Bombay Dreams in North Lanarkshire

Ordered a curry, rice and a naan for delivery on a Sunday (17:25) Still hasn’t arrived yet (19:00) Have phoned restaurant and been told ‘it’s out for delivery’. I know the food will be good when it arrives but over an hour and a half wait for delivery on a Sunday night is ridiculous.

My order was wrong, called the restaurant and spoke to a very apologetic member of staff who offered to put things right, I then got put onto another member of staff, who took the order and argued it was me that was wrong and that I could order the missing items and pay for them. Ended up going to another local takeaway to get the missing items instead. Won’t be back!To top it all off the lamb was tough, curry bland and rice greasy. Not at all worth the price.

14 of us at two tables. Food and drinks excellent. Service top notch. Waiters are great fun. Would recommend

Simply amazing food and at a great price. My mates and I were working up North and on our last night decided to get Indian. I ordered three mains, two rice, a naan for each friend, two for me, 6 papadoms, 6 pickles, fried cauliflower and holy moly we were surprised. The naans were delicious yet huge! The curry was so flavourful. The rice perfect. The pickle sides were so large we could have just ordered two for the three of us. I highly recommend this restaurant, but keep in mind, large portions.

It actually pains me to write this review as I have been a customer for many years. However recently I have had to order food which is gluten free and tonight I was given the wrong item. I phoned to query if the item was gluten free and was told that it “probably is”. Anyone with a food allergy will know this is not good enough. They arranged to replace the order and deliver it however the delivery driver wanted the original meal to return to the restaurant. After fishing it out of the bin I gave it back to him however I don’t think it was appropriate for the delivery driver to be handling my rejected food whilst delivering to other people during the current covid 19 pandemic and for that reason I will not be back.

Received Gift vouchers for Christmas, bought early December by my son. Restaurant closed due to Covid and that coupled with our shielding, we still have them. Now informed by a member of their staff that voucher will not be extended beyond 12th March so must buy takeaway, and more importantly NO CHANGE GIVEN out of £50. He actually thought it was acceptable to ask 2 people to spend this amount on one takeaway. Could the Management please comment?

Staff very friendly and pakora, main, nan & rice all delicious. Regular here along with family & friends, and doing great job during COVID. Highly recommend.

Worst Indian meal I have had in a long time, this place has really gone down hill in the last 6 months.Tandoori king prawns main meal, it was cold, 6 tiny rubber prawns, watery curry sauce, will not be going back.

we had a lovely family meal at bombay dreams, table of 6. The preperation they have put in for the new covid measures was really impressive. The food was fantastic and the service was top notch, always making sure we had everything we needed. I would recommend booking a meal here and meeting up with your loved ones post lockdown.

Never fail to deliver an amazing meal. After recently having two awful Indians that were inedible (one because we were on holiday and one because we had gift vouchers to use) I went to Bombay dreams for a take away. Lamb and chicken both cooked to perfection and very tender. Naan perfect doughy with crisp bits also and good piping hot. Safety measures also well implemented for collecting your meal. They should definitely be number 1 Indian in Cumbernauld.

Was so pleased to find out that the restaurant had reopened for takeaway only. Ordered and paid online using their version of click and collect which entailed the waiter bringing our takeaway meal right out to the car park and loading it into the open rear of the car to keep in line with the social distancing rules. The meal was well packaged and was still hot when we got it home. Family of four well fed with a restaurant style takeaway meal. 1st class and will definitely be back.

Our meal was very nice, hot freshly made. There are 2 waiters (twins) who can be a bit much, constantly interrupting.

Went with my mum, dad and 2 children and it was amazing. The staff were so friendly and great with the kids and the food was fantastic. We even got a doggy bag for our leftovers. Couldn’t recommend enough.

