Excellent service, excellent food and great value. Sunday banquet meal enjoyed by all of us. Will definitely return again when we are this way again.

Above-average food at a very reasonable price. Recently BYO alcohol: having brought our own beer, the staff offered to keep it in their fridge and then served it to us - this I've never seen before! Extremely friendly throughout, but the highlight was when we'd left, forgotten our bag, got half a mile away, then turned round to find the waiter sprinting after us with the bag!!!

We visited this restaurant prior to attending a concert locally. The food was pretty good, portion sizes are good and the menu clear and easy to understand. Decor was also good too. What really made it for us though was the attentive staff who were friendly, obliging and welcoming. I'd go back just for that reason; the good food only adding to my satisfaction with the meal as a whole. I understand it is relatively new management and it was clear to sense that they are desperately keen to do a damn good job!

Either missing items despite telling them to include them, all the food quality is very inconsistent these days. This order was missing two items and my chicken Jalfrezi was covered in half an inch of oil and had no flavour. Has the chef changed? What’s happened to your management of operations? I don’t think it’s that hard to read the order and double check to include actual items. After all this is a delivery service. Hopefully this feedback will be helpful to you as a restaurant, and that you can restore order and organisation back into your establishment. But most of all, get the food quality back up to its usual standard.

We were looking for an Indian restaurant and were making our way to Kings Cross via some quieter streets and by good fortune came across the Bombay Lounge. It was fairly early and the restaurant was empty so we got our choice of tables. We ordered Chicken Pakora and Onion Bhaji to start along with some poppadoms. The starters were all nice and fresh - the poppadoms were super crispy and delicious. We both had Pasandas - one Lamb and one Chicken - the sauces were slightly different which suited each meat rather than one size fits all - we had Aloo Gobi, garlic rice and coconut/cashew rice as our accompaniments. All the dishes were perfectly cooked and were absolutely delicious. The rice was great and the cashew nut rice had plenty of nuts. The rice portions are not huge but they were big enough for one person. The staff were attentive and friendly without being overbearing or intrusive. This restaurant has recently been taken over by new management as we found out while we were leaving, I do hope the great food and service continues and although it is nowhere near me I am already making plans to revisit soon .

We really enjoyed the food at the Bombay Lounge. It was clearly freshly prepared and had minimal added oil - absolutely lovely. For good, honest Indian food prepared well but without any airs and graces you really have to visit this place. The man in charge was also lovely. A word of warning... the toilet is down some very steep stairs and isn't the most welcoming.

It took a long time to get very ordinary food. Some of the meat was tough. The restaurant was empty so it’s not clear why we had such a bad experience I don’t recommend this place.

Second time eating here and both times the food has been superb! Friendly staff and I would deffinately recommend it to others!

Food was great, came in reasonable time and the service was friendly and quick on his feet.<br /><br />The only issue was down to the inclement weather outside. It was very cold outside, and because people were leaving and coming regularly, the room went cold quickly. But it&#039;s more of a design fault of the premises rather than the restaurant&#039;s problem, so I wouldn&#039;t consider it a big deal. I will come back once the weather is better :)

HI Everyone, Visited this restaurant in month of August & September, I visited this restaurant multiple times & i must say food & taste of food here is good & even fresh. I have tried many dishes like Chicken Rogan, Chicken Dupiaza, Chicken Vindaloo etc. Tried Dal, Jeera Rice, Poppadum (Which is papad). Ambiance is quite & pleasant with soft music running in behind. You can drink wine, beer, gin etc. Anything you like. Place is good for Family, Friends, Couples etc. Owner knows about taste & dishes so he will suggest & also understand your customize requirement. Overall i am happy with food, taste, freshness, & obviously this is budget oriented hotel.

I like this place. 5th or 6th visit this year so far. Great service and well priced food. Big bottles of Kingfisher or Cobra lager on sale as well. But they don't take Amex for some reason.

Good takeaway food and an above average local Indian place. I wouldn't travel across London for it, but we enjoyed it and will likely eat there again. I went in and ordered takeaway in person. The front of house man was very nice and kept checking he couldn't do anything more for me. Two people, food only, was about £30. Main dish servings are not huge, but we had more than enough food with naans etc. Delivery is free within 3 miles (over some small spend level).

When visiting London from derby always stay in Islington and without fail always use this restaurant.Had their quacky duck masala this time and it was totally delicious.Will be visiting again next time we are back in Islington

Ordered a paneer shashlik, one of my favourite starters. It was the worst I've ever had. Couldn't taste the spices and it was burnt. Everything has charcoal on it: the cheese and the vegetables. The main was nice though hence 3 stars overall

Indian food is at the top of the list when it comes to a night out for dinner. We had been in London for nearly a week and had started to wonder if the supposed plethora of Indian Restaurants was a fabrication... perhaps we were in the wrong neighbourhoods, then we chanced on the Bombay Lounge. 👍👍👍👍👍😀😀😀😀😀... delicious, some of the best we've ever had. The Cobra beer was a perfect accompaniment too.

