Brasserie Blanc in Chichester

Food not as good as it used to be ! Service Great! Loud if you sit opposite the bar!

We were a group of 15 recently at Brasserie Blanc in Chichester and I couldn't fault either the food or the service. From the moment we arrived we were so well looked after. I had the crab bon bons, sirloin steak and Yorkshire rhubarb tart - all delicious! I would love to go back someday, highly recommended.

We ate here recently mid-week. The food, for the price was tremendous, with a special shout out for the Braised Squid, Chorizo and Chickpea Stew. Service was good without being exceptional and, with it being mid-week, it was fairly quiet so the atmosphere reflected that. Would definitely return when in the area, or try one of their other restaurants.

My family and I had lunch there today, the food was top notch, the service was first class, the restaurant is a well oiled machine which made my Mothers Day lunch very special. THANK YOU.

We went to Brasserie Blanc for a 50th birthday dinner. Service was great and we had a very lovely evening. We shared a number of starters between the table, then everyone had mains and desserts. I thought the price was perfectly pitched for this type of restaurant. The only reason I couldn't give a 5-star rating was that the food was under-seasoned to our taste. However, that is only a small thing and I would still really recommend eating here.

Food looks pretty but it's really dull, literally no flavour. My stipulation when I eat out is I want food better than I can cook at home. I can cook so much better than this. We won't be returning...

First time to Brasserie Blanc in Chichester but only a week or so since eating at another one. This time I had the salmon which had the most amazing sauce. My wife had the sausages and mash. Very nice. The cherry chocolate mousse is highly recommended for dessert. Mia welcomed us very warmly and continued when serving us. She is an asset to this restaurant.

Excellent food, fantastic service from Galvin, can't fault anything about this restaurant! The cheese soufflé is irresistible.

Most of the food was ok and definitely aiming for the high-end market. But my burger was pink in places. It may have been the size/nature of the party I was with, but the first server we had seemed a bit overwhelmed and trying to turn a simple birthday meal into a party. Lovely atmosphere though and with a smaller group I imagine this is a great little place to go.

Had a great meal, the 50% off mains was a total bonus. Staff are always friendly and helpful. We will be back.

Five of us enjoyed a pre-theatre dinner here on a Friday evening, celebrating three family birthdays. Three of us were vegetarian and chose the herb gnocchi which was delicious. The pork belly and mussels were also highly approved of, and we had sides of kale and cabbage. Sadly there was no time for dessert because of the theatre show. Service was impeccable; highly recommended, but we did book in advance of course.

1st time at one of these chains. Good food, nicely laid out Staff attentive Food was very good, a decent selection for the £20 a main. Steak a bit more. Next step up from Cote, We will go again

Shout out to the chefs (John), Rita and her lovely crew for we had a wonderful time at Brasserie Blanc. Our orders were taken and all served at the same time. We were able to bring our own wine without any corkage that Monday night as that was their promotion. We were served basket bread with spreads to enjoy prior to our mains arriving. My chateaubriand was perfect. I know they said its for 2 but I can easily scoff it down 😊 beef was medium rare and perfectly seared on all its sides. Tender and juicy. Side salad and fries included. Yes, fries -- crunchy and not too heavy since they werent chips which made me very happy. I tried some of the beef bourgignon it was very tender like it didnt need any chewing 🤣 love the sauce it came with. It has been simmered very well for it to have that consistency and texture. I tried some of the chicken balloutine -- juicy and seasoned so well. Always a lovely time here. This place is special to me. 😊

I ate the steak frites - well done. I really liked it, friendly staff and the restaurant could accommodate babies and toddlers. I will come back.

I wasnt sure if to put a 3 or 4 stars based on 1 issue that was quite a sensible matter to me but lets start with the positives: I went with my partner and a couple of friends and we all enjoyed the food. The waitress was really nice and friendly and food came quite quick. The setup of the place was nice and comfy. Now the negatives: My partner and I are recovering from a long and strong illness that made us not being able to celebrate christmas properly due tilo how strong this illness was and how we felt. We recently started going out again, this place being our first restaurant since our illness almost a month ago. While we did not mention to the waitress we were taking strong antibiotics that couldnt be mixed with alcohol we ordered mocktails and cocktails were given to us instead. Not sure how the mix up happened but needless to say I wasnt feeling great the rest of the night, gladly my partner wasnt as affected. The restaurant manager was nice enough to take both of our meals and drinks out of the bill btu that wasnt the point for us as we are not the type of people that are seeking for a free meal, it was mainly a big concern to us as we have been quite poorly for a while. I understand mistakes can happen and apart from that everything else was perfect. Luckily this wasnt an allergen issue as things couldve turned even worse. All in all though the place seems to be a good place to go to.