Yesterday night I ordered lamb curry. saag ghost and tarka dal. Chapati and tandoori roti . I requested tandoori roti to b crispy and well done . And I requested all food to b desi style n spicy . Food was not that much spicy Saag ghost and dal was amazing . Lamb curry was average . Only bad thing was chapati n roti was so thik and Was not cooked properly . But I ll recommend and defiantly order next times ❤️

Had a meal with another couple of friends in this indian restuarant. It was my first visit to this place and I am sure it wont be my last. We had booked for 6.30pm and the table was ready on tome. Drinks were served immediately and we had poppadoms while we perused the extensive menu. There were dishes I had never seen before and everything was reasonably priced. The starters were huge portions and well presented as were the main courses. The peshwari nan was fabulous. The waiters were attentive but not at all bothersome. At no time did we feel time pressured and spent over 3 hours having our meal. We all thoroughly enjoyed our visit and the great food.

So came here after being told so many things how good it was, lamb tikka was overcooked and tandoori prawn consisted of 8 x tiny overcooked prawns, staff were brilliant polite and very attentive but the food let the place down

Family gathering - 20 of us! We congregate at the Bombay Dreams once or twice a year - from far afield - and have never had a bad meal.You'll find the usual British Indian Restaurant (BIR) standards but there's so much more. I'd thoroughly recommend any of the Tawa's but take your pick. This is one of the best Indian restaurants I've been to - certainly the best in Scotland. Such friendly service and very reasonably priced too. If you're in Cumbernauld, this restaurant is a must!

Visited for my dads birthday dinner. Restaurant is nicely decorated and a really good size. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Choose takeaway and dropped in to get it on a Saturday evening. Absolutely choc-a-bloc for takeaways (which shows you how good they are!) But we did seem to wait longer than everyone else but do appreciate how busy it was. Food as always was excellent!

Yet again my son and I went for an meal at Bombay Dreams in Cumbernauld.

This is one of the Best Indian restaurants we've been in by a country mile. We started of with the mixed pakora platter for two. It was delicious, especially the lamb tika. For the main we got a chicken & lamb mixed special, heaven. We will definitely be back to this place

We have been customers of this restaurant for many years with very little to complain about until recently. However the last few takeaway meals have been quite obviously reduced in portion size . The salad is half the size it used to be, the rice and main dish which used to fill the foil containers now only fill half the container and the tikka starter portions are smaller as well. The food in this restaurant is not cheap but in the past you were always guaranteed a generous portion of everything. Not any more by looks of things. Think if this issue is not addressed quickly, bombay dreams will lose a lot of loyal customers.

I unfortunately feel the need to put on an honest disappointing review. We were passing through Cumbernauld on the way back from Fife. Googling Indian takeaways in Cumbernauld this place came up with lots of good reviews. The restaurant looked nice, the staff were friendly. We ordered 2 kids meals, chicken tikka, and a chicken korma (which doesn’t even come with rice so not actually a meal), a regular chicken Patia and chicken tikka garam masala ,1 fried rice and a garlic nan. No starter not even poppadoms or spiced onions, only 1 rice remember and it was £35 for a small takeaway !!Was shocked at the price for all we ordered. I’d usually pay about £20 for that which would include starters. Anyway, having read lots of good reviews and the fact it was very expensive and (best curry 2 years ago award too) I was optimistic on the way home and starving. Sorry to say it was dire. My wife’s Patia was watery and tasted mostly of tomato ketchup and vinegar. Patia isn’t usually my kind of thing anyway but this was awful. The garam masala was non descript, just very bland. My son didn’t like his chicken tikka. I have been eating Indian food since I was 5 years old and now in my 40s so I know a good curry. Anyway best of luck to them, lots of others seem to like that sort of thing.

Oh my goodness, I can’t praise this place enough. We had a fabulous meal, service was excellent, couldn’t fault a thing. I had the chicken tikka masala with fresh cream and it was beautiful. Paul had the chicken punjabi masala, it was excellent. Hopefully it won’t be too long before we return.

I suffer from a severe nut allergy and trying to find a restaurant that understands my allergy is hard.

I love going here for an evening out. . The food is great, the service is friendly and attentive and the place has a nice, comfortable atmosphere.

