This is our local pub and we really enjoy popping down here for a pizza and drink if we don’t want to cook! It’s usually possible to get a table without booking which is handy, and it’s got a lovely friendly and relaxed vibe, with nice decor, and a good pub quiz on a Wednesday too. I like the fact they sell pizzas instead of the traditional pub grub, and they are really tasty, good quality pizzas too. They do vegan cheese and a few vegan pizza options, and the rosemary fries are amazing too. They don’t have a vast menu besides that although they do do nice soup as well. My only minor complaint is they don’t do salad! I’d love to have a nice healthy salad as a side to my pizza :)

Best wee pub, great for students too with amazing prices! Food always good and staff even better. Such a welcoming place, i even booked it out for my birthday! Manager was super attentive and closed the whole place for us. Definitely my favourite place to get drinks and food! I would highly recommend!

a gem. super chilled atmosphere and staff. Utterly delicious food: thin base crusty pizza and proper chips with the potato skins on. Amazing. Its on a busy crossroads but you'd never know once inside its got such a relaxed ambience. Highly recommend(:

Amazing little pub. We were visiting family from South Wales and had two toddlers in our party and the staff were super friendly, lots of banter. Nothing was too much trouble and they had a great selection of local whiskies and alcohol we hadn't heard of before. The coconut gin pina colada was a definite hit 😋 👌

One Canon is a "pizza pub" with a great ambience, drinks, comfortable tables, board games, and a proper pizza setup. This late-night ethical hangout serves delicious pizza at reasonable prices. Hence, do not expect an Italian restaurant, distillery, or rock music cafe. It's independent and picks drinks from local producers with similar values. The Micro Machines exhibit cases on the wall, board games, and great ambience. A rotating special and roughly 10 pizzas make up the menu. I would have devoured the entire menu by now, but the specials keep distracting me. I'll persevere! One Canon's pizzas and booze may also be ordered via Just Eat and delivered to your apartment before that franchise chain's branded bike with a poorly paid driver. The indie also has fantastic drinks for an indie with good taste. I don't drink much, but I want it nice when I do. One Canon has a good selection, not dominated by one source, and prices for most wallets. I want a certainly friendly vibe when I visit a pub. I want comfortable chairs, weathered tables (with service), and enough noise/music to give ambience without making it too loud to talk to friends. One Canon nails these. The personnel are excellent and part of a small but responsive, capable, charismatic team. Someone who knows the business and has spent time at the pub will help you quickly. I've seen the same crew at One Canon, which says much about the facility. Hence, One Canon is ideal for numerous events. I'd bring my work team, and the pizza pub might give discounts. I'd consider that for lunch and post-work beverages, but the kitchen doesn't serve lunch daily. Where to get indie drinks and delicious pizza? Surely it has to be here. One Canon is fantastic for pizza, beverages, and especially for the staff and atmosphere. This pizza pub, a true indie in central Edinburgh, offers a perfect combo of drinks and pizza! Recommended. [Update: October 23 - They take part in Edinburgh's cocktail week and are my favourite venue for it. I mean, an Old Fashioned or Highball with a spicy pizza is divine!] [Update: Dec 23 - Increasingly popular with local tabletop gamers and this is a good thing]

Menu changed drastically. It's a pizza pub!!. Great idea and you can get take away. I never heard of anything like it. Hope it does well

We were very happy to have stumbled upon this place! Was quite chill, relaxing and the music was great. Loved the drinks we had and we also had a really good time playing some board games. Martin was very nice to talk to, would definitely visit again soon!

I really love this bar, it's a very chilled little corner of Cannonmills serving really tasty, no fuss pizzas and they have a good beer selection too. The staff are always so polite and friendly which makes the place feel so welcoming. Great place to have a few drinks with friends and share some tasty pizza....

Excellent place for a pizza and a great time with friends! I like that you can ask for a gluten free version too- very decent dough. The place has a main area and a side area a bit quieter with booths. Prices are reasonable. If you cannot eat so much you can ask for a take away box 📦😃. Definitely coming back!