We found out about The Bombay Lounge from a desk person at the Double Tree Hilton down the street from it. It was the best meal we had on our 10 day trip through Europe. It was clean, small and reasonably priced. We tried a lot of dishes and enjoyed each one so much. I wish we were still there because that is where we would eat tonight.

We have had a wonderful family dinner at this restaurant after an act of kindness by the staff brought the restaurant to our attention. What a fantastic help the staff were too when we arrived and were unable to access our accommodation smoothly late on a Sunday evening. They even assisted with a case and finding our accommodation when they spotted our family with a child jet lagged and in tears. Who does that sort of thing these days? The menu offered is very reasonably priced and varied. Mild, spicy, child and vegetarian options too. Highlights included the generous silver tray with pots of each element for the adult special menu and the gorgeous mango ice cream presented in adorable bird shaped dish to end the kids meal. We will be back.

Avons découvert ce restaurant indien situé entre Saint Pancras et Angel par hasard. Une très bonne pioche !!! Mes parents non habitués à la cuisine indienne ont adoré !!! Idem pour nous !!! Décor minimaliste mais accueil très sympa et grande diversité de plats. Si vous cherchez un décor boboisé, passez votre chemin, mais si vous voulez passer un très bon moment dans un VRAI restaurant indien, ne cherchez plus... Nous reviendrons, definitely !!!

Popped in last night, ordered Chicken Tikka (Main) and pillaw rice to take away. £10.60 for 7 (not big) pieces of chicken tikka which comes to over £1 per small chunk. Sad small salad (free) thrown into a small sweaty plastic bag, no onion/peppers with the tikka (as with most other places). Got home, ate it and was still hungry. First and last time at this place. Buyer beware (Caveat emptor)

I popped in one evening after work. looking at the menu I was a little unsure of what to order. I am the most awkward person in an Indian restaurant as I have an intolerance to coconut. It's not pretty. I asked the waiter, expecting that he'd go to the kitchen, what could someone order if they couldn't eat coconut. The gentleman surprised me and said well what kind of dish would you like mild, creamy spicy. I said something mild would be nice. He then asked if I could have any other nuts or was it just coconut. I told him I could have other nuts but not coconut. He suggested one of the house specialities. It was delicious! The service was attentive but not in your face the dishes were neatly presented and the waiter was extremely knowledgable. I would happily recommend them and I will return.

Food came after 1 hour and 40 min which is shocking for Thursday eve. Also chicken tikka was undercooked and chewy which if eaten could be dangerous. I ended up having rice and Bombay potatoes on their ie which wasn't what my meal meant to be. Didn't taste best either. Bad food, bad service.

After reading other reviews, I ordered, but was very disappointed. The Korma sauce was very thin and watery, the King prawn Korma was more "chopped up King prawns and at £10,45 was a rip off! Too much oil/ghee in the aloo sag, and I've never had mushroom bahji like it! Button mushrooms? The chicken tikka masala was sharp and tasted of lemons! All in all a waste of money had we been eating in, the food would defo of been sent back to the kitchen! Waste of money and will NOT be ordering from here again!

First impressions - gloomy and dark, smells of damp, one takeaway customer in there and nobody else. But the poppadoms were fine, the chicken rolls starter was good and the lamb Madras pretty good. Good pilau and peshwari naan too. Found a bit of tube in my lamb which I find really unpleasant, but the flavours were very good. Overall experience probably only a three. Without the damp smell and the tube it'd have been four.

The food was great. A bit slow on the service but they were very busy. The staff are lovely and made up for the slow service. I would recommend and definitely go back.

Been to the Bombay three times now, over a couple of years. The dhansak is amazing. Really great flavours. Perfect portion sizes. Open until midnight! It's always been very quiet when I've been, but it's usually very late. The proprietor is always very happy to accommodate, though.

As everyone says, it doesn't look much from the outside, and I wouldn't have gone in unless I'd seen the reviews first.The staff are really friendly and make you feel very welcome. The food was good on the whole, though beware of the Naga - it really is absolutely full of chopped up Naga chilli!Also extremely good value - £40 for 2 starters, 2 mains, a rice, a naan, 2 beers and including tip.

The price was reasonable and the staff were extremely friendly but I would not be eating here again.

Came across this restaurant while working in the area and was very pleased with the food, value and service. Had a three course evening meal with large mineral water for £21. The spicy food was actually spicy, but also had a lot of flavour. Small and homely inside. Would recommend trying if you are in the Pentonville road area. I'll definitely be back.

