I had Medium cod and chips with a can of coca cola and curry sauce and tartar sauce and it was brilliant, can't go wrong for £12.80

Was good before. Now £3 for small chips.. (they say keeping inline with other places). They don’t realise there are no jobs in worthing, people have less spendable income and is mainly a seasonal tourist place when the weather is good. £3, small portions. We need better value chips shop.

Food lovely and good price would recommend

Wow! Wow! We stopped a guy with a box of fish and chips on Worthing Pier. He told us Blue Ocean are the best in town.. we went there and yes the fish was perfectly battered and the fish meat was a brilliant white, just could not be fresher. The chips were amazing. Good friendly service too! Often people say best ever, but in this case it’s true. Thank you Blue Ocean

visited here today for the first time after reading other reviews. Excellant, we had fish and chips and a sausage for the dog. Food was freshly cooked and hot. Very good portion sizes, food tasted lovely. Fish flaky and batter crisp. Chips were lovely too, not greasy at all. Great value for money. Would highly recommend and will visit again. Staff friendly and shop clean.

Got takeaway fish and cod bites, expecting 6 bite sized nuggets, but got 6 freshly battered and cooked medium sized filets of cod and delicious, non-greasy chips. I've had my fair share of seaside fish and chips and this one ranks among the best!

Visited this establishment on Saturday as I was attending a football match between Worthing and Slough Town. Always look for a chippy when visiting the seaside. I liked the service very much. Very friendly and welcoming. I ordered Medium Cod, medium chips and mushy peas. Total cost was £10.10 which I thought was pretty good. The restaurant on the pier wanted £14.99 just for cod and chips!! The chips were well cooked, and the medium cod looked like a large, the batter was perfectly cooked, nice and crispy, so good portions for your money. I would highly recommend a visit if you visit Worthing. It’s on the corner just opposite the pier.

We were on a day trip and popped in here by pure chance and so glad we did. Reasonable prices for it's proximity and was really delicious - everything was cooked to order - really couldn't fault it.

I ordered a medium cod and chips, and it was excellent! Straight out of the fryer - chips were lovely and crisp and fish was tasty too. Highly recommended!

Delicious chips and fresh fish in superb, crispy batter. The gulls love them too, so you have to find a sheltered spot to devour them if you're not planning o take them home.

Today was the first time I have used this Chip Shop. Asked for 2 small portions of chips . £3.40 should have been the total cost . He asked me if I had cash .I said no and then he said there was a Minimum Card Charge of £5.00 . I refused to abide by that practice and then walked out ! Result a lost Customer . In fact although it is not illegal to set a Minimum Card Charge it does contradict the Visa Core Rules and if they are contacted they will stop him doing that . Creating a negative customer experience is fatal for small businesses. Customers are spoiled for choice these days – if you don’t accept small transactions, they’re more likely to shop with your competitors who do and that is what we did ! I suggest that instead of the card providers charging you a fee such as 20p per transaction you re consider . The vast majority of merchant services now charge percentages. When charged like this, you essentially keep the same profit no matter the size of transaction – so there’s no reason to set a minimum card amount.

Went here, having been recommended to me, and I wasn't disappointed. All sizes and various choices of fish were freshly cooked to order. The phrase melt in the mouth comes to mind when eating their food.

Visited here Tuesday 7th sept 2021 as we just fancied Fish and Chips to take away. Situated just off the front, it was a very busy place with many people outside who were helpful to explain the system. One person allowed in at a time to order and pay and given a number, then you stand outside and get called when food is ready, was about 20mins. Staff were friendly and the fish and chips were delicious, we did a 5 minute walk and sat on the prom to eat. Prices were very good too and large portions.

Fast service, fair price fair portion size. The fish didn’t appear the most fresh so not a 5* for me but a 3* would be unfair equally.

Trust me I've eaten a lot of fish & chips over the years and this place is truly exceptional. Perfectly cooked cod (just starting to flake), light crispy batter (not clawing or greasy) and chips that are crisp on the outside but fluffy in the middle. Great value too. I would have added a picture but couldn't stop for the deliciousness. Enjoy!

Ordered a large cod and chips. All freshly cooked and crispy chips and crunchy batter and plenty of it. Staff where very friendly and soon get your order done for you. Would throughly recommend while in Worthing Blue ocean Fish and Chips. Bonus on a sunny day to sit on the beach and enjoy.

Gutted…this used to be our favourite fish and chips as we live local and 80% of the time it’s been good. The rating would have been MUCH worse if it wasn’t for that fact Last month however I watched them take cooked chips from the warming drawer and re fry them!!! Consequently what we got was dry wrinkly chips that were inedible. This place is not cheap and it was a busy day so there was no excuse for it. Really sad but we’ve now moved to using the fish and chip shop next door.

Absolutely delicious fish and chips, cod, haddock, cod bites, scampi and calamari all cooked perfectly. Definitely will be ordering again.

Proper bad . Fish swimming in oil . Butter without any seasoning .Chips as fish a swimmer in oil . You pay for oil pretty much . You don't get any lemon with fish . Ketchup and maionese 25p for small pot . On a top of this 5 of us get food poisoning .

Bought battered cod and chips. Ended up having a food poisoning. There was 5 of us and all of us were unwell after a meal from this place. Sauce is on extra cost. Fish was tasteless. Felt that frying oil was way too used. Will never go back. And I would suggest to avoid this place for others too!

The fish was perfectly cooked with lovely crisp batter and the chips were the best I've ever eaten, really crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside. My daughters first time out since lockdown she chose a trip to the beach. I treated us to sausage & chips to eat on the beach. It was disgusting! Threw it in the bin & got McDonalds on the way home. Change your oil & invest in better quality sausages.

Surprisingly great. I generally think lots of places in seaside town centres rely on their location rather than standard of food but Blue Ocean is an anomaly. Large cod, chips, mushy peas and tartare sauce all for £11. Easily enough for 2 people. Was told 5 minute wait which is always good news as they are cooking it fresh. Very thin, light and crispy batter and real potatoey chips (may sound odd but sometimes chip shop chips just taste like oil sponges). Normally go to Chipwicks but we are definite converts. Cheaper and more conveniently located for us. Great work guys.

Horrible food. You can smell they are using old oil, tried their fish and chip twice and each time I felt ill afterwards. Not the first person to feel unwell after food from this place. Do not recommend - chipwick is just round the corner and it’s much better

Great fish and chips , scampi and chips yesterday evening, best we have had for ages . Queuing system for takeaway worked well.

Ordered a large cod and chips with mushy peas on a busy Friday evening during covid 19. Was advised on a 15 minute wait due to the busy time and you could place your order then wait outside. Upon collecting I went to the seafront to eat, opened the box and looked inside. Too my disappointment it would appear i had what resembled a small / medium Cod certainly not a large cod, and there was probably only 30 chips in the bottom of box. Fish tasted good along with the chips and mushy peas, but at a cost of £9.10 you would certainly think you have been ripped off. Couldn’t be bothered to go back and complain and give them chance to rectify because of the queuing etc, won’t return again.

Have been here before and was great so thought we would visit again. Unfortunately it has gone downhill since our last visit. The fish was good quality and cooked well but there was too much batter, the battered sausage was the opposite, not enough batter! The chips were very dry and the gravy was too runny. On a good note the curry sauce was great.
