Boteco Do Brasil in Glasgow City

Love nights out in Boteco, always a great atmosphere at night, best place in city centre for a dance 💃🏼, music is my favourite. The staff are lovely. Food is 10/10. If you are looking for that Latin atmosphere or just a great place to socialise and dance definitely come here. Unfortunately my mobile was stolen on Saturday night, but Marcita was brilliant and helped to very quickly get back my mobile cannot thank her enough!!! She was very sweet and helpful thanks again Marcita 🫶🏼

I should have given this place a 5 star but the black bouncer was terrible it seems like he hate seen his fellow black man in that place he was very terrible I think he needs more education on how to be a good bouncer for a place like that but apart from that Botega is always a good place to be

Food from the north of Brazil, partly revisited and very tasty. The staff are very friendly and everyone is friendly and quick, it's a great choice for a cocktail or a meal if you're in the center of Glasgow!

I took advantage of the Monday tapas deal and enjoyed a delicious dinner with my friend accompanied by well-made cocktails. The service was fantastic and there was a fun, relaxed atmosphere. I would 100% recommend! I'm looking forward to my next visit!

Worst New Years 2023 experience ever. We didn’t have any drugs on us and yet they falsely accused us, they body searched us, two people from Black, Asian, and minority ethnicity (BAME) , without have any substantial evidence. Due to our intersectional identities, we believe we were racially profiled and then searched during their Hogmanay Party- Latin Connection 2023 . The body search was ineffective as we were two students from two prominent university in Scotland and have nothing to hide. I guess we were taken aback as we did not expect to experience institutional racism and bias from a place like Boteco Glasgow. I was also inappropriately touched by the female security during the body search process which was traumatising .

We were 3 people, 2 women and a man, we ordered the Picanha “FAMILY” dish. Because the name is family, we thought it would feed at least 3 people, but as soon as the food arrived we were surprised, it was extremely small to the point of barely eating 2 people, with very little rice and meat. As soon as we finished eating (the little food we had) we called management to question the quantity, the person in charge was trying to explain that the dish was for 2 people (note: there was nothing written on the menu or the quantity), and which, considering the price and the name, doesn't make any sense, he also said that it had 1kg of picanha, but I've been to several Brazilian restaurants and I know that it didn't even have 700g, besides the salad looking like a joke, it didn't even have 20g as you can see in the photo below. Apart from the small amount of food and lack of desire to solve the client's problem, the food is extremely tasty.

Had the tapas which was a fantastic deal and lovely food and choices. Staff were lovely and friendly. Would definitely go again

Slow but friendly service, food was ok, not the best Brazilian in town. Won't rush back.

The food was terrible, unfortunately. Tapas were overcooked and tasteless. Got a beef main, the beef was ok, but the sauce, potatoes and rice not so good. Cheesecake was terrible, didn't taste like cheesecake and £7 for a slice. Service was great, the ladies serving were fab. Unfortunately, the food lets the place down massively, and if you're not getting the tasteless tapas deal, it's expensive to eat in.

Scarlett was lovely and friendly, very attentive. Food and service was delicious and speedy, the caipininhas were phenomenal too.

ok so booked a table for 2 overall the food was lovely but ordered a steak platter medium rare when it arrived it was a tad over cooked quite tough to cut and chewy also the table we sat at was small and very hard to manouvre the plates on the table could have done with a larger table for 2

I had a great time at Boteco Do Brasil, a lively, cosy, colourful and beautiful restaurant Bar that serves Brazilian food. The food was delicious and authentic, especially the rice and beans dish, I forgot the name, but I remember ordering it twice the first time I visited... it was just delicious to say the least. However, the second time I decided to try this instead and downed two random cocktails because why not? But they were refreshing and strong, just how I like it. Their staff were just excellent, very welcoming and helpful with a lot of patience… I needed a lot of help to choose something haha. I happened to be there the day they had the love and playing, and it fantastic I was entertained. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun and tasty experience.

Ordered two mains. 1 arrived 20 mins later the other still hadn't appeared. Cancelled it and asked for bill. Offered free drinks but we were not in the mood. Said they would discount bill and they didn't. The meal we did get was just ok. I wouldn't go back. Despite that the waiting staff were decent enough.

Amazing place to eat drink and have fun with friends! Great atmosphere, affordable drinks and all the vibes of a South American stylish bar. Often shows sports events also live music and lots of Latin vibes for shake you up and living la Vida loca! Friendly happy staff Kids and families also very welcome !! A gem at Merchant city centre.

