The lady at the counter is so incredibly friendly. I ordered a bacon sandwich and a hot chocolate with syrup added and it only came to £7 which is incredibly cheap nowadays and it was probably the best bacon sandwich i’ve had. I had a lecture coming up so I wanted a coffee in my flask. Not only did the lady do it without any issues but spoke to me whilst making it and even did little art at the top, and the coffee was probably the best i’ve tasted! Definitely coming back soon

Clean environment, children friendly, Freshly sliced wholemeal bread bacon sandwiches and two coffee for takeaway this was a little more expensive than I would normally pay for but paid for better quality of food definately. Fresh Home- made soup and freshly sliced chunky bread was being prepared for lunch time definately a must for next time.

First, but most certainly not the last, visit. Coffee is, as other reviews have stated, truly excellent (and far removed from recent French experience!!). Thank you.

Very chilling atmosphere, really lovely coffee, very polite service through the front door at the counter, or through the serving hatch on the other side of the property, so it is possible to get delicious grub and gorgeous drinks without even having to deviate from whichever route one happens to be passing on. A proper independent café with local owners in the heart of Leicester. Highly recommended!

Very cute coffee shop with a nice selection of cakes! For a drink, I ordered a hot latte which was smooth and rich. You can sit outdoors and for solo cafe hoppers, there’s a bar and tall stools inside. Great service!

A wholesome lunch toastie with a great coffee. Delicious rosemary bread with tasty cheese. The homemade cakes looked good too but only wanted savoury this time.

Very nice coffee, nicest we have had in a long time, and they don't charge extra for plant based milks which other places do. We were served by Jessie and her service was excellent, all the staff there are lovely. Only down side is no vegan cake, but they are working on it.

Usually sandwiche's are great, just brought bacon and brie granary sandwich.. Bread great, good amount of brie but hardly any bacon... Small pieces that don't amount to even a slice! .... Will try different filling next time.

Discovered this lovely coffee shop today and I have to say that the service was very friendly and what made me super happy was I asked for a English cup of Yorkshire tea and it was served in a pot 😊 Very happy indeed. I tried the raspberry loaf slice Amazing! Very fresh and taste all home made . Will be coming here again definitely 👍🏼

One of my favourite coffee shops, the sandwiches are so yummy, I go in the mornings for a coffee and slice of toast. Their bread is the best bread I've ever had and the coffee is 10/10! Lovely staff and lovely atmosphere! Very friendly. Nice seats outside to sit and overlook new walk

A Coffee Shop in the historic heart of Leicester. I loved the relaxed, humble atmosphere inside. It was, unfortunately, a damp day during my visit. The contemporary, decadent outdoor seating cries for customers. The coffee setup is handsome: Victoria Arduino Mythos 1 grinder paired to a Nuova simonelli espresso machine. Coffee beans are complements of Monmouth Coffee Roastery. The result, beautiful chocolatey loveliness.

The ultimate hidden-gem of Leicester! Absolutely wonderful cafe, my favourite of all time! The owner is lovely and all the staff are chatty and friendly, fantastic customer service, they truly make you feel at home! The cafe itself is gorgeous, a rustic yet timelessly cool look, kitted out with vintage school benches and a retro kit kat machine. The owner is a skilled calligrapher and his fantastic typography adorns the walls. Not only does this cafe look stunning and have fantastic customer service, it also serves some of the most INCREDIBLE coffee I've ever had. They have delicious vegan milk options, and for those who don't enjoy coffee, they make incredible, velvety hot chocolate made with melted chocolate flakes and foamy milk. An absolute delight, not to be missed!

My favourite place in all of Leicester. Owner, Paul, has a passion for sourcing and serving coffee of the highest quality, and makes the best hot chocolate! This cafe is very whimsical, from the hand drawn calligraphy to its extensive spread of cakes. They love to support local producers when it comes to creating lunch specialties.

Best coffee shop I've found in Leicester. Lovely staff and great coffee. Getting a coffee to go and then strolling up New Walk sipping it is an early morning treat. Its also child friendly-ish - the staff were happy to see my 3 year old and made him a baby-chino, which he loved. The seating isn't the best for a toddler, but he enjoyed watching everyone go by from the big window and he was fine perched on my knee.

The best coffee in Leicester, but more importantly the best banana loaf. The bacon and sausage sandwich is also a life saver when I've done early office starts... and to top it all the friendly staff smile kindly at our inane banter :-)

Excellent hot coffee and real chocolate flakes for hot chocolate. I usually have pain au chocolat which is always an extra treat. Staff are very friendly.

Had a meeting in town and found this place just a short walk from hotel. They serve Monmouth coffee so it was immediately clear they’re serious about good taste and delivered a great flat white. I had one in the shop and another took to go. Great independent, prices to be honest are too cheap as the quality is top notch- well done guys.

Been here before and on the lats visit the gentleman was very friendly. place was very small but had a very cosy feel. dropped by in PM today after an appointment in city centre to buy a cappucino to drink on way home and thought would pick up two cakes (a brownie and a blueberry cake). tried to pay with card but unfortunately the card machine wasn't working. staff tried to fix it to no avail and I managed to scramble in my purse for some money and offered to return one of the cakes to cover as didn't have enough cash (and I really didn't want to walk back the way I came to the nearest cash machine) however the lady behind the counter was very lovely and gave me the cappucino as a complimentary drink as I had sat waiting for a little while. very generous of her and will be returning in the near future to return the favour! many thanks :)

I've been visiting Bread & Honey for over a year now for my lunch. The sandwiches have tasty fillings on excellent, freshly made bread. The boxed salads are great. And there's a daily choice of soups and hot dishes. The owner, Paul, and his staff are always friendly and pleased to serve.

Always fresh homemade products. Different soups daily. Amazing cakes and sandwiches. Always a pleasure to buy lunch from here

Haven’t been here for a while & remembered this little gem when I craved soup on a cold day.... not any ordinary soup but the best homemade puddle in a pot you could wish for! Forget getting anything else if you work in Leicester City Centre, go here- you won’t regret it... the staff are lovely too.

Passed by the place to grab a coffee and couldn’t resist their freshly made cakes. I loved their honey cake! Must try! Their coffee is strong and full of taste. You get the feeling that the people there make everything with love. I noticed that they also serve hot pots which I am very curious to try.

Great that they use Monmouth coffee but pointless to be closed from 3pm on weekdays and closed all weekend. Missing out on a lot of trade.

I enjoyed popping in here on several occasions whilst on Jury Duty at the Crown Court. I tried several different coffees and they were all freshly prepared and had great flavour. Has a lovely atmosphere and a lot of the customers are clearly loyal and come back on a regular basis. People were known by name and warmly received by the staff. They have a selection of very nice albeit a tad expensive cakes and bakes, but the real draw seemed to be for their homemade soups which were going like hot cakes whenever I went in. They don't serve silly 'mocha choca frappa chinos' so if you want that sort of thing then stick to your starbucks. Just good quality espresso's, cappuccino's, long black's etc. Impressed.

Fabulous little cafe! Had the most gorgeous homemade mushroom soup and beautiful fresh brown bread - just what was needed on a damp, cold day in Leicester. Rustic surroundings - benches and stools. Free wifi available. Delicious looking cakes and sandwiches on offer too, although didn’t try any. Would definitely visit again.
