Magical place! So good we came back a few days later to enjoy this amazing breakfast x

Food, service & atmosphere fantastic.A lovely place for coffee & a chat with one of those beautiful cakes always served! Also, a place to shop for cards,gifts & wrapping paper!

Nice little shop with day to day basics pluss a lovely coffee shop serving great tea and coffie and verry nice food, highly recomended.

This is a useful store, cafe and post office.

A quiet breakfast tale of two old friends catching up. After paying £35 for breakfast the team came to take away the plates. Recognising we had been there a while we ordered two further teas. When we had finished the staff came and asked for their table back! There were 4 empty seats in the cafe at the time, no queue and we were not given the opportunity to order more. Poor service and unwelcoming despite the sugar coated smiles. We won’t be returning.

Lovely little coffee shop, well worth a visit.

Kitchen needs to fix up. Not sure if coming here near the end of a day was the reason - but it’s no excuse. Tl;dr - overcooked chicken, overcooked poached eggs, missing items from a dish & felt like overall lack of care to the food. Ordered a winter salad, that came with no sprouts or pecans (as per the menu). After I said something myself, they then told me they had no sprouts and just dashed on a handful of pecans. Tell people ahead of time, not make me flag it and realise after starting my food. Kitchen staff seemed moody about it. Also, the ‘crispy’ chipotle chicken was clearly prepped in the morning and left out all day. The coating was soggy and chicken dry from a quick reheat. Both poached eggs on the veggie breakfast were ridiculously over cooked, to the point where the yolk is chalky. We spent about £30-40 on food, I’d have expected more. — Front of house staff were LOVELY and no complaints there. The coffee was spot on 🤌

Today we decided to travel to Market Harbrough and our favourite cafe as my daughter needed cheering up . It didn't disappoint , amazing food and drinks best we've had in a long time and a break from the norm the cakes looked amazing too .friendly staff on the counter . See you again soon x

Bowden Stores is my one of my absolute favourite spots. The team are hugely welcoming, remember you, and you are always greeted with kindness. The food is fantastic and hugely reliable. How the gluten free pancakes are so fluffy is beyond me! The shop is beautifully curated and always a treat to explore. I rant on about Bowden Stores to so many of my friends, clients and family members and will long continue to do so! Thank you for creating such a beautiful atmosphere - a spot I have visited through rough times, wonderful times, pregnancy, and will soon bring my baby girl to as well! You have to start them early ;) xx

Lovely little coffee shop / cafe. Always busy. Good food and coffee, but not the place to go if you want a quiet chat with someone.

Very difficult to say anymore than has already been said about this lovely place. Super fast service with delicious food. We were there for breakfast and it was amazing. It can get a tad noisy when busy which is clearly not a fault of the establishment. Lovely friendly staff and a great place to celebrate my 60th birthday weekend. Thank you all ❤️

This place is a hidden gem. On The Green in Great Bowden, it offers plenty of outdoor and indoor seating, with a really nice atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and the food is delicious.

Amazing cafe, the food is delicious with a good range on the menu and a excellent breakfast. Booking is important as it can get very busy quickly especially for groups larger than 2 people. There is more tables outside when the weather is nice. The atmosphere is amazing and it is lovely in all conditions. There is an excellent wide range of drinks with delicious coffee and tea. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Food can take a bit longer when the cafe is very busy but it is not an unreasonable wait. The shop has lots of nice items but can be a bit expensive.

Lovely brunch on a Saturday morning

Lovely atmosphere, cute gifts to buy, great coffee and really tasty food - but if you’re coming here to do some work on your phone / laptop and have a coffee, and get away from busier coffee shops they don’t have WiFi available to use (Handy to know) couldn’t fault anything else though!

Staff always come across as friendly and polite, The Coffee and Cakes are exceptional, And there is always a good variety. I also like the different selection of cakes each time I go in. Only thing that I find slightly frustrating is the lack of flexibility with the Menu, I couldn't order poached eggs on brown bread as they didn't have brown bread!

Quaint seating area outside. Had the full English breakfast, which was divine. The service was very good, and they had a selection of dairy alternative milks.

