First time I've eaten a meal at 'The Blue' - normally it is cheesy chips with beer. The atmosphere there is always good, and we were pleased to find the quantity and quality of the roast beef lunch was excellent. Not expensive, but very palatable. They do vegan options for those who don't want meat.

We ordered a basic bar meal.. The food was acceptable and the serving size was generous. Nothing fancy but good value for money.

I like this place because it is an ordinary pub serving good beer & reasonable food. It has a large sunny garden area and regular live music. Long may good ordinary pubs like this continue - they need your support!

Can’t comment on the hotel aspect of the Anchor . . . . . but doesn’t look good reading the reviews 🙄🤐?? However - the food in the bar/restaurant is brilliant. I like the relaxed atmosphere, dogs allowed, comfy seating, cheerful staff, easy parking, sensible pricing etc, etc. Our Sunday Roasts were amazing today. Every single thing on our plate was cooked to perfection . . . . . . there is a genius in the kitchen. Basic weekday menu - but well cooked. Burgers were awesome! Think we have found a new ‘local’ 👍

Had to be moved from outside rooms as the windows didn't open. Had to get another kettle as this didn't work. The rooms smell. Mould in the bathroom scabby old furniture. Although the staff were friendly and helpfull. Overall I'd find somewhere else

Having lived in Byfleet for eight years, this is the first time we've been in here. I wouldn't describe the exterior of the pub as being especially appealing and in the summer, there seems to be an army of people permanently smoking outside. This had created a perception of this place that I am very pleased to say was quite wrong. We went for Sunday lunch. We had three roasts and my daughter had a childrens' chicken nuggets - and barely anything was returned. There isn't a massive range of dishes on the menu, but there were a few additions on the specials board, which should mean there's something for everyone. The food was well cooked and tasty. The best bit is the price - we managed four meals, drinks, a starter and a desert for less than £30, which was a real bonus. The pub also looks a lot nicer inside than it does from outside. The staff were very friendly and helpful - we will certainly come back.

I live locally and was interested in trying out somewhere different. My friends and I often visit pubs for lunch or dinner for a catch up. Someone had recommended vising the Blue Anchor to my friend, so we thought we would give it a try and I am so glad we did! The staff are really friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming. The food was delicious with great service and not a bad price either! We enjoyed it so much we stayed there for about 4 hours for after dinner drinks. I am going back there on sunday to try out their roast! Highly recommend.

As another reviewer said the Pub looks a little shabby from the outside, but it is much better inside and the garden is great. Very child friendly with lots to keep then kids amused and safe as has gates. The food is really good, inexpensive and lots of it. I had a roast one Sunday and was delicious. If you are in the area, would be worth popping in.

Basic pub food. Good for a cheap meal, but don't expect fine dinning. Even though I would recommend the curry night.

From the outside, the Blue Anchor pub in Byfleet (erroneously listed as West Byfleet on Trip Advisor) looks like a typically shabby pub, but this belies the incredible homemade food served. The first hint comes from the restricted menu, as any foodie will tell you, a small menu generally means quality freshly prepared food, and this is certainly the case here. The "gourmet burger" is genuinely homemade, from beef (not cheap mince), plus crispy bacon and real melted cheddar cheese in a toasted bun and is served with a real side salad, great real chips, and the best coleslaw (made by the in house chef) I have ever tasted. The pasta bolognaise is served with real garlic bread, again not frozen processed junk. Okay, don't expect cordon bleu, but if you want great quality at ridiculously low prices, and very comfortable leather armchairs in real English pub, this is worth a stop for lunch!

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in- dirty and run down. And it was suppose to include breakfast and when we asked the less than friendly bar man the night before, he said there might be a box of conrflakes knocking around just help yourself. Please do not stay here, we can recommend the Coach & Horses or the Thyme at the Taven in Chertsey both clean, friendly and better value for money.

The Blue Anchor has a tired feel about it and it could do with a good spruce up. The food was fine nothing special but perfectly acceptable in view of the price we paid. A good choice on the menu. The service was average. It lacked any real ambience

The Blue Anchor in the village of Byfleet is both a restaurant, hotel and has a private function room. We have eaten in the pub/restaurant several times and have found the food the be cooked nicely and the prices are very reasonable. Last time one of us have Lamb Shank and the other Cheesy Cottage Pie both were very tasty. The interior has very little appear and it could do with some sprucing up. It is not the cleanest place we have ever visit. The service was fine they just got on with the job . It is best described and efficient rather than welcoming. We can recommended for a good value nice meal.

We enjoyed ciabatta and prawn sandwiches . Chips good too. Coffee fine , Understaffed cafe but service ok plus. Quite good quality. Popular place. Plenty of parking caused us to dine at Squires rather than a Woking town restaurant.
