Food was amazing . Lovely staff very accommodating what a lovely time we had the manger was lovely . Very clean they are very happy to go above and beyond for you . Toilets are very clean .

Really great food. Full of flavour, well presented and just the right balance of flavours. The young team of amazing staff did a fabulous job looking after over 30 people. They remained calm, professional and respectful and polite at all times . The young trainees were well supported both in the kitchen and on the restaurant floor to ensure they knew what and when. A fabulous experience all round.

Lovely place to relax and have a drink and a bite to eat. The staff are really welcoming - Lucy in particular!! My kids love it too and they always get a warm welcome by the staff. Chicken club is top level!! Highly recommended!

Visited BR6 on the 16th January and although I have been there before on two occasions I was very disappointed overall. Arrived at 13.08 we ordered waited thirty minutes asked if we could have our drinks apologies given for delay served coffees ten minutes later ,at 13.45 sandwiches were served,white bread ordered brown bread served! Should have raised this with waiter however after waiting over 45 minutes for two sandwiches and two coffees frankly could not be bothered .I complained when paying the bill the waitress said sorry .customer service very poor. Although food was very nice Evan if the wrong bread served. SB of Chelsfield

Wow! Where to start... being a big group, I was apprehensive of the quality of the food and the service but I was blown away! The service was fantastic, the servers were very attentive, especially Dominic. The food was top quality and utterly delicious, in particular the beef Christmas meal!!!!!!! I cannot wait to return!

What an amazing place to have lunch or a coffee and cake. This is a place where students learn the restaurant trade. It is contemporary in design and always looks spotless. The menu has a good selection for everyone. The food is presented really nicely and with generous portions. My personal favourites are the Salt and pepper Squid- yum ! And the BR6 club sandwich which is just delicious. The staff are awesome, kind and welcoming. We usually end up going twice a week as It is very reasonably priced. We have been for 2 of their more formal evening events in their restaurant area, the most recent was a wine tasting in association with Laithwaites, the accompanying food produced by the students. The 3 hour cooked pork belly with calvados jus was fabulous. 100% recommended.

Had a great evening sampling a 6 course taster menu with wines provided by Laithwaites. Food, wine and service was all excellent and probably the best value evening out we have had for a long while. Hopefully BR6 will do similar events again in the future, thanks to Peter and Marein from Laithwaites for organising and the college students and staff for the service, really enjoyable evening.

We have just visited BR6 for the first time. We had the full English breakfast. Service was excellent, they exchanged an item on my breakfast for another with no problems. The food was hot, tasty and good quality and at a competitive price. We will be back!

We attended an event night at BR6 this evening. We arrived to a welcoming smile from the staff who were both efficient and attentive throughout our evening. The food was excellent and attention to detail was second to none. Also don't forget to try their cocktails and mocktails, a taste of paradise. We visit BR6 for coffee or lunch and now have had a evening experience, just can't wait to go back. A massive thank you to you all at BR6 and good luck to all the staff in their future careers. I was so impressed with the menu and food here today in the restaurant. I actually had three courses as the food was so delicious, which is unheard of for me. The beetroot and goats cheese tart, the lentil meatballs and sticky toffee pudding all divine. Better than my recent meal in Claridges and Ben our waiter was excellent. Great job I highly recommend.

We visited BR6 for lunch and had the choice of a set menu or a la carte which included some lighter options. The food was lovely and service was very professional. The atmosphere is the restaurant was perfect for friends meeting for lunch. Would go again and would recommend to others.

I booked for Thursday 7pm and turned up only to find the restaurant was closed "due to circumstances outside our control". After checking their website I found they had decided to close the restaurant for the rest of the week on Tuesday (i.e. 2 days before). Not only had I not been contacted to be informed the restaurant was closed, I had even received a reminder text on Wednesday (the day after they had decided to close) telling me they were expecting me at 7pm. Very very poor.

Been waiting a while to experience br6 and it fulfilled its promise! It was a festive menu with great choice of starters, mains and dessert. My wife had the turkey and I went for the loin of venison, both perfectly cooked.for dessert we had the English cheese platter, very good portions, just a little advice might be to take cheese from chiller a while before serving! Will be back asap!

