Went to Booths later than usual. Around 5.25pm great selection of good.

If you like M&S, then you'll find Booths to your liking. Excellent choice and the staff very polite and helpful.

Billed as the 'Waitrose of the North', it's good, but I think it's not quite up to Waitrose standard in all aspects. It was a nice change from Waitrose and M&S, though.

Called first thing this Monday morning and received fantastic service from Neil at the breakfast counter. Good cappuccino and Cumberland sausage sandwich.

Quality supermarket in the beautiful city of Ripon.

Enjoyed coffee and cake with friends in the café.

Had coffee in the café. Very slow service. 3 in front of me and it took nearly 15 minutes to get 2 coffees!! 2 staff behind the counter, 1 to serve food and 1 to serve coffee. Fair enough but the girl on coffee was just standing there waiting until the food was served. I think she could have been taking orders for hot drinks and making them, or is that just me being a bit impatient?

Always a lovely breakfast but the waiting time seems to be getting longer.

Its a supermarket where you get your cash back when you park there and shop.

OK supermarket a little expensive

Excellent local products and the first place I have been to in a while that doesn't offer self service check-out. They are proud to have great staff to give the personal touch.

Such a lovely experience, you feel relaxed with a bit of nostalgia. Beautiful selection of food and staff are attentive.

Appreciate that the costing of things here can be higher than other grocery stores but when my purse can stretch to visit the range and quality really is worth it where it's very important to have good flavor, quality and anything fresh to still be ok a few days after you've bought it, until some stores I wont mention. Super range of Xmas gifts and treats all placed in easy to browse manner without empty boxes cluttering shelves and trolleys blocking isles. I love that there is lots of local produce that's celebrated. The staff there are really exceptional, not rushing, taking the time to talk during the process but not so they hold others up who may be in a rush and being, simply sincerely pleasant where there is too much fake friendliness and emotionless emoji's in the world. This shop really has a great team working for them. Well done.

Shop needs no more praise it is excellent. The coffee shop is also well worth a visit. We had our breakfast there yesterday and the service was one of the best we have enjoyed in a long time, the coffeevwas good and the cooked breakfast excellent

Smaller selection than mainstream supermarkets but has some different stock. I visit occasionally to see if they have anything I fancy, mainly beer or something I forgot to buy in my main shop elsewhere. Worth a visit. Convenient cheap parking for shopping in Ripon.

What a fantastic shop there staff are so customer oriented nothing is too much trouble wonderful fresh food too I love going food shopping now, used to go to Aldi in Ripon but there staff are so rude and very unhelpful it's just not worth the small saving . Thank you Booths for restoring my faith in food shopping. All praise to your great staff

"Waitrose of the North" sold us, but no self checkouts was a bonus. It was a very pleasant shopping experience for those of us who have moved north from the home counties, we do miss Waitrose. Unfortunately, the North East is blighted by Aldis and Lidls like acne on a teenager. Booths is generally a North West based shop and ripon is the cloest to us, but this was the best part of an hour journey one way, which means this unfortunately won't be our weekly shopping destination. But it was nice to feel a bit civilised for a while... I did knock one star off, and believe me I know the irony, for the attitude of the "lads" covering the checkouts during our visit. Which is a shame as it was an otherwise perfect experience.

Worthy of its high reputation. If I had one in my area it would be my number one option to go to each week.

Their policy of removing self serve tills is unfounded and customer unfriendly. I went today and only two manned tills were open with the kiosk in addition. Long queues were evident with people getting food for lunch from the excellent deli but stood in a queue whilst it went cold. I only had one item to buy, but after today's experience I will buy from other stores in the city.

Been into the store on multiple occasions now and you have to thoroughly check the dates on items, each time I go in items are out of date, as an example this evening latte coffee had an expiry of October 23, nearly a month past its date, previous times, milk, cakes, wafer cones etc, all past best before by date, staff don't seem to care when notified. I take it they don't do stock checks at this store????

