Penang Curry was OK, taste was good only let down by the tough beef. Sweet & Sour chicken was excellent as was the real chips. There was 25% off for cash and a £3.50 corkage for BYO which made the whole experience affordable and enjoyable. Sort the beef out and this place would be unbeatable.

Had a christmas meal there last night. The sharing platter was delicious and the main course was all you could want for a christmas dinner. The service staff were fantastic, with a good knowledge of the Thai menu for those wanting something different

This place used to be pretty good but it’s gone downhill. Upstairs needs a make over (carpets need lifted) While service is friendly the food and surroundings let it down upstairs. Corkage was a bit steep. While my dish was ok (Chicken cashew) my partners was not very good, think it was called Thai Beef Salad. Place needs a revamp and find its fizz again.

Ok, so, food was delicious. It always is. Service was poor. 3 times my son had a drink spilt over him. Orders not written down correctly. Drinks had to be sent back as they were either flavourless or not what we ordered. No music in the restaurant so the atmosphere was lacking. But, the food being good helps to lift the experience a little.

I ordered potato skins two portions and 3 main courses.i have waited 45in and only got the food whe I ask for it. Potato skins taste was like old potato cooked long time ago and re heated horrible do I returned them right after first taste. Still payed for it. No one even noticed that.when I payed the bill I asked why service was so bad today and the waitress told me that big table come before us and they needed to be served first. My advice? Tell you clients as information next time that they must wait 45 minutes before they even get any food.

Ordered the long and slow cooked brisket.... it was hard and dry so wasnt eaten. When the waitress came to clear and asked was everything ok I said about it she's replied oh sorry about that I'll tell the chef... it wasn't mentioned again when they brought the meal or offered a discount so I payed 16 quid for a few garlic chips

I can only speak for myself. I have had excellent food here. Didn't mind waiting on it as was so good. And the young staff that served me were attentive to any thing I asked. My experience of. Food and service. V,satisfactory result. Thanku BLU BUDDHA.

The food is absolutely excellent. The kitchen is "on display" - nothing hidden. Thai and "American" menus. Choose from either or both. No licence but you can bring your own and pay a small corkage. Good atmosphere and friendly, helpful, engaged staff.

Went to the blu Buddha and having had authentic Thai food I was a bit underwhelmed. Portions were good however it was just lacking that real Thai flavour you get in Thailand, food was spicy but it could have been any Asian spicy. Also I would suggest that you go early as a lot of the dishes we ordered were not available. We were there at 7:30 but there was no soup available. Staff were great and very knowledgeable about the food that sadly was not available.

Really really bad service wait 1.5 hours for our food and when the food arrived was full of salt not edible. Never again

Enjoyed my burger though served on cold plate so not warm enough food towards end of meal. Main issue was incessantly coughing member of staff who was serving people's meals. And I mean incessant, not just occasional! That young lady should not have been at work, especially in a restaurant.

Just awful. We went out for my birthday dinner. It wasn't until we ordered that we were informed that ribs were off the menu as they sold out the day before. Instead I ordered the smoked brisket at £14.95 before side orders. I wish I could tell you that it was nice but I sent it back for two reasons. One, the plate was literally one slice of brisket and a small ramekin of coleslaw. That's all. The chips looked like they were the scrapings from yesterday. The kids food?, one burger was dry, the other was fine and again the chips were scraps. I came to this place with really high expectations and left totally disappointed. I will never be back nor will I recommend it.

Lovely friendly staff, nice atmosphere, chose the Thai Green curry… great choice!! Second time there had the Thai Beef Salad… see the menu. Not exactly sure what it was… more like a beef stew?? Confused. Although the words rice and salad are mentioned on the menu, there is no salad or rice?? Still confused by the name of this dish, so next time I’m there, I’ll try the red curry 👍🏻😁

We ordered a takeaway £25 for delivery. No sign of order after 1.5hrs. So rang to check. Was told we didn't specify delivery in spite of giving address and stating it 3 times and even making sure they included the delivery fee. Food arrived half hour later... Stone cold and with half order incomplete... no rice and the wrong dish ... oh and soggy burnt chips. Wrong back and was told by Oliver, the owner that it would be corrected. Further he later I rang to be told there was no order coming. I asked for refund (legal right) and told manager had gone home (9.30pm) and only he could authorise refund. I asked to speak to the manager but evidently he was authorised for refunds. I brought the 'food' back to restaurant for refund and was given contents of tip jar... £7 short of order value. 3 tragedies 1. we didn't eat and were £7 out of pocket 2. this must be the 10th time we have had a wrong or incomplete order - they are the single worst Front of House service by a long way. 3. Biggest tragedy of all - they make the tastiest food. Their dishes and chef are great kitchen. But never again. I read many Facebook reviews and they sadly say the same. If you eat in then you will have a good meal. If you want a Thai take away then try Camille for cost and promptness. Try Tuk Tuk for quality but don't use Blu Buddah