This place is just lovely! The staff and students are so friendly and welcoming. We had two small children’s and they were so helpful. The food was incredible could of fault a single thing! Will be going back!

I have visited BR6 several times with a group of friends and it just gets better and better. The standard is high and I prefer it for food to a certain smart (was Michelin starred) restaurant at Locks Bottom. The venison I chose was cooked to perfection.

Delicous food, great help with various allergies our group had. Marcel's effiiciency and sense of humour added to a good time

Dined here last week with friends. Very nice food. It was really quiet the night we went so not a lot of atmosphere. They seemed to be having problems with the alarm system and it kept going off (not great) Will return but for the lunch menu next time.

I went there with my club. It was a set menu which I wasn't to keen on but I had the Hog and poached egg for started unfortunately the Hog was tough, for mains I had the roast turkey which was really tasty, it came with pork which I don't like, pig in blanket, the meat came up first so we had to wait for our vegetables which when they came were lukewarm and rock hard. The black forest gateau which was very nice. No one seemed to know what they were doing. It's not a place I would go back to.

What a find! Student run restaurant in the heart of Orpington.. They did an excellent job of catering for a vegan despite not having a vegan option on the menu that evening 😁

Attended a business event with a guest, where the Restaurant had been booked out specifically for the evening and we had all chosen our menu in advance from a varied set menu.The food was wonderful, the event itself excellent and the front of house very helpful. Not everything ran smoothly in the service, however, with it being a Student Led restaurant, this was not expected and things were corrected swiftly when required.Our 3 course dinner with wine was £45 per head, but that included some money towards the Charity hosting the event, so is not indicitive of their typical prices, but even at that price it represents great value.Marking it fairly, I'm giving 4 out of 5 stars. If you allow for the fact that it's a Student led restaurant, it is of course 5 stars. Great work all involved, keep it up.

My partner and I had lunch here yesterday and was very impressedThe restaurant is very light and welcoming.The Trainer /Front of house was very efficient and very supportive to his students.The food was very good.I had the fish Cake starter followed by the stuffed Chicken supreme and my partner had the Smoked Duck with Steak as his Main course.We had a bottle of the Cote du Rhone.The Student was shown how to present it to us and how to open the bottle and what to do with regards the tasting of the Wine.This I thought was most impressive and will stand him in great stead as he goes on in his career.The only small criticism I might have was the long wait between having our starter and receiving our Main course but we took in account the Bakehouse which was very busy and the food was coming from the same kitchen.We will definitely return and lovely to support these up and coming students

My wife, son and I chose this restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday. This restaurant is a student-led commercially-run restaurant designed to deepen the experience of the 16+ year old students at the Orpington Career College focused on the Hospitality and Food industries. Not everything ran completely smoothly, nor did we expect it to. The advertised sauce béarnaise did not turn up with the steak, because the béarnaise had broken while it was being made - that is the risk you run when students are running the kitchen (shown on the CCTV screen behind us) and when dishes are cooked from scratch. The warm chocolate brownie was tepid at most. However my wife reports it was quite delicious, and my own rump of lamb with red cabbage, potatoes and a parsnip cream was excellent. Indeed the red cabbage was the best I have ever eaten. My glass of Malbec accompanied the lamb brilliantly. This is not a restaurant for those in a hurry; we expected to spent two hours on lunch, and did. But it was very good value at less than £50 for a two-course meal for three with wine, cooked and served by students who were honing their skills.

Limited menu but great food and very personnel service. Have to book early as wine not served after nine o'clock , we got an extra bottle when ordering, enjoyed our meal and moved onto the Pato Lounge for a night cap.

What an innovative concept for a restaurant - I was unsure what to expect in terms of both food and service, but my goodness, both were fantastic. The menu was original and exciting, with the actual dishes remaining entirely faithful to their description. Our party of four had different meals and not one of our three courses was anything other than visually appealing, wonderfully tasting and excellent value. The service easily matched the fare and was helpful, friendly, efficient and professional. I will certainly return so that other friends and family can also enjoy the experience.

