Brewers Fayre Haven in North East Lincolnshire

I visit here once a week, sadly like elsewhere the food has seen an increase in price but the quality is always good, Any mistake with the order is immediately rectified with an apology and a smile. Usually I visit with my granddaughter and occasionally with my son also , the latter having a big appetite, but is satisfied always. The staff are on the whole very good, I observed one evening a couple, the lady appeared to have dementia, each time the gentleman left the table, to order or pay whatever a member of staff immediately went to the table and chatted with the lady, I have never seen such care. The Young man, Alan, is so obliging, always cheerful and friendly but I feel he does not get the recognition he deserves.

What a fantastic experience. Sarah behind the bar really went the extra mile to make sure that our evening was the best it could be. Would definitely recommend this location as business stay or even as a one night. Well done everyone

It's okay not great, we had a steak pie and mash, burger and chips, chicken salad, so the pie was average and the mash was okay, more was needed it was a bit on the small side, burger and chips was okay but forgettable, the chicken salad, was as dry as a nuns fanny no dressing was offered and the avocado was soft and tasted rank. when we had finished all our plates were taken away by a member of staff. They didn't ask if everything was okay, nope just scooped away. I think the staff were more interested in setting up for breakfast than concentrating on the actual customers. Sorry average pub with average service and food nothing was expectional.

Karen is always approachable friendly and welcoming. Always happy to have you there, and nothing is to much trouble. An absolute asset to the company. Jamie is polite, friendly and happy to help. We visited on a Sunday for a family meal. Some of us chose the roast of the day from the carvery deck which was all fresh, hot and plenty of variety. Others chose items from the menu which were served quickly, piping hot and looked tasty. Nice that the kids could go and have a play afterwards too and the outdoor play area will be ideal when the weather warms up. Team were all friendly and it was just an all round nice experience! Great food great staff. It was my birthday and Karen and all the breakfast staff made me feel special singing to me and giving me a box of maltesers. We have been many times. Sometimes as a couple and sometimes with grandchildren and friends. We have never had a bad experience and have always had friendly staff who can't do enough to make it a great experience. The price is great too. Can't fault it

We were welcomed in by Karen who was so lovely and chatty to us who showed us the breakfast and explained how it worked. First time trying a brewers fayre pub and the breakfast was such good quality and so much choice. Will definitely be back!

Very good carvery ,always plenty of nice vegetables and the beef is always so tender.The place has had a makeover recently and is nice and fresh ,also like that there is a separate area for children so.one can eat in peace.

Travelled 5hours from Somerset to spend time here with friends from Scunthorpe,2 of whom also booked in at the Premier Inn next door,t he breakfast staff were fantastic, polite ,friendly .explained everything, couldnt be nicer thankyou, you were lovely, breakfast was all you could wish for and more, so much variety, well presented, hot and cooked to perfection! However-the evening was somewhat different! Food was lovely cooked to perfection and tasty-better than our local-then boom the waitress said have you finished your meals then took our plates while we we were still eating,and the dark haired young lady/supervisor said at 2150 im closing at 2200hrs no more drinks allowed! I checked the website which said closing was 2200hrs, she said I can close at 22 the signs says so but couldnt show the signs! Indeed the next morning we looked for these notifications but they were def not displayes! Very arrogantlly she tole us to go to our rooms-we are in our early 60s not bloomin teenagers and 6 adults with no alchol in a hotel room to socialise -really? Clearly she was on a promise of a nightout as she was enjoying piggy backs behind the bar and as we left and she closed the door she actually shut the door on my husbands back and the lights were out before we could light a cigarette!! Certainly put a damper on our weekend never mind too late for us this time however in future we would choose a venue that stays open until 2300hrs as advertised-I also do appreciate that these days with increased electricty prices its wise to close if quiet however this madam couldnt wait to get rid of us-net time we will certainly choose a diferent venue ,thankyou but no thankyou! Arrived home and complained oh what a surprise no response never mind differenet venue next time your loss!!

Excellent value for money & great service from Karen & Janine. Would highly recommend popping in for breakfast. Will be coming back again soon.

Janine was fantastic and a very helpful and attentive staff member. Despite being very busy, she was calm, collected and knowledgable and wonderfully polite and friendly. It makes all the difference when you have kids with you. Well done to management for a good hire. The manageress whose name I didn’t have chance to grab was also excellent. Always so friendly and helpful. Thankyou for a lovely breakfast experience.