What can I say, Bombay Dream is quite literally a dream of a place. We love our curries and this has to be one of the best we have been to. The poppadoms were lovely and crisp. The pakaro was absolutely mouthwatering. I got a chicken tika currie and the chicken was beautiful. My wife got a lamb dish and the lamb just melts in your mouth. The price is reasonable. The staff are very attentive, especially one of the twins (he'll know who we are, Mr Punk ha ha). I would really recommend this place and we will definitely be back.

I have been eating in Bombay Dreams fot years now, but haven't submitted a review. Latest visit was for the buffet, which is on a Monday and Wednesday. Food was great, good selection of starters and currys. Rice is brought fresh to the table. The best thing about the place though is the service. There are 3 guys in particular, the older guy with the glasses and 2 guys that I think are brothers. Everytime I am here they speak to me like were old pals. The older guy (i need to remember and ask his name) is great for giving recommendations from the menu and is always full of chat. I have eaten at a lot of restaurants, and never had better service. Keep up the good work!

I have visited Bombay Dreams on numerous occasions and I have always been impressed by the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff.

Decided to get a take away for Mother's Day as its always a lovely meal from here. Ordered Tandoori Mix main meal and advised that due to allergies we wanted no prawn or mushrooms. Came to pick order up. Got home put it out on plate. What looked like tandoori chicken was disgusting it was rubbery and tasted still raw. Curry sauce which I had put on my dinner was so spicy I couldn't eat it. Phoned to complain to be told our order had been mixed up with another order. They would cook fresh meal but collect would be 15 mins or delivery 45mins so I went down to collect it. Manager apologised however advised me the rubbery chicken was in actual fact king prawn.....shock my husband has allergy to that and ate a bit. They gave us free chicken pakora to apologize but never ate it as that meal is big enough. Anyway got home and curry sauce still spicy and naan bread was burnt so phoned to complain again. Given credit for naan bread and told curry sauce always like that and to ask for milder next time. (Chefs have obviously changed it since last time cos it normally is just curry sauce not overly spicy). Was so disappointed as was really looking forward to it. Don't think will get a take away again.

Since my last review of Bombay Dreams I have ordered online on a number of occasions, however the place has gone downhill the last few times. Decided to give it another try tonight and paid £25 for a takeaway. When I eventually received it I headed home, only about a 10 minute drive. When I got home there was no naan bread or pakora sauce. The pakora was stone cold, not even a bit of warmth in it and it looked as if it had been reheated about 3 times. I paid £14.95 for the “Specialty Tandoori Prawn” which was 5 prawns in curry sauce. Very very poor!!!

Went after staying away for a couple of years. First impression was that nothing had changed but the music.. Been three times and every time Blondies greatest hits was Blaring out at a high volume , not exactly a usual good standard Indian restaurant typical music. Also on my three Saturday night visits place was half empty whilst in the past you had to book as it was always full. No Cobra or Kingfisher on draught only bottles. Not as many staff now either. Food still ok but please change the music and let customers eat in peace with no overpowering music.

ive not used bombay dreams for a few years because i like a madras curry, and the last few times my curry has not been madras, decided to give it another try on saturday 2/02/19, disapointed again, as the curry i asked for was not madras,

In on saturday night and had one of the best nights out for a while.Good food, excellent staff and peace and quiet in lounge area after our meal.Will definately be back very soon.

We travel for 30 minutes and pass numerous Indian restaurants to come here! It’s easily the best Indian food we’ve ever had.

Visiting family just after New Year decided to forgo home cooking and dine out their choice and very lovely it was too, made a booking unsure how busy after seven sit down only ten min from their home, doesn't have a great kerb presence but more than makes up for that when you enter lots of nice lighting and mirror`s nice decor a little quieter than expected but very attentive staff a nice booth allocated and drinks order taken, a nice menu choice with some favourites and some new dishes on offer being a little hungry decided to stick to well known standards Pakoras, Onion Bhaji,Garlic Prawns and Chicken Chaat for starters all excellent and delicious Followed by Chicken Dansac,Rogan Josh ,Chicken Tikka Masala and Jalfrezi with Plain Nan Bread and Aloo Gobi side all delicious and beautifully tender and presented with drinks a very pleasant evening for us all ,i was very impressed with the food and staff and will look forward to a return visit many thanks ...