Super friendly service, great pizzas and sides, and some quirky touches inside. Scott asked about our day and plans for our stay and our server was jokey and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Great place, family friendly and fairly priced

After a long day of driving and visiting castles. My partner and I decided to go to this quirky rustic bar, which is only a short walk from our accommodation. Firstly this is by far the best service we have experience in Edinburgh. The staff were very welcoming, fast and always asked if we needed a top up for drinks which was a bonus. The Food was gorgouse as this was not oily and not burnt, the side of halloumi was a good side too. The atmosphere was chilled and comfortable also. Over all this was such a great end of the night, however I would have loved it if the pizza came with optional sauces like the garlic and herb dip haha.

I really like this pub on first impressions. I went in to collect a pizza (which was indistinguishable from Domino's) and enjoyed a GF pint (I was having a gluten cheat day). A nice warm environment and an owner who cares about his business, with kind & professional staff. From my brief look, there appears to be an ethical element & an effort to include options for all, be it vegan, GF, etc. A lovely calm place to enjoy a pint and a book, or hang out with friends. I look forward to trying out some of the inviting options on the menu in the near future.

Fun, fast, tasty inexpensive pizza.

Great venue, would be 5* but the experience was dampened by the fact that they were quite clearly understaffed, unfortunately making it difficult to get a drink.

Nice pub. Quirky, creative, low key gastro pub vibe. Staff were great. Friendly. Couple negatives: place needs a lick of paint (issues with leaks in one wall) and sadly the Pizzas we ordered lacked flavor. It’s weird they looked lovely but the crust and sauce base was a touch bland. Needed more seasoning.

Brilliant as usual. They only have two burgers on the menu but I genuinely think their bacon cheeseburger is the best burger in Edinburgh. Always super friendly, dog friendly and great service.

Always a warm welcome here for us and dog! No hot water in the loos though! Good choice of vegetarian dishes in a fairly simple menu.

Really enjoyed going here, not long moved in to the area and like the local feel of the bar, service was second to none, friendly and great staff. I will say the beer is a bit on the expensive side but to be fair the have a great choice and it great to try.

Had a drink in the snug with my 2 sons. The beer was good and the service was good. There was a nice atmosphere about the place.

Was ok. Was cold inside, had to keep jackets on and disappointing they couldn't accommodate food allergies. Still will go again as we're local. Good pint of Leith juice. Update for Martin - was a dairy intolerance, apparently all the vegetables were prep'd using butter and there was no alternative possible.

Nice beers and wine. Fitted us in a table on news year Eve but no food but chips until evening time.

Grubby at best, very overpriced very average food. Most choices don't come with a side, despite being around £14!!! Sides start at £5:50 AVOID

What a great place, excellent food , staff that are both helpful and friendly ( unlike many others) . Nice laid back feeling want to visit again and again 😀. The menu isn't the largest but it doesn't need to be as it's all great food well presented, had the crispy chicken on smoky bacon and waffles 😋 and the corn ribs were amazing. All this and dog friendly too 👍🐶

Went for dinner and got the fish and chips, burger, and the seed lip mocktail. It was delicious—some of the best fish and chips I’ve had. Burger was tender and juicy and chips were on point. Definitely will return!

Went for brunch and the menu was quite underwhelming and small. Food was on the bland side. However, the lunch menu definitely looks more attractive. Update: Went for dinner. The menu was much better. The food was great. One of the items we wanted was no longer on the menu but they made it anyways. Service was quick and everyone was very welcoming.

I love this place in the centre of Edinburgh. Good location, friendly staff and a great selection of beers. You will have a good time at One Canonmills!

Such a great evening! Spent the whole evening on a Thursday here. The staff were so accomodating, the food was great, and such a great selection of drinks. Really happy this was the venue of choice that evening!

Our Sunday brunch was tasty. We ordered filled rolls because the chicken and waffles we wanted weren't available. We weren't brought cutlery or salt and pepper...and I think our rolls were supposed to have pulled pork and cheese included but that wasn't included when they arrived. We were in a hurry so we didn't complain. The Rolls were tasty though with bacon, haggis, sausage and egg. it would've been good to have been offered ketchup or mustard etc...Service was friendly and the place has a nice atmosphere.

