Great food and efficient staff.

Had an awful experience with the staff at this restaurant and will never be ordering from them again! I ordered food for some friends and I on a Friday night. The food hadn't arrived when they said it would on their own app. I called the restaurant and a man answered who appeared to have no idea what was going on but said we would have the food soon. The food that was delivered was for the wrong address so I had to ran out and give it back to the driver. The delivery driver told me the restaurant had new management who were very disorganised. The lovely delivery driver called the restaurant for me trying to resolve the issue. The management at the restaurant didn't have anyone that spoke English so another delivery driver had to take the call. It was very chaotic. It took another hour and a half for our food to come. I was told I would get a call from the manager the next day to be given a refund but they never called me. Extremely poor service!

Lovely, freshly cooked food with friendly service. We had an excellent meal in the restaurant last week, and a great, high quality takeaway meal tonight. Thank you

Bogaz used to be so good but a recent visit with friends wasn't a great experience. Very rude abrupt guy who i think is the owner as other people have said that he is. Very rushed wont be going back. We recently went to Riva opposite the Pink Toothbrush . There was 17 of us and was treated fantastic really good experience and amazing food.

I went there today. Small portions. Very expensive and I've been on the toilet for 6 hours

Great food with very good atmosphere

We had lunch on a Friday afternoon and it was almost empty. The staff are very nice but overwhelmingly hovering constantly. The starters of hummus and beetroot with delicious bread was great. The mains of Lamb Moussaka and Vegetable Moussaka with rice were okay but we've had a lot better. Once we finished our starter our mains were on the table within a few minutes. This was so annoying and makes the experience so rushed. The staff need to stand back and let customers eat their meal without being watched over constantly.

Makes sure you check your bill as we were given one that had service included in the price, but at the bottom of it in bold print it stated service not included. When questioned the waiter said oh sorry but you have to try, indicating they do this on purpose and crossed out 'NOT' before handing it back to us. I have reviewed this restaurant before as we are regulars for the restaurant and takeaway but no more after I now know they knowingly try to deceive ther customers.

Went out on Saturday just gone and witnessed one of the worst cases of customer service I've ever seen. A small party were celebrating a birthday and were treated like literal trash. From what I heard they were booked for 2 hours but we're forced out 40 minutes early. The older waiter who was dealing with the table was one of the rudest wait staff I've ever witnessed. He proceeded to rush the customers, took their food without it being finished, and argued back with the customer when called out on his behaviour. Thankfully I had a lady serving us and requested that only she serve us. How this issue was handled, in front of the whole restaurant, was honestly disgusting. My family and I had frequented Bogaz since it opened and have enjoyed the food here for years. After witnessing the customer service on Saturday we will not be coming back. It was genuinely baffling to watch and left a sour taste for a lot of people in the restaurant who had to see this. Fire your terrible wait staff and gain a better reputation.

Went out for my birthday meal with 6 friends - had the table from 6-8pm. We had been bullied away from our bread (plates being taken when not finished with) and then further bullying with the mains, people had plates taken while in the toilet and not finished with their meal. We has the bill by 7:10pm - as we were out to celebrate we would have stayed happily for drinks/desserts but we were being stood over all evening. This was all down to the older long grey haired waiter who argued with my boyfriend and proceeded to slag him off to other waiters. Disappointed to say the least as we have been coming since it opened, no longer interested.

Food fantastic, staff very polite and attentive. A great restaurant to celebrate a birthday, staff will sing while playing instruments, even get the birthday boy/girl up to play a tambourine 😁. Great atmosphere.

Love this restaurant, always pleases me with the food. I have now been going since I was 16 and have been welcomed with amazing service every time. Starters are amazing, however they bring bread and salad anyways which is lovely(with dips) . Overall, beautiful restaurant and will continue to go back.

Very busy on a Saturday night. Service was efficient and friendly. Breads and olives were decent to start. Had the Ottoman King, which was lamb chops with tomato, chili and and an abundance of shallots (one might call it an excess). Meat was juicy and had the taste of the grill. I would just go for the straight lamb chops next time. The Iskender was good said one of my dining companions. The cheesecake desserts were fine, but not exceptional.

Amazing service, staff and fast serving! They cater for all dietary needs. All the staff made us feel so welcome, I would highly recommend to any that are curious about coming to this restaurant. Just go, you won't regret it! Parking can be a little tricky if you haven't been to Rayleigh, but fear not there is parking behind the restaurant, google castle road car park and this is roughly a 5 minute walk.

We have been a few times now. We had a lovely meal on a Monday, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Service was second to none and the food is always so tasty, big portions and interesting too. We will be back more that’s for sure

Me and my partner visited for lunch today, waiter took away our starters whilst we were still eating them without asking if we had finished. Food was good but shame about the service as ruined the experience for us.

Food was great, place was s good busy for a Tuesday evening which is niece to see, could do slightly bigger portions but apart from that had a wonderful time didn't get the dessert I wanted as was out of stock

Came here for my daughters birthday. Staff were lovely and the food is always great.

This time it was takeaway (I didn’t know they delivered). Arrived warm and was very tasty. I initially thought it was pricey, but when the lamb ribs and kebab arrived, it came with loads of side bits (salad, rice and bread). I will definitely order again, yummy and good value.

