Brew Espresso in Lancaster

So I go to this place with my brother and my close friend. We've made it our morning routine to dine in, order drinks and snacks, and chat in the back lounge area. What a lovely and charming cafe. I recommend their dark roast drip coffee paired with a nanaimo bar. The ambiance is cozy, warm, and inviting. The dark wood planks, the smell of coffee, and the light through their back window draw you in. The staff is friendly and delightful. The seating is great, coupled by your order to relax. They have one long table and charming coffee tables to the sides with considerable space. The draw for me is the couch and the two armchairs in the back, not to knock the other seating. You cannot beat a comfy couch. A single, well-maintained washroom is there as well for customers only.

I recently visited a cafe as my usual spot was closed for an event. I ordered 2 oat milk lattes and a drip coffee, which came out to about $23. When I asked if they offered refills on the coffee, they informed me that they did not, but they could offer me half a cup instead. While I understand the reasoning behind not wanting customers to order a single cup of coffee and get refills all day, it did seem a bit excessive given that I had already spent a significant amount of money. It definitely left me with mixed feelings about the place and has me questioning whether or not I would go back.

Absolutely fantastic coffee in a great setting. It was genuinely one of the nicest coffees I’ve had. I didn’t try the pastries but they also look great!

Bright and clean, relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Americano black is awesome.

Atmosphere: The earthly calmness as you step in. It feels like home. The atmosphere is soothing. It has plants. Local goodies to buy. Comfortable seating arrangements. I saw two people meet for the first time and they just started chatting. It's a communal place. Food: I had Café Mocha. It was one of the best so far in Canada. Even the best of Cafés in Downtown Toronto don't live up to this. They don't have many eatables but what they do have is a good appetizer along with the coffees. My friend had a cake. It lived up to the expectation. Nothing too extravagant.

Lovely cafe! Tried their matcha latte and London fog. Not bad. Lindon fog is a bit too sweet. Price is reasonable and atmosphere is relaxing.

Tried out this cafe after a pilates class across the street, it is sooo good. the matcha is delicious and if i lived closer to this coffee shop, I would be here everyday.

Nice little coffee shop. They have some decent empanadas. They didn’t have all the drinks on the menu available unfortunately. Worth a try if you’re in the area.

This is such a cute coffee shop, my cappuccino was really nice and my husband enjoyed his drip coffee.

Brock St Expresso is an amazing coffee spot on Main Street in Whitby. Coffee is excellent, staff very friendly and they have some great homemade cakes, loafs and cookies. One of our favorite coffee in the GTA.

I recently visited this café and was blown away by the great staff, fantastic coffee, and comforting atmosphere. The baristas were friendly and knowledgeable, and the coffee was expertly crafted. The cozy and inviting ambiance made it the perfect spot to relax and unwind. Highly recommend!

Below average, over priced coffee.

I got a matcha because I saw good reviews of it online (and nice pictures). I was disappointed with the matcha I got. There was a nice thin green layer of matcha on top but when mixed with the milk it was so dull and tasteless. The barista kindly added extra matcha to my drink when I asked. I don’t know what kind they use but it isn’t very strong or have a real matcha taste. If you aren’t picky about your matcha then go for it! But compared to the previous review of the good quality, strong and green matcha, this was disappointing. Still 4/5 because they were kind and they have good selection.

Went for the first time today after hearing from our family how good it was! Great coffee, love the ambiance and will definitely go back! Their hot coffee lids definitely need improvement though…they weren’t easy to put on and kept popping off throughout our drive home. A lot of coffee was spilled both on our hands, laps, sweaters & car cup holders. A bit dangerous….but other than this, we loved the spot & def recco. Cute place in downtown Whitby, with a downtown Toronto feel.

A decent PSL I had with a friend of mine, they have limited options in the eateries though, as well limited seating availability. But I enjoyed the non busy day long chat with 2 rounds of PSL when i visited🫶

Fantastic coffee and espresso and their bean delivery is super quick and well priced. Propellor Coffee beans are great too.

Decided to switch up from our usual spot of Jacked Up due to the prices ($$$) and landed here - what a pleasant surprise! The name is misleading - plenty of things to choose from aside from espresso (admittedly almost didn’t visit as I am not a coffee drinker). They had a GREAT selection of smoothies, decaf teas and food to choose from. The back is a nice and cozy lounge type area although the couch is a bit scratchy on bare legs and could use a blanket or a recovering. We had: caramel apple cider 🍎 blueberry scone 🫐 empanada and an herbal tea 🍵 Really cozy spot. Enjoyed it tremendously!

Great coffee, environment, people, and vibe.

Admittedly we tried this place after visiting Jacked Up and appreciate that the two places are decidedly different - both good. We found Brock St Espresso very cozy with a warm ambience. We tried a cortado and a drip coffee and both were very good. We’ll certainly be back to try some other things in their menu.

Incredibly rude and disrespectful owners. I only went there once because I had to use the washroom and I offered to buy something. After that, the husband of the owner told me to get out while I was in line to buy a drink and then came after my friend and I because his wife thought she saw my friend and I before. After my friend and I explained to the husband that him and I haven't been here, he continued to scream at my friend and I chase after us.

Such a cute little spot, the coffee and scones were perfect. They even sell their alternative milks which was an awesome surprise. Will definitely come back again!