We had been intending to try this out for a long time, more for curiosity than with any great expectations, but never got around to it until one very rainy august day when we needed a distraction from the gloom so booked a table for lunch.

Went there with a friend for breakfast. Such lovely students serving the most delicious food. Nothing is too much trouble and we will be back soon !!

Went to lunch today with two friends. This was the latest of many visits to BR6 restaurant. We have never been disappointed. The food is first rate as is the friendly service. It is so good to see Marcel and his team provide high standards of training to the up and coming students to set them on the road for their future careers. I'm sure that the same happens in the behind the scenes areas that we the customer do not see. Would not hesitate to recommend BR6 to anyone who wants a great dining experience in a relaxed, friendly and smart restaurant. Nearly forgot to add, It's also very good value for money

Had lunch here. The waiter was excellent on arrival. Restaurant near enough empty. Menu was limited in my opinion. Ordered toasted sandwiches and waited ages. When they turned up they were barley toasted and they were luke warm. Cheese had not melted inside. Not done in a proper sandwich press. Just toasted bread with filling just put inside. Very disappointing. Shame because the restaurant was very clean and had heard good things about the place. Will not be returning Im afraid. Hence average rating.

Have been to this restaurant both for lunch and dinner. Have always had good food feel it is an excellent way for students to meet and understand the running of a restaurant . Good to be able to see students working in the kitchen. Keep up the good work.

We had the pleasure of having dinner here with friends and walked out saying we must return! Great selection of wines, extensive menu with something for everyone, in truth, choosing what to eat was really the hardest bit!

I love this place, I like the relaxed friendly atmosphere week in, week out.

This little gem serves food prepared or cooked by the students from the college. Beautifully prepared. Quite busy at lunchtime, always a good sign that others like it too.

This is the second event I have organised here and it was if anything better than the first. Everyone enjoyed the food and the service was everything one could have hoped for. I would recommend the restaurant to anyone looking to organise a private event.

My wife, my 7 month old daughter and I visited BR6 on Saturday 30.3.19 f. As we approached the restaurant we were quickly joined by the manager of the restaurant who leapt to our aid as we went to carry our pram up the stairs. This was such a welcome surprise that we knew then it was going to be a memorable night. We certainly were not disappointed. There were 3 waiting staff in the restaurant, Marcel a very pleasant German man who reminded me of a personable tv chef, and two servers, Dave and Dennis, who informed us they were trainees at the college located at the adjoining premises. All the staff were great and they made all of us very welcome and didn’t once seem bothered by the presence of a baby (so many places seem to cringe when a pram and baby are wheeled into a restaurant particularly in the adult hours - 6.30pm+). We had superb starters. I had Devon Crab and my wife had curried cauliflower soup. I then had a very tasty rump of lamb and my wife had a beautifully presented breast of chicken with couscous. Each dish was absolutely delicious. The restaurant itself was spotless and had a very modern and relaxing environment. This really is a gem in the heart of Orpington and I really can’t praise it enough. Dave and Dennis really made our evening special with their fabulous service and the chat we had with Marcel was refreshing. He was such a decent person. London & South East College’s run BR6 and they should be very proud of it. Thank you for a wonderful meal and a very memorable evening. We will be back.

It was our first visit to BR6 and I had booked online. We arrived at the appointed time and were greeted cheerfully by a member of staff who was clearly expecting us and our table was ready.

We called into the bake house cafe after an early morning hospital appointment for a bacon sandwich and found the staff very helpful,we could have even been provided with a well toasted tea cake .nothing was too much trouble.

Greeted with Smile. We were offered a range of ‘Bottomless’ Pots of Tea on arrival ☕️. A range of freshly cut sandwiches . Delicious freshly baked Scones with clotted cream & jam. Generous sized slices of cake together with tasty Brownies, All beautifully presented. Definitely worth £9.99 per head.

