What a find, we love Tapa's and we were not disapointed 5 star all round.

Will definitely be going back. Great food and the whiskey sours cocktails went down a treat. Not dog friendly

A beautiful, quaint and authentic tapas bar. Delicious food, drink and great service from Asif and the team.

Nice tapas. Book in advance. Lots of parking nearby. Waiters were having a few arguments next to us. Service was fine. - chorizo: best dish. Balanced, moreish and juicy ✅ - patatas bravas: well cooked ✅ - blood orange salad: delightful. fresh and sharp. changed the flavour profile of the meal. ✅ - boquerones: anchovies❓ - bread and olives: they offer it when you sit and it felt like an upsell. £4 for the olives, £5 for the bread and aioli❓ - salt and pepper calamari: didn’t enjoy ❌ - mackerel croquetas: giant balls. I don’t like the texture of blended fish ❌ - chicken: boring - chicken needed colour ❌

Delicious tapas, even better with the 'house' red, yum. Great value & reasonably priced. Service...Asif, & all of the team, were brilliant. Strongly recommend and will definitely be back.

We went to celebrate my daughters birthday and had a great experience. Service excellent. The food was good ... the only thing that disappointed was the Serano ham was supermarket type ham. I've had enough tapas to know that the ham is usually one of the big highlights and felt slightly let down when this generic serano turned up. Shame. Otherwise all the usual tapas dishes were good. Sorry no photos this time...

There’s a really good range of tapas, which all taste superb. (Especially the Octopus, Mussels, and Almond Chicken for me). Lovely drinks too, and most importantly: really friendly and attentive staff! I’ve never had to wait long. Sometimes I’ve booked in advance or just walked in and both have been seamless.

We have been a couple of times to this wonderful restaurant. The food, drinks and service is excellent. One of the best Baileys coffee I’ve had in years. Proud to Supporting local independents. Keep the good work up.

Everything was nice, apart from the food

Once again the food was outstanding we have never had a bad experience. The steak and pork dishes were sublime. I cannot recommend Boquerones Tapas and Cocktails enough.

Beautiful and authentic tapas. Each dish was beautiful, but the butterbean and garlic spread with Serrano ham was stunning!

An overall amazing place for tasty, affordable, authentic tapas with generous portions, in a well decorated lively atmosphere with quick and friendly service. I recently went here with my family while visiting for the holidays, and was pleasantly surprised. I'm not usually, unfortunately, one for trying new places, between the anxiety and neurodivergence, but the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, even if it was busy, and we had to wait to be seated, even past the time we booked a table. Needless to say, they apologetically took our orders of drinks and food while we waited, so it was ready as soon as we were seated. Now, I only ordered one cocktail, and it was amazing, and there were many more to choose from, offering a range of unique interests cocktail builds, and an array of classics too. The food was wonderful, some of the best food I've had possibly ever. I think I'd struggle to find something on this menu (which is neatly organized for mobile with e QR Code) that I didn't like. And again, this is coming from a relatively fussy eater, and I loved everything. I found myself so full, but enjoying the food so much I just couldn't stop. The service is kind and friendly, servers even stopping for chats, recognizing regulars, and seemingly trying to build community actively within the local area. Now. I wish I could be 100% impressed. But there was one thing that let me down with this place. This isn't the time or the place to discuss gendered vs. non-gendered bathrooms but; this establishment has 2 toilets that are INDIVIDUAL stalls (a room with a toilet and sink), and yet they're gendered, for seemingly no reason. It makes even less sense when the one accessible bathroom is also labelled as female? What? They are toilets for 1 person; gendering these toilets does nothing but directly target and harm gender non-conforming or trans* individuals, putting in place barriers for their needs and comforts, and oddly in this instance, creates a strange scenario for disabled men who must use the 'female' restroom. It's odd. Making both of these rooms unisex, while identifying the assessable toilet as such would ONLY make a more comfortable environment for marginalised people. But I digress. Overall, a lovely place, which came to around £120 for a family of 5, which included a bottle of wine and drinks, and we were all stuffed. I'm definitely planning on dining here again if given the chance

Definitely one of the hidden gems of eating scenes in Newcastle. Lovely setting, affordable price, great food and friendly staff. Loved everything.