Last minute decision to try here on a Wednesday evening and no regrets. Got the 2 for 1 offer on the burgers instead of the 25% cash discount deal (booking advised and check offer times). Thai menu available too (next time)

Takeaway- Average. Positive-quick on the delivery. The meat is good, though Ribs were tips and not long full ribs as you'd expect. Chips are horrible- weird taste and too many 'crispies'. Oversalty. Coleslaw had a funny taste, smelled/tasted garlicky which is odd. Onion rings soggy, too much batter. Overall not great.

We were in on Sunday 24th November Staff very rude and really disrespectful Spent most of the time on there mobile phone taking photos of customers & laughing Ordered the brisket which should be soft and usually falling off the fork But it was tough and hard to eat Really need new staff or training as the girls working here are just plain ignorant !!

Absolutely appalled at the service and hospitality we received. Staff were extremely rude and where on their phones constantly. The food was cold and undercooked. We had 3 different waiters and the menus were practically thrown at us. Extremely disappointed because I had heard good things but unfortunately it was far from what we had expected. I will not be back!

Had a meal tonight from the Thai menu. Absolutely outstanding. The chicken satay is the best satay dish I have ever tasted. Nothing beats it! The green Thai curry was delicious . All in all , food and service was impeccable. Will definitely be back and would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys Thai food.

Gluten Free not best options. Staff not wearing masks, no hand sanitiser- empty, poor cleanliness of the tables, floor filthy. Saturday afternoon, busy, extremely noisy group in the corner. On arrival no sanitiser in the dispenser, staff not bothered? Staff not wearing masks!!!Food options for Gluten Free, BBQ options okay without the sauce? What’s the point. Thai options more available. The food arrived and was tasty. Would I return, No. I can get a Thai meal elsewhere in a cleaner environment with COVID responsible staff. Look elsewhere.

Absolutely great food, but only found out that the 25% discount was for cash only (not advertised anywhere), so had to go to the bank and get cash. Not complaining too much, but with COVID I thought that e-transaction was recommended!

Just ordered a meal via Just Eat from Blu BBQ - arrived ahead of time - hot - great value - full of flavour - and would highly recommend anyone to try. We ordered from Thai range absolutely delicious.

Amazing experience and the food is to die for, the Thai upstairs is unreal and to be 1 of 3 places in ireland to have Singha draft is class as its super nice as a pint and not out of the bottle.

Never had Thai food before and honestly I would back there again tomorrow. Food was to die for and the beer was amazing and the staff were very accommodating. One of the best places in Bangor hands down

Love Blu BBQ, great food and good value, if you can’t decide what bbq dishes you want you can order from the fantastic Thai menu, papaya salad is my favourite. Lovely traditional Sunday Roast is excellent.

Two dishes were decent, although not authentically Thai. The third dish was inedible and when we tried to contact them privately they put the phone down twice. I hate creating negative reviews, i know how difficult it is to run a business, just deal with complaints.

Ordered a prawn Panang curry and they failed to include the fishing net to catch them ....it was pretty much a curry soup in the whole...rang BBT to speak fairly about the disappointment only to be received by a dismissive male whose’s lack of understanding and customer service was in fact outstanding and was the only thing that sadly ,did not disappoint.Next time I’ll save the £33 for a meal for two and buy curry sauce and boil rice myself....It’s the attitude of the male thats promoted me to take this redress to warn the general public and local residents like myself at this time to spend their precious money wisely.....

First time to visit Blu BBQ and won’t be the last. As well as excellent quality food the staff were warm and friendly. If I had a fault portions were nearly too large but that’s a great fault !! Would highly recommend, think anyone with teenage boys with a great appetite would benefit from the great food and portions I enquired about gluten free and cealic and that can be accommodated. So I can make this somewhere for a family gathering.

Well to start with all went well (for the first few minutes), as we were met by the waitress and received a glass of water, but from there onwards it just went downhill. I ordered a beer (off the menu) but the waitress said that they don't sell that brand (ordered something else). I then order a burger but got the wrong one, and when we asked for the bill, that was also wrong (twice). So hope that everyone check there bill when they offer a special. We will try them again but if I have a repeat experience will never be back.

We went to Thai budda for our wedding anniversary as we love Thai food, and we weren't disappointed. The starters are big portions, especially the chicken satay skewers and the satay sauce is to die for! You need to try the drunken noodles they are delicious, and not too spicy. The atmosphere is so relaxing and you can byob (bring your own bottle) which is a plus as the drinks can be expensive. On the whole is was an excellent choice, and we can't wait to return.

