Great little cafe with a nice view. Good coffee and cake, excellent breakfast with dairy free options. Lots of interesting books to browse through. Preferred the breakfast here to the hotel breakfast we had actually paid for, so came back 3 days in a row!

We randomly stopped here for lunch on our drive round Skye. This place is really really cute. Gorgeous views through the large windows surrounded by shelves of old books. It was a lovely vibe and the staff were also great. Lovely food, although personally we felt it was pretty expensive for what it is. However, aside from that, well worth the stop for the views and an hour chilling out in a nice atmosphere! :)

Doesn't look much from the outside, but this is a real lovely, quirky little cafe set within an old hall (that's now a bookstore or reading room). Coffee, Chai Tea were all excellent. Lovely views and plenty seating outside too if its sunny.

We looked forward to our visit due to the reviews and had a nice breakfast - the cakes looked amazing. But we would not go back as there was no friendly greeting at all from the girl serving - we were actually ignored for a while on arrival and she barely raised a smile despite our best efforts - the food may be good but customer service was lacking.

I had a delicious coffee & muffin at the Bog Myrtle. The coffee is roasted on the Isle of Skye and tastes like what you would get in an artisan coffee shop in the cities. The coffee is slightly over £3 so prices are also comparable but where else in the world would you get this view!

We visited this quirky café on what was an unusually warm day for Skye. Sadly, the pancakes were not available (we assume they had ran out of ingredients but no reason was actually given). Undeterred, we both ordered a cheese and ham panini with blood and orange turmeric drinks, as the server commented “an easy order!”. Considering the easy order and the fact that the café wasn’t that busy, the food took slightly longer to arrive than it should have done. Nevertheless, it was worth the wait, the paninis and contents tasted fresh and the accompanying salad had a delicious honey mustard flavoured dressing on it. At £23 it was a little on the pricey side but I guess that’s how these places survive by making the most of the seasonal influx. It wasn’t clear whether the books were free and we used a couple as reference whilst we awaited food. Someone else has commented negatively about them but personally in this age of technology, I felt it nice to rest a while and let a real book satisfy most of my senses.

This place was recommended to me by a tour guide. It is an old building filled with old books for sale, furnishings were eclectic, cakes, pastries and drinks were available. The tumeric latte (made with oat milk) was also very tasty as was the hummus ciabetta. We have been to Bog Myrtle a number of times now. We live on Skye so it's not a mammoth journey to get there. I have to be honest and say that I think it's probably the best cafe on Skye. I'm picky. I don't go back to places I don't like, and neither will I write a bad review of such places. I just don't go back. I think the person who has given them two 'poor' reviews has completely missed the point of the place. Perhaps they should do themselves a favour and stay away?

As others have said, don't be deceived by the outside appearance of the building (also it's quite easy to miss when driving past) - inside is a beautifully laid out space with plenty of seating, good coffee, and amazing savoury bakes as well as cakes. We spent a lot of time looking through all of the used books (some of which are more rare and interesting than you might expect). We ended up having our food to take away, and ate it outside at the picnic tables in a brief moment of sunshine. I recommend the savoury muffins which are huge and packed with juicy tomatoes, onions and cheese. Really highly recommend stopping here! Planned a cycle route around this cafe and wow was it worth it. Not much to look at outside but fabulously eclectic inside with books, clothes and any matter of second hand stuff creating a great atmosphere. The view is amazing but that’s nothing on the food. So good we drove back the next day. I didn’t try everything sadly, but the savoury muffins were mouth-wateringly tasty. The coffee great and the carrot cake moist. Friendly service and I can’t recommend it enough.

Doesn't look great from the outside but appearance can be deceptive. Exciting cafe with great food (the scroll) and probably the best Coffee I had on Skye. And sorrounded by books with a great view over the Cuillins. Definitely a find and I wish them well.

We happened across this place by accident (it's not easy to see from the street), and boy are we glad we did. On a 7 day-road trip through Scotland, this was by far the best meal we had. Super delicious and fresh food, put together in an interesting way -- we had savory muffins, with a salad, and a Spanish potato salad thing (I can't remember what it was called, but it was amazing). I highly recommend stopping in to see what interesting flavors the chef has come up with that day. Friendly chef & servers as well. Wish we had more time on Skye, we wanted to stop back the next day, but were too far away to make it happen.

What an excellent place: zingy, generous, fresh food served in a second-hand bookshop. A fairly small menu - but that's a relief, because everything looks so good. The baking is high class: the savoury muffin was light, and packed with layers of flavour. The salads we all had were big, balanced, and full of interesting ingredients - many, it seems, sourced locally. My kids kept on asking why I was frowning and shaking my head: it was because I was enjoying every mouthful so much. Very good coffee. For what you get, especially on Skye, it seems very cheap. Lovely owners - a young couple who deserve to make a real success of this place.

Visited Bog Myrtle twice during this visit. Its a lovely vintage/book shop with a really nice menu. On the first visit I had soup, a millionaire shortbread and tea. On the second visit we had millionaire shortbread, white choc and ginger brownie, a mexican bean savoury muffin, cappucino, latte, tea and Ribena - all very enjoyable. The owners are lovely, the view is beautiful. Ive given 4 stars as it is a little pricey for the cakes (£3.20 each) and the Ribena was £2 BUT the cakes are large, filling and very yummy. We will visit again.

Happened to stumble on this little gem by accident as all the cafes in Dunvegan were closed and definitely happy I did. The outside doesn't look much as it looks like a bookshop but inside tells a completely different story.
