Brasserie Blanc in Milton Keynes

After a great experience at the Portsmouth branch last year we thought we should give our 'local' a go. Plus there was an offer for money off that we didn't want to miss. We rang in advance, but as not busy, they said to just turn up for a late lunch / early dinner. Tip: park across at the supermarket. Service was just as good in MK and the food of a high standard. We enjoyed everything. Our server also recommended the pistachio souffle and yes, it was delicious. My only comment is that it feels the current trend for all vegetarian dishes everywhere is artichoke or celeriac based. I'm bored of both already, so something else would be nice. Nevertheless, we're already planning a return visit to use another discount offer!

Really disappointed and we usually rely on this restaurant for consistency of food and service. Admittedly my husband booked it for Mothers Day so it was always going to be busy, but the incessant murmuring of restaurant music in the background was unrecognisable as a sound track and was just a constant annoying noise in the background. The Front of House lady did not great us with a smile or any warmth, in fact with the exception of our waitress none of the floor staff really looked like they wanted to be there. The service was slow and quite a few meals were on the pass for longer than they really should have been. Having ordered the Sunday roast on numerous occasions, my husband and I opted for the roast beef. The meat was fantastic but the meal looked like it had been dropped from a great height. The cabbage was excessive in quantity, seriously undercooked and cold (as were the potatoes). Whilst the roasted beetroot, red onion and parsnips were not in my opinion a palatable combo to this dish, they were slimey and oily and are not (I think) usually present on the Sunday roasts. We both left a considerable amount of food on our plates and no questions were raised by the waitress. Sorry Raymond too much time filming TV shows and not enough quality control in your restaurant empire.

Lunch for 8 to celebrate a special birthday. Communication with the staff to pre book our meal choices was excellent and we loved the nicely decorated and cosy private dining area provided. The choice on menu was good and quality of food exceeded our expectations. Service throughout was friendly and on point . Thank to all the staff for assuring a throughly enjoyable celebration for us.

Excellent food, good service but a pity that the Brasserie Blanc chain has followed the herd and plays annoying and irritating background music that makes the clientele have to speak louder to be heard, which in turns makes the evening less enjoyable

Returned to Brassarie Blanc after a long time and was not disappointed. Was last here before COVID and it was great to return to the resturant and find it very lively and with its usual vibe. The host received us well much as we didn’t have a booking. After waiting briefly at the bar, we were ushered to our table and became real comfortable. I ordered a starter of fish soup and a main of sea-bass. They were both to die for. Our waiter was amazing. Kudos to Pawel originally from Poland. He attended to us with a high level of professionalism. Look out for him when U visit the hotel next. This is one resturant I will always come back to while in Milton Keynes. It beats the pack for me. 🙏👌👍👏💪😉

Excellent food, excellent surroundings, and full on a Tuesday evening, always a good sign for any restaurant

This was our first visit for a birthday celebration and we had a very enjoyable evening. We were seated at the far end in the circular seats which was really comfortable. Excellent food and service. We look forward to our next visit.

Lovely venue with top notch service. Desserts absolutely fabulous. Starters and Main courses not great at all, and definitely over priced, with small portion sizes. If you order vegetarian you will definitely need sides.

Great experience just before Christmas for a meal with school friends. Our waitress was great and very friendly. Food was lovely. Great location just on the edge of MK Hub so can wonder to the bars after and have a few drinks as well.

Haven’t been here for 18 months and had bigged it up to my partner. It didn’t disappoint. Fantastic Sunday roast, served piping hot, nice selection of deserts and the usual brilliant serving staff (nice to see so many still there, it must show what a good employer they have)

This is my second recent visit. There are now two very large tables in the middle of restaurant which clearly is not effectively soundproofed. It is impossible to have any conversation as the noise level from two very large parties is understandably very high We waited over an hour for our food to be told (just before delivery) one of my friends sides was now unavailable. My burger& chips arrived cold and frankly quite sparse (zero garnish) As my friend’s food was hot I guess mine was left to go cold while they completed hers. I did try and complain to the server when she cleared my half eaten plate but she either couldn’t hear me due to the awful noise or just ignored my comment. This used to be a lovely restaurant but seems to more interested in larger parties as it’s impossible to have an enjoyable evening straining to hear and talk on the smaller nearby tables. Add cold food - an expensive waste of what should have been an enjoyable night out.

We visited with a Virgin Experience Voucher but would definitely make a return trip. Even though we were on a set menu, we were treated no differently to full paying customers, unlike some places we have visited. One of our food choices had run out and the server happily offered us an equivalent alternative. All of the food was cooked fresh, presented beautifully and tasted amazing! The portion sizes were generous and the whole place was busy but felt relaxed. Our bottle of tap water was replaced before we had a chance to ask for more and the staff were all very attentive. We had the crab balls and soufflé to start, followed by the trout (sea bass had run out) and the lamb roulade. We would recommend both. We're very much looking forward to making a return visit.

The service was excellent, the food was really nice and very good value. I have been there three years running and it is very consistent with all of the above.

