Very bad wrapping the food was leaking and the taste of the food is awful I never had a sweet chicken biryani

I like the idea of themed restaurants and this one with its Indian Railways theme, complete with a running toy diesel train engine running on tracks above our heads is such a novelty in Harrow that is unmistakably unique. The rest rooms are also themed as train toilets and there are imitation luggage boxes and even the standard aluminium kettle tea pot stacked somewhere among other beautiful train models. And the food? It is excellent and does remind one of Mumbai! Well done can’t wait to go back and

Edited next day after reply from restaurant to clarify. This IS the restaurant my friend visited a few months back as she wanted to treat her family. She has lived locally to your restaurant for 40 years. She cannot do a review as she does not know how but I did it with her permission. Still wouldnt go back. Food was fine but service was abysmal and they felt rushed and unwanted.

We had our event at Bombay central in August after we got married and they were exceptional. We were being handled by Ana and she was absolutely amazing from the booking process to the end. Ana made sure everything was okay and also ensured our non onion and garlic guests were looked after. Parth was the man main behind the bar that night serving. He did a fabulous job with everyone's needs. He was smiley and friendly and could not fault him in any way. Everyone loved the food and the standard of the food did not slip when making in quantity. It's a shame to see the restaurant is currently temporarily closed and I do hope it opens again soon as this is one of our favourite places.

Dont even want to give 1 start to this place .The food was really horrible,ordered a egg curry at this place it was really really blunt ,had zero taste .Everything was so bad they didn’t even ask water ,staff was so not welcoming.when the issue was raised to the manager he was so rude as if hes giving food for free.Please Do not go to this place if u want to eat authentic indian .This nothing even close to that 🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮

Booked a party for 14 people for birthday dinner. Amazing service, atmosphere and food. So flavourful and moreish, take your pick of any dish you wont be disappointed. We were served by Ruchi and she was very nice and delivered great service, did not disappoint.

Starters were great ordered the chilli mogo paneer and sweetcorn with a mixed grill. Unfortunately when the mains came we found chewing gum in our rice! Absolutely disgusting and put us off completely. Horrible end to what started off as a lovely evening out with the family.

Extremely polite service, food was at our table in less than 3 minutes after ordering too. Great decor and vibe too, would definitely recommend to fans of delicious Indian cuisine as well as a welcoming restaurant! :)

Ambience is really nice but food is not good at all. We ordered chicken reshmi kebab it was pathetic feeling like I was eating boiled chicken. All the items we ordered was not at all satisfying.

Very different kind of a restaurant theamed on mumbai essence... blown away with the ambiance... The food was ok ... didn't get blown away. The beer ordered was not there ... the lamb chops were burnt , however they replced it The fish amritsari was not a disappointment and papdi chat was good They charge gratuity without asking ... hence we chose not to pay ... i felt that was a little uncalled for ... in all ... not a bad place to go one time Food could be a bit more flavourful

Used to be a nice place to eat....in summary: Nice decor, average food and poor management. Bad attitude filters down to the waiting staff. Bad manners and poorly trained staff ruin what could actually be a really good successful venue. Staff very unattentive. Food is very hit and miss. Probably wouldn't return unless I was desperate to eat. Certainly wouldn't recommend anymore.

Food was great but what wasn’t was the service! I booked a table with my family on Friday evening and not even half hour of being sat at table we were told we need to leave by 8:15 (bearing in mind I was never told we had a short time limit) again 10 mins later we were asked if we wanted mains straight away when we had only just got our starters. After ordering our mains we were then told if we didn’t mind cancelling the mains as they really needed the table. We still had over an hour left and were basically told to go. It’s understandable to have a time limit on a weekend but to keep pestering paying customers 4 times to finish their food is not right. We didn’t even bother ordering mains and got the bill early as did not enjoy the atmosphere. Would not recommend on this basis that’s for sure!

Visited here for the first time and we made use of the private room to the lower ground floor. The place has its own bar which is great because it enabled the event (50 guests) to be contained in one area. The seat were comfortable and the space was substantial for our function. The decor, colour schemes, details, vibes and ambience are brilliant. The venue has a huge seating area upstairs and also has outdoor seating to the front and the rear or the building as well as also hosting sports on the big screen too! The food we ordered was delicious, tasty, flavoursome and full of spice!! Staff were very helpful and friendly and helped to make the event very relaxing. Parking on some of the nearby roads is free, whilst others are permit controlled, so do pay close attention to signage.

