Use to be really good but one Currys was to dry and meat didn't taste marinated enough.

Excellent food , great value , staff are lovely , very accommodating and Friendly always happy to go the extra yard for customers.

Have been ordering delivery and eating in for about 15 years. Tonight's £100+ delivery order has missing starters and wasn't the best in terms of quality and quantity. Won't be ordering or eating in again.

I have been to this restaurant twice now whilst being away with work. I am very picky when it comes to Indian food as my step dad was from India and my grandmother taught me how to cook Indian food (also spent many years as a restaurant manager) I can honestly say this has been the best Indian restaurant I have eaten in. The food was full of flavour, plenty of meat and the rice was so fluffy. The staff were very attentive and I wish there was somewhere like this closer to home so I didn’t have to cook myself as some dishes were just like my nan used to make. Great work guys

Ordered for a delivery, took ages to come, food was cold, popadoms smashed and some of order was missing, messaged restaurant but got no response at all. Was a regular customer but not any more, no response says it all, they don’t care once they’ve got your money

Nestled quietly in the middle of rainhill shopping square, the blue mango restaurant stands apart from the closed shops and the empty spaces. It is hiding in plain sight, a delight to taste, and at a reasonable price. We stayed for a Monday night meal, with the restaurant having plenty of space at 7pm. The decor is clean and styled nicely, the staff well majored, respectful and pleasant. Our drinks order was taken promptly and tasted great when they arrived. I had an old fashioned cocktail, and a beer. The wife enjoyed a pina colada and a lager with lime. Both very tasty, both great measures. For starters... Poppadoms and mixed kebab, then a mix of 2 mains. dansak and dupiaza with a side of pilau rice and Peshawar naan. The food was fantastic. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 A definite 'on par' best Indian meal in the area. Even compared to the excellent flavours of "cottage Warrington". Having enjoyed many with the area, it goes without saying this is our new Local Indian! Excellent work 👍👏. We will be back

Massive selection of food Amazing Quality Food Service is exceptional

Service was poor. It took over 3 hrs for a 1 course meal plus pickle tray. They had missed us out and had to be reminded that we hadn't had our main meal. Won't be visiting again.

Well where shall I start …. Service… we had to shout literally for more drinks …. Clear are own table of empty plates. Food … starters was ok … the rest of the meal was bland….. oh they expected us to order our food with no menu’s…. Atmosphere was a joke !! as people were more concerned about getting drinks and food…. than enjoying themselves. The place is over priced and I certainly won’t be returning.

Everything about this place is just lovely. From the warm welcome, to the knowledgable wait staff, to the decor and ambience and finally the food!! It’s all just beautiful.. whether you are going for a special occasion or for a quick bite to eat you are treated with respect and courtesy. The food is literally to die for, we ate far too much at the beginning meaning we were struggling to fit our mains in - no bother, it was bagged up for us to enjoy at home! The menu is so extensive and you can tell the dishes within it are so well thought out and have meaning. I urge you to try this place / their chutney tray is the best I have ever had, hands down! That’s why we ate so many poppadoms! 😂 Starters we had the chicken & pineapple wrap and cod with mango salsa - delicious and light. For mains we went for a tandoori chicken biryani and an array of side dishes which all came home with us! Seriously, it’s a vibe, call into the cocktail lounge afterwards for a digestiv, you won’t regret it. Booking is recommended over the weekend I would say as it’s very busy.

A great restaurant for a family meal, from the organisation to the meal itself the staff really looked after us. The food was fantastic and there is a bar area with comfy booths to enjoy a pre/post meal drink in. Overall this was an awesome evening.

Called here for a takeaway Friday night having not been for a while. the bhajis were amazing and the Chicken Vindaloo was excellent and very tasty with a generous amount of meat. wonderful

After reading all the positive reviews, we were very excited to try Blue Mango for the first time! My partner’s food came out lukewarm and tasted like supermarket curry paste. My mixed grill also came out lukewarm and lacked the fragrance and flavour you’d usually expect from it - thoroughly average. None of the grill dishes are served in sizzling pans as “they don’t do sizzlers”. The naan bread was fresh and tasty, and was sadly the highlight of our meal. We let the owner know our thoughts kindly and politely, he apologised and promised to sort something out for us next time we’re there. That’s not really any consolation when we have the problem with our meal *this* time. We should’ve been offered a discount off our bill. Alas, we paid, left disheartened, and now I’m writing a Google review for a restaurant - something I’m not sure I’ve ever done before. We’re sad more than anything as it’s got so much buzz about it here and on trip advisor. Guess it used to be a better establishment?