Breakfast haven’t been Bowden stores in a while but it reminded me why I loved the place and food! Amazing little place food fresh, great taste and quick! Love the little shop in there too

Wonderful organic and fresh food, delicious cakes and coffees as well as indoor and out door seating. If you get a sunny day there is nothing better than to sit out the front on the green and pass the time over a latte and slice of blonde

Delicious Coffee. The Bowden Rolls with Egg, Avocado and their ketchup are so good. Also great for picking up bits for the house and their coffee beans so you can attempt to make their coffee at home!!

Beautiful Caffè with amazing service in a peaceful quaint village. Best coffee I have had for some some time beats all coffee chain brands.

Staff and visitors seemed totally unaware of the pandemic - mixing by walking from table to table to chat so we did not stop.

So nice to be back! Have missed coming here during the last few months. Sat outside in the sunshine catching up with my friend. Green tea and a slice of the superfood bar Staff are all so lovely and friendly. The new tables and double metal seat are so sweet and the sun umbrellas are great too.

Wonderful village cafe and store!

Usually I thoroughly enjoy coming here however was I very disappointed with the service today. I completely understand that things are a lot different now due to Covid and lots of safety measures have to be in place but as a heavily pregnant woman I was appalled to be told that I was not allowed to use the toilet. We were paying, sit down customers (not takeaway) on a very hot day and was told ‘go and use the pub toilets’. Extremely disappointing!!

Wouldn't return. Customer service could be much better! Portion sizes for the price wouldn't make me rush back to eat either. Pot of tea served with loose tea leaves was also far too weak even after I left half to brew for longer. Cafe seems really badly balanced, seems like it would be better use of space to move the shop upstairs and have more seating downstairs, that way make more room for those with children, and dogs.

So very glad I made the decision to have my 60th birthday dinner party at Bowden Stores!The food was absolutely top notch & Dominie the owner & front of house that evening made us feel very welcome.They had decorated the room beautifully & the casual approach with sharing platters of food & the fact we could bring our own fizz & music playlist made for a fabulous evening!Thank you Dominie & staff 5 star highly recommended! Nice atmosphere, casual, maybe 4 star food is fair but a nice place to meet friends. More a snack sort of place and just a little more expensive than l'd like but maybe l'm tight. Would l come again? - oh yes. Service good and there's character here so enjoy it while ye may, as l plan to do.

This place is the best. The most chill, modern, high quality cafe i have been to in the UK. The food/cakes are incredible, with awesome GF options. But the coffee.... its perfect. Im a soy kinda guy and they make the most amazing soya coffees. I love coming to visit my boyfriend and this place is one of the main reasons why .*i forgot to take a photo before gobbling up all of my food haha

Set in lovely location off village green in one of Leicestershire’s best locations. No need to book which sometimes means space is tight but works well. Amazing big breakfast or if you want something smaller. Kids menu and licensed.

Lovely food in a lovely village setting

Walked an hour to get to Bowden stores on a Sunday afternoon. Despite some customers still waiting to order the kitchen weren’t happy for us to order food as they said it was too late. There was still an hour until the advertised closing time. Turning customers away as a small company seems extremely arrogant to me. Trying to support local but they don’t need it? Very disappointing and won’t be back. We will go and support someone else who wants the custom.

My two granddaughters wanted lunch out, they are 5 and 3. Knew exactly what they wanted. Friendly staff, good service with a smile. Pancakes, beans on toast and full English with cappuccinos and marshmallows later, we took 2 pieces of cake home, definitely go again when I'm in charge of their lunch. They were very busy, always a good sign and not even midday yet.

The food here is very delicious and there is a large selection of food on the menu. All the food is very fresh and flavoursome. The coffee is also very nice. Service is good and the staff are friendly, the food arrives quickly.

We had a lovely walk around the village then called in for a lovely tea coke and a nice hot cup of tea lovely staff and lovely ambiance

Amazing food, I have never been disappointed. The service is fast and the atmosphere fantastic with a friendly welcoming buzz. We have taken our granddaughter who always enjoys her food too. when the weather is good outdoor seating is a great choice.

Came for lunch, the atmosphere was buzzing. Food was well presented as very tasty and freshly made. Nice little cafe. Only downside was it was very cosy not much seating.