Great place to relax at and just chill when life gets the better of you great staff real beer and great meals a gr8 chill night out would recommend if just want pick a pick seat and chill chat with friendly staff and ask for table for food if feeling hungry even better if born in grimsby gtfc ooooo town r weeeee xx

We are regular customers here and never have any complaints. The atmosphere and food are lovely but the staff are amazing. They're friendly, polite and always welcoming. Janine is so good with my kids and even knows how they like their puddings. Wouldn't want to...

We call most Saturdays for breakfast...a little treat after walking the dog and the only place open at 7.oclock.Usually Janine and Jaime are looking after us but occasionally Tomas.We have formed a lovely bond with them and the breakfast is just what we need to set us up for the day.Lovely,mouthwatering continental (as much as you want) and full English to order.Service is outstanding and we couldn't want for more.

The Haven at Grimsby just had a Sunday Carvery the staff are friendly especially Katelyn, Jessica, stacy and Jamie also the management team. We also have a good meal would recommend.

As usual the visit to the Haven was superb. Karen and her team were exceptional, the meal we had absolutely delicious - in fact truly scrumptious!

Went as a family of 12 carvery is absolutely awful. Food is over cooked and so dry why have a carvery and run out of meat but still charge the same? I won't be back

First time visit for breakfast. Fantastic choice, good products at a very reasonable price. Children eat for free. Particular shout out to Janine who's customer service was faultless. Bright and bubbly and extremely helpful.

Visited brewers fayre for my Nana’s 85th birthday meal. The food was very tasty and the service and the staff were FANTASTIC. All the staff were kind and thoughtful, making a fuss of my Nana on her birthday. Especially Alan who was keen to chat...

Another fantastic Christmas dinner. Staff as always extra helpful, accommodated the needs of my autistic teenager without question. Food was lovely. Carvery meat can be less than brilliant, but beef and turkey both lovely. Toasties very crispy. Mashed potato is a favourite of the teenager's....

Went for evening meal on Friday night was given all the details for meal deal. We spoke to manager ref the drinks as was only 2 lager and 1 beer, no ciders she advised there was more lagers and another beer on plus one cider so why not PRINT these on the sheets. Ordered Chicken and Ribs with skin on chips and salad no coleslaw. Just started to try the ribs and got a very Weird taste, could think what it was a just not nice , took the salad of my plate and let husband try the chicken and rib and he said straight away the salad has got French dressing on. So that what the WEIRD taste was. So why is this NOT stated on the menu. No skin on the chips and were cold. So tonight my evening meal what a waste of money as I didn’t eat anything. Spoke to manager when she fetched our desserts and asked her, she confirmed in was on the salad. I asked why it’s not stated on the menu and her reply was don’t know,? If it had been stated on the menu. I would of ordered it with out. Saturday morning breakfast booked in for 9am stood waiting still at 9.15 only one lady on which was taking customers to table, taking money and letting you all know about the breakfast service. Showed us to our table and was put in with families (not been funny come away to be away from children as ours were at home. Before anyone say anything not left alone ) Personally could do with more cleaners or to get your cleaners to do there job correctly as where we was sat could do we a damp good clean, cob webs everything, chairs dirty, plates with food on underneath clean plates, food on floor, hand prints on window glass. We was booked in for Saturday night but after Friday night poor service and let down with food we decide not to go, so went somewhere else. Let’s see what Sunday breakfast is like. Sunday morning breakfast 9am got seated straight away yet again places in family area - asked to be moved. More staff on this morning. Hot plate were extremely hot to touch and the utensils were too. Also need to stop customers smoking bang on outside the main door.

Serves pub food quickly with friendly and helpful staff. The only odd incident was the half a lemon with the Salmon Hollondaise had been in the Microwave. Strange to squeeze a lemon that was scolding hot.

Very good food. Staff lovely 💕. Very good service 👍. I had a chicken tikka curry and it wasn't too spicy but also it wasn't too mild. Kids portions are the perfect size.

Having stayed in numerous Premier Inn's all over the country and also using the breakfast and pub facilities, I have found this to be one of the best, the team are all really friendly and the food is well prepared and presented.Keep up the good work Claire and Shannon and all the rest of your team

Stopped for a breakfast. We could choose what and how many of our liking. We could refill the Costa Coffee as often as we liked, and did. A far better experience than Beechwood Farm.

The all you can eat breakfast is solid. Still no problem during the COVID times. I ate in the restaurant in the evening. The food was pretty decent. The staff were very friendly and helpful, they really make the place

We visited as a family of 6 and had an evening meal. It was terrible at best. Everything was deep fried and over cooked. The only saving grace is that the drink prices are reasonable. We were booked in for breakfast the following morning. Breakfast was worse than dinner! We all left our meal and asked for a refund. As guests at the next door premier inn we felt captive it’s such a shame the food at the Haven let’s the hotel down. Staff run around looking stressed and put the delay down to being really busy. I’m not convinced it was that busy it was just poorly organised. Would definitely not recommend The Haven for food.

