Some of the nicest food we have had for a while, unfortunately ruined by some of the worst service. We left after waiting 40 minutes after our main courses had been taken away, and still nobody had been to take our dessert order or offer us anymore drinks. When we left there were 5-6 members of staff doing many tasks, other than looking after the customers.

Table for 6 booked in advance, on arrival given a circular table at fixed bench seating, this would if meant one guest eating from a lap tray?? Moved to an empty part of the restaurant. Food and drinks ordered and all came in good time. Bottle of carbonated water ordered, arrived with bottle cap already opened, water not as ‘sparkling’ as you would of expected for an unopened bottle?? Tap water also requested to accompany the meal for all diners, however this did not arrive until 3/4 of the way through the meal. Sufficient menu choice in my opinion, however overall quality of the food average. For what Is for all intents and purpose a village pub, the meal pricing is approx 25% more expensive compared to other similar establishments. Overall over priced without any obvious mitigation.

I thought I'd booked a table for 6 people, for Christmas Dinner, 3 courses for £30 per person. Turns out I'd forgotten, and only reserved a table for 4. What a nightmare; but actually it couldn't have been better.. the staff were incredibly patient, understanding, accommodating and their hospitality was impeccable! What could have been a tricky situation was resolved perfectly. The quality of the food was something we'd not tasted before, cheese souffle, turkey wellington, sea bass, braised blade of beef, the list goes on... everything was cooked to perfection, the flavours sublime, we simply couldn't fault anything.Thank you to all the staff for making it a memorable birthday dinner. We rarely dine out, but will definitely be regular customers from now on!

Very disappointed with the food. My soufflé starter was luke warm, my friend and both had the slow cooked beef and both our beef had big lumps of gristle in it.. not what you expect for £18.50. When the waitress asked ‘is everything ok’ …whilst she apologised that was it, didn’t feel like the complaint was taken seriously and there certainly wasn’t anything taken off the bill for our poor customer experience… not even the coffees! On the plus side the sticky toffee pudding was delicious. It’s a really cosy pub, with a lovely buzz about the place. I had high hopes but sadly my friend I were totally under whelmed and £45 each lighter in our pockets. Won’t be returning.

The food was absolutely amazing here, 10/10. We both had beef Wellington which was cooked to perfection. We both ordered a drink when we first got there which came no problem, the mains came in good time and then I ordered a second glass of red wine to go with the main. I waited around 20 minutes for the drink to come, which meant the food was finished by the time it came. To top it off, the red wine was brought over in a gin bowl saying they had no glasses left, yet I could see the waiter taking 4-5 glasses to different tables just after I’d been given mine. My friend finished her glass of wine so I asked the waitress to go clean it and pour my glass of wine into it - they came back within 2 minutes with a fresh different glass??? Rude staff, no asking if everything was ok, no asking if we wanted more drinks and didn’t even take away dirty glasses etc. Asked for the bill, waited 10 minutes for it to come then a further 15 minutes for them to take our card. For the price of the meal we expected much better service, it really is such a shame the service was so bad as the food was brilliant - if you can deal with bad service, I recommend going!

Booked a meal as we came about a month ago and had a nice timeTonight was dreadful - appalling unprofessional and disrespectful behaviour by the kitchen staff. Loud music pumping out of the kitchen accompanied by shouting loud laughter, smoke from burnt food invading the eating area. loud coughing from tne kitchen- when we looked in staff sitting on the floor- obviously not bothered about their customers- that showed in the food - starters lukewarm and served on cold plates, one meal was completely inedible as so much salt. Two other meals were extremely mediocre. One member of our group enjoyed theirs.Horrible atmosphere - felt sorry for the very pleasant waiting staff who must have been embarrassed by it all.Couldn’t get out of there fast enough and won’t be returning. The owners need to tackle the attitude and skills of the kitchen staff.

We chose this pub for our anniversary as it is one of the few places locally open for dinner on a Monday night. It’s been updated too so we were curious. The welcome was very warm, the decor on trend, if a bit Spartan, and it was comfortably busy. However, the food was a bit disappointing. Starters okay - not easy to mess up chicken wings. Our main course of steak Wellington was not good. The main plate of food looked mean even allowing for modern portions- only 1/4 of a parsnip- and meat looked to have been pre cooked before wrapping in pastry so was a bit tough and dry. The gravy rescued it to a point- very tasty. Pudding okay. For a shade under £100 including 2 drinks and wine we felt a little bit underwhelmed. The party on the adjoining table had huge looking burgers so if that’s your thing- clearly worth a go. I do hope the new owners succeed as the area lacks good eating places. Make sure you vary your menu though before too long.