A friend of ours recommended a visit to Bowden Stores so we decided to check it out! We were not disappointed! This place is run really well - staff were friendly and efficient! Really interesting menu with a wide range of breakfast choices. Coffee was excellent. All in all a great experience and would definitely recommend a visit for coffee and food lovers. Also a little shop attached with some lovely products - candles, cushions, etc.

A great spot for brunch, wide ranging menu that caters for veggies and vegans.

I love this place. The food is always really delicious whether I order a breakfast, or a special. The coffee is the best for miles around (wish this wasn't true because I love coffee). The staff are very accommodating and kind (a member of my family is in a wheelchair) and there is a proper, large, working disabled loo for people who can't walk - this is often not the case, even when owners stick a disabled loo sign on the door. The shop has really gorgeous stuff in it which I've used for special presents. I think the seating area upstairs is really cosy and I like the scandi big table downstairs. I've taken friends from all over the place to BS and they have really enjoyed their food and the ambience. I am so thankful it is in Great Bowden and I just hope it stays there.

I took my sister in law for late breakfast on Easter Sunday along with a couple of friends and it was lovely. We sat outside in the sunshine. The service was great and as we had a small table, they were accommodating with moving things so we had room.

Been a few times in the last couple of months and the place is superb. The breakfasts are excellent with a really interesting mix of bacon, sausages, black pudding, mushrooms, fried squash and home made beans. All really well made and presented beautifully in cast iron frying pans. Main difficulty I have when I go is choosing as keep being drawn back to the breakfast! Keep up the great work and I’m sure we’ll be back soon and next time I’m definitely going to try something else!

Brilliant staff - fabulous food to eat in or buy from their deli counter or takeaway menu. A little gem of a store hidden away in Great Bowden. Go the extra mile from Harborough and be amazed !! You will not be disappointed !

We are regular visitors here as we live locally, love the food, the people are so friendly and kind - can’t fault it at all!

After many different attempts to find a genuine flat white around Northamptonshire and Leicestershire, we found the best coffee we’ve had at Bowden Stores just down the road! Great friendly staff, beautiful quality food and a nice atmosphere. Please bring back Oatly Oat Milk, we miss this place so much!

Have visited a couple of times now and been to a party. Good range of hot drinks. Cakes and pastries are from an excellent local bakery. Friendly staff. It is pleasant but not cosy so would not keep me there more than an hour. For me it is a stop off when walking on a circular route from Market Harborough.

Fantastic, friendly. Food beautifully presented. Hot quality coffee served with only a few minutes wait. Then one of the best vegetarian breakfast I have had. Would highly recommend to anyone, especially cyclists. Without a doubt I’ll be back.

Ate here with daughters and grandson for breakfast and just managed to squeeze in amongst a group of rugby players who my daughters and grandson just happened to know. Two of us had the muffin with chorizo, avocado, poached egg and spicy chilli sauce which was absolutely delish. My other daughter had the full English which was served in a cast iron skillet and was massive ... but she still managed to scoff it all despite ‘complaining’ it was too large and I’m told that was also delish. My grandson had the children’s pancakes with bacon, which were gone in about two minutes - note to self ... get him the adults size next time!!!

I was treated to lunch here by my Dad. In future I will reserve a table as we had to sit at the communal dining table because the cafe was SO busy. My dad ordered the full breakfast and I had the crayfish and avocado flat bread. We also had a cappuccino each. The bill was a very reasonable £21. My Dad said that the coffee was the best he's had out in a very long time and I must say I agree with him!

Just a nice place for coffee, snacks and healthy creative food. Best to reserve your table to be sure of a space as very popular. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is cooked to order. What would make it even better is having soem dishes that can be adpated to vegan diet and not charging extra for soya milk.

Bowden stores is just a gorgeous little village gem! Offers a wide range of delicious brunch choices, and has a fantastic atmosphere! Go here most weekends! It can be very busy, so expect a small wait for a table but worth it.

Staff were polite and friendly, not that many seats inside as it’s not that big, also the food was a bit on the pricey side, but other than that, I really enjoyed my hot chocolate and thought the little shop at the side was lovely

Loved my brunch here. The staff are very welcoming, the atmosphere relaxed. I really appreciated the 'help yourself' fresh water. The pancakes that you had as a special that day were delicious - apple crumble and salted caramel!!Being able to browse the gift area afterwards was an added bonus.