We where aware of the food 1 star review back in may but thought we would give it a go in hope that changes have been made. We had never been before so nothing to compare it to. The cocktails …. Amazing. We ordered the chutney tray, which was nice but we found a long hair in one of the trays. We didn’t make a fuss, put it aside and moved on. The chicken in my curry wasn’t good quality, large red veins inside (I hope they are veins and not pink chicken) so finished up and decided it wasn’t for us but I hope they do improve. Lots of families and couples in the restaurant.

AVOID I heard these guys where closed down and they had reopened again after improvements so decided to give them a go. Poor service over the phone, sounded like they where up the wall with no idea of what was going on. Food arrived, warm and didn’t looks familiar to my usual order. Dry chicken. Very tasteless. Tub’s that food arrived in where dripping with grease. I would not back here ever again. Very poor.

Fantastic food as always, and the best poppadoms our American relative had ever tasted. We’ve been customers for about 100 years, and for many reasons. Ryan works so hard for his customers, and is a long-standing pillar of the community. He has supported so many local events and is very much loved and appreciated. His team follow his example, and the result is a very fine restaurant at the heart of a thriving community. Get yourself down to the Blue Mango - you won’t be disappointed.

Really enjoyed the food and good service

Went to this restaurant one Saturday evening, on arrival the restaurant was empty with only about three tables occupied,the food was nice but the onion bhajis and the tandoori mixed grill were over cooked and dry,the service was good. We would visit again but give the bhajis and mixed grill a miss.

A couple of nights ago I had a stranger knock on the door. As I answered they said it was the food I’d ordered from the Blue Mango, which was unusual as I hadn’t ordered anything from there. The delivery driver was adamant it was me asking if my name was Will Poderosa. We went back and forth for a couple of minutes, during which they were quite rude. I’m not usually one to leave reviews but the attitude on the delivery driver was below what you’d expect. It’s seem like this restaurant had mixed reviews, but after seeing the 1 star viewing in the paper a few weeks back I would certainly consider eating else where.

I came in here and I looked at the menu and there where no blue mangoes I asked the chef for a blue mango he gave me a orange one 1 star

Not been for years and to be fair it was early on a Thursday so hardly anyone in. The popadoms and chutneys were good as were the meat samosas, the onion Bahjis were a bit in the small side so were dry my main course the lamb saag balti was lovely, however, the Biryani was tasteless and TBF they were really good about it and offered another selection but we were on a time limit (they took the cost of the meal off the bill)...fair play 👍🏻

Having resided in the locality for six years I decided to try this restaurant. And I wasn't disappointed. I enjoyed a very nice prawn biryani dish with an excellent mango chutney. The atmosphere is excellent and the staff are wonderful. The bar is well-stocked and it makes for a nice evening visit.

The curry sauce (Achari meaning pickle) was wonderful, topped with fresh mango, and accompanied with marvellous Spinach and Garlic rice. Both these dishes were new to me. Chose lamb and the meat, while lovely, was full of bones. Popadums (apparently spicy) and chutney tray were okay. Service wasn't great to be honest.

We generally have take away from here and enjoy the dishes.

Ordered online for food at 19.20 given a delivery time of 20.20. Food arrived at 21.15 I called the restaurant to check on the order when the delivery time had passed to check on the progress but it arrived cold. Tasted the chips they were cold and hard. The delivery driver was very apologetic. due to the cost of meal (£50) therefore I declined to take the order. The driver was great tho and I offered him a tip for his troubles but he didn't accept due to the circumstances. I'm just Very disappointed hopefully othet people get a better service.

Never again !! Been here on and off over the past 15 years, had a takeaway meal tonight for me and my wife, I had king prawn makihani, wife had chicken tikka masala, both were extremely water, no taste to either meal, probably the poorest Indian meal I have ever experienced in over 40 years

Visited The Mango lounge as it had been recommended to my by a friend and I wasn’t impressed. It was as if half of the people in there where on drugs. Openly taking them in the toilets, even a group of lads sat at a table snorting something a couple of feet away from what I assume was the owner at the bar. Speaking of the owner he seemed more interested in grabbing away to people than taking my order of drinks and when finally he got round to taking my order was quite rude. If poor service and a drug fuelled night is your sort of thing then it might be for you. As for more I won’t be in a rush to be going back!

