Bluebird Fish Bar in Aberdeen City

Never had a bad meal from here and the staff are always friendly.

Food was average, the program on the tv was more exciting.

For my money the best chipper in town and it not a close contest.was my local for years when I lived in the area.Now live the other side of town and happily drive past half a dozen chippers to go here .I would recommend above any other I’ve tried or had recommended to me.

Been using the bluebird for years and it's never disappointed!

Stopped by for a celebratory fish supper after the Dons fabulous win over Frankfurt. It had been ages since I'd been here but just as good as it's always been. One of the best chippers in Aberdeen in my opinion.

Tasty. But must say smallest fish supper I have ever had.. Chips were over cooked. Seemed like a rush to get food out..

Much better than previous time, 2 girls were lovely, fish was crazy but still flaky and haggis was munching

This was a perfect experience. Everything we could have hope for and more for what he understand to being a chippy experience. We had a fish, a fish and chips, an irn brew and a curry sauce for dipping. Perfection. The staff was extremely nice and quirky! We felt as though we had accidentally walked into a sitcom scenario with all the customers and staff get together. And us being the odd out Americans 😂😂😂

Thanks for the goldfish and half a potato that was battered and fried. Asked for extra seasoning and it tasted like it had none. Had to add the salt and vinegar myself. Also took about ten hours to arrive, despite being nearby. Absolutely brutal stuff. Won't order again.

Ordered fish with chips and chicken. The fish was dry and had a suspicious smell, so ended up in the bin. The chicken and chips were okay. Nope, never come back and not recommend.

This place use to be amazing, not sure what happened but the food is terrible, they also evidently don’t clean the fryers often enough and or adequately, this is evident due to the greasy speckled infested batter and the bitter taste in the food. Awful, will never be back.

Was served by the RUDEST girl!! Terrible attitude and service, she virtually threw the food at me because i asked for the chips in a box rather than a bag. Scolwed at me and was totally ignorant. Monday 29th May

Not what it used to be. I’ve been going to this fish shop for 8 years. It was great but prices have been increasing and the size of portions decreasing. Such a shame.

Food here is very good, fresh and big portions. Would be 5 stars if it weren't for the lack of manners and hygene of the girls serving.

Used to superb this place! But seems like new owners maybe? I got the fish and chips king rib and white pudding and was nothing like what it used to be! Batter was different fish was smaller king rib had a weird taste and the pudding was just too dry. And nothing was ready waited 15 mins at least. No welcome in the shop pretty poor

Extremely rude young girls serving and a face that desperately needs a smile cracked on it. Not the 1st time I have encountered this problem at The Bluebird chipper but it will be the last. Move on to a place that treats its customers a bit better

Last night ordered 2 fish supper on uber, myself picking up the order on my way home. I got there asked and she said it will take a couple of minutes. She packed it without asking about vinegar and salt and arriving home to see this...missing the chips on one

More expensive every day and portions smaller and smaller, customer service nil, and the cheeseburger looks horrible not to mention that it tastes like fish

This place omg! I have had a lot of fish and chips in my lifetime, but this was by far the best fish I have ever had. The staff are not really chatty and don't like working there (or so it seems, they were a bit rude), but they make amazing food. Had a haddock supper plus pineapple rings. Both excellent. I would go back to Aberdeen just for that.

Been coming here for years old other Richard lovely good food always polite new owner a absolute nasty peice of work food rubbish and can't take complaints actually banned us for complaining don't worry wouldn't set foot in youre shop again go on a course and learn too fry properly cos you're food is crap

Pretty good portion and crispy too. I thought £8.50 was expensive for fish and chips, but it's pretty much the going rate now.

Poor show by this highly recommended fish bar. Family night planned with several take outs being delivered to one address. Bluebird failed to show and cancelled a Just Eat order after more than 2 hours of waiting, when others were able to deliver in the given time slot or better. Communication non existent. Will not order from them again.

Usually a decent portion for the price however just been charged for a medium chips that looks smaller than a regular. Pretty redicualas considering the cost abosollutly a rip off. Shall think again before returning which is a shame as been a customer 7 years. Not again!

Food was tasty and reasonably priced.

Tasty and fresh white pudding and tattie fritters. Even after a 15 min walk home the food was still piping hot.

Went in the other day 2 fish suppers white pudding supper and a pie supper small chips with crumbs fish very dry and tough I will give it a big miss

Lovely fish and chips. Not like any I've tasted. £8.20 per portion. The people are very lovely and friendly. Very accommodating and suggested dishes. They also have a kids menu. There was a queue so you know its good.

Excellent bar. Good food, varied selection of beers and a diverse clientele.

Bluebird never disappoint, haddock is always lovely and crispy. I wouldn't buy my fish n chips anywhere else

Used to be good, waited 10mins for chipsteak supper, it had a weird taste, I rated it No1 in Aberdeen, now nowhere near it, but could be because of covid times..

Not great at all. Order was on collection time but everything was very greasy and the kids and we really didn't enjoy it.

Nice chips, good pies and fish.....best to go outwith rush hours, due to current road restrictions

Really good fish and chips, as usual, we visit them whenever we go to Aberdeen. Very large portions, you must be hungry as a wolf to finish them. Quick service, got the order in 10 minutes, totally recommended.

Been going to this chip shop for years. Not sure if the original owner has sold it but it was a different person in there frying tonight. The chips were solid the king rib and mock chop was burnt and full of grease. The mince pie was solid and burnt. The while meal was awful. Won't be going back

Ordered today & forgot to put something on the order when I called up a lovely lady answered the phone and helped me with what I needed. Quick delivery everything was still hot. The batter on the king ribs are amazing happy faces all round🙂 thank you

Just had a fish and chicken supper from this chip shop, the fish was horrible, not fresh, terrible advert for the Scottish fishing industry, the chips weren’t much better. The service was very quick and it was hot. Only in Aberdeen for a night. Wish I hadn’t wasted my money, so disappointing.only reason I’m giving 2 stars is for the service.

I ordered through deliveroo and part of the order was missing. Food looked like it's been sat around for a long time and is rock solid. Phoned the chipper and they couldn't care less. Despicable.

Absolutely amazing.... Freshly made fish and chips. Although the down side to this is you have to stand while it's being prepared. I wish they had a seat for you to sit. Other than that, the food was amazing... It's so good!!!

The black pudding supper was excellent, but a very long wait. The quality of the supper made up for it though.

We've been going here for ages but our fish suppers on Friday night prompted this review as it was superb. Usual nice thick haddock perfectly fried but the chips were the best I've had in ages. Top marks all round.

Very good food. The prices are cheap and the staff are welcoming. Only issue is trying to park on the street close to the shop.

Best chipper in Aberdeen. Food was fantastic. As a regular it used to be the best chipper in Aberdeen now I'm not a big fan. They have recently changed supplier and it isn't very good. The new pies are nowhere near as good as they used to be. The chips are as excellent as ever it's just the new pies are a major disappointment .

Must be one of the best chip shops in Aberdeen with friendly staff ..