I like booths. More expensive then usual supermarkets but it's better quality stuff

A great l smallish supermarket, with a car park. Free before 8am, after you pay at the meter and get your money back in store. A good selection of products, in a well laid out store. Booths are an expensive supermarket compared to others but it is a different shopping experience. Cafe upstairs and toilets also.

The best selection of top quality food and drink with impeccable service. You can't go wrong.

Awfully dark shop. Depressing. Very small selection of things to shove in the oven too; surely this is a must for a Booths in an affluent area with lots of tourism.

Stopped here for the electric car charging points and found a really good supermarket with a restaurant and toilets upstairs, but they do have a lift. 👍😃

Booths remains a go to shop for quality and products you cannot find in the more numerous supermarkets. Ample paid parking which you can claim back when you shop in the store

I had never been in booth's before, the ripon shop was a very well kept shop with a lot of different things to choose from,the staff were very nice and friendly

I visited Booths cafe with a friend yesterday. Knowing how professional and friendly the supermarket is, I was expecting similar service. There were 3 members of staff on duty. Not one of them smiled or said thank you. After waiting for some time for our soup, I asked if it was coming. It had been forgotten about. There was no apology, just a disgruntled look and told it would be another 8 minutes as they would have to microwave it, or a refund. We waited and ate our sandwiches which were very poor, my friend had to leave most of hers. The soup was eventually brought and just put on the table with nothing said. Needless to say we will never be returning!

Called into the store as a visitor from Durham. I spoke to butcher, baker and trolly guy and had to compliment them on their positive attitude- so friendly and polite.

After several very pleasant visits to Booths in Carnforth during a holiday in the area, we decided to visit Booths in Ripon. Our reason for the visit was the excellent all day breakfast and overall service at Carnforth. We expected the same at Ripon but were sadly disappointed. First of all cutlery was dirty and my husband had to ask for a clean knife. Secondly no serviettes were available and again we needed to ask for some. We sat down to wait for our meals. Husband and son had the all day breakfasts and I had the smaller breakfast. I noticed immediately that the sausages were not browned and didn't look very appetising. The tea came together with tiny pots of milk (at Carnforth we had milk left over) we had to try to 'stretch' it to make it sufficient for a top up. Most disappointing of all though was my toast. Husband and son had white toast and even that was very lightly done. However, my brown toast had barely seen any heat and was stone cold resembling raw bread. The tiny pat of butter was only sufficient for one half of the round of 'toast'. I love my toast and this ruined the breakfast for me. Sorry to leave a bad review but unless made aware this service will continue and (like us) people will not return to eat in the restaurant. Tables left uncleared was another thing we noticed and peole having to sit at uncleared tables. The staff were pleasant enough so can't fault them. During these times of viruses and being extra diligent with hygene to see staff actually wiping down tables and keeping everything clean is reassuring. This just was not happening in the restaurant at Ripon.

The shop needs a deep clean. The floors are dirty in particular the entrance. I was in Sainsbury's in Northallerton last week. You could have eaten food off the floor it was so clean. Booths Ripon is a disgrace so far as cleanliness is concerned

So pleased we have a Booths, such a nice place to shop. Never hurried, very helpful staff, wonderful choice, excellent cheese counter, meat and fish. A pleasure to walk about and find unusual things. Booths a family firm originates in the NW and I can recall the Kendal supermarket when i lived there in the 1970's. Now there are a few branches in Yorkshire. They have always supported local food producers and don't brag about it, they just get on and do a good job!! Thank you Booths.

I am known for taking all their Cumberland Sausages when ever I do my BBQ, quality food.

Had very nice coffee and slice if Victoria Sponge. Staff friendly and helpful, cheerfully serving us even though it was right on closing time. Cafe spacious and airy.

Booths has a great range of fish, meat and veg. Peter on the butchery counter is really helpful! Good cheese selection too!

Very good easy to get served,and in and out without to much hassle.The layout is quite easy to follow, although things have been moved around for Christmas. And the Amazon locker is almost outside. It's still a lovely shop and I enjoy shopping there.For quality it can't be beaten.still as good as ever,plenty of choice. Yes you pay a bit more for your shopping but it's worth it.