Slow service.Staff concentrated on sorting out the takeaway deliveries to the obvious annoyance of diners . Food was nice. Both main dishes came in chipped serving dishes.

Hands down best Indian food within a million miles other places might be cheaper but I thought prices where reasonable. Staff where very welcoming and polite.. Food was delivered hot and fresh.. My new go to place don't listen to the moaners take it from me a picky eater I cleaned the plate and I normally pick bits off I don't like..

Love this place and don't get me wrong they only got a four star rating for service because they were very busy and we had to wait for someone to come over for a drink order but after that I can't fault the restaurant we had a great time nice food and lovely staff, really enjoyed the night 🥰

Very pleasantly surprised by this place. Gave it a go while working near by. The food was really good, service was fast and the staff were very friendly. Nice decor inside too, really nice place to enjoy a meal. We would definitely go back when next in the area! Parking just around the back is very handy too!

It took them 30 mins to bring our drinks. We had to remind them twice we hadn't had them . Other people who came in after us got their drinks and food before us. When the main course came it wasn't hot and we had to ask for cutlery. The food tasted excellent but the service wasn't good at all

Ok not the best we’ve had but one of the poorest sadly. Expected better, had to send a meal back but they exchanged with no fuss. Also a little pricey too. Portion sizes small & tikka not on a hot plate. Just passing through Rainhill, just drive on. Maybe we’re spoiled where we live with quality eateries.

As always the food was amazing and the staff were their usual helpful and friendly selves. Will be going again and I'd definitely recommend The Nepalese off the signature dishes.

Best thing was probably the chutney tray and poppadoms, starters were tasteless and curry wasn’t great either, expensive compared to other places too, first and last time for us.

Second time I've visited here for a curry this year and it was great. Great pickle tray, starters and main. Fast and tasty. Good ambience in the restaurant, although we were in at 17:30 so it wasn't busy at all. Thanks for having us 👍

Such a stunning atmosphere and the food is gorgeous. Staff are all so friendly and are always on top of everything, making sure everyone’s okay and got everything they need. Gorgeous cocktails too, I recommend the ”Glug Jug” it’s so fruity and tasty🤩🤩 Highly recommended. Waiter always gave me & my boyfriend a free shot of Tequila Rose as they got on so well and was so lovely of him so thank you! Will be back!

Food was good but the man who tells you he works in the kitchen is quite rude on a 30th Birthday also said we didnt have a reservation yet we had the booking emails from Ryan Meah I really like indian culture but i did not ask for a history lesson on chicken tikka and chicken tikka masala which the chef screamed and shouted around the restaurant to one of our mates Fella was a whopper and thought he was the rock with that bicced head

My boyfriend and I went to Blue Mango Indian for a date night. It was our 1 year anniversary, so wanted to go somewhere we knew the food was nice (we have been with friends a few times). We told the friendly waiter it was our anniversary and he made us feel special and we really enjoyed our night. We came here on a Sunday night. It was about half full. We like the décor and the atmosphere was great. Because it wasn’t crazy busy, the staff were all attentive. The portion sizes are really big and the food is extremely tasty. We have previously been to an Indian restaurant closer to home before finding Blue Mango, and their portion sizes are about half in comparison - but are more expensive! We’ll definitely be returning to Blue Mango on many more occasions :)

Family favourite. Always busy. Friendly staff and the food is amazing. Not the cheapest of places but the location, decor and atmosphere along with just how pleasant a dining experience you get here. Its worth every penny.

Ordered for delivery...no sign of food after nearly two hours...telephoned but no answer...ended driving to the restaurant (which is only a few minutes away)...surprise surprise the food hadn't even been cooked...disgraceful!

I like the Blue Mango, the food is great. It seems to me though that this restaurant is having an identity crisis. The mural, at the back door, of The Beatles crossing Abbey Road alongside Stephenson's Rocket train isn't very Indian and the background music inside the restaurant isn't Indian. Call me old fashioned but if I go to an Indian restaurant, I would prefer the whole experience to be Indian. But hey, if it works for the restaurant it works. Go for the food, it's great.
