I was served by a girl in a hijab. She really took her time to give me any attention at all. I felt like I was bothering her. The hijab was covering her ears and she couldn't hear well as a result. She kept asking the same question over and over again while annoyed that she couldn't hear. While she was preparing the burrito she had to lean over to reach the ingredients and the hijab that was hanging at the front down to her waist was getting into the food. She was also quite large in size and her t-shirt was touching the food as well... She didn't seem like she could be bothered to avoid this. She had a displeased expression on her face. You can imagine where that hanging hijab has been before it gets into your food...Eventually I told her that I would like to eat in and she put the burrito into a small plastic basket and handed it over to me. When I took it out to eat there was oil residue in the basket which clearly was not from my burrito because it was still wrapped and there was no oil leaking out of it. The basket had not been washed from the last user.It was an overall disgusting experience as it would seem that hygiene is a problem here. The previous time I was there I had to eat with a large dog sitting right behind me. I thought that disgusting experience was a one-off but apparently not.The front door of the store is often kept open and it is cold and unwelcoming inside. My table was also repeatedly hit by deliveroo bikes that were coming inside.An overall negative experience and I will not be back.

A must try! Live or work in the area and want the best takeaway of your life? Visiting for a quick weekend and want a delicious off the beaten path hidden gem of a local treat?! Bombay burrito is the best. It’s creative and fun and delicious and quirky quick. Its a flavour explosion with amazing value and generous portions. Would highly recommend.

Great curry bowls, very good size and delicious. They are a bit more expensive than other restaurants but we had to order from other places during the lockdown and this is one is always the best.

I thoroughly enjoyed my burrito - it was filling, tasty and comforting. There was a great selection on the menu - with lots of vegetarian and vegan options. I tried the lentil and spinach fritters which were yummy. I would definitely eat here again!

Indian food burritos are a new concept to me so I can't really compare it to similar restaurants but I thought they were delicious.

Ordered a chocolate brownie for delivery and the portion size was good and looked lovely, however it must have been stored close to where the curry is either stored or cooked as what seemed like a lovely taste was overpowered by the strong smell of curry.

I lived in London for a year and just came back for my first visit in three years. This was one of the first places I wanted to go back to. Their burritos are delicious!!! Still just as good after three years. Highly recommend!

Came here for the first time today and got a regular burrito from the 'specials' menu which clearly stated all regulars were for £6.95. And yet I was billed £7.95 and told that the special I ordered costs a pound more - there was absolutely no indication of that on the menu - the server agreed as well and said it should be marked clearly - very disappointing.

Wonderful little find in Islington. Charming and devoted owners, fabulous selection of different Indian fillings and taste combinations to please every palate. And this Texas girl was shocked and excited to find they carry Dr. Pepper! What more could you want?

Mi amigo y yo vimos Bombay burrito ya que estábamos paseando por después de una conferencia. Como estudiantes de pauper, estábamos buscando algo rápido, sencillo y barato. Este lugar no es exactamente lo que necesitábamos. Las dos chicas detrás del mostrador era encantador. Mi amigo tenía el pollo Tikka burrito y yo tuvimos el Paneer Tikka burrito. Ellos eran abundantes y una muy buena idea. Creo que para mi burrito y bebida grande alrededor de £6 en Londres, que creo que es bastante barato. Me quedaría aquí de nuevo si estuviese en la zona.

We noticed this place on the way to a gig and decided to try it. My wife had the tikkatacos (mini burritos) and I had a single large one. The tandoori chicken xacuti was very tasty. I got their recommendations for toppings and it was all really good. I thought it would be a strange combination but it works well. Would definitely go back!

My husband and I went here for a quick dinner. It was very empty with only one person behind the counter. The burrito was large, however, was not very nice. The curry sauce was obviously bought in ready made and was just added to separately pre-cooked chicken, which was bland. The only saving grace was the fried onions. We will not be returning or recommending to others.

I've been in to Bombay Burrito about 6 times now, after work or after the gym, and each time I have been so happy with my meal. The concept is fantastic and burritos on offer are absolutely brilliant. The portions are massive, with very generous amounts of meat in each burrito (the chicken is always beautifully moist btw - really can't recommend enough) and loads of options for extras. Overall a really nice place to eat and a great alternative to a Friday night curry!

I popped into Bombay Burrito for lunch yesterday. I hadn't been for a while and I don't know why I left it so long - I had a delicious burrito. What I love about this place is their tasty food served generously and all for really good prices - such good value especially when compared to the other local lunch options which are all Islington London prices. I definitely recommend a trip and I will be returning soon!

I've been to Bombay Burrito four times - twice when in the area, twice through a big work order. Each time it's been absolutely great. Delicious Indian food in a burrito wrap - why hasn't anyone thought of that before?? Great value for money too.

Tried the place back in February during a business trip. Had their paneer burrito for lunch and all was fine until I got back to my hotel room after work. Got food poisoning and was out for the next 4 days. Stay away from this place at all costs. There som much better places around to grab lunch!