What a fantastic meal. Authentic curry night

I usually order and collect carry outs from Bombay Dreams and I've never been disappointed. My family use the restaurant for birthdays etc and the staff are always very friendly. The food is excellent whether eating in or at home. Buffet nights are good value if sitting in.

The delivery took 1 hour and 15 minutes, much later than originally quoted. We ordered chicken methi and chicken jalfrezi. Both dishes did not taste like the meals that we'd ordered and were not nice. The rice was cold, the naan bread was like hard cardboard but the popadoms were ok. I would not recommend this Indian.

Was debating with my partner for ages tonight deciding where to go for a chicken tikka curry. Problem is every time I get this type of curry to take away it’s not up to the same standards as if you where sitting in a restaurant. So glad I tried here, service was excellent, food was prepared quickly (which worried me), the food was excellent. There was actually enough for 2 of us to share!

recent food has been a lot poorer than it used to be and changes regarding take out meals mean it is now more expensive , so all in all nowhere near ad good as it used to be .

We dropped in for dinner on Saturday evening after returning from Glasgow, food is always of a good standard and service friendly and efficient however on Saturday efficient went to a new level. We were given our menus and gave our drink orders, when that particular waiter left the table another approached said hello and asked for our order, we explained we had just received the menus so he asked for our order for starters which was chicken pakora, he left and arrived back with the starters as the drinks order arrived and then proceeded to take our main course order as our starters sat on the table. No complaints with the food, all good.

I have and until last night been a loyal customer of this Restaurant, we always have a weekly takeaway and dine in on special occasions, as Monday night was my Husbands birthday , we went down for the buffet, the party was 4 Adults and my two grandchildren age 4 and 8 , I had just left McDonalds with the children and then went down for our dinner, the 4 year old had NOTHING to eat , and watched her Ipad quietly, the 8 year old , who has learning difficulties asked if she could have a piece of pashwari nan, which her granddad gave her,then she later ate some of her granddads fruit cocktail, which we didnt give a second thought to , until we recieved the Bill, We were charged for 2 kids buffets and my daughter went to clarify the mistake , only to be told that we hadnt told them the kids we not eating , which they could already tell us what our child ate , so out of goodwill they said we would have to pay for one child @ £7.95 which was the most expensive piece of nan and mouthful of fruit cocktail we will ever purchase. Our bill came to £ 77 which was no problem , but as greed has clearly taken over , we will not back,

Family dinner to celebrate my birthday and from the moment we arrived till we left we had a great night and I would like to thank all the staff for that.as soon as we arrived we were shown to our booth (yes the one with the birthday signs, and me a shy lad looking for a quiet night)and made very welcome, the knowledge of what was on offer was so good that someone in the group was looking to try something new a d after a short discussion with Naz on what they liked they took his recommendation and they loved it the food all through the night was very tasty and we'll prepared and the service was great.

Overpriced for a bland Indian buffet. Disappointed that you don't get to pick youf own starters, they are delivered to your table by your waiter, how could he possibly know what I like or dislike? As for the main courses,, they were bland, lacking spices and not particularly warm. On this basis, I would never go back. Perhaps the a la carte menu would have been a better choice?

We live in Winchester but visit Scotland to visit family, priority one is a visit to Bombay Dreams, the best Indian restaurant we’ve ever visited. We visited twice this week and both times the food and service were amazing. The staff are such fun especially the twins(triplets!) sharp and quick witted they certainly add to our experience. The menu is extensive and we have never had a bad meal. The mixed platter starter is a must! Can’t wait for our next visit to Scotland for another Bombay dreams experience.

i was kind of tired and could not be bothered cooking, i just wanted to enjoy a meal in silence and gather my thoughts before returning work after a holiday. The restaraunt seemed nice enough but the waiter would not stop talking to me, i actually felt as if he was worried that i might not pay. I am a female on my own and just wanted some me time. I eventually gulped down the main course paid and left and i won't be back. Why should i be made to feel anti social??. The food was ok . but nothing exceptional

Went here to surprise my Wife for our anniversary and it didn't disappoint, staff were excellent and it was the best Indian food I've ever had, will certainly be going back and a big thank you to the staff they even put a Happy Anniversary banner up although I had just booked the table a couple of hours before hand and good prices as well thanks again for a great night.