This place is excellent and the only Spanish Tapas restaurant in Newcastle I would take my family. Definitely up to standards with Spanish cuisine! Great food, great cocktails, nice atmosphere and good service with good prices for the quality. Being from Spain, I can safely say this place does really good Spanish food and not the usual knock off like the rest :)

Amazing authentic tapas in this quaint Heaton restaurant. Everything we had was off the highest quality but the croquettes and prawns stole the show for me. Along with some excellent sangria. It should be said the prices are high especially for the area but it’s certainly a case here of getting what you pay for

What can I say, phenomenal from start to finish. We were greeted with champagne for our anniversary and a really warm welcome. The tapas is delicious, get the creme brulee afterwards it's gorgeous. The service is the best around. The decor is beautiful and we felt so relaxed in the restaurant. We felt like we'd been a hundred times with the warm welcome. They make you feel like family. We had Asif serving us and he was fantastic and we can't wait to come back.

The best Tapas and Sangria in the North East. Portion sizes are good and the quality high.

Had a wonderful experience with Asif servicing us. I had chorizo with honey, the "boquerones" and chicken thighs with cinnamon and almond sauce. EVERYTHING was amazing. I will never have chorizo without honey ever again. Any so called foodie should be stopping at this diamond of a restaurant.

Visiting Newcastle for GNR and found this delightful restaurant on TripAdvisor with excellent reviews, it didn’t disappoint. The service was fantastic, Asif was genuinely welcoming. Gorgeous food and a great atmosphere, sadly I don’t live locally or I would back again soon.

What a fabulous restaurant! What amazing food! I was a bit nervous abour what to order since I don't have tapas regularly but the staff were helpful and friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and had a really relaxed experience. If you're anywhere nearby go! Booking recommended though!

Great find, food was very good. It's not what I would call cheap but you get what you pay for. That's good freshly cooked good food.

went here for my brothers graduation meal and we had a lovely experience, the service was amazing and really quick despite it being busy. the food was all really tasty & great value for money. overall had a really good experience here and would love to come back next time i’m in the area!

Absolutely fantastic. Asif is an excellent host (as are the other staff) food is brilliant, an absolute taste sensation. Authentic tapas. Not an extensive choice, but what there is.. is marvelous. Good choice of wine as well....they have the Guv'nor 😋. Thoroughly recommend. 10 out of 10.

Excellent food, excellent cocktails, excellent cocktails. Baked feta takes 20 minutes longer than everything else but is one of the best dishes. Don't fill up before it arrives like we did!

I've walked past this place plenty of times over the years, and never decided to go in. What a mistake! This was possibly the best tapas I've ever had. I always order patatas bravas in a new place, because it's a "safe bet", but theirs was good enough to be the star of the show! Everything was so flavourful and well crafted: the duck & orange croquettes were incredible; the chicken stew was mouthwatering; even the frittata had a subtle, smokey flavour; and it all worked so well together. I was underwhelmed by the dish the restaurant is named after (small sprats, sliced and marinated), but only because I had imagined it as big chunks of whitefish, so that's my own fault 😆 Service was friendly and prompt: even though we hadn't booked. Asif made us feel welcome, and well looked after. 10/10 would come here again. I just wish I'd discovered this place *before* I moved from Newcastle to Scotland!

We are from California, and Boquerones Tapas and Cocktails was some of the best tapas we have ever had. Everything was delicious, particularly the steak that comes from the butcher next door, and the baked feta with grapes. Great service by Asif. Beautiful atmosphere as well. Highly recommended.

The best food I have ever eaten. I was absolutely blown away by the food it was so delicious. The drinks were amazing as well. I had the lemon and blueberry spritz (think that is what it’s called!) and it was perhaps one of the nicest drinks I have ever had. The food came out promptly and the staff were so incredibly friendly and accommodating. Truly a wonderful and delicious experience I shall be returning!

Absolutely stunning tapas. We had 3 tapas each plus bread and were stuffed! My only criticism would be that the service was so quick we were in, eaten and out within an hour! Not necessarily a bad thing though! Thought that the baked feta with grapes was a slightly weird combo and the padron peppers were very bitter. However this may just be personal preference as the rest of the food was absolutely incredible! Definitely coming here again!!