At 7:30 PM we phoned the restaurant as it had not arrived. They advised that it was on the way. We then looked at the JustEat website where it said it had already been delivered at 7:15 PM. We tried to discuss this with the person in the restaurant but they did not advise as to how this discrepancy had come about. I wonder if it works in the restaurants favour to report earlier delivery times...this was much longer than expected and we will think twice for ordering again, especially given the speed and reliability of other companies available.

We stumbled across this little gem tucked away by the Angel tube station and we will definitely be back. All of the food was delicious and the service was impeccable. We had been looking for a great, reasonably priced Indian restaurant we can take guests to and this is it. I only wish it was located closer to where we live!

Excellent place to eat an Indian meal, with friendly service and delicious food and at sensible pricing. Three of us ate here - main courses plus add-ons - poppadoms, pickle and a Naan bread and a bottle of wine for £60. The outside of the restaurant isn't by any stretch of the imagination flashy, but don't let that put you off, as the food is really good. Worth a visit!

My girlfriend discovered this little gem when browsing for something new to try out since she enjoys spicy food. I was sceptical at first but I worried for nothing. The place is near the Angel area on Penton street and doesn't look flashy. But the food is delicious and great value for the money. The service was very good as well and since discovering it, we returned a couple of times. Each time we tried something different and for someone who isn't crazy about Indian I must say this place is quite good.

We have only had takeaways so far so am looking forward to visiting the restaurant. I love Indian food and as a veggie it is perfect for me. The food always arrives hot. There's plenty of it for a meal next day. My partner eats meat and has tried various items off the menu all of which are great. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The price is very reasonable and there are various offers on at all times.

A good small neighbourhood restaurant, with friendly service from the owner and good food.They seem to have their own recipes though, so you should check when you place you order e.g. they serve palak paneer dry, cheese nans with very little cheese inside and tea massala without milk -which they bring on the side.Besides this, a friendly address for home-style Indian cooking.

Took over an hour to arrive, some food items were delicious some were worst I've ever had. A total hit or miss experience.

My wife and I used a ''Taste card'' to eat on a Friday eve, and the whole bill with a drink each was only £24 - included starter and main each plus poppadum's and pickles and a shared rice. The food was tasty and we really enjoyed it. The staff were friendly and attentive although we were the only ones there at first (7 pm) - a few others arrived in the hour or so we were eating and they appeared to have a few takeaway orders. There are a few ''balti'' dishes on the menu. The restaurant itself is fairly basic but seemed clean and tidy. I would go again.

My husband and I had never tried Indian food and were referred to the Bombay Lounge by the bartender at our nearby hotel. Not only was the food wonderful, the service and prices were excellent - we wouldn't have tried it without the referral and it would have been a huge mistake! We liked it so much we had dinner there again two days later and had the owner make recommendations after he found out what we like. A wonderful restaurant!

Je regrette peut être le trop peu de poulet. Dans tous les cas un bon rapport qualité prix. Le take away est possible et semble t il populaire . À conseiller sans hésitation !

What to say other than... Wow! I hadn't ordered a takeaway for a long time until one day I walked past the Bombay Lounge by chance and saw the TripAdvisor excellence sticker in the window! The man on the phone was really nice &amp; polite. The food arrived within 45mins. I could not believe my eyes when it came, the portions are huge. There was so much, I had leftovers for lunch the next day! I ordered the lamb korma, sag aloo &amp; pilau rice. Needless to say I've not cooked a curry since. I've ordered from there instead!

Bombay lounge is absolutely delicious and authentic food. We order in from them whenever we're craving a really spicy curry (they know us now so they make everything extra spicy for us). Haven't found anywhere else local that compares!

After being so highly impressed with the food at bombay lounge the first time round we decided to order from them again, the food was extremely oily, in particular the onion bhajis, also the taste of the food was not up to the standard of the previous time! I dont think I will be re ordering any time soon!

We were the only people in on a Sunday night. Service was friendly and efficient and the food was of a good standard. Reasonably priced as well. I would return.

The food was nice but it was SO cold because the driver took an hour and a half to get it to me and didn't apologise.

Away from the main street and looking empty we were dubious but with the place we planned to go closed and the rain falling we thought we would give it a try.....very pleased we did as the food was lovely. The service could do with improving, more staff might help as there is only one person serving and taking orders but we have been back and will go again

As a tourist awho came for a few days to London, I can very much say that I'll remember this restaurant as an excellent experience. The service was nice and welcoming, the food was an absolute delight, an every ingredient in every dish was done properly. I'll definitely recommend you to go there if you search for good Indian food with fair price in London.

Terrible. Bland tasting Jalfrezi. And they forgot some of our order!! Then when I complained, they just said they'll owe us next time!? There won't be a next time.
