Stopped in at the Braewick Cafe on my way to Eshaness Cliffs on a beautiful sunny day. The cafe was under COVID-19 restrictions but felt very safe and wasn't crowded. Plenty of hand sanitiser available, and separate entrance and exit doors. For lunch I had the battered haddock and chips with salad and coleslaw. It was perfect - piping hot local fish, freshly cooked - and there was plenty of it, it was a feast! I also had a delicious latte. The staff were lovely and friendly. The view of the cliffs and sea from the front windows is amazing, particularly on a sunny day. Definitely worth a visit!

Simple, cozy cafe with clean restrooms. Absolutely delicious, fresh scones with cream, shortbread and hot tea were a very welcome snack after spending time touring outdoors in the wind! Pleasant service staff. Glass display cases with local handmade wool items (interesting selection of knitting needles) if you are in the market for souvenirs. Views from the rear of the building were nice to photograph and the heather growing back there was so pretty.

There is a great selection if pictures etc which were great. A must for the area.

This Cafe and caravan park is in a breathtaking location convenient for walking trips and visiting the Eshaness cliffs and lighthouse. If you’re camping the cafe is the perfect place to have breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea. The food is freshly prepared from local produce and everything I tried was delicious. The cream of cauliflower soup, scones and special treat meringue nest filled with fresh berries, topped with white chocolate sauce and pouring cream. If it’s raining the leather sofas are a snug place to while away a couple of hours. The coffee is from The Bean Shop in Perth and is very good.

Stopped here for lunch on our tour of the North West of Shetland. The views were stunning, both from the restaurant itself with its many windows, and from the outside seating (limited) where we sat. Menu choice I felt was somewhat limited, although the food we had was very enjoyable (with the exception of the chips which were hard and overcooked - hopefully just a one off).

Internally - Bright spacious and clean with great views. Being "locals" we sat near the back to give the tourist the best seats in the house and to stay away from the group of mums with their noisy sub-3 year olds.Externally - Plenty of parking. Spaces for camper vans, a handful of wigwams and room for tents.Service - The place was busy so service wasn't instantaneous, but the environment is relaxing and we were in no hurry, so it wasn't a problem. We were served by a brunette with a serious face who was really good at the job. I bet she has a lovely smile too.Food - I had the salmon salad, which was small but perfectly formed, with a generous portion of salmon. I am not sure red onion has any place in a salad though, but that's probably because I can't eat the stuff. The boiled egg had a green layer around the yoke, suggesting that they are cooked the day before and kept in the fridge ready for serving. She had the cheese sandwich with cream cheese and salad, including red onion, but they swapped that out for tomato. She commented that the cheese wasn't strong enough, but she prefers the really hardcore stuff. Stick to what you are serving and keep the majority happy. There were sachets of condiments and a salt and pepper pot on the table.Drinks - The coffee machine was awaiting a part, which seems to be a theme here. The last time I was here the situation was the same. She had a filter coffee and said that it was OK. Praise indeed as she likes it strong enough to strip paint. Perhaps she is mellowing! I had the pot of tea for one, which came with a spare teabag. I think that is unnecessary . Just offer one free refill instead. The tea was fine for teabag tea. There was plenty of milk and sugar on offer, but no sweeteners.Facilities - Toilets were clean apparently. I didn't feel the need to sample them. There are some interesting items to buy, nicely presented in a large glass case, mostly knitted and to appeal to tourists.Checkout - Without a problem and with a smile and a joke.Recommended.

We had travelled out to Eshaness for the view, unfortunately it was a horrible day, we only stayed about 2 mins. On the way back we were desperate for a coffee to warm us up, yes it was that kind of lovely Scottish day (and I'm Scottish, so know what I'm talking about!). On the way to the cliffs we had noticed this cafe, so decided to stop on the way back, it's not very prepossessing, it looks like a concrete box, small and not very nice, but there were quite a few cars in the car park, so we went in. What a surprise, the inside is lovely (relatively speaking), It's much bigger than it looks and has a wall of windows over looking the nearby loch which is lovely. The floor and tables are blond wood and it's all very modern looking, as well as warm and fairly comfortable. It was very busy, but when we explained to the waitress that we were under a time restriction (we had to get back to Lerwick to pick up luggage and go for the ferry) she served us very quickly. One of us had a pork sandwich which he said was delicious, the rest of us had scones and tea, which were both delicious, the scones were home baked and very fresh. There are also some cabinets with local knit wear, hats, gloves etc. I liked a knitted snood so much I bought it.I would thoroughly recommend the cafe, overlook the outside and you will be pleasantly surprised.