I think it’s fair to say that Milton Keynes is a little off the beaten track when it comes to quality restaurants, with not a single restaurant in the Michelin Guide. Seeing the name Raymond Blanc immediately offered some potential comfort. I think this is a competent restaurant, members of our party enjoyed correctly cooked steaks and fish showing good technical competence from the kitchen. I also found the standard of service to be high, I don’t just mean friendly but professional too, always remembering who’d ordered what. Judged in the culinary desert which is MK, this restaurant is good. The only issue I have with this place is value for money. Three courses with decent wine, coffee and service elevates the bill to well over £100 per head. That’s a lot of money for the quality of food on the plate, In most Western European countries that price would put you firmly in Michelin one star territory, which this place is nowhere near. The menu is only fleetingly French (I live there). You also have to go a long way down the wine list to find something of good quality.

Found this gem during our visit in MK. My wife and I have enjoyed a wonderful night with great food and service. We love this place a lot. Looking forward for next visit.

We visited here New Years Eve, knowing they would be booked to the brim as we took the last table of 4. I have to admit when any restaurant that is fully booked normally the service or the food quality will suffer slightly, but certainly not on this occasion. The food quality was exceptional together with the service, this was all backed up with a live singer. The majority of fellow diners went that extra to put on their glad rags which was a nice touch. As per usual thanks to the team at Blanc’s for a memorable 2023/4 to remember.👌

Went here for Christmas Dinner on Christmas Day, paid a LOT of money and tbh it was a bit disappointing. The staff although pleasant enough were neither friendly nor attentive. I dont think our waitress smiled once, we have to keep asking for drinks as noone was checking if we needed anything or if everything was ok. There was no christmas crackers on the table as we have had previously. I had the turkey which was stringy and fatty and came with virtually no trimmings. The poached pear we all had for dessert was so un-poached and hard you needed a knife and fork to cut into it. We paid a £50 "service charge" plus £100 each, plus drinks (including coffee which wasn't included) and came away feeling a bit ignored and underwhelmed. We have been for Christmas Dinner before COVID and had a much better experience then, we will not be returning.

Very disappointing Xmas day meal ! Normally love this restaurant so booked for Xmas Day dinner 2023 , was very disappointed. No roast potatoes, no pigs in blankets, no Xmas crackers . No atmosphere. Not xmassy at all ! Waiter very good however another waitress was clanking cutlery into a drawer for the whole time we were there . Altogether I’m sad to say it was awful and a waste of money !

I really like this little spot, nice decor, good size, open kitchen. Toilets are situated upstairs but I think there is a lift for them also. Reasonably priced menu, I had the steak, which I asked for medium rare but it came medium, I decided to eat it anyway as it did look good and tastes good too. Lovely spot, we went for lunch, the cheese souffle was superb! The coffee was nice and strong. Sadly they dropped the ball when it came to the burger, the bun wasn't fresh and it pretty much disintegrated with the first bite. The chicken ballotine was not amazing either.

We booked an early dinner around our theatre trip. It was a very hot day and as soon as we walked in, we realised the air on wasn’t on/ working. We placed our order and the service was great as always. Unfortunately, it was so hot and uncomfortable, we just needed to get out quick. We asked about the air on and were told it was on but not blowing out cold air. The poor staff working there and also those in the kitchen area should not have to work in that level of heat. Nor should customers be expected to come. I think it would have been wise to consider closing, get some portable machines or at least point it out on arrival. The fastest, hottest £90 we’ve ever spent! I really can’t say we enjoyed ourselves on this visit although I’ve given four stars for the food and service!

This is now our best place to go for a Sunday roast. The meats are melt in the mouth tender and the bottomless roast potatoes are the best in MK. I would love to know the variety of potatoes you use. I couldn't fault it....

EDIT: Attended again recently. We still enjoyed our visit, and the food was very nice as always. The wait and kitchen staff were slammed, though. A very busy Friday evening, and it was clear they were struggling to keep up with a full house. There were long waits between courses, and after our initial drinks on arrival, it was very hard to get anyone's attention to order more, so we went without and declined dessert. Many tables surrounding us were in the same situation with long waits and lack of check-ins. Feel this was an under scheduling/staffing issue as I want to make it clear the staff themselves were amazing, polite, friendly, and trying very hard to spread themselves between large sections. Previous visit: Always go here when we have a special occasion to celebrate. Tonight was for my husbands 30th. As always, they don't disappoint. Relaxed atmosphere, great services, polite and friendly staff, all topped by delicious food.

I was truly amazed to find a bit of France in Milton Keynes :). Every single dish was cooked to perfection - fish dishes, meat dishes, the starters (escargots - never have I eaten this dish made so well outside of France :)). Our entire group was enchanted by the delicious food and delightful staff. I definitely recommend Brasserrie Blanc :)

As a regular business traveler in the area, this is a must to return to. Always busy, so a great atmosphere. The food is fresh and tasty. Portions are fair and the prices are reasonable.

First ever visit. The welcome and service were excellent. The food was really nice. I went for things that were outside my comfort zone, but everything was excellent. As Milton Keynes is not too far from where I live, I think we will try to go again.