Booth specialises in being unlike other supermarkets. Local produce, unusual ingredients and well set out stores . Booths have always known what a few of the other supermarkets are getting. Selling cheap generic food isn't what everyone wants.

The sourcing of the products and quality of foods make this my supermarket of choice.

We visited the Cafe and the food was great but the service was terribly, terribly slow. My son had finished his lunch before I even returned from ordering (and there was only 2 people in front of me).

Lovely supermarket and nice to have the choice in Ripon but please use it more everyone ... Not busy enough i reckon and it has a cafe and a free car park if you use the voucher .

We know Booths from visiting in the Lake District. Same quality and service didn't disappoint.

We popped in for a mid morning snack. I enjoyed the cake and coffee and, as always, the staff were great. The tables are spaced out well too so you have plenty of room and it’s doesn’t feel crowded.

Food department 1st class, the 2 stars is for the cafe upstairs. It was diabolical, 6 tables with dirty cups, plates etc on, food on the floor. Only went in for a coffee, took 25 minutes before it arrived, it was table service, and when the young gentleman walked back, he didn't think to clear a table on his way, the customers were shifting it from one table to another. I actually went downstairs and asked for the store manager, who was on his day off but the trainee manager spoke to me. She was very understanding, but did tell her there seems to be no leadership up there, she did offer me a free coffee next time I call in but, that's not I was wanting, nor my money back, I've been using this cafe since it opened, I love it there, please don't let your standards slip, whether your busy or not, it's no excuse, I will call in again, hopefully I won't be walking into chaos

As supermarkets go this is one of the better ones. A good selection of local produce plus other goods you can only get in some of the higher end shops. Overall very good.

I’ve just had one of their new Big Breakfasts in the cafe. This was of great quality and very tasty. Staff as always went beyond my expectation. I’d strongly recommend that you try it.

Great store, with loads of quality food on offer. Amazing selection of spirits, wine, beers etc and seem to have a nice selection of premium foods etc. Not always the cheapest place, but if you want quality food it is the place to go.

Staff are friendly and welcoming. The food here is great, they stock all kinds of quality products and make Waitrose look working class. Great for a special treat but too expensive for my weekly shop.

We had the festive afternoon tea this week. Everything from the quality crockery, standard of presentation and service to the excellence of the food items was a lovely surprise. There are other options for afternoon tea but try the festive one while it is available.

Good store great staff but not impressed with the cheese section every booth's store in Lancashire as well stocked cheese counter with knowledgeable staff to help and advise you , very little choice in the Ripon store

Overpriced and would not recommend if you are in a rush. I expected to be straight in and out as i knew what I needed. It took 10 minutes for the lady at the checkout to scan 5 items before me for one customer. I wouldn't have been to bothered if it wasn't for her slamming my shopping down when I got to the till. Much better customer service and prices at Sainsburys and Aldi.

Have always found the service in the supermarket to be very good, so expected the same in the cafe. But it couldn't be farther from the truth. When we entered for a quick sandwich and drink. every, and I mean every, table was littered with previous customers' trays, etc. Not until we were leaving, some 45 minutes later were any tables cleared. We ordered 2 drinks and a sandwich, and were told that they would be brought to the table. We waited 25 minutes before getting them! The gents toilet was spotless, but the floor in the ladies was wet and covered with tissue paper. The management need to think very hard about the running of this cafe.

Wonderfully helpful staff. Rustled up a Gluten Free sandwich and some tasty soup for lunch. Coffee afterwards was delicious.

A wonderful member of staff on customer services went the extra mile to find some lost property that I had left in the toilets at Booth’s least a week before. Having run businesses myself I appreciated the effort this young lady made to resolve my issue. I did speak to the manager to let him know what a gem they had in store & bought her some chocolates as a gesture. I think that her name was Lydia; but hope that she gets the recognition for her fabulous customer service.