I attended a networking event in the basement. It was very well organised but the doors are not noise proof which affected the concentration levels.

Updated review as of 12/03/2022 - Had a very very lovely night and Rishi was true to his word. Staff were brilliant as was the food. Thank you for a great night out. Update as of 23/01/2022 - Rishi an absolute gentlemen, has invited us back to the restaurant and provided an apology. Will update the review after the next visit which hopefully will be 5 stars .

All I can say is wow! So so impressed with Sonali who managed to fit us in on a busy Saturday evening. We only ordered starters as the portion size was more than we expected and therefore had no room for mains. But the flavours and textures were all superb - in particular the chilli paneer and masala mogo were amazing. Will definitely be adding this gem of a place to my list of restaurants to go to!

As always the service and the food at Bombay Central has been amazing. Thank you to Sonali & Diggy (the host and hostess), our amazing waitress Ruchi, and to the entire team who are always so accommodating and friendly, even though we were a walk in on a busy night! When visiting be sure to try their masala lassi and their meat alternatives- they’re doing some creative dishes!

As always the food here is delicious, lots of great options and the food packs lots of flavour. We came on a Sunday and the vibe was spot on! The team here are really friendly and helpful, big shout out to Anna and Sonali who took care of us today. Also their crispy corn is by far the best I’ve tasted!! We look forward to coming back soon

Had high tea at Bombay Central. It was for £20.00 per person with bottomless masala tea. However, there is only one type of masala tea that is with sugar and for myself who does not take any sugar in her tea this was very disappointing and also say if a person is diabetic than what. Also I found the food to be very bland for an indian restaurant and definitely not worth £20, in addition the man who seemed like an assistant manager was very rude. I also asked for spicy chutney which they did not have!

Very very mediocre. Mixed grill didnt even come out sizzling at all, onions uncooked and were just swimming in some watery soup at the end. Fish curry, absolutely awful, tasted a few days old you could literally see a film on top. Dont know how this place got so manu good reviews. Only thing that was OK was the ambience thats about it.

Food was amazing!! Ana was so lovely throughout our meal. So helpful and always happy to help. Diggy the manager also was very helpful and always was ensuring we were well looked after. The service was immaculate even though it was a super busy Friday! Will definitely be coming back here again. My second visit in less than a month as I had my baby shower her too with afternoon tea and I can’t fault the service! Thank you team Bombay Central

All food taste's freshly cooked with good ingredients. great food, tastes very good and cannot complain of excessive oil. I recommend the Mushroom Starter & Chicken Lollipop (both nice & crispy), Methi Chicken and Tandoori Roti.

I really enjoyed the food here, it's also got a lovely ambience in the restaurant and the waiters are very attentive. Came here with friends and family and had a very enjoyable experience. I really enjoyed the starters and mains (too many good ones, I have the impression that the food here in general is of a decent standard).

Bombay central is one of my all time favourites. Sonali, who attended to us was exceptional and made out evening special. She took super care of us and ensured all was brilliant. The customer service is excellent at Bombay Central. The staff are friendly, quick and efficient, a special shout out to Sonali and the Manager (whose name I didn't get) for making my brother and I's birthday dinner special. The food is delicious and I would definitely recommend people visit this restaurant.

Drove 2 hours to this restaurant with our children and arrived at 6.30pm. The restaurant was at 20% capacity and virtually empty. A rude lady advised ‘bookings only’ and a total disregard for the 2 hour journey we had made and hungry children. Will not certainly be attending this restaurant ever again. The lady was arrogant and had zero empathy considering the restaurant was virtually empty. Rude and arrogant experience

The worst service of this restaurant food test is not good… Quality and quantity are also not good as I expected… Most of the items they use frozen… Paneer are not crispy as much… Honestly don’t go to this restaurant 🤬

Good Ambience, Authentic Indian restaurant with delicious food.

