Had a fantastic afternoon. Six of us did the brewery tour with Simon. Very interesting and informative and a good laugh. Then to the tap room to sample the first class beers. I would highly recommend the brewery tour or just a visit to the tap room. Thanks again Simon and all the staff.

Relaxed ,friendly and great beer !Well not just beer ,wine and local gins too ,oh and a bag of crisps ! Sometimes open mic nights and a quizz but whenever you go ,you're assured of a warm welcome .We were on holiday but once discovered went back every night for a pint or 2 .Bought a wee carry out to take home to Scotland with us .Next time we're in the area we'll be sure to pop in ❤️

Awesome place! We've been in Malton on holiday and to visit this very small local brewery for some let- the- holidays-begin-pints was the first thing we had to do :-). The staff and the other locals were very, very nice- we felt very welcome and had nice company. The beer- fantastic! 😍. So... definitely worth a visit even from farer away. No food served but there are crisps and nuts ;-)

I absolutely love this place they do some amazing Craft beers & Real ales,beers like bad kitty a beautiful dark beer or for something a little lighter sunshine IPA and brewed on site, they also have a good selection of guest beers along with cider & others, definitely a must if you come to Malton.

Brasscastle have my favourite Gluten Free Stouts! Always love trying the new flavours they bring out but do miss their classic Helles. Really fantastic, falavoursome GF beers and the customer service, packaging for online orders is ace!

Fabulous, friendly little tap house for the Brass Castle Brewery on the main street in front of the brewery. Great selection of cask, keg and canned Brass Castle beers at very reasonable prices. They have a loyalty card scheme too - buy 8 pints/16 halves and get a free pint 👍

Fantastic dog friendly tap house, selling merch, a brilliant range of brews including local ciders, with a fab playlist and wonderfully kind, friendly locals who make the place an even better tap house than it was already. Being made to feel welcome, with locals and the staff making a fuss of the dogs as well, it is most definitely visiting and having a few fantastic drinks. Bad Kitty is always the star of the show, but if visiting soon, try the Christmas version as it's gorgeous.

Found this place after deciding to base ourselves in Malton fora weekend in North Yorkshire, As a craft beer fan it was really nice to find. Nice selection of their beers on tap and in the fridge and a nice cosy set up. Would definitely visit again

I first noticed this establishment three years ago but didn’t pluck up the courage to walk in until this week It was quiz night which was packed and had already started. I was kindly advised there was more space upstairs and after taking one of their many brewed on site ales with me I sat in the lounge Beer is amazingly prized, staff welcoming and knowledgeable, I am glad for my health it’s not on my door step I will be back next year

We just love this little Taphouse. A small, but very craft, selection of their own beers. All are vegan friendly and many are gluten free. Really friendly staff and customers. If you go in by yourself, someone will soon start chatting to you. Some great events too. Tap takeovers and quizzes. Definitely worth a visit.

Great little brew house, good selection of ales, very knowledgeable and friendly staff (New Zealander) Elvia Impersonator (porter) and their house IPA and both very easy drinking.

The perfect place to spend a Saturday afternoon recovering from the horrendous February weather. Had a very warm welcome from the two friendly staff behind the bar who helped us chose what to drink - started with the tester tray which was fun and delicious! Sat by the cosy fire and watched the world go by. A place full of character - and characters! Like sitting in your front room with lots of mates around. Can't wait to go back, and stay for longer! And thanks for the recommendations for other places to visit while we were in Malton - especially the instructions of how get into the Library!!!

Opening hours ridiculous, opens 4pm. Toilets totally inadequate. No disabled toilets. Has to be shared with ladies & gents 1 @ a time

Called in early evening & the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. Sampled a very nice pale ale at 3.9% which slipped down very nicely. We will be back to sample more ales from the brewery behind the pub.

The Brass Castle Brewery Taphouse is typical of the genre and the decor and furnishings are smart, albeit in the expected modern, understated way. Service was pleasant and, again as you would expect in a brewery taphouse, the young ladies behind the bar were knowledgeable and helpful re the various beers on offer. We had a session IPA which was very good and the atmosphere in the pub was very pleasant. This is certainly a pub we would use again.

I've not had the pleasure of visiting but have ordered beer from them to London which doesn't always look after coeliac households as well as you might expect. A real pleasure to do business with them - a really diverse & delicious selection, reasonable and fantastic service.