Food was very tasty, service excellent.

Don't mind Boteco for a wee late night drink but the bouncers are awful. Was in with my partner the other night and one of the bouncers kept making rude comments towards us such as "we're watching you on CCTV as you make out". Gross behavior. Should get something done about that.

Went in for some drinks on a Sunday evening and then ended up having some brazilian tapas which tasted good. It was not very busy..possibly because it was a Sunday. The lady who attended us was fantastic. Took orders quickly, told us about the tapa offer and had a quick chat with us to find out if we had enjoyed the meal. There was good music playing and it was just at the right level...not too loud. In all I plan to go back for a proper main meal

Nights at Boteco are pretty wild. Drinks and staff are very good but always seemed to have police outside later on at night. Sad because would be a class wee venue if they didn't get so much riffraff

We came here for a couple of drinks and decided to try the food. Absolutely no regrets!!! The food was incredible, tapas were tasty and the steak sizzling! We were served by Tania - unbelievable service, friendly, rapid, she gave us great advice for the rest of our trip around Glasgow. Recommend this place if you found yourself around Trongate!! If you do, ask for Tania!

Had booking for 6 and we got there half an hr earlier. Didn’t disappoint at all they let us in and out table was ready for thank you for that. Food was great I am afraid I can’t say the names but the steak and beef with beans tasted so great. Fish cake tapa’s definitely recommend! The cocktail menu was great I enjoyed my strawberry daiquiri. Service was just satisfying, food is quick and good so are drinks. Thank you for your service.

Absolutely cannot fault this bar/restaurant. The food was really good and the service cannot be faulted nothing was too much trouble and service with a smile goes a long way. Top notch service from Marcita and Katy. Excellently priced too so all in all couldn't have been better

Had visited boteco with some friends for a get together, the food and service was great! Couldn’t fault our experience at all. We were served by our waitress Mia who was so friendly and attentive to us, would definitely return !

Had been to a few places in Glasgow but this place was by far the best. Staff so friendly, great atmosphere & drinks were actually great prices I think just over £3 for a vodka and right in city centre. Will defos be back x

Myself and my husband booked through 5pm and got a great deal on 2 courses and a glass of wineThere was lots of choice on the menu and the food was first class !!The staff were so friendly and attentive especially our waitressHighly recommended and we will definitely be back

Awful customer service, bad food and definitely not Brazilian, at least not up to Brazilian standard. The vase in our table had cigaret bits and chewing gum. The waitress was very dry - almost rude. The food was more than disappointing. Will never return.

Not a great experience overall, the chargrilled steak and onion tapas starter was so salty it was inedible and the chicken thighs starter had no flavour whatsoever. The service was a bit confusing, I think we had 3 servers in total, all of which I wasn't sure they actually worked there in the first instance due to their attire; baggy hoodie and leggings and another had gym wear on - very strange. The mains we ordered were the chicken burger and beef burger respectively which were very plain and nothing to write home about. Meh all round and was unhappy to pay 25 for the food.

Lovely as always ♥️ food was amazing, the caipirinhas were a bit watery because it had too much ice, but besides that, everything was perfect. The Brazilian waitress was not very friendly but Virginia, the other waitress was just lovely and made our boteco experience even better we would definitely come back and enjoy more cocktails and nice food when the weather is a bit better ♥️ extra thank you to Virginia! ✨ Great customer service!

Had a lovely dinner at Boteco - our waitress Jo went above and beyond to make sure two of us got the dinner we wanted! Lovely food and drinks, would recommend. A class night :) (thanks to Jo)

I’ve come here since the bars have opened, jo is a great server, the drinks are great and the vibes are good. I also love John the security man he is gas !

Great friendly atmosphere. Fab choice of gluten free dishes. 12 slow cooked beef melted in mouth/fell off bone. Corn fed chicken thai dish a little bland needed more flavor however very nicely presented and fresh ingredients used. Only negative comment is the waitress was wearing literally gym gear. Made us feel uncomfortable not sure where to look (cropped top / tight leggings) inappropriate for a restaurant.