Want a proper restaurant with proper restaurant food? Enjoy Masterchef? Then BR6 might be your answer locally. Not flashy, but enough charm, taste and texture on your plate for a really good eat out. We loved the chicken breast and risotto combination, and the goats cheese gnocchi and three kinds of beetroot especially. Appreciated by a three generation family party, we’ll definitely be visiting this off-the-high-street and unexpected gem of a place again. Oh, and great friendly service too.

We were impressed with both the attentive service and quality of the food. The students were clearly very engaged and the restaurant is producing meals that look good and taste great. A refreshing change to a normal commercial restaurant - and good value too.

My friends and I had a pre Christmas meal at BR6. Fabulous food and service was first class. The students are very friendly and extremely helpful. Great time.

Great looking place, good area for each table, very clean and modern. Very friendly place and very good service. Food was terrific and more then enough. Salmon & prawn starter was a meal in it's self, Christmas dinner (Turkey) was more then enough with lovely roast potatoes and veg. No room for pudding but did manage to eat lovely mince pie (gratis) with my latte.

This was the second year we have visited this restaurant for Christmas lunch and it gets better.

An enjoyable traditional three course Christmas meal with some lovely interpretation and alternatives. Our complements to the chefs and thanks to Elizabeth, Harrison & Ahmed for their calm, pleasant and efficient service.

A group of 40 of us had our Christmas meal at BR6. It is a training college so some leeway must be given. However excellent the food was – and it was very good, the service was haphazard. Small amounts of vegetables were placed on the table an age before our plates with the meat appeared. Enough for one potato each! More veg did appear much later. The food was cooked extremely well and was nicely presented. At the end of the meal there was supposed to be a mince pie each with coffee. At least 4 of us didn’t even see a mince pie! When we queried this we were given three biscuits (there were 4 of us) and told the correct number of pies was given out and there were none left. (There is a Sainsbury across the road – perhaps someone could have used their initiative and got some from there?)

I visited this restaurant last night for my 60th birthday. We were a party of four .

There are a group of us who meet here about every three months. It is run by the local Catering College and I must say the food is of a very high standard. We had the five course meal (not compulsory!) and the lamb was outstanding. So tender and pink, just as it should be. All the other courses were excellent too and the Malbec most enjoyable. Would certainly recommend this establishment. The students will go far!

Very good food and great customer service and you don't have to follow a regular menu. You can have main courses or start with your dessert first it's up to you

I was taken to BR6 by 2 friends that had visited earlier in the week and had a good experience. Unfortunately ours was not so good. We just had sandwiches & drinks in the cafe side. Unfortunately the person serving us asked my friend about 5 times what she wanted & still had to come back to us & ask again. When our food finally came the server almost dropped the soup over my friend and they forgot my sandwich! After apologising & saying they would get it, they forgot again!! If this was a pro restaurant I would have given it less stars however, I feel the fault lies with the teachers, not the students. They seemed to have very little guidance or instruction. Such a shame as it made the students look bad but I do not think it was their fault. We were given a discount on our bill, but I would prefer they help the students do a better job!

Unexpected, what a fabulous venue with attentive service and food that was authentic, prepared with care and plated with precision. The staff – Marcel and Elizabeth keep doing what you do so well. The food was exquisite -BR6 is a gem

This restaurant in central Orpington is a great example of innovative thinking. The cooking, service and preparation is done by the catering students at Orpimgton College, part of London South East College. They are under supervision by professional tutors. The results are brilliant, the menu and cooking is excellent, the students waiting on you are very pleased to serve you and ready to chat about their work and training.

I went to a friend's 50th birthday last weekend. BR6 students did the catering (with a "World" theme). The food was sublimely amazing. We spent the next day talking about which of the foods were our favourites... we all thought we knew what we'd enjoyed most until someone else mentioned their favourite and we were all conflicted again about what our favourites were. Bravo to the students. I've had the privilege of eating at some amazing restaurants (including the Fat Duck) and I can't heap enough praise on the food at the party. Thanks.

This venue had been recommended to us and I’m glad we gave it a go. It’s a great idea to support the students on their catering course. The staff were keen to please, friendly and attentive. The home made bread was delicious. Well done guys!