We are regulars at The Haven and have been for some time. The reception is always cheerful and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for them and everything is done with a smile and, in the case of Sarah C, a little cheerful banter. Like I said, it's like visiting friends. On top of all this the food is good and the helpings are generous, with excellent service.

The Haven is attached to a Premier Inn and caters for families. We are 2 pensioners so we were glad the restaurant was fairly quiet. The weather was hot (>25°) and there were a few tables outside. The menu was adequate in range (available online) and the quality & price reasonable but not for the gourmet. Wide range of drinks but only one real ale - the dreaded Doom Bar (shades of Watneys Red Barrel!). The food (a couple of sirloin steaks) was a little overcooked and not particularly hot - we think the kitchen could have done better.Outstanding was the staff. Service was prompt but not hurried and they all knew how to smile and chat for a few seconds. .We did enjoy our evening but wouldn't go out of our way to eat here again.

We are a family of 5 and had the best meal since a while, the atmosphere is very clean (no cobwebs, no dust specks) the staff is all nice and friendly, with little ones they really listen and interact with them especially Sarah.

We frequently meet friends here for breakfast. The staff are always informative, helpful and courteous, especially Karen, who goes above and beyond to make sure we are looked after and well fed. Our party chose from the cooked breakfast menu, as with previous visits we were not disappointed, our meals were well presented and hearty. Keep up the good work!!

We dine here regularly and never had a bad experience. The staff are friendly and attentive, the food is consistently good and great value. Plenty of choice in food and drink. Plenty of disabled car parking, and big indoor and outdoor play areas for kids (when not in pandemic!). Would highly recommend

I wanted to write a review mostly regarding the service I received today. One of the worst parts of eating out for me is the awkward and often almost robotic service I often receive; however after eating here I received the exact opposite. The service was probably the best I have ever received. Staff were attentive, warm, and efficient. The service felt warm and natural and not just put on and going through the usual motions. Having worked in hospitality for 16 years I am often overly critical of dining experiences but even I couldn't find any fault in the impeccable service. The food was lovely too and well presented. I look forward to returning.

Me and my partner came on a spur of the moment, and I can’t tell you the service was incredible. Donna M was our server and she was so kind and welcoming, extremely attentive. It’s the best service I’ve had in a restaurant in a very long time, as well as this the food was incredible with an extremely decent price. We will be coming back and I would 100% recommend this place

Breakfast served by Sarah Paxton, Karen and Sarah C.. The latest were fabulous given the extra work they're having to do due to covid. One very rude man started shouting at one of the ladies because it took 15 minutes to cook their breakfast. Despite his rudeness, they continued to serve the man in the same professional way.Absolutely lovely with our children, and serving us with a continual smile.Thank you so much ladies.

We each enjoyed an excellent meal with the usual generous portions. The service from Sarah C was as good as it always is, which is why I describe her as my all-time favourite waitress.

Went for a meal last night first one since lockdown very well organised track and trace one way system around the restaurant staff very helpful and friendly donna t served us she was very friendly enjoyed the meal was nice to sit and relax and have a bit of normality again well worth the visit

Visited over bank holiday weekend, we had excellent food and service as always, and great value for money. Felt very safe management explaining covid guidelines, there was plenty space around us, screens in place, a one way system and hand sanitizer available. Thanks to the team at the haven.

We stayed at the nearby hotel from 28th may to 31st. We had breakfast each day which was nice and the service was excellent. We had an evening meal on the 29th and the server (Donna M) was just fantastic. We dined as a family with our 2 sons, our youngest has learning difficulties and autism. Donna was just lovely with Alfie and interacted with him and spoke directly to him. Not many people do this but makes such a difference to us and to him. He really liked her and she was so accommodating and very very pleasant. I would return again if she was our server. The service she provides should be recognised and an example to all empolyees on how to treat customers who have additional needs.

Arrived for my evening meal and was told sternly I had to use the track and trace BY LAW. Very rude service, made the rest of my time there awkward and unenjoyable. You shouldn’t treat your customers like this, I won’t come back and I wouldn’t recommend anyone else go there either.

First trip out since reopening and was slightly nervous but could of not been looked after better. Karen was our waitress and Sarah was the manager and both took the time out to have a chat and make sure we had everything we need and the breakfast was absolutely perfect. Such a warm and welcoming environment we can't wait to come back

Started off well, was served by Karen who was polite & friendly.Now for the bad, toast was stale & cold with only about 3/4 of an inch actually toasted, beans were cold, bacon & sausage under cooked and the hash browns were anemic, the only decent item was the eggs. For a nationwide restaurant chain I'd expect a lot better...