My husband and I found this place on trip advisor as we were in the area. We had an amazing meal and would definitely go back if we found ourselves in the area again.

Service is great even when ordering a takeaway.

Would have given a five star rating for the food, which was delicious and had a thumbs up from all of our group, however the constant interruption by the waiters was really frustrating! I know it is very important and good customer service, to check customers are satisfied with their food, but to constantly ask every 2 minutes(if it even was 2 minutes!) was really annoying.

We celebrated our son’s birthday here in August, there was eight of us, including a 3 yr old, fantastic service, delicious meal, it’s no wonder they won best Indian Restaurant in Scotland, would definitely recommend without hesitation, going back for my Birthdayin a couple of weeks, in the meantime have had loads of home deliveries from them,

We decided to have a change from our local Indian restaurant and tried out Bombay Dreams last night. It’s not the most attractive building or location but once inside it’s very different. It was warm on a cold night and very clean. You were warmly greeted at the door too. Service was prompt. Pakora was freshly fried. Meat was very tender. I’d certainly go again.

Title says it all really. Myself and a friend dined here. Food was ok but waiter interrupted our conversation to ask if everything was ok, we politely replied yes all good thanks. 5 mins later another waiter asking the same. Again we replied yes all good thanks. After another 10 mins original waiter asks again! You wont believe this but 5 courtesy checks and on the fifth one I blew! 'Please go away and leave us peace to have our meal!' The waiter scowled at me as if I was in the wrong. They were trying to hurry us up even though it was a weekend and 8.45pm booking which we arrived 10 mins early for. When my friend went to the toilet i politely tried to speak to the one of the offending waiters to ask him to explain coming to the table 5 times! He ignored me (wish he'd done this earlier) and was in a huff... amateurs pretending they know customer service.. We spent £50 between drinks and food for a quiet table of two but got utter harassment. No apology on the way out. You will never see my business again. I'm a small restaurant owner and a stickler for courtesy checks but this was insane! Arrogant annoying waiters ruining decent Food...

Went for a family meal there last night as we hadn't been for over a year. I am pleased to say that it was as good as we remembered so we were not disappointed. Food was superb and the staff could not have been more friendly. Prices are reasonable too. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be going back.

We have eaten here a few times and never been disappointed. The service is second to none and the food excellent (for some reason it is much better than their carryout food which is still very good).

We always get carry out meals from this restaurant but have sat in for a meal on many occasions. The staff are always very pleasant but it is the food that is the best part. I would recommend Chicken Pakora, the chef's platter, veg pakora, chicken tikka main meal and chicken tikka masala medium. Always well looked after any time we are there. Waiters are friendly and get to know your name as you visit regularly.

I remember seeing the building being converted to restaurant and thinking what a good idea. Little did I know all these years later it would still be in business, with the same great food and staff. The staff make this restaurant, always happy to see you return. I pass several Indians to eat here. The menu and restaurant has been tweeked over the years but always good food and great service. Top marks to Bombay Dreams again for a lovely meal. As ever the food was lovely and the staff were very attentive and friendly. We always have a lovely relaxing night in Bombay Dreams. Staff area always welcoming, friendly and attentive.

Visited last night for the buffet and was very impressed.The starters were great and a good selection, same with the main courses, loved their chasni.Surprisingly good selection of deserts as well Service was fast and friendly Total cost was £30 for two people for all 3 courses including several rounds of drinks which I think was really good value

Had an excellent meal last night for a family birthday. The staff were more than happy for us to put some decorations around the table and to hand out a birthday cake at the end - even encouraging the rest of the restaurant to join in a rendition of happy birthday to a suitably mortified / chuffed birthday boy!Very attentive service and delicious food too. I recommend the Garlic Naan!