I have visited a few times now, a couple of times with friends and a couple of date nights with the Mrs. A fantastic atmosphere, waiters & waitresses very attentive and the food is amazing, no tiny portions!

The food is lovely but the service is appalling. The staff stand over you and want you to leave the minute you finish the food regardless of the fact that there are no people queuing for the tables. I complained and they said it would improve next time. The service was worse. I absolutely love their food at Bogaz but definitely would never go there again because of the poor service.

Have eaten here a number of times. Tonight we were sat on the side of the door as you walk in. Not too much to say about the food as it was the same as other occasions - as in it was nice. But unfortunately the service was poor. The gentleman (perhaps a manager here) came across as quite aloof and almost above serving his customers. Almost rude. And service was slow where we were. Just basically a poor experience which spoilt our meal. We will try the other Turkish restaurants for a while.

Nice staff Food is very average and much less appetising than previously.For £16 for 2 courses I honestly wxpected a lot more. The moussaka portion was small. Used to enjoy the food a lot more so disappointed to write this review

This review is for their take-away. Order arrived with one person's meal missing. Phoned them and young girl answered who said she was new. I heard her relay the message to manager in the background who told her to tell me, it would be a 45 minute wait 'as they were busy'. Erm i haven't even received my full order and I have to wait behind other customers? also no apology. I said I wasn't prepared to wait that long and then I asked to speak to him myself. After a few minutes I heard his voice coming closer to the phone and then he promptly hung up on me. So rude and lovely way to treat your customers! As he refused to speak to me. I then had the inconvenience of driving to the shop the following day to get my £10 refund. On arrival at the shop and starting to explain the issue I was rudely interrupted when the guy says 'what is it you want?'. I did get my money back but they honestly could not have cared less. I was a regular customer previously and will now give my money to another restaurant who actually value their customers in future. I will never use their take-away or visit their over priced restaurant again.

Very tasty food for all the courses, and reasonably priced, would recommend.

I came here today with 3 friends for catch up!! We was greeted at the door by name of our booking!! I really liked thought it was personal touch!! We had 2-3 waiters, all of them were very polite!! The food was very nice and full of flavour! Biscoff cheesecake was amazing Definitely visit again!

1st visit. Local shopping meant local lunch venue and my daughter fancied "picky bits". We had not booked but were greeted warmly and given a window seat. The decor is modern, chic, clean & inviting and the service is fantastic. We ordered a sharing plate for 2 plus some taramasalata and drinks. The shiraz was very enjoyable. Our food was cooked nicely and the restaurant was filling up as we were leaving. This seems like its a busy venue. Enjoyable experience all round.

I've always really liked this restaurant, the atmosphere is comfortable and friendly, the staff are lovely and the food is very good. Before we started, lots of sharing food was bought to the table (bread, dips, salad & olives) the bread was lovely and I could have eaten a huge bowl of the gorgeous salad - really crispy, fresh and full of flavour. I had an avocado & Feta salad starter and it was lovely. Went for the mixed fish shish for main, the fish was overcooked which made it a bit dry which was a shame but the dish was tasty and there was plenty of vegetables. The portions are very generous and with the appetisers being bought to the table, I didn't really need the starter. We had a really lovely evening here and the cocktails were very tasty too. Always happy to re-visit this friendly restaurant (just take the fish out the pan a couple of minutes sooner please!).

We hadn’t been to a Turkish restaurant for some time and so didn’t know what to expect. We got a very warm welcome and the customer service was excellent throughout the meal. The quality and variety of food was wonderful.

The food was good, but orders were not taken correctly for instance Adana missing from the mixed kebab, waiter says he would bring one, subsequently the guest was charged a further £9 pounds difference but comparing what they thought he ordered was £3 difference i find them a rip off. Others ordered orange and lemonade and were charged £7. Too expensive and didn’t seam to know what they were doing.

Tried to order online, first of all without a degree in computer science virtually impossible to turn cookies off( which I believe is illegal) then got to check out and I must have ordered before but forgot my password; hit password reminder, just kept on going back to the menu , frustrated I got my wife to open an account, then ."..sod it cash only (What’s going on there I wonder) lost the plot at that point and went to Charcoal Earth much simpler

Visited this restaurant yesterday afternoon with some family for the first time the food was exceptional from starters to mains. The service we received was as good as the food and we will certainly be returning soon

Great food and even better service. I forgot to get our waiter's name, a smartly turned out young man working on Wed 3rd May. He was superb, honestly one of the best waiters I've had. Everyone at the table commented on how good he was. He was attentive of course, but knew about every meal in detail, and gave recommendations to each diner about what they might like based on their preferences. He recommended the Ottoman Kebab to me and it was an excellent dish, really very good. Funny, intelligent, articulate, helpful, engaging and efficient. There really is nothing else you could possibly want in a waiter. I've read the other comments below about being rushed, all I can say is, we didn't experience that. But then on a Wednesday it wasn't that busy. I've also noted the times that some have mentioned and it is true that all restaurants only give you 2 hours per meal. If they didn't hurry those who dawdle, you'd get other people complaining they turned up for a meal only to be told their table wasn't ready yet!