I will be as fair as I can as I did read many reviews on camping websites before my visit and also I cannot find a dedicated page on trip advisor for the campsite only,As I was traveling a long way I wanted some confirmation that my Wigwam was reserved so I emailed them 3 times on two different email addresses with no reply and on the 3rd phone call I got to speak to someone who asked if I had received my "pack"in the post (which I had not hence the contact)I was then told that they had my reservation,On arrival I booked in and paid the balance I had to ask them where the facilities where,The wigwam was how I expected it to be but after just coming from another which although was slightly more expensive it did come with a fully made double bed,TV toaster, microwave,Now I think it would be a welcome addition to include a TV in these wigwam's as when the weather is not to kind outside there is really not very much to do unless you bring your own entertainment there is no WIFI on site and a very poor phone signal,Unfortunately I found the gents toilets quite soiled so from then on I decided to use the toilets in the shower rooms,The showers in there really would benefit from a shower curtain as the toilets where on my visits were always covered in water,When handing my key in after a 2 night stay I was only asked if I had "settled up"I was not asked How was my stay Did I enjoy my stayWas every thing ok with my stay,I agree with other reviews on camping websites which say that the camping site is just a side line which they are not very interested in which is a shameI cannot comment on the cafe or the food but it did look very pleasant

On Holiday for a few weeks with our daughter and husband who live in Lerwick, she recommended my wife and I visited the cafe for lunch on our car ride out to this remote part of the Shetlands, we both chose the fish and chips, a nicely presented ample meal, and good coffee, the cafe has wonderful sea views and a caravan & campsite attached. The large and airy place was less than half full but the noise of peoples voices echoed uncomfortably around the room, we would not want to be there if it was full, a few simple steps, like some soft furnishings, to absorb some of the sound echoing around would make it a much more pleasant place to sit and enjoy food and drink at this wonderful location. 31st July 2015.

I wouldn't describe this as a restaurant as it's titled here. It's the Braewick cafe and caravan park and in both of these aspects it is first class. The camp site itself is not particularly beautiful being a tarmac car park, but the facilities are excellent. Water and plug-ins available for vans, wooden wigwams which look very cosy and room for some tents. There's a kid's playground. Toilets, showers, washing up etc are very clean and well equipped. There's a kettle and microwave available for lazy campers. Where this wins most of all, though, is the view which is simply stunning. Eshaness is a particularly beautiful part of Shetland and waking up to a view of the Drongs is an experience I won't forget. For the truly lazy camper however the main benefit is the cafe which is open 9 to 5 every day serving excellent breakfasts, lunches and snacks. Very friendly service and some local crafts for sale too.I can't wait to go back. We spent 10 days on Shetland and had a thoroughly good time kayaking and walking but next time I think I could spend 10 days on Eshaness and I know where I would stay.

Drive further on for the fork right towards Eshaness (fabulous coastal scenery and a Lighthouse).

We had friends on holiday, so we went to the Braewick cafe for Sunday lunch. We were all agreed it was the best roast beef with all the trimmings, we have had in a long long time. Absolutely delicious. The service was excellent, very friendly and polite staff. Well done Braewick.

We stopped off here for lunch between walks at Eshaness and Hillswick Ness. The view was magnificent; probably the best view from a restaurant anywhere in the world! The food was very good, and the fish was so fresh. The crab salad is definitely recommended. Will definitely return on a future visit to the Shetlands.

We had such a nice meal here at the start of our holiday that we went back again and it was just as good the second time. Everything is home made and the meats are all home-grown from the next-door croft. Sadly no crab on the days we were there, but delicious soups, nice fresh salads with the sandwiches and burgers, and really tasty fresh fish in the fish and chips. Excellent crispy chips too. Generous portions, and yummy cakes to finish off. On top of that the staff are really lovely and the view is to die for. This area has spectacular scenery, loads of great walks and hidden gems to explore so maybe we can squeeze in one last visit before we go ........Tip: busy at weekends so try to visit for early or late lunch to avoid disappointment.

I visited Shetland recently and discovered that there are very few cafes at which you can have a nice cake & coffee. However, Braewick cafe is one of them. It is perfectly situated for a day out to Esha Ness. A couple of things to bear in mind. They are not open every day. I suggest you phone beforehand or ask at the tourist office. Secondly, they are sometimes a lunch stop-off for tours. Check with them beforehand otherwise you could be disappointed and find that there is no room. We went twice and both times were served straight away with lovely cake & coffee. Don't let the fact that they are a caravan park put you off. There was hardly any evidence of camping when we went (June) and the view alone, from the cafe, is worth the visit.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights during our recent visit to Shetland. The cafe serves a wide range of food, but we just had coffee and cake each time we went in which was excellent. The campsite has a number of hard standings for Motorhomes and caravans, there's a tent area and 4, if I remember correctly, wooden Wigwams. The setting is stunning with views south over Brae Wick. Showers, laundry facilities and free WiFi, made this an excellent spot to visit the NW of Mainland. Recommended.