My wife and I wanted a Sunday roast, so we booked a table at the Bottle & Glass, as we had heard good reports about their Sunday lunch. According to their website, they serve Sunday roasts between 12 and 7 pm. We were shocked therefore to be informed that they had sold out of all roasts when we arrived at 4 pm. In fact , the waitress told us that they had sold out of lamb by 1.30 pm. In hindsight we should have left, but we stayed and chose some food from the main menu. The majority of items were more expensive than the Sunday roast, and in the end we spent over £55 for a mediocre meal. My advice would be if you really fancy a Sunday roast, ring before going.

Pre ordered food for 8 for 5pm. for a birthday meal .One of the party decided to order a starter which consisted of 3 chicken wings which took around 30 mins to arrive . At 6.10 we chased the main meals to be told due to the starter it had pushed back the mains !! . After chasing again the main meals arrived at around 7pm and what a disappointment . My roast chicken was dry and like cardboard the roast potatoes would have needed a saw to cut . The roast beef others choose was also dry and all tasteless . I would describe this as the worst Sunday roast I have ever had . I sent my meal back and others in our party left theirs . I refused to pay £15 for a meal at best worth around £5. A manager did not approach us but a message was sent to say there would be no change for any of the meals . Defiantly would not recommend too anyone what should have been a special occasion was a completely wasted evening .

We were a group of two adults and two children aged 3 and 18 months. No table service so I had to enter the pub by the same door as other customers on their way out, then stand by the till to order, again, in the path of other people. Not good for covid protection.I asked if they could do a child's cheese sandwich and they said they could. It arrived as 2 slices of brown bread and a smattering of grated cheese. OK for kidsI ordered a lemonade but when it arrived it was a pint. Being a petite, female, pensioner, I expected to have a half or at least asked what measure I required. Our food order was incorrect (wrong Beef dish), but we decided to just eat what was presented and not make a fuss.. When I went to pay for the meals however, I noticed that I had been charged £6.50 for, as it said on the receipt, a "Cheddar and Red Onion -plain cheese for kid". I questioned this charge at the bar and was told that "The Kid's is without the red onion" and that £6.50 was correct. Shocked that I had paid so much for 2 pieces of sliced bread and some grated cheese I paid up and left the pub.On returning home I thought this can't be right and perhaps the staff had just made a mistake, so I emailed the Bottle and Glass as per their website, giving them the benefit of the doubt, asking if in fact this was the correct charge. I have not had a response.A friend said that she had also emailed them but did not receive a reply either. It seems that The Bottle and Glass are happy to upsize your order, over charge and take your money but not to have the decency to reply to a query.

It was obviously a group gathering, who were extremely loud and who were constantly up and around without face masks on.In normal times this is absolutely fine, but there are current rules in place that have blatantly been ignored by the management.Multiple table

We ate here when we stayed locally and it was recommended. The pub looks quite basic when you go in, no frills, however the food was very nice. We both had steak, which was tasty and tender. Not an extensive menu, so choice was a little limited, but what we had we enjoyed.

Agradable relajado pub.

We had been looking for somewhere to celebrate a birthday with some friends and settled on the dining room at the Bottle & Glass. We wanted an eastern theme to the menu and Gary, the Chef, created a fantastic menu. The food was beautiful, all of our friends have raved about how much they enjoyed it. Janice did a fantastic job with the preparations (and was very patient!) and along with Danny and the other staff looked after us so well on the night. We all had a great evening and look forward to dining there again soon!

After a long cycle ride, it was time for lunch, so came here as was along the way plus it was recommended. The place looks very lovely outside and inside, plenty of seating area, highly recommend to book a table encase it is busy.I had the Tomato, Basil and Chilli soup it was really lovely but didn't get a crusty bread n butter to go with it.I had the Chicken Strip with Stilton sauce with sautéed potatoes and green beans, it was fab, could have ate another plate full.Lastly I had one of my favourite, the Creme Brûlée, slightly disappointed with the sugar topped as was over heated so it didn't taste as sweet as it should do, I could taste the slight burnt of the sugar.I would come back again when I'm back down here.