Interesting idea and I was sceptical but it works. I very much enjoyed by Indian burrito. Full of flavour and easy to eat. Service is a little slow but it is worth the wait. Plenty of places in Angel to buy a work lunch in Angel but this is definitely on my top 10.

Went for a lunch and was suprised to see this place empty at 1pm when the other mexican burrito places had queues out the door. The choice of fillings are so much better than the standard mexican beans and stuff! And spicier too. Paneer was excellent as were the salads, sauce and channa. Will be back at least once a week, especially as they have a loyalty card!!

We have Bombay Burritos delivered to our office and everyone loves them!I personally prefer them to the classical Mexican ones. Since we tried them, we have not had others! They are very tasty and the portion is also very good.Worth a try!

This was just a fun fast food place, at which we grabbed a late night sandwich on Halloween. Odd as it may seem, I suppose the fare was somewhat Indian tasting wrapped in a flour tortilla. The whole thing was quick, fun, tasty and inexpensive. The experience was different, but it reminded me of a place in which I ate some years ago in Michigan named "Carlos Murphy's" that featured a sort of Mex-Irish menu. What will we find next?

Was down in London for my 40th recently & a pal recommended his place (as his best man own's it!) & had been "big-in it up" for a while. Had an hour or so to kill before I checked into the hotel & was pretty hungry, so meandered down to see if was a good as I'd been led to believe...went for the Chicken Rogan Josh filling in the burrito, chips & as it's licensed a Cobra to wash it down...change from a £10 & decent quality food.Fair sized portions & good value for money, will deffo be back to this place next time down in London.

I can’t believe how few people seem to know about this place. I’m a regular here, probably go weekly. The best spot in Angel for lunch, hands down. Great tasting Indian food (not in the least bit greasy or heavy), very friendly staff and endless combinations. The chicken especially is very well prepared.

Considering all the choice there is on Upper Street, this is definitely one of the best. The food is delicious and a curry in a burrito is such a good idea. The food is all fresh and the staff very friendly and helpful. The burritos are huge - very good value for money.

Lovely lil place - U can eat in or take out.Staff are friendly and food is def value for money.U can choose from 3 or 4 curries, which can change day by day which always taste so fresh. U can do half and half for the meat/paneer that u wantHave it in a wrap or without the wrap.I prefer without a wrap.Lots of salad studd to choose from and sauces.U can also get a loyalty card which after a few go's u get free stuff and eventually a free burito/basket.Grupon also often has vouchers for this too

I study part time at City uni down the road and always visit this place. It's run by a lovely couple with a young baby who are always super polite and friendly. Nice selection of booze & soft drinks and they will make your burrito however you want it. Never any problem changing gloves to avoid cross-contamination. Chips aren't cooked with animal so one of the few places I can enjoy a portion.

I went in on a Saturday night recently, and the guy who was there was absolutely ridiculous. I was served by the girl but once I sat down, the man was touching the food with his hands - without washing them etc. It is also obvious the food is reheated, the food doesn't have flavour it's only the chutneys you add towards the end which adds some taste to it.

Came here with the 2 burritos and 2 beers for £9 deal on groupon. Really, really good value. Burritos were very filling and the man behind the counter explained all of our options regarding fillings and sauces properly. A really good selection of beers and a modern environment all made for a pleasant experience. Will undoubtedly visit again.

I went with my girlfriend and we had the regular chicken Burrito for her, and a large beef Burrito for me. My girlfriend doesn't eat anything spicy, so she wasn't too impressed with the food. I loved my beef Burrito, it was incredibly tasty, and crunchy because of the fried onions too. The service was great, and we felt very welcome, even though it was our first time, and we had no clue of what to choose. The attendant explained us everything, and all the options. The location is also great.

We purchased a Group on voucher for this place and really enjoyed it! We got 2 burrito's and a drink for £9, we were served with a smile and there is a nice choice of beers to choose from. I had the chicken with almost everything and it was amazing! My Boyfriend got the beef and it was OK. The toilet was really unclean (hairs on the seat) so that was a bit off putting to see when just about to eat BUT the food was really good.

I had the rogan josh burrito (medium spice) with chicken and beef, rice, cheese, raita- and it was gorgeous! It was a little hard to eat, but it tasted so so good! I know it sounds weird- but honestly this is one of the best meals I've had in London- and all for around £5. Also try the Poppadoms- they are worth it! Service is great! Get's in to my top 10 for overall taste in London easily!

I walked by this place and decided to try this place out.Upon first look, it looked like a weird combination of items to me. But when all put together, it made for a really nice meal. I tried the paneer tikka burrito, with the raita (mint yogurt) sauce and it was quite nice. The only little complain I have is that I found the tikka curry to be a tad bit sweet. Otherwise, it tasted quite nice. The service was quite slow, but the attitude made up for it pretty well as the staff were really nice and friendly. The place looked decently clean. They also offer a loyalty card and a 10% discount for City University students as it is located around the City University area.If you are looking for a well priced (for the quality and ingredients) quick eat, I would definitely recommend this place.