The young waitress went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. However they forgotten that after 8 pm we couldnt sit inside and they made it very clear for us that we should leave which was understanble.Food wasnt very good but very nice place to sith and have a drink

Went today for lunch. Felt a bit out of sorts as it was my first visit. "You can sit over there" - I had to ask for clarity as there was a whole restaurant of tables. The music was banging like a club. It was at least Brazilian. Wrong drinks came. The staff were unfriendly to a person who came in and asked to use the toilet.I understand all of this is minimal but I just didn't feel comfortable, nor did I want to spend my money there. We left.We can try the food on a take away basis but not keen to return.

Fue realmente un placer volver después de 4 meses de protección, especialmente con el programa Eat Out, extendido a lo largo de septiembre. Disfrutamos de los mejores mariscos asequibles de la ciudad y el postre del día siempre tiene un toque diferente. El servicio es amable y eficaz. ¡Volveremos mañana por más!

Came today for lunch and the food and service was outstanding, beautiful lunch date with my mum everything was cooked to perfection

Tuve un almuerzo increíble con amigos de Brasil, Colombia y Escocia. Comimos feijoada y picanha. La comida era simplemente deliciois. Las bebidas hechas con Marcita fueron increíbles, todos mis amigos quieren volver la semana que viene para el almuerzo o la cena. Las camareras son muy amables y serviciales, todas ellas en Aishari especial. Gracias Marcita y Aihari por el gran servicio que brindan en Boteco do Brasil, haciéndonos sentir como en casa a los brasileños y a los extranjeros sorprendidos con la gran hospitalidad y servicio.

First time for a meal since lockdown. Me and my friends we just loved the meal. we are planning to return maybe next week or a week after. Great costumer service from Gracy who always made sure that we had everything on the table.

We came here on Monday as we came from Liverpool to visit Glasgow and the Highlands for my husband's 40th birthday.We saw this place still had the Eat Out Promotion and we came in for this celebration.We were served by Grace, an amazing girl that made us feel comfortable and safe at all times!She recommended for us the brigadeiro as a desert and it was amazing!Unfortunately we are not in Glasgow anymore, but we are definitely coming here to try this amazing Brazilian food and to see Grace again!Thank you Grace for making a memorable lunch for us!

I had an amazing experience in boteco, my husband is brasilian and is the first time I try brasilian food. One of the waitresses was so helpful her name is grace she took time to explain me the dishes. Boteco have a great atmosphere no music but as the waitress explain is because of this COVID 19 pandemic but the service was great and we will be back.

Very efficient you see and choose what you want and you can have more if you want it I certainly had sufficient and reasonably priced as well. Love it! Marcia was great!

I’m a regular costumer I always come to boteco is a great place for cocktails and food. This time I brought my family and they love it, they was a little afraid because they never had brasilian food, one of staff member I don’t remember her name but she is black (I’m not racist just to make clear ) long brades blond and black she was amazing she explain to my family every single dish she was so paciente. The place have a good atmosphere and definitely we will be back

Was in here for drinks with friends on a Sunday afternoon, even with social distancing there was still a nice buzz about the place with couples and family’s. The table service was great we were served by Marcita who was very attentive and friendly making sure our glasses weren’t empty, we will definitely be back

The food took quite a while to come out and 7 out of the 8 tapas were cold. Thankfully they were tasty, but chorizo is always tasty so......

I have been many times at BOTECO DO BRASIL GLASGOW...and for sure its always the best way to beat the homesickwell the staff its very is very kind and helpful,working with that beautiful smile and energy...the manager Marcita its a icon from the place still more bright,give us attention and its always around to check if all is alrightthe food its delicious...i used to ask the most of times coxinhas for start but i can recomend the most of dishes...but to be honest normally i asked the same....feijoada cause this fullfil me wonderfulthe atmosphere looks like A DAY IN BRAZIL...delicous music and happiness around...during the day they used to play bossa nova but at night the place gets hot with samba ...thats super cooli really love the place and every time i past by glasgow i back to my favorite spot everthank you guys to make me feel so pleasentthe atmospher

(Home delivery during covid) The best deliveroo I’ve ever had. Well presented, restaurant standard food. Came warm and tasted as delicious as it looked. The starters/tapas were great, especially the shrimp and the casava beef. Mains were full of flavour! Would love to try this restaurant in person

We came across this bar/restaurant as we were looking for somewhere to have drinks. This seemed to be the busiest place at the time, around 6:30pm to where we got dropped off in the taxi. The waitress was lovely and very attentive. On the menu it was £2 Gin and Tonic- of course I was going to make use of that! It was also Bombay Sapphire I believe too.We wasn't intending of eating here, however, after seeing the food menu and also on Monday how all tapas were £3, we cancelled oue booking elsewhere and ate here instead. Between the two of us we got 6 tapas and also some cajun chips. This was more than enough. Our favourites were the mussels! After 5 drinks and the food the bill came out at £33 which was great value for money.Definitely come here if you love a bargain and nice food.