We had coffee and homemade cakes here against a fabulous backdrop of sea, cliffs and sky. It was worth the trip just for the view but to find somewhere to eat in this remote place, with great birdlife too, was a bonus.

The cafe has amazing views over the Drongs and Braewick bay. On a nice day the views are simply stunning!! I had the cream of cauliflower soup which was really tasty and very reasonably priced! The bowl of ice cream was too good to resist too!The toilets are open 24/7 which are very handy too!

Great views, even on a dull day across the bay to Da Drongs ! We stopped for lunch. Very friendly staff, locals were also in the cafe which manages to be a coffee shop, cafe and restaurant. A good atmosphere and our food was very nice. Much of the food on offer is local, some including the beef from their own farm.

This review is of the Cafe but also the Campsite, where we stayed for a week this August. With the most stunning views of the Drongs, in this remote, beautiful, picturesque location, what more could you ask for?! We were even lucky with 6 and a half days of sunshine out of 7. The campsite is quite basic compared to some, basically a large carpark with hook ups and grass and Wigwams surrounding it, but views to die for! It also has all the facilities you could ask for,hot showers, clean toilets, washing up area, washing machine and tumble dryer. We only ate in the cafe one night when Christine was hosting a "seafood night!" (cafe normally only open during the day). Food was fantastic!! Chocolate and baileys cheesecake to die for!!! Additionally I might add that Christine who runs / owns the show is fantastic, very accommodating and helpful, felt very welcomed. As we did by all Shetlanders we met, and there were quite a few on site - lots of families were up from Lerwick for the weekend. Overall a very wonderful experience, many happy family memories have been made here!

Found this place by accident, but my goodness what amazing food! A lot of the food comes from the local area, including the beef. The beef was so delicious, I was upset when I finished my lunch! The staff were friendly, and the cafe's location is fabulous! Beautiful view looking out to sea. Can't wait to have an excuse to return. Worth a visit!

Looked most unpromising from the outside, but the location meant that beggars couldn't be choosers so in we went. We were pleasantly surprised. Food obviously locally based and prepared to order. We had late lunch snacks, but there was no problem with the time and service very good. Try the burger: definately home made. Ploughmans was interesting, but a bit meat heavy and the roll not the freshest, but chutney good. I think the view might be outstanding, but obscured by mist when we visited, but this just made the atmosphere more welcoming in such a remote spot.

We got here in time for breakfast at 10.30 on a Saturday before going on around Eshaness and area - and really enjoyed; the very clean facilities, the great views along the cliffs and the friendly service. We had a cooked breakfast, with the Shetland 'Saucermeat' slice (like Lorne sausage but a bit denser). All their produce is their own, or sourced locally - and it was all fresh and tasty - lovely rich golden egg yolks. Breakfast came with toast and was good value at around £5. The general snack menu is simple and basic, but if it all tastes as good as breakfast - worth a visit.

I stopped here as part of my day trip to Eshaness for lunch and because I'd seen it on the webcam so many times. The views are stunning and I love the map table outside. The toilets are lovely and clean too, as is the cafe. However the food is very expensive. I asked for a plain cheese sandwich and as it came with salad (most of which I can't eat) I asked if I could have chips INSTEAD which the lady informed me I could. The bread was rather dry and there wasn't a great deal of cheese in the middle. When I went to pay I discovered I was charged over £4 for a cheese sandwich (worth about 50p) AND too for the chips that I was told would be INSTEAD of the salad...at no point was I told they would be charged for as well as the sandwich. I have never been charged for anything in a cafe that I've had *instead* of something else. The chips were rather greasy too. All in all I felt very ripped off and not sure I would go back although there isn't really much choice in that area. Worth stopping for the loos and views though!

Although the mileage was very, very distant, my family and I went to stop for a coffee break after a 2 hour drive from Lerwick to Eshaness. Our stomachs were grumbling so much that even the sights of food made us starve. My sister and I had chocolate fudge cake and it was really nice, my parents had walnut cake and they thought it was delicious; especially with a heartwarming coffee and tea. It did make our day as we were cold and the weather was bad but a matter of fact, I'd like to come back there for lunch instead.