This place also have good sprits Anand also cocktails menu on the sheet. Very small place, customer service is very good and very friendly. I really recommend this pub to anyone.

Had the brunch menu, food was unreal!! Waffels and bacon and the Brioche breakfast roll went down nicely with cider and a pint 👌 Cant recomend this place enough. Very freindly and quick service 🤩

Great spot, friendly service, welcoming atmosphere, fantastic drinks selection and delicious food! My two favourites: zapiekanka brunch dish (like a Polish inspired supercharged alternative to a boring Benedict), and I swear I've not had a better bao bun in Edinburgh than One Cannonmills Argentinian steak bao!

Really tasty, quality food, the burgers and mac & cheese lovely and reasonably priced too.

Enjoyed a portion of Salty Fries and fish fingers in a bao bun, with a citrus mayo sauce. Both were very enjoyable, however the sandwich had a little too much sauce. The service was quick and friendly, and the prices very reasonable. The menu was online only, which was quick and efficient, but be sure to charge your phone.

Our local for a years and still our favourite spot in Canonmills/Stockbridge area. Staff are all really good, relaxed atmosphere nd nice range of beers on offer. Great menu too!

Friendly staff and food was reasonable. Had the chicken burger, which was tasty, however and bit lacking on the sauce. Food was also a bit slow, which created a bit of stress with the kids.

Great little bar with a good selection of ales. Lived the juggler.

Very nice place, we stopped for a quick brunch and enjoyed a delicious waffle. Really good cappuccino as well. The staff was also very friendly and kind.

definitely best food in the area, and most likely the best beef burger I every had in my life. I've only been twice and everything I ate was divine, while prices still very reasonable. I don't drink alcohol so can't comment on that.

11 out of 10 stars... The food was sensational!! I'd been drooling at the delicious looking photos on Instagram for some time - we ordered on Saturday morning for evening collection (still in cv-19 lockdown). Nothing about our meal disappointed. The food was being prepared as we rocked up for our slot and was handed to us in environmentally friendly cardboard boxes. We enjoyed it so much we've already booked a slot for this coming weekend to celebrate my daughter's quarantine birthday! Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday Martin!

A great place to hang out in a very nice part of town. Really good food (try the bao buns), wide selection of craft beers and interesting cocktails (blood orange mimosa was great). Dog friendly and good value for money.

We went there for lunch with some co-workers. We were warmly welcomed, service was friendly, like in a pub. They do a have a nice selection of beers, but the food menu is a bit too strict in a sens that they do have a good selection of special food (spicy chicken burger for example), but apart of the XL burger there isn't any pub-style meal in my sens. Otherwise it is kind of a normal / as expected pub.

Excellent food, the fish bao bun especially. Service was exceptional as well.

The staff there did a good job of keeping our glasses full. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I thought great value for money, I think my brunch meal (with PERFECTLY done poached eggs) was under £7. Nice place to spend some time.

Went in for drinks and some food but left after one drink. There was no options for people with allergies and the staff were very rude about it. Very disappointing considering most other places around are happy to accommodate. If your an allergy sufferer avoid this place. Reply: I am gluten free

After eyeballing this place for a month, we stopped by this evening and were pleased with the good food and terrific service.

First visit since new ownership. Ordered the bacon cheeseburger. Flavour was good and the burger itself was delicious but it was dripping in fat/oil. Literally. Fries were ok but nothing special. On a more positive note, the staff were attentive but not intrusive and really friendly. Would return for drinks but not for food.

We hadn't experienced bao buns before but found these to be quite rubbery and left most of ours. The 'hash browns with scrambled egg' was a joke. After lifting up the single hash brown which looked like a bulk buy caterers version (used to get these in the cafeteria at work) I found what looked like a teaspoon of scrambled egg. The chips weren't that great either so I wondered why all the rave reviews.

Gorgeous fish and chips: we had very good miso greens instead of the chips and really good beer. The desserts were tasty too. Staff is very friendly!

Popped in for an early lunch on a punt and we loved it! Welcoming and chatty staff, great craft beers and the food was fab. We had a fish finger bao bun with salted chips, the mushrooms on sourdough and the haggis pierogi, all beautifully cooked and flavoursome. A really relaxed environment, loved it!