Can’t fault the beers at all. Fantastic range and options to suit anyone’s taste in beer, whether you’re vegan, coeliac, like pale ales, stouts or sours. Very friendly, informed and knowledgeable staff who are more than happy to recommend beers for you. Very reasonably priced. Good selection of gins and soft drinks too and one of the most dog-friendly places I’ve ever frequented!

Fantastic, trendy little taphouse with great tasting local ales, all made in their own brewery situated at the back of the bar. The staff are very welcoming, helpful, knowledgeable about their products and one of the nicest thing about them is that they remember you when you make your next visit. I would also recommend their various offers on take out beers, they offer a variety of packages from 3 gift ales to whole boxes of their best sellers. On a final note, if you're lucky, you may even get to see the inside of their brewery, which I personally found fascinating. Well worth a visit to this taphouse.

Amazing beer just avoid the mini keg. This is my favourite brewery I picked up a mini keg for my birthday unfortunately two of the 8 pints were undrinkable due to the amount of turb in it. Once again stick to cans or bottles if ordering. EDIT fantastic response from the Brewery good level of information and resolved to a great standard nothing less than I'd EXPECT from the best brewery in Yorkshire

Ordered a 5ltr keg of Emergency Bitter. Unfortunately, it arrived damaged - probably in transit. However, Kev at the brewery wasted no time in sending out a replacement and my thanks goes out to him. It is lovely to have a pint of fresh draught bitter after making do with bottled beer from the supermarket during the lock down . It is such a shame (yes, really) that I have to enjoy this beer on my own right now. Oh well! Needs must 😁🍺🍺🍺

Brass Castle beer is well known to craft beer drinkers and where better to sample, but at the brewery tap. Traditional hand pumps are here too. Welcoming staff. Good Wi-Fi. No food. Probably the best bar in Malton for the discerning beer drinker.

This is a must visit on a trip to the town to try the excellent range of real and craft ales. The prices are very reasonable and there is also a good selection of cans too !

Often come here for a few pints when out in Malton. Never disappoints. The staff are really friendly, it a great atmosphere and best of all, the beer is first class. It’s great when you can learn a little bit about what your drinking.

We visited Brass castle brewery as part of a guided tour with Mark from Brewtowntours. We were shown the business end of production and then tested the wares in the small tap house at the front. Thankfully, mark kept us moving as I'd still be there drinking their superb Helles lager. Well recommended. Great beers brewed by people who clearly care about beer. I' not certain why one reviewer felt the beer choice was limited, when we visited they had at least 6 different craft beers. I suppose it depends how much you want to drink... And it's all vegan if that's important for you.

A pleasant little place to sample the brewery's produce but not much else is on offer. The beer choice was very limited and although I generally love golden/very pale ales, unless they contain wheat, I didn't like the one I tried here (Northern Blonde).

Brilliant laid back vibe and friendly service. The keg and cask beer is exceptional and extremely reasonably priced. A real find which am sure I'll return many times to.

A rustic, small drinking pub with brewery at the rear. Good selection of their ales and at least one guest beer. No food to speak of but apparently you can order in a takeaway to eat there which would be great.

Great beer, nice staff and sensible prices. Not much else to say, a lot more cosy than a lot of 'converted warehouse' taprooms that seem to be the trend now where you're served by scowling moustached bartenders taking themselves too seriously. Brass Cass has friendly staff, happy to let you try beers before you buy and a friendly atmosphere. Coffees and gins all on point too. But mainly the beer is just really really good.

Staying in Malton over Christmas found this interesting little bar, always busy with a great atmosphere, locally made beer which tasted amazing, defiantly one of my favourite drinking places in town.

Called in at lunch time to sample the beers. We enjoyed two taster trays of different types of beers, from stouts, through amber beersto light flowery ones. Great choice and excellent quality - very enjoyable. The staff were friendly, knowedgable and informative about the beers. It doesn't sell food apart from a few vegan pies, but we were told we could order food in from local pizza places. Great place.

We visited the Brass Castle Tap House and really enjoyed ourselves. The ales are just superb; I like dark beers and my wife likes fruity IPA and we were not disappointed. The staff are very knowledgeable and there is always good conversation to be had with other customers. We thoroughly recommend you visit this unique establishment and try the ales. They now have a 'Crowler' machine which allows them to can any of the ales on tap right in front of your eyes as a take-away; its about 1.6 pints so great to share with someone! They also now have a 'Crowler Club' through which subscribers can receive discounted prices on all purchases and other benefits; recommend you search their web page for details.