I live and breathe burritos. Bombay have only gone and made the best mash-up ever, combining burritos with one of my other favourite things, curry! Bloody good curry it is too. Extremely clean, well laid out considering the less than perfect shape of the space, tasty, tasty food, brilliant prices, and friendly service, albeit a little slow compared to your average burrito joint. That said, it is all made with care and it shows in the final product. The atmosphere needs a little work. It feels a bit like a bog standard soulless sandwich shop at the moment, which is a shame as it belies the quality of the food on offer. Well done guys, I'll be spreading the word.

I've got the Burrito bug since visiting San Francisco. I've been disappointed with other places in London except Benito's hat (see other reviews).This is a great tri-quad cultural twist. Purely based on observation, the owners are not, or do not appear to be Indian, yet the flavours, tastes, textures and freshness are nothing short of incredible.its well located, outside to the right of Angel station on the corner opposite and one of only 2 burrito establishments I had eaten at more than one...althought I nearly popped in again if I hadn't wished to try Roots at N1 (see other review).Despite the quality ingredents, e.g. chick peas, the burrito is one of the cheaper ones purchased.Variety of filllings will keep you coming back and I certainly hope to.Website in progress.

I went there with a coupon and ordered a rogan ghosh. It was really delicious. Thanks to this place, I am a fan of rogan ghosh curry. Service was also great. He was very helpful to explainfor explaining all curries and sauces.

As a veggie I've tried both veggie curries with the paneer (which is yum) and all the sauces (except the date one) and I think they could be better. They lack a depth of flavour that normally comes in abundance with indian food.I really like this place though, the staff are friendly and helpful and it's a cute store but they do need to improve the curries.It's also a shame that they don't don't much foot fall being on Goswell Road, there are many vacanct units on the very nearby Angel High Street so I hope they will move. The Chilango (mexican burrito & the best I've tasted) store on the High Street does extremely well so I can't help but think BB should move to increase their customer count.The store/restaurant itself is quite small, I'm not sure if there are loos as I've never asked. The burrito's are great value and come in either regular or large (I've done one of each) and you can also choose to have salad instead of burrito.I live very close so will continue to go as I want to support a) local business and b) i think the product is good.I really want this place to do well and I hope the current Groupon offer increases their customer base; that said I do think they should improve their curries and move to a better location.

Just got back to the states from visiting my daughter in London. Found a great new little restaurant in her neighborhood, Angel. Finding new foods is one of my favorite things to do when traveling, but its hard to do in the UK. And with the value of the dollar to the pound sterling, I was looking for something good, but easy on the budget. Bombay Burrito fit the bill in everyway. Burritos are nothing new to this Coloradoan, but the curry fillings are nothing short of amazing. And so many ways to mix and match. My favorite was Rojash(sic) curry, with chicken, rice, chick peas, roasted onions and topped off with onion salsa? cheese, hot peppers and yogurt sauce and date and tamarind chutney. You can get a sampler of the curries, 3 tikitacos (a small soft taco like) with different mixtures of curries, fillings, toppings and chutneys.And a regular size burrito is a full meal. If you want something lighter try the curries over a salad. Skip all the Mexican tortilla places opening in London and try a brandnew taste of a real British twist on a burrito, Bombay Burrito in Angel

As a bit of a foodie I know a good thing when I have it. Just because it's a fiver to eat here it doesn't mean they've skimped on the quality. Having been to India I know what good Indian street food tastes like and these guys seem to as well. My burrito was stuffed with real chicken tikka (which had been marinated properly) a beautifully spiced curry sauce (again very authentic), fresh onion and tomato salad and some wonderful chutney. There's not a lot been left to chance here, clean and pleasant surroundings if you want to sit in and eat, the person who served me was helpful and cheerful and the food spot on.

Great concept mixing curry and burritos and it really works. I work nearby and this has quickly become my new lunchtime favourite. The ingredients taste really fresh and the wraps seem very reasonably priced.I've always found the staff to be really helpful and willing to suggest flavour combinations if you're having trouble deciding in the queue. Highly recommend.

I was surprised to see this little place just off Pentonville Road; it was pointed out by a friend just as we were about to try somewhere else, as it's tucked away a little bit. And I have to admit I went in a little apprehensively, partly as I seem to remember the billboard itself looking like any you'd find outside of a cheap takeaway. But that belies the absolute quality of this place, and I'm glad I was proved wrong. The premise is in the name: it's a curry inside a burrito! There was a choice of three curries, each of different spiciness and the ones available dependent on the day, and for each your preferred choice of filling (chicken, beef or paneer). On top of that there are plenty of other toppings, including onions, chilli and a variety of sauces you might otherwise be putting on your papadum, and of course the rice And those are just the burritos - there are a healthy range of other snacks, too. With an Indian chef the curry tastes very authentic (compared to other high-quality curry-houses), and the combination with a burrito works very well - I suppose it's not too different to wrapping it all up in a naan.The prices are excellent (just under £5 for the basic burrito, add a pound to make it large, and another for a second filling), particularly for this quality, and they're eat in or take-away. They are sizeable and for that amount of money, in Central London, you are getting a very good value, delicious meal.