Good coffee! Nice friendly vibe as well. Went on Boxing Day so wasn't very busy. Lots of seating areas inside for small groups and big. Love the big dining table in the back room for post pandemic big group hangouts.

Decent place. We tried the cappuccino, hot chocolate and a loaf. The loaf was good, unfortunately the hot drinks were a bit off. I would recommend they clean the tables after each customer, if possible

Good coffee. Cute design inside and outside. Friendly staff. Lots of unique flavor gelato! We tried ricotta rosemary lemon, raspberry ginger lime, peach champagne, strawberry basil lime and my daughter loved the ricotta rosemary lemon the best! 2nd visit with friends. We tried their homemade Eclair and Pumpkin chocolate loaf. AMAZING!!! We all loved them so much and didn’t wanna finish eating them! They were not too sweet and just perfect! We definitely go back again soon!

The crown jewel of coffee and good vibes in Durham hands down. My favorite drink is an almond milk flat white. They do loads of tasty Bevs there (and pastries are always available) but if you're in the hood...make sure you get your java HERE.

Quaint and lovely cafe. Great location. Don't miss downtown Toronto when you have options like this in heart of Whitby. Snacks with tea and coffee are tempting especially the scones. Wasn't expecting a wide range if tea choices, but there were quite a few!

I visited Brock Street Espresso for the first time and I received the best service from Nicki!! She’s incredibly friendly and made me the best latte I’ve probably ever had. The shop itself is very clean and inviting. I highly recommend giving this place a visit! I’ll definitely be a returning customer!

Super chill vibes and great coffee

Always a cozy place! I am not a coffee drinker but the chai tea latte is always great (with alternative dairy options every time). Highly suggest if you love chai lattes to try it with oat milk - its so very creamy!!! and recently I've been loving vanilla matcha lattes too :)Oh gosh! Gelato in the summer! the treats are always evolving too!!! This coffee shop reminds me that you don't have to be downtown Toronto to get that coffeehouse vibe. The furniture is cute and cozy- the wood floors, and always little plants everywhere, right down to the playlists! Local art is supported here too! A handful of times I've grabbed a bag of beans, a print and coffee for the road to gift to friends- and I have invited every friend here for coffee dates! Staff is so sweet, they know my order(s) and the owners are genuine people! yeah! Cannot say enough about how much I love that place!

In my opinion this place has the best coffee in the area. Not as much food options, but difficult to find better coffee without traveling downtown Toronto

I keep passing this place during my rides, finally decided to check it out. Glad I did! Great atmosphere to have a coffee and chill. Usually a coffee drinker, but decided to try out the latte, it was really good! Staff is pretty friendly, definitely go back again. Coffee is great and the ladies at the front are sweethearts

First of - decent coffee (a tad dark roasted for my taste but that is a personal preference and not a complain). They sell beans from propeller which is what took us to the place to begin with. I had a smoothie with berries and orange juice which was delicious. My issues were the staff and the service. At a place with patio i do not want to have to return the cups inside the store ‘once we are done and before they lock the door’. I found that somewhat disturbing. Other than that, good coffee, should visit.

My wife and I were looking for a coffee shop in Whitby similar to the quality ones you would find in Toronto. Brock St Espresso offers GREAT coffee, espresso, and service in a downtown Whitby location! As we're in lockdown, we got our coffee to go, but the feel and vibe of the coffee shop felt like you were California or Australia. HIGHLY recommended if you're looking for a top-end coffee shop in Whitby!

Great atmosphere definitely a chill spot. The portions for drinks only come in one size and the prices are a bit high. Has a selection of baked goods as well.

The most delicious cakes and coffee! Me and my mum had a flat white and a cappuccino, both delicious and perfectly made. We also shared a mocha blondie and a vegan coconut slice, ohhh my god so good! I wish we had got more cakes!!! Will definitely be returning for cake and sausage rolls x

Coffee tasted amazing. Brownie was one of the best I've ever had. Staff was friendly and welcoming. It has plenty of space and tables. Great for grabbing a hot beverage and getting some work done or read a book!

Trendy and cute coffee shop, but very mediocre coffee and extremely over-priced drinks. I came here twice and ordered a dirty chai and latte- both were quite weak. Their pastries are the same as every other cafe in the area- Circles and Squares...Nothing gluten/wheat-free.

4.25 for an americano which was OK at best. Baked goods are horribly overpriced as well. Won't be going back.

Good service and the barista was really nice. Great atmosphere one thing i would add is that I bought an almond croissant and there was barely any filling or flavor of almond, I'd rather pay more if I'd get more filling

Visited Brew twice now for breakfast. Cosy and welcoming environment with fab porridge! I would definitely recommend, although it can be on the expensive side.

We enjoyed the coffee and the cakes looked delicious although we didn’t eat so can’t say how they tasted. The decor is nice and the seating a little hard / uncomfortable which didn’t bother us too much as we were only popping in for a quick coffee, but if we were staying for longer we might have needed to move from the bench area to a table with chairs. Overall a nice place and service was fine

Ordered a cortado with oat milk and it was made to perfection. The pecan butter tart was really good, the base “shell” was unique.

Three of us had breakfast at Brew and it was excellent - good food, well served, great coffee. Small but really nice ambience - contemporary cool, calm and peaceful.
