had a boogie.

Visited this bar with the intention of 1 drink and then go to another..... we stayed all day😃. Staff were fab & friendly, drinks were great and great music. We only had a light bite but it was delicious, if you are near this place i highly recommend a visit, they have 100% got the right criteria for a fun time had by all. Well done ladies, fab job!👌

Good lively atmosphere and responsible staff

Just had a miserable experience here. The lady that served us clearly didn’t want to be there. Zero customer service, utterly miserable person. Have left and gone elsewhere after one drink. We could have spent quite a bit here, but not today or the future.

It’s a nice pub normally, but not today. The mobile kitchen has gone and the in-house kitchen still hasn’t reopened - so no food. But worse, worse by far was the appalling bar service - I’ve never met anyone more unsuitable to face the public. Miserable, abrupt, unpleasant. We had one and drink and left and probably won’t go back.

Very good food and a fairly decent price. Atmosphere felt a little bit weird in the bar though, and staff basically threw the food at you and then wandered off and didn't bother with cutlery or condiments. Menu for a Sunday lunchtime was VERY limited with just burgers and sides on offer.

Place was lovely and clean and the bar staff were extremely friendly and helpful. There has been a renovation since I last visited and it looks great. Lots of drink choices too.

Booked online, no response!@ Turned up, pub empty, unfriendly chap behind bar. Asked for high chair and he pointed to where it was to go get ourselves. We sat down, to get ready for lunch, as it was 12.30....i.e. lunchtime! Another small group came in and he said you can sit anywhere you want. They asked for menus and we overheard him saying 'oh sorry we have no chef at present, he won't be in until 2, so you can wait!' I then tackled him and asked we hands told us as it was obvious we were in for lunch! He just shrugged his shoulders. Turns out they don't even do food and they have a burger van in the car park! We saw the menu prior too, so a place I will NEVER revisit. Went to the Dolphin around the corner instead and was EXCELLENT there.

Very disappointed with the place. We went with our 1yo baby after reading all the fantastic reviews and seeing the latest very menu on their website. We tried to book on the phone but no answer, sent an email with no answer, but it still...

Good comfortable pub. May well be 5 stars if it weren't for current Covid restrictions.

Staff were very helpful. We had not booked but it had been raining. But plenty of undercover seating. Only shame is the smell of smoke, but you are outside so it's expected.

Offer a Veg Soup during Tier 2 restrictions which was homemade and profits to charity. Don't have Sky Sports but still offer BT. Really decent place with good staff and food.

Dropped in for a quick drink on Saturday night ...and ended up staying all evening. The Brewery Bar in Botley is such a vibrant place! It was buzzing with a bunch of jolly people having a good time. My dog came and he loved it too! The Landladies are so friendly and even though they were clearly very busy with guests they even popped over now and again to make sure our party were alright (and thoughtfully brought my dog some water). I haven’t lived in the village for many years, but it’s obvious that under the current owners this quirky pub is now the beating heart of Botley! There was a good selection of spirits at the bar. The ladies loos were also well stocked and clean. I was anxious about going out due the the whole Covid situation but there is a massive outside area both to the side and rear of the pub which has both a large semi closed gazebo and a well lit pub garden with plenty of seating areas and space to stand. We’re looking forward to returning soon to try their food menu (I hear the dirty fries are a must!) Thanks to Tash and Harry for an unexpectedly great evening!

The sign in the pub said Sunday roast was served from 12, and we arrived at 12, so we were looking forward to a nice lunch. The member of staff said he would go and check when the food would be ready. When we left half an hour later he hadn't come back to us, and he wasn't anywhere in sight so we couldn't even say thanks, bye. There were only about 2 other customers so it wasn't as if he was run off his feet. I honestly don't think there even was any food available, there were no cooking smells or cutlery or menus. Why not just tell us?

My Wife and I decided to have a mid-week lunch at our local pub, the Brewery Bar. Always a good meal and very friendly staff. We also had a discount - courtesy of the Government's COVID measures.

As I wasn't sure where to go for a meal this old fella with a scruffy dog recommended the brew bar so that's where I ended up. Oooo my lord what a meal best roast for a long time.and the staff so attentive well done...

Saw this pub mentioned elsewhere with a photo of the bar area that looked okayPopped in and was grossly disappointed . Thought it may have been a Free House but no, a Green King one. Had a pint of Speckled Hen- ugh, sour and just awful. Whole pub seemed soulless . One way system that led to the garden. Smokers galore close to the exit with smoke entering the actual pub. Not a particular friendly female member of staff. Food: Only saw a burger delivered to a purchaser. Didn’t look much and the purchaser didn’t look too impressed with it!Looks like a pub for the younger people. Will leave it to them. One redeeming feature - dog friendly.

Very friendly and lunch was delicious

I went there and as usual, the pub is what it is. I love this place and the people are great. I went I on Thursday 16th July for drinks after a terrible time at home, try to go through different things. I sat in an area with a friend that we exchanged drinks and banter, and he eventually left.I was still there drinking when approached by one of the Managers to say I would have to leave shortly as the tables were booked. It has to be said that I was on that table for some considerable amount of time and didn't think I was in the way of anyone else. I was given the order to evacuate my table by a certain time but not given an alternative table or place to go.This offended me very much as love the people and staff that work there and didn't feel that i should have to leave.It was, I believe, very unprofessional of the staff at that time and do not think I can ever return. Very, very sad.Mick Hudson.

My favourite bar as its unique in its stile and keeps the Proper bar image that many working people love. I am one of those working people that love to have a beer after work and enjoy what the Brewery Bar has to offer. A fantastic Pub, terrific staff and locals and visitors that enjoy this atmosphere. Botley is quite spoilt with good local pubs but the Brewery Bar outshines them all! The staff are always welcoming and friendly and the recent refurb makes it cosy and comfy. We visited on a Wednesday when they have a fun pub quiz and we ate there too. The food is nothing but delicious, all home cooked and great portion sizes... you won’t go home hungry! We’ll most definitely go back :-)

Visited on Monday about 1:30pm .Two men and one dog in the bar.Greeted by a nice log fire and welcoming lady behind the bar however no food available on Mondays. New menu on its way but the existing one showed pics of good pub grub with some offers burger and drink £10. Wine was inexpensive and good size car park. Will visit again on day when food available and then give it 4/5 stars I think.

Great pub not the best for live music

Had a roast here a couple of weeks ago which was good . Not sure what has changed but this week was amazing . Would highly recommend it. Such friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere.

Sunday 10th november ..Have been here for roasts a few times and always good BUT today ( don't no if they have a new chef )...it was amazing .. lots of veg and meat big yorkshires and great roast spuds. ...definitely coming back again and again. ..