I was going to order a steak. I asked if chef could do me a side of mushrooms as they weren't on the menu. Fairly simple for any chef really. Unfortunately chef couldn't manage to do a side of mushrooms for whatever reason. So I ordered something else. Even I can manage a side of mushrooms.... Very Poor.... The food I ordered was very nice but the service was "Stretched" hence why we didn't order a pudding or coffee...... The customer comes first....not here....unfortunately

Great seasonal menu but a little expensive. Definitely worth a further visit after the Christmas period to try out the 'normal' menu.

Service very efficient and friendly.

We ate here Christmas Day and the whole experience was perfect, no rushing us through courses delicious food as always. We also attended the New Year's Eve celebrations, food was perfect as always atmosphere was great. The staff are so friendly and although maybe a little weak on New Years Eve with drinks service I forgive them as it was NYE and they were working.

Myself and my partner came yesterday on New year's Eve as a celebration and were left thoroughly disappointed with the whole experience. The waitress we had, acted and spoke as if she didn't want to be there and gave off a very unfriendly aura and in regards to the food my partner ordered the stone bass which was absolutely tasteless and she was given such a small portion and for £22.50 you would expect a lot more from the dish itself. As for myself I had the Grass fed Burger which again didn't taste of much and was way to dry. I had to cake it in sauce for it to be manageable and again wasn't a big enough meal to at all satisfy, nor matched the price that it was. The table we were given felt very exposed and impersonal as well, just all in all a very bad experience. To see the bill as well for what little we had was absolutely shocking. A very upsetting and disappointing way to end the year.

Second visit to Chichester branch. 2023 This time for my birthday. Still excellent throughout, service, food, drink and atmosphere. The manageress even remembered us from a couple of years ago how wonderful is that?! My only miniscule critique is I could have benefited from a steak knife. Still a five star from me and will come again for sure............ First time at Chichester branch. 2021 Came with the family to celebrate my parents 40th wedding anniversary. An excellent meal as always from Brasserie Blanc. Staff were welcoming, even with our very lively 4 year old, excellent service throughout. The only thing I would have preferred is to be on a round table instead of a long table as not able to chat easily with everyone but unfortunately with such a large party I don't believe they had a round table large enough. However I will continue to visit and recommend this fabulous chain, thank you BB for a lovely afternoon.

Thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday lunch. Recommend the roast beef. Big portion and bottomless potatoes, what could be better?

A party of 12 of us enjoyed a pre christmas celebration lunch today and it was superb! Food was faultless (bottomless roasties, yorkies and gravy!!) and fantastic service by a great team. Couldn't do enough for us and all the staff we met seemed to genuinely love what they were doing and that shone through. Everyone loved it - thank you to all the team for making it so special.

Work’s Christmas Do. Our second year, had to come back it was so good and they didn’t disappoint. Despite the fact that there were 25 of us all our meals came out together on hot plates. Absolutely delicious and the same high standard for all. Great team of attentive staff going above and beyond. Love the semi private dining area. This is by far the best restaurant in Chichester for quality, service and value for money.

We had a lovely dinner out 3 courses with a glass of wine This was a virgin experience voucher, for a Christmas Present and we felt well looked after by our waitress Mia We had a set menu to choose from which had a good selection to choose from . Will return.

Being a Monday night it was very quiet but the service and food was very good. Love the cheese souffle. The house red wine is delicious.

Always top standard , reliably interesting food. We love going there. Took a party of 18 and everyone raved about the food. Service friendly but efficient.

I ordered the confit of duck casserole - it arrived with the dry duck leg swimming in an oily soup. The maitre d'hotel agreed that this was well below standard. I ordered the sausage and mash instead, same as my husband. This dish is far overpriced and again the meal was rather mediocre. The wines are overpriced with the Pinot Noir at nearly £39. Maybe the usual chef had not arrived yet since it was early Saturday evening. Though we did not have to pay for one main dish, the bill with two starters and one desert came to nearly £100. The service was excellent and the waiting staff could not apologise enough. Since this was a Saturday night and the restaurant fully booked that evening, I wonder how the chef coped for the rest of the evening?

Walked in and asked for a table for 6 only to see it’s a cashless restaurant 🤬 Out of principle I will not use any restaurant or bar or pub that is cashless. Your loss

Lovely buzzy atmosphere. Staff are all good but especially Rita who has apparently been promoted from server to management! Been going here for years and have regularly been served by Rita. She has exactly the right blend of professionalism, efficiency and friendliness

Great service but small portion size, duck cassoulet came with no vegetables or potatoes so a good job I'm on a diet. Tasty food non the less, will go again but will check what accompanies the food before I order best time, is my own fault.

Attended a 80th birthday celebration last night.Lots of family including children. Had a wonderful evening. The food & service was excellent. A shout out goes to our main waiter Ruben. He made sure everyone in our party had drinks & food with a lovely professional manner. He even took our family pic as not very often we all get together as brother over from Oz! Thank you to all the staff who ensured we had a lovely evening.