Came to BR6 for family celebration and had absolutely excellent meal. All quality ingredients and beautifully cooked. Lamb main dish was to die for. Service impeccable and had a brilliant evening.

I had lunch here a month ago and returned to try the evening meal. I really wanted to do the 5 courses, but unfortunately I was so full up only managed 3 course. It was all well presented and the staff are very friendly. The waiting staff are students, so they have an experienced waiter/teacher to guide them, but hey we all have to learn don't we. I like the atmosphere and the decor and will definitely return. I did the wine flight which meant I had a difference wine with each of my courses. it was great. I love the fact that they make and bake all the bread that they serve.

My colleagues and I regularly have lunch in the BR6 restaurant and take full advantage of the great buffet - the food is just delicious, lots of variety and choices to pick from and an opportunity to return to the menu and try other dishes if you have room.

Three of us had dinner here on Saturday evening. We each had the 5 course tasting menu and two of us had the wine flight. The food was top quality and very well presented.

I'm aware of the mainly positive reviews for this restaurant, but I can only comment on my lunch experience.

Visited the restaurant with husband last Friday. Booked last minute and got a table without problem. I went for the buffet option and husband had the salmon fishcakes. Both very good and makes a change to please my rather fussy other half. It is excellent value and the service is always good with friendly staff. Thanks again BR6.

We went as a family of four on Saturday. While it is set in Orpington College, the decor and ambience of the restaurant is really good. Comfy chairs, nice glasses and cutlery, pleasing decorations on the walls and good acoustics that meant it was not too noisy - a failing of many modern restaurants.

The decor is really wonderful. the lights, the colours. All lovely. I've noticed in so many restaurants these days that the seats are uncomfortable after an hour or so in order to get you to leave. The seats here are so comfortable and it is light and airy. The staff are very good and the selection of drinks very good. We went at lunchtime and they only have a small A'la carte menu, but there is something for everyone to pick. They also do an all you can eat buffet, which we did not choose, although it had some nice choices on it. We all enjoyed the meal and we will be back. We have already booked a table for our Bookclub meeting next month.

Five of us had dinner at BR6 last Saturday to celebrate my wife’s birthday.

Had a lovely afternoon tea at the BR6 Bakehouse earlier this year, but I don’t who is in charge now, today’s afternoon tea was so disappointing. The sandwich fillings seemed fine enough, but the bread was slathered thickly with horrid margarine rather than a thin spread of butter. The scone was huge but not cooked all the way through – as I tried to remove the doughy filling I found a hair attached. I took the cakes home but have just put them in the bin – the lemon drizzle cake which was delicious last time is no longer “drizzled” but now has a thick white tasteless icing and I could not detect any flavour of lemon in the cake or in the icing. To be fair, I was offered a replacement scone by the waitress but declined because frankly I couldn’t see that it would be much of an improvement. To the Manager or Chef at BR6 Bakehouse, please review what is going on in the kitchen, because your trainees need to know that this standard of food is not good enough.

We went to this lovely and very different restaurant on Saturday evening. I thought that for a training college and restaurant it was a great evening and the food was unbelievable. We both had a three course tasting menu and was a great success. We both started with a tuna carpaccio and loved it. I followed with the Cod and my partner had the Pork belly, I finished with the cheese board and she had the chocolate moose. It was lovely and the wine pairing with the meal was very tasty. Lovely to watch the staff working in the kitchen and all run by students. Very fun and a great night out. Would recommend it and go again.

We were the first to arrive at 7pm and were made to feel very welcome by The maitre de. He explained to us that on a Saturday night it’s a 3 or 5 tasting menu and the courses can be had in any order or you can, if you want to have 3 starters, 3 mains, 3 puddings etc. We went for the usual starter, main and pudding. There are tv’s on the wall that show you the food being prepared. The food is prepared is cooked by students overseen by a Head Chef. The food didn’t disappoint. Absolutely stunning. Beautifully cooked, and presented. The waiter was very pleasant, (also a student) and was very attentive. The Maitre De told us that the staff are paid to work, but they only get their “shift” if their grades for the week have been good. This restaurant thoroughly deserves a 10/10