Generally good food, atmosphere with usually friendly managers (we're before?) & accomodating staff that is before they all left ! (See below : 6.2.22 & 12. 2.22!). Review updated below after today's (30.8.20 & after) visit. Excellent. However some big headed staff probably encouraged by those who should know better tend to argue with customers , get the orders mixed up , keep them waiting for even simple things like a glass of water & then start arguing with the customer & often add service charge on a takeaway meal!Ridiculous. These members of staff need dealing with especially when they start piling rubbish from the table onto your plate while you are still eating! The management need to get the spelling on their Indian sineage corrected as it has been painted in incorrectly! Says something! Good music can even be heard downstairs in the restrooms & of course the dining area. Very enjoyable. The ambience is what distinguishes it from the rest. Seems diners unable to control their faculties end up making a mess of the restaurant toilet to probably create a homely atmosphere! Some even can't hold their drink & throw up in the urinals, disgusting! While some diners take to leaving the toilet seats covered with toilet paper which they have previously lowered themselves on & leave them there for the next user of the cubicle to deal with! Awful sight! & that too when some of the dishes have become bland & lack a spicy taste unless the management are on an economy drive & saving on the cost of buying spices? There has now been a revival of the very tasty food from the kitchen with extremely helpful & friendly staff like Raj , Seldrin , Domingo & Nish . The music & buzz is exhilarating. Today's (30.8.20) dining experience was excellent with helpful friendly staff & with a model train whizzing around & hooting overhead while expecting the passengers to keep it & the surrounding areas & especially the toilets down the stairs clean. Operating a car wash facility (cash flow?) in the already tight car park is not a good idea as diners are unable to park in any available space & could lead to collisions! 14.8.21 Breaking out of 🔐 lockdown & exciting the taste buds with delicious lamb chops , lamb kohlapuri , peshwari naan & then washed down with the mojito, masala coke , rasamalai & mitha paan! Complimented by the ambient surroundings , throbbing sound of music & friendly staff of Saldrin , Nish , Jay, Dhiviti , Bala , Xavier & Sachin with Rishi managing & holding it all together admirably. Beware of the wildly arm waving desi diners (typical!) who will try & stop you from parking in the car 🚗 Park with soap 🧼 & water 💧 spraying around from the car wash as they want the space for themselves & want you to miss out on the dining experience 🍽 & hearing the whistling & whizzing around of the train circling around above under the watchful eyes of the pigeons! 6.2.22 The meltdown day with sanitiser dispenser machine empty & hardly anyone doing a temperature check or using hand sanitisers & the credit card machines were not working! Staff ran around looking confused. Even then, tasty food was served by friendly & helpful staff. However the car wash in the customer's parking area which leads to a dangerous situation when trying to enter & leave the restaurant car park especially when dark & needs to be addressed. 12.2.22 The booking system was in chaos with irate customers around & some leaving annoyed having been told to go elsewhere if they did not like it as there was no room for them at the inn! Staff were running around & confused with the orders & some were not even familiar with the menu either! Rishi was a credit & the food was tasty even though the WIFI system & the prevailing atmosphere seems to have seen better days after the staff members including the excellent manager who were there before have now left ! Hmm.. Seem to be getting big headed with attitude problem & lacking people skills!

An amazing experience from start to finish. The service we received at the restaurant was second to none. The food was as good as it gets and the portion sizes were very generous! Will definitely be returning, and introducing friends and family to this restaurant. Would suggest booking ahead as it gets very busy.

If You are looking out for a Indian cuisine restaurant in the Vicinity, this is a place you should definitely visit. It has a lot of variety of food including the starters, the chaats and main course is also really good. In the dessert section don't miss on the Malai Kulfi! The Ambience is one to look for, they have a couple of Mumbai style Rickshaws standing outside. The interior will give you a feel of sitting in Mumbai with the toy train running along the roof, with few named Mumbai local stations. This will definitely take you to a Nostalgic ride to Amchi Mumbai!! All in all worth a place to visit 👍🏻

We went to Bombay Central for my MIL birthday, our group had a range of ages from Teens to 80+. The Food, deco and atmosphere was loved by all. We went for the High Chai option with a few items from the A La Carte menu, portion sizes were good with more then enough food to go around and for a doggie bag...and the Chai was as good, if not better then I'd heard! Staff were all very friendly and accommodating, We will def be re-visiting very soon (want to try out the cocktails which looked amazing)

I remember this venue when it was the red lion pub. Wow what a transformation. Excellent decor. Excellent service. Excellent ambience. Excellent food. This will be my go to Indian restaurant in north london. I will travel all the way from Southgate to eat here.

