Great food, maybe a bit pricey but good nonetheless and good beer

I will not return here. From the start the staff were rude and kept emphasizing how we only had 2 hours for the table , and we could order if we ensured we were going to be off the table within 2 hours. We ordered Bloody Mary only to be told there’s no Lea n perrins or Tabasco available. The food was nice but staff completely rude and ignorant and we don’t need to keep getting told the countdown of time we have on the table despite ordering plenty of food and drinks So disappointing for Mother’s Day.

Have just returned from dining here. Although the food was very good myself, wife and daughter ate one at a time as there was at least 5 minutes in between each persons food being brought to the table. I have eaten here many times before but will not be returning.

There is nothing else of its kind in the area. The decor, ambience, quality of the food and service is second to none. We have visited multiple times and worked our way through both the food and cocktail menu and have truly never been disappointed - we particularly love the Sunday roast! Highly recommend anyone to visit here and see for yourself!

My first visit to Churchtown and what a beautiful place. I was looking for a nice place for a birthday lunch which included catering for vegan as well. We were not disappointed at all. What an absolutely charming restaurant. A very good selection of food and all made to perfection and presented beautifully. Excellent knowledge of wine and desserts to die for. The service was top notch couldn’t have asked for more from our wonderful hosts at the Botanical Road Kitchen. Would highly recommend and will be visiting again. Thankyou to all the staff for making us so welcome and making our day extra special ❤️

One of the best Sunday roasts I've gad in Southport. Music a bit loud though, popular restaurant be prepared to wait for food, book in advance.

I had piri piri king prawns & salt & pepper calamari… tasted wonderful & my partner had vegan options of corn and peanut butter charred and cauliflower spring roll & truffle fries. The food wasn’t up to it’s usual standards. I asked if there was a new chef but they said no. This is a great place owned by a couple and we hadn’t been for a long time. There was a new manageress. My husband couldn’t eat is starter as the chicken was overcooked & my carbonara was very salty with hard bits of bacon on top. Service and wine very good as well as the atmosphere. It may improve another time it was very busy.

Had a really nice evening at Botanic Road Bar and Eatery. We went for the small plates and every single one of them was absolutely delicious. We eat out a lot and tend to go to nice places including michalin restaurants and this is just as nice if not better than many we have been to. The calamari was one of the best I've had, and the seabass and pea Rissotto was to die for. The staff are really helpful and can't do enough for you. Service was exceptional. The price is very reasonable too so you can't go far wrong!

Small plates menu is superb. Fabulous choice of fish, meat and vegetables all cooked to perfection. The black pudding with stilton is out of this world. One of Southport's best restaurants. 2023 update: The menu has been revamped but the food remains excellent. The beef ragu pasta is superb, my wife loves the Thai green curry and the small plates are still delicious. A special mention for the desserts: both the Eaton mess and the cheesecake are worth saving g a small space for.

Almost every Botanic Road review here awards the Kitchen ʘʘʘʘʘ (5*) and I can't disagree. We were greeted warmly @ 12:20 on Wednesday, and served at our pace by pleasant staff. Minor moans first - with hard flooring, tables (and chairs!), the echoing ambient noise was troubling for a deaf man like me. Also, one item from the online menu (Lamb Rump) had moved to Sundays only. But never mind that, all the food we ate was absolutely delicious, and our starter nibbles, from the top of the menu, (Baby Chorizo and delightful Crispy Whitebait) were good value too, at under £5 each. The Large Plate Mains we chose were Chicken Supreme and Thai Green Curry, both very tasty (altho' my missus was surprised to be charged £6 extra to add chicken to her curry!). The wine was not over priced, a glass costing only a third of a bottle, and I must make special mention of the very excellent Pinot Noir. I guess that the Small Plates will be good value too, as their prices were half that of Large, and their descriptions sound attractive. My Ground-hog Day test is 'would I want to go back again and again?' Yes! I'm sure we'll eat here another time when we visit Churchtown, even if parking spaces might be busier at night.

I went here yesterday with my mother (over from South Africa), daughter, granddaughter & grandson. What a gorgeous setting, stunning. Waitress was super friendly and grandchildren polished off their food. Our food was delicious, two of us had the carbonara dish and one chicken Caesar salad. What a gem of a place in Churchtown.

Customer service is second to none. Food was excellent. This was our first visit and we can’t wait to bring the rest of our family. Highly recommend.

We came for a meal and discovered that a new menu was being launched. The food was delicious. The menu was rather more flexible than previously, mixing the idea of traditional starters and mains with the small plates offering. Certainly worth a visit and you will, I am sure, decide to come back. The staff as always were attentive and competent. Really pleasant evening. We were made aware of the happy hour which is available on Wednesday and Thursday and is an attractive addition to the offering

We had a late lunch on Sunday at the Botanic Road Kitchen. We had pre-ordered roast beef and roast lamb. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly attentive and welcoming. There is a happy hour now between 12 and 7pm which appears successful. Interesting cocktails at a reasonable price. We have eaten here on a number of occasions and have never been disappointed. I am happy to recommend this restaurant

Positives This restaurant is nicely decorated and is very clean throughout. The staff are very polite and helpful. The food is delicious and presented well. The fries are tasty and there is a choice of dips. The drinks were served promptly and there wasn't a long wait for the food. Staff very attentive. Negatives The table was a bit too close to the neighbouring tables so a bit of a squeeze. The background music was a little bit too loud if you're wanting to chat. The food portions were very small. The price of the food was a little high considering the small portions. I would recommend this venue to couples and small groups of adults who appreciate gourmet style food but who aren't counting the pennies. Thanks for reading

Superb food and service nice atmosphere well worth a visit

My first visit here today, for Sunday lunch. A very enjoyable experience altogether. Lovely food, delightful ambience and first class staff. Thoroughly recommend, but book early, as it gets very busy! Olivia, the supervisor, is spot-on in her job, with a fantastic sense of humour, but not at all intrusive. Worth her weight in gold, in my opinion. Will definitely be returning.