Waited on by Karen who was the most polite, curtious, professional waitress I've had serve me in a very long time. Thank you Karen for making my trip to The Haven most enjoyable. The food was delicious too, cooked and presented beautifully. Well done all!

I had fish which was massive. Well cooked and presented.i had Cadbury nibbles ice cream sunday which was incredible.The service was great, quite quick, and I must say, very friendly. They made the best out of this crap we are going through, keeping very cheerful.Nice ambience in the pub too.

Top marks to Karen and Sarah for their friendly and cheerful customer service at breakfast this morning. We usually go to our local Brewers Fayre in Cleethorpes but found a big improvement all around at Grimsby. Well worth battling the morning rush hour traffic across town. Keep up the great work!

We visited at lunchtime and our food was well cooked, generous and didn't take long to come. The service here is so good,staff are friendly and helpful. I felt so safe in this covid world as tables were well spaced and there was a one way system, hand sanitiser and only waitress service. Will definately visit again soon.

the staff here were all professional but very friendly, 2 young ladies particularly come to mind "Shannon and Sarah P" who both went above and beyond their duties. i have difficulty walking but even in these uncertain times they made sure we were okay. The food was fantastic and we will not hesitate to return when we are next in the area.

Popped in for breakfast 2Adults 2kids. Very well organised & safe distancing one way system. Order at your table and as much as you would like to eat either hot items or continental. Absolute bargain eat out to help out plus the kids ate free so all in all it was fantastic value!!!!! Even without the EOTHO scheme it’s a great value meal with kids 15&under eating free!!!! But what made me pretty angry was these poor companies trying to make a living in these unprecedented times and while we was there 5 yes FIVE groups did NOT turn up for their booking!!! Absolutely RUDE and they should be ashamed of themselves. A quick phone call or text message............do the right thing. If you’re not going to turn up to ANY restaurant for a booking you’ve made at least have the decency to let them know ‍♀️Haven ......you’re doing a great job

Thanks to Covid restrictions the atmosphere was a bit subdued but the service was as good as ever. Mike and his team are doing an excellent job in difficult circumstances. A heavily restricted menu but the food quality was as good as ever and the portions were generous as usual. We will certainly be back to our routine of every Sunday for lunch unless unable to make it.

Surprised that staff were not wearing face coverings.Food was tasteless and uninviting, wasn't value for money.Asked for an item of food to be omitted, but was served anyway.

First family meal at the haven since lockdown. The service was brilliant ordered drinks and meal within 10 minutes of arriving. The meal was thoroughly enjoyed by all can't wait to visit again.

First time back since covid 19 reopening. The level of service by all staff was outstanding. The self service breakfast has changed and the staff never stop they couldn't be more helpful. Karen and Sarah couldn't have done enough for us. The service has always been outstanding here and that's why we continue to return. Thanks again

I've been here about 40 times in past year while working away all the staff are so helpful an friendly an make you feel so welcome the food is amazing the atmosphere is great an they make you feel at home couldn't ask for a better place to eat an chill out after a long day at work definitely looking forward to my nxt visit even with the current covid situation you feel safe with the policys they have in place amazing pub amazing staff

Normally visit this establishment every week before lockdown, never had any complaints until today, was looking forward to going for lunch with family as we’ve not been for a while. We were however, spoken to very rudely and very patronisingly, was told we had to leave for a certain time even though we had booked, then was told numerous times to book in future .. there was no check back after being served and ordered a refills drink, refills drink Instructions was not given and customer was told they had to ask in future to get a drink to have the staff member patronisingly make me aware of COVID - even though the staff were no where to be seen to be asked for another drink. Appeared as though staff were not aware of what they were doing and lack of communication. And food was not as good a normal will not be returning anytime soon

Visit here every other week with the family as always been friendly and helpful staff, and great food. We arrived at our normal 1730 time bit didn't book as we never have and have always been accomodated even if we have to wait a while. Today we were met by a young lady with blind hair and glasses upon arrival. Have you booked? No, we never have needed too we said. Got nothing for you then where her words and walked off. Needless to say we went somewhere else and will continue to do so every other week now. It's a shame the haven have lost our custom now, but I'd be surprised if they survive the pandemic anyway as the place was very empty for a Saturday tea time.

Staff were excellent with the new measures and service was not affected in any way. The food was even better than I remember. Great to be back!