We recently went to the Bottle and Glass for Sunday lunch, overall it was good. Two slight moans, were that the cauliflower cheese was mushy and the carpet in the newly decorated last year, dining room was filthy, and the tiles in the hallway leading to the restaurant were filthy. It put me off my food a little. We've been to this pub many times before. The food is mostly good. Next time we will eat in the bar.

Staying overnight at a local camp site we were recommended the Bottle & Glass. Although quiet at the time the fire was roaring in the hearth and the staff were welcoming. I thought that the menu was ambitious but both meals delivered just what it said on the tin !! Great flavour and piping hot on hot plates.

Visited the other day and, as the pub welcomes dogs, it was the obvious choice after a Sunday dog walk.A couple of friends had a cracking fry up. Black pudding was provided which is always a positive. Well presented. Good amount on the plate. Very well done.I had a simple sausage sandwich, but even that was great. Well buttered bread and the sausages, great selection.Really welcoming, great scene and a fantastic fireplace too.

Went in for a coffee one afternoon after having been out walking the dog. Very good coffee and biscuit , so decided to go back later for an early evening meal as the dog was also welcome. Meal was very good with a good and varied menu as well as a selection on the chalkboard. Very well laid out for eating as you can eat in the main bar or the old lounge area, both areas you can take the dog with you, which still leaves the restaurant through the back, but this does not of course accept dogs.We will definitely return.

its been a few years since we last went to this pub,it was a cold night and we did not want to go far so went here. the menu is printed out and they have a specials blackboard to add extras.and they do a set menu as well. is good not really pub food more restaurant food if you get my meaning the bill was also a restaurant type bill so not cheap with a drink £25 a head.your welcome when you arrive is good service with a smile.but the mood in there is not good they seem to have 100 watt bulbs so its not romantic at all, and after a long day its not relaxing.in fact the bar just lack's character.

Were not good.Apart from the warm welcome from Mark the barman and the drinks being good there was nothing good to say. When we arrived they thought we had come to eat which we were considering but they lost interest when we said not at the moment. There was a baby in a pram in the corner!!Is this a pub or a nursery? There was no welcome apart from Mark the barman. The landlord? was scruffily dressed in jeans and spoke to no one apart from his wife? and a young girl who just hovered round and his tattooed mate in leathers. It looks as though it may be OK as the village drinking pub but I can't see it being a success for the eating brigade unless they improve their image and start talking to the customers. Standing at the edges and watching what is going on like watching cattle at the meat market won't work.On the way out we thanked Mark the barman for the welcome but again the management failed to respond. Will not be visiting again and we are Scothern residents - You only get one chance to make a first impression…

We have eaten here numerous times and not once have had a negative experience. The food is ALWAYS of an exceptional quality, and the staff are pleasant and helpful. The pub has a very nice ambience. It is particularly useful that they serve food throughout the day as we often visit after dog walks at random times on a Sunday afternoon. It is not the closest restaurant to us (not by a long way), but we always end up coming back here every couple of months or so. We love our sunday lunches out and travel the county looking for cosy, tasty pub/restaurants. This, without doubt, is our favourite

A great cycle ride destination from Lincoln, the pub is above average for a village boozer. I use their sister pub in Lincoln a lot and this change of venue did not disappoint. The recent makeover and new menu was very well done and we enjoyed a couple of great courses for a late lunch on a Saturday...Didn't try the own brew from the new beerstore/microbrewery next door but will next time.

We had a lovely meal here on Saturday evening. One of our party has severe gluten intolerance, but the menu was very clearly marked as to what would be suitable. Even the specials menu was very quickly checked. The food was lovely and seasonal. The choice was good too. The service was excellent, caring but not imposing. All in all we had a thoroughly good evening. We're planning our next visit already!!

I recently visited Harby and was delighted to see the vegetarian options available. I had the pasta with mushrooms and chillies and my colleague had the goats cheese quiche, both of these made a change to what you would usually find on a vegetarian menu. The little shop is great and the new refurbishments are looking fantastic. I would say this is well worth another visit!