Lovely atmosphere and great menu. The restaurant is decorated beautifully and has a nice, relaxing feel to it. The food was delicious, particularly the cheese souffle which was by far my favourite dish. The non-alcoholic drink options were fairly good, the 'Zest Fest' was my drink of choice and was like a zesty non-alcoholic mojito, which I really enjoyed.

Lovely food and very good service. Was very busy even at 7pm on a thursday. Despite that, the food came out very fast and prompt. Decide against getting my favorite cheese soufflé this time but would definitely recommend that to anyone who visits. I had the burger and the pistachio soufflé. The burger was beautifully cooked and full of flavour. The chips were delicious but portion of them is a little bit on the smaller side. The pistachio soufflé was extremely light and airy and had a lovely subtle pistachio flavour which was lovely with the chocolate ice cream.

Having only previously visited the Winchester restaurant, it was interesting to compare the two - but they both score equally well. Service was polished and friendly, the menu and wine list were wide-ranging. Food at BB is consistently good - the confit of duck is a delight. Service is attentive but you're never pressurised, which makes for a very good evening out.

We had a 3 course meal on Sunday lunch time. Restaurant was fully booked, but didn't have to wait too long for food. All 3 courses were delicious and nicely served.

Superb lunch. Both main courses, the braised squid and the herb gnocchi, were delicious. The pistachio soufflé was one of the best desserts ever. It was busy at lunchtime but the service was helpful and cheerful. We were eating before going to the Festival Theatre which is a 15 minute walk. Definitely will return to Brasserie Blanc.

I took my wife and friends here for an evening meal about three weeks ago. There was a nice greeting from staff on arrival and the restaurant was very pleasantly decorated. We ordered drinks which I thought were a little on the expensive side but hey we were all set for a memorable experience. I and one of my companions ordered the sirloin steak. I was very disappointed the steak was cooked to my liking but was tough and to confirm this my friend left a third of his. Not what I was expecting when the menu hyped the meat as 28 day matured and costing £28 pounds.My wife had a dish described as braised squid, a watery type of liquid containing a few pieces of squid rings, 5 thin slices of courgette presented with a half of hard french stick, it was perfectly edible but very disappointing. On this experience I will be look at other eateries in Chichester.

When other restaurants were shut or shutting or unable to offer a table due to lack of staff, we found Brasserie Blanc. So glad we did. Busy and vibrant. Fantastic service, good value , lovely food. We definitely make it a regular dining venue.

We both enjoyed our meals of the Crab Bon Bons & Moules to start and the mains of grilled smoked Pork and Lamb Roulade. No room for dessert!. Good selection of wine by the glass/carafe, the Pic Poul Rose & the Malbec were spot on, all topped off with great friendly, professional service. A perfect evening.

A party of 8 which confused the restaurant in responding to the food order. Service from the kitchen was very slow and meant spending some two hours to eat starter and main? Unable to recommend the signature Gin and Tonic. The addition of a sprig of rosemary to the lemon and cucumber confused my taste buds and I prefer the 'original' tonic water. The food was good although the trout starter left the kitchen burnt and had to be changed.

Can't fault the food or service. Me and my husband have been to brasserie blanc on many occasions and the food is always fabulous. Cocktails are amazing and the service is faultless.

Pleasant pre cinema dinner with family. The service is excellent and attentive and a nice menu. Really good and super desserts. One main dish had an issue, was quickly and discreetly replaced and not charged for.

Disappointed. We've dined here before and had lovely meals, but not this time. The lamb roulade was nearly inedible and the tables were not cleaned properly. Way overpriced for what was sub gastro pub meals.

Most disappointed in our food on Monday 4 September. I didn’t want to make a fuss because it was my husband’s birthday and did not to spoil the day. The summer menu lacks the excitement of previous menus over the years. I chose the fish cake, but this was dry and tasteless - like reheated leftovers! The normally brilliant cheese soufflé was also disappointing, only the pistachio soufflé was good, great in fact. A sad experience and a costly one at £232 fir three people 🙁

You can tell when a place is well run from the minute you walk in. No wiping down of tables, confused staff and then, no delays in being served decent food. Brasserie Blanc scored tops on all these counts, the place being run with precision...

Atmosphere always good. Pleasant surroundings and the staff are always polite and attentive. The food is always hot and presented well. It was my mother's 89th birthday, and a complimentary glass of bubbly was presented to her, a nice touch.

We were superbly well looked after by Saskia. Excellent nibbles (anchovies + olives) followed by very tasty fish and steak dishes. Their Bérnaise needs to be taken up a notch to be first class, but otherwise no complaint whatsoever.