One of the worst experiences I’ve ever encountered. I’ve booked and confirmed but this gentlemen at the front desk was so rude and he turned us away! There was plenty of free tables but he honestly just didn’t care! This is the second time after giving it another chance! I’m honestly very disappointed after I was coming to celebrate my brothers birthday. Very very sad.

Had a fantastic birthday celebration at Bombay Central! The food was delicious, with the mild and vegan options there was something for everyone. We loved the decor and the inspiration taken from the authentic railway stations in Mumbai. I am really looking forward to my next dinner at Bombay Central, I will be back soon !

Nice ambience, good service and above average food

I was left with full of disappointment as I walk out the door with my colleague when the floor manager manager ask me 5 times that the table I was seated by them that had been book for 730pm when I already have booked the table from 630pm-830pm for 4 guest. I was first seated at earlier time at approximately 618pm then I got approached at 628pm before my seating that the table has been booked, as I looked around as it was the place as it’s half empty. I couldn’t understand why the table was booked for 730pm whilst present. Many times I was approached with no kindness or explanation on why, what reason as they want the table. Am I a paying customer? Am I different? Am I been victimised? I don’t know the reason on how half empty restaurant wants my table without any given option. I was devastates and embarrass to my colleague. Those 2 managers perhaps needs there position to be vacant soon.

Really enjoyable family lunch. Food was fantastic and Ana looked after us so well during the visit Ana is a real treasure and deserves an immediate pay rise

Certainly a destination venue! I’ve been to BC a fair few time’s recently; it is safe to say it’s almost like my 2nd living room. But that’s a testament to the incredible atmosphere and hospitality every time I go! Whether you want an evening out dressed in heels, or a casual lunch / brunch in trainers, everytime, you’ll notice a vibe to match yours. As the journey for us starts from the moment you drive into the car park right through to paying your bill, I’m so impressed with the attention to detail around all areas of the restaurant. With a vibrant buzzing mood and the Bombay train theme running throughout, you’ll defo forget where you actually are. Hospitality: never faulted. Every member of staff is incredibly friendly and always checking to see if we need anything. My guests always feel they’re well looked after and to top it off, the owners of the joint are so humble and so kind. They always have time to have a chat and make you feel welcome. The food is delicious, bursting with lots of flavour. With a lot of Indian restaurants, half of the starters taste the same. With this one, every dish tastes different. The menu variety is huge and in addition, they have special menus for specific food intolerances - my brother was so so grateful!! And as I have been way too many times lately, I have so much more choice to try every time I go. If you want a drink, we were in awe at the extensive number of every type of alcohol you could think of!! The cocktails are delicious and you can see the innovation in the signature ones along with the flying train and the train track on the ceiling of the beer garden. Since covid, it’s one of the safer places I feel, with deep cleaning, hand sanitising, the filtration system and temperature checks, along with the 2m mind the gap markings! #ThemedSafety Thank you BC for all the efforts you’ve put in so far and look forward to seeing you again soon. I had a fantastic evening. Food was great and the flavors on point. I have been to a few Indian restaurants and their flavors have been somewhat hit and miss, but these guys really know what they are doing. Service was fairly prompt for a busy Friday night.

I've been going here for years and I love this restaurant. The service is always good, the portions are large and the prices are great. The food is delicious and the decor is wonderful - especially at Christmas! Great for vegetarians, I got chilli paneer, samosa chaat, crisp bhajiya and garlic naan. The food also came quick.

I can't believe how bad it was! The worst Indian takeaway I've ever ordered in my life (and I've ordered a lot of bad Indian food in the US). The food was absolutely flavourless. The saag paneer had no gravy. The kolhapuri was just some red goop. And it had potatoes (sacrilege). You could tell the vegetable curries were just frozen vegetables thrown into a sauce. The paneer makhanwala which is meant to be paneer in a cream sauce was in a watery puddle. Im appalled. Oh and they forgot to send us the chicken tikka, which on hindsight was probably a good thing. This was a £60 order. What a mess.