I adore this place. I've been twice so far; once with a friend and another with a larger group, and the food and margaritas were 10/10 both times. The service is friendly, the cocktails are tasty, the food is amazing, and the prices are reasonable. Can't wait to go back!

Excellent service and very nice food - the tapas steak was particularly good, it couldn’t fault any of it. Even the Boquerones fish, though not to our taste, was very good value and an experience! Would highly recommend!

Very good tapas and friendly, attentive service! We had a lovely meal here, the albondigas (meatballs) and tostado were stars of the show, absolutely delicious. It’s a cosy little place to have a meal and the staff are super friendly.

Best tapas we have ever had. Was supposed to be a quick stop off meal on our one night in Newcastle before a week in Edinburgh. And we still talk about this meal as a highlight of our trip. Amazing. Loved it.

Great little restaurant. Made to feel really comfortable by the staff. Good was unreal, so tasty & reasonably priced for the portion sizes.

Really lovely spot for lunch on a sunny Saturday. 4 of us got 3 dishes each and was more than enough, really fresh and tasty, lots of cocktail, beer and wine option. Asif, our waiter, was absolutely brilliant and a real credit to the place, will definitely be back!!

Ambience and service are great (that’s the star). Food flavour is basic for the prices. The killer was the mistakes in the bill (+25%!) that seemed cheeky rather than a mistake by the way it was corrected.

Lovely little place. The service was excellent and the good was delicious. Our favourite was the sweet potato croquetas. Very reasonably priced and a nice atmosphere. It was very warm downstairs but it is summer!

Nice choice of interesting tapas. Sangria delicious. Downstairs was a little hot and stuffy when it filled up. Also very noisy, but people were having fun.

Todas las tapas exquisitas, especialmente los calamares y las croquetas. Los churros estaban demasiado aceitosos y los pimientos fritos un poco crudos, pero todo lo demás lo cocinaron a la perfección. Las porciones estuvieron bastante generosas, para lo que se suele uno encontrar en restaurantes españoles, yo recomendaría 3 tapas por persona si venís aquí, a nosotros nos fue suficiente. El servicio fue magistral, desde al hacer la reserva hasta cómo nos trataron las camareras, con una gran amabilidad. El restaurante es un poco pequeño ya que tiene bastantes mesas para el tamaño del piso, pero para nosotros no fue ningún problema, aunque casi no nos caben todas las tapas en la mesa. Nos lo pasamos muy bien, sinceramente, si echáis de menos la comida española este es un excelente lugar al que ir!!

Been trying to get here for a long time - I was not disappointed!! I love everything about this place. The Tapas set up really suited me because when I saw the menu I wanted to try everything. My favourites were the steak and the croquettes. Churros were to die for too. Everything had a beautiful mix of flavours and textures which made the meal really interesting. My friend enjoyed her sangria too The interior is like stepping into another world a bit - another country and another time, maybe only 50 years back. Its cosy but interesting, lots to look at and the vibe makes you want to stay and relax a while with your friends and good chat. Very popular so must book. Highly recommend

Excellent food and atmosphere. Make sure you call up and book as on a busy night you may not be able to walk in. A member of the table was vegan and asked which potatas bravas was vegan, as they both looked the same. Server did not know and was about to put it down until we asked. Also the chef asked her if she was okay with yeast. It came across a bit passive aggressive. More training and understanding needed with vegan customers.

I had a birthday meal here in November. The food was excellent. I'm a Chef myself and was very impressed. The service was great and the wine, beer and sherry delicious. I'm looking forward to going back.

This unassuming little Tapas restaurant on the outskirt of Newcastle was absolutely divine. Everything from the atmosphere to the drinks, the food, to the staff was perfect and your couldn't have ask for more. Excellent selection of food and drinks, very fast delivery and most importantly personal service. Charlie was extremely helpful with her advice regarding the food and drink and also gave us recommendations for the next day breakfast which also has not disappointed. Highly recommended and we will make it our mission to book a reservation the next time we are up in Newcastle.