Bought a voucher for a 3 course meal. First course (no choice) was 5 olives between 2 people! We asked to follow this with a starter and main instead of a main and dessert, to be told that this would cost another £4 - even though starters and desserts cost the same. A rip-off. Avoid.

I took a friend to lunch and bought a Groupon for our visit. The voucher said starters were bread and olives to share. Well when it arrived we were both gobsmacked at what we got. In a tiny ramekin there were 4 olives and the same size ramekin next to it were about 6 1x1 inch bread knots which were smaller than the olives and balsamic and olive oil dip.!!!! TO SHARE really!!! The main course we both chose the black bean stew. Taste was OK but the pork was not PORK, it was pieces of solid fat and there must have been about 5 pieces in mine alone. Looking at the picture of the portion size is a joke compared to what we got. Only thing that was good was the dessert. The wine and prosecco amount was also miniscule. I doubt I will be back as we went somewhere afterwards because we were still hungry.

Visited here on Fri 31st Jan with friends we hadn't been before so unsure of what to expect..what a fantastic night can't praise the manager enough, marcita, she went above and beyond constantly checking if everything was ok was there anything we needed. Food was amazing as were the drinks will defo be back loved the party atmosphere really made you want to get up an join in....thanks marcita

Visited with two girlfriends on a wet, grey January afternoon- what a lovely surprise. We were on a deal 2 courses + glass of wine for £12 so I wasn’t expecting much. How wrong was I. A delicious fish and potato dish followed by an amazing chocolate dessert washed down with a very respectable house red. The staff were young and very attentive and the music was great. All in all a very enjoyable afternoon.

Was gifted a meal for two here for five tapas dishes, a dessert and two cocktails. The service was great the waitress was very attentive but it was difficult to hear her as the music was quite loud. The food was okay but the muscles I had ordered a lot of the shells had cracked into tiny pieces which made it rather unpleasant to eat. The cocktails we were given were incredibly strong but the stuffed peppers and the cheesy dough balls were delicious!

There is unobtrusive background music . Great atmosphere special attention. Staff are attentive and service is second to none. Absolutely no complaints. Fourth visit for myself and my cousin who joined us this time by her mother and friend who also were so impressed.

Really different option of food which is a refreshing change in Glasgow. 3 courses and every one of them was beautiful. We were in on a Saturday night around 8pm having booked ahead and the atmosphere was buzzing. We’ll be back soon.

Visited here as a family of four, my first time but not for my daughter or son, the starters included prawn skewers, a potato and veg, choritzo dish and a cheese ensemble all of which were delicious and at £4.95 each reasonable value

Always really enjoyed the chilled atmosphere here. Noticed recently that they are letting people in wearing football colours and allowing them to start singing football chants. This then causes drinks to be serviced in plastic at 6pm! Shame that this then dampens the experience for others - sort this out please !

We popped into boteco do Brazil before a gig as I had heard about it it was warm and inviting and the staff were very friendly Cocktails very good prices and Toilets very clean will return 10/10

We were very surprised to find a Brazilian restaurant in Glasgow. The food is exactly like the ones served in Brazil. Very tasty, fresh, abundant. Service is Brazilian as well. They will let you take your time, eat relax and enjoy! The caipirinha is well made. I recommend if you are a Brazilian that misses home food or if you want to try some real warm the heart food. Thank you so much for having my family over. We have been living outside of Brazil for almost 9 years now. Good food is something we miss.

we were on a tourist visit to Glasgow and while shopping near George Square decided to go have lunch. we enquired about restaurants but no one actually knew where to find one. we continued walking down the street and saw this restaurant and decided to go see what was on offer. The waitress seated us explained each dish we ordered both food and drinkds at once and was surprised at the quality and price. The only thing though was that in the beef dishes the beef is not exactly chewable it needs to be tender not cut very small and hard. Overall a great experience but maybe more staff needed to clear tables and wipe them clean.