Great food and great table service. All covid precautions have been taken whilst ensuring a great dining experience. Staff were readily available to help with any issue. The food was cooked well and the desserts were lovely.

I always enjoy the Premier Inn Breakfast, although it is pricey. Good service. If i am back in the Grimsby Premier Inn, i will be having the breakfast again.

We have lunch there every Sunday unless away and it feels like visiting friends. The food is generally very good and the service is excellent. Nothing is too much trouble and any minor hiccups are dealt with promptly. The portion sizes are generous and the menu is very varied. Mike and his team work hard at giving good service and we appreciate it. Looking forward to our next visit.Trevor and Maureen

We're a family of 4 (2 adults & 2 kids aged 4 & 8). When we stay at the Premier Inn next door we always visit Brewers Fayre. We've always found the staff friendly & welcoming.The place is always clean & the kids play area is fab. As we visit alot, we've got to know some staff members. Janine who works in the play area (amongst other things) is so good with the kids & very helpful if you need anything.The breakfast is a must! All you can eat buffet style. There's so much variety & it's always hot & fresh. We can't wait to visit again.

I came in Thursday day time with my 87 year old mum and my 3 year granddaughter.

staff are rude and ignorant, don’t seem to like guys who are working away from home eating in their dirty chain pub, we are obviously not good enough to eat in a poxy little processed food establishment. KFC is bad but compared to this place it’s a Michelin starred restaurant. Zero stars from us!!!!

We were staying at the hotel next door and it was a wet rainy Sunday in Grimsby, what else was there to do other than go to the pubWe took our computers and sat on a sofa and ordered two refillable sodas, and stayed there for the next 4 hours. The atmosphere was relaxing, and no one made us feel like we had out stayed our welcomeWe didn’t eat but having been to several Brewers Fayres so I can imagine the type of food they serve. They were very lax in clearing the tables as several behind us didn’t get cleared for nearly an hour, not that anyone needed them, it just didn’t look good

Poor service at bar, got the order wrong, over charged me by £5, drinks machine not working but sent me there with empty glasses anyway, had to queue back at bar to get my glasses filled with Pepsi. Food was over cooked considering there was a delay and I didn’t think the food was value for money. Then had to walk through a wall of cigarette smoke to enter and exit the building.

We booked in July for Christmas day lunch at the time of booking I checked that a gluten free option wax available to be told no problem. When I paid upfront in November I checked again same answer when I took the completed menues in which I wrote gluten and wheat allergies on the form and checked yet again when I handed the forms in I was always assured that it wasn't a problem so when it came to our sitting on Christmas day I was astonished when I reminded the staff I was gluten free they didn't seem to have a clue about it. Luckily my starter was prawn cocktail with gluten free bread that was OK. Then it came to the main we was informed for the first time that it was a carvery not a sit down meal which we expected after picking what we wanted from the menu. I Informed the staff yet again that I was gluten free so I can't have a carvery. They sent a manageress to me who asked me how allergic are you, which seems to suggest a lack of knowledge by the staff on allergies as it doesn't matter how allergic you are an allergy is an allergy and should be treated properly. So I explained highly allergic to which we was given sliced turkey (which looked like process meat not freshly carved as everyone else was eating) served with cauliflower cheese, Brussels sprouts, mashed carrot and parsnip, no potatoes, no pigs in blanket, no Stuffing, no gravy and no Yorkshire puds so basically a bit of meat and scraps of veg that didn't go with Christmas lunch. We was then informed that my pudding I had ordered wasn't gluten free so I had to have a different one. We decided to take it home with us as you was informed that you only had the table for an hour so felt rushed none of this was mentioned at any time between booking and payment for the meal and at nearly £100 for 2 people for what was served to us was absolutely disgusting our Christmas was ruined my husband thought he was being nice booking it for us as I suffer from M. E and fibromyalgia so a break from cooking was the perfect present shame it wasn't the perfect meal

Our trip to Brewers fare this evening was unpleasant, we were not very warm, waited 50 minutes for food to be delivered, the food was cold chips, peas, onion rings appeared to have been stood waiting for the steak to be cooked. the whole meal was cold with the steak being tepid, the meal went back to kitchen mostly uneaten, I mentioned to staff member about the meal and she said oh dear sorry about that. I dont think that was good enough. a meal for 4 people spoilt, not a good experiance.

Excellent food value for your money staff are very friendly they also have a children's play area one inside and one outside for great for all ages .

Great service, but the “giant” haddock was anything but! To say it was a medium would be an over statement. The chips tasted like cardboard dipped in disinfectant. However, my wife enjoyed her gammon, egg and chips. Hence the score.