Was advised that "This isn't a restaurant to sit and drink"and "we're also advising you that there are children on the premises" whilst ordering food for absolutely no reason. Just horrible people, food was average at best. Wouldnt touch it with a 20ft pole covered in sh*t.

Great to have a proper Thai food with a an experienced Thai chef in this restaurant that also offers good quality bbq food and they have a traditional Sunday roast lunch . Considering how difficult it is to find genuine Thai cooking ingredients this restaurant does a good job with their Thai menu unlike so many poor Asian Restaurants in the area . The Tom Yam Kung spicy Prawn soup was good and I recommend the Kaeng Phet Chicken .It was not too spicy but you can request if you want it with more spice. My Thai beer and pint of Guiness were both good. The restaurant is decorated to a high standard with interesting Thai and local artifices and it has very comfortable seating and is spotlessly clean . There is an attractive roof garden and well spaced seating over 2 floors .The staff are very friendly and attentive and all the all the service is excellent. I left something in the restaurant and they raced out just in time to return it to me. The restaurant seems to be well managed. It is a little expensive but worth it as the food quality and size of helpings is good. I intended to go back soon to try their western Sunday Roast Lunch and will bring my Thai wife when she arrives soon.

Just received our carry out from The Blue Buddha ( Thai). It was delivered on time and was just the best tasting Thai curry I have ever had . This is a must try and I will definitely be ordering again and when this is all over I look forward to a good night out on the premises.Please try as it’s fantastic

We decided to treat ourselves to take out from blu bbq. For the prices charged I was expecting restaurant standard food. This unfortunately was not the case. The first thing we noticed was how greasy and oily it all seemed. I had order the bbq chicken thinking this was lovely seasoned bbq chicken . Wrong it was a dry half chicken with oily skin and thick bbq sauce dumped on top of the horrible skin. Yuk was only way to describe it. This cost £12.50 and was revolting. The chips were again oily and not well cooked. My husband's chicken burger was not much better. Some great reviews about this place and maybe it's nice sitting in when food is fresh but it doesn't translate well into take away food. Not the place for us.

Corona lockdown and thought we would try the Sunday roast dinner and we were not disappointed. I had phoned the order in the previous day and asked for it to be delivered between 5.30-6.00 And at 5.45 it was at the door. The food was hot and the roast tender the mass spot on along with the roast potatoes Yorkshire pudding and mixed veg with jus.The overall portions were a good platefull and the price reasonable.

visited here for a family meal on a sunday and the food and service were great. Its a great offer to give kids meals free on a sunday, a great enticement. The only disappointing thing was the unavailability of things even basics like sparkling water.The menu offers a great selection enven the menu from the Thai restaurant upstairs so it can take a while to decide what you want.

2 for 1 burgers are great. WARNING about the Thai upstairs - they put mouth-melting amounts if hot chilli on the side salad.

Seven of us booked for Sunday evening and once again we weren’t disappointed. We’d a wheelchair and high chair as well, but once again the manager and staff catered for our every need. The food itself is always outstanding and although they were very busy considering the time of year, we weren’t kept waiting too long between courses. To all those complaining about waiting for a minute or two.. it takes time to prepare and cook your food.. if you want Fast Food, go to KFC!!! So if you’re in Bangor you must give Blu Bbq a shout. We can’t wait to return. Thanks Guys.

Loved our previous meals at Blu bbq/blu Buddha. However my last two visits were disappointing. First one Thurs evening 12 Dec - No Cmas menu on even though we got it last year. We were told big party on next day so all turkey dinners saved for that?? Then Sat lunch 14 Dec - again no Cmas menu or crackers etc. Come on. Keep your regular customers happy!! Stuart doing his best as usual and a good host.

My mum went with ten of her friends the food was awful my mum and two others ordered the fish and chips when they arrived the fish was cold that hard u could not cut it she called waitress over got it changed for a burger instead it was that raw it should be still walking in the field the manager on was rude not very helpful with a argument he cancelled three of the meals of the bill my mums group had paid 80 pounds deposit when the bill arrived they had not taken this into consideration and the excuse for the red burgers ie raw was they put tomatoes in the burger mix sorry it’s terrible food won’t be back a disgrace also was very dirty the restaurant needs a good clean I ended up paying 80 pounds bill for crap I should have went accriss the road .

it has been quite a long time since we were here and I'd forgotten how good the food was. There is a great choice to suit all tastes. My son likes fiery hot, he had the Jungle Curry, which has a real kick due to the fresh green peppercorns. My other son's girlfriend is vegan and she had a vegetable massaman curry, mild, which she very much enjoyed. Portions are generous and the staff are very friendly and helpful. You can buy a range of drinks from the bar or bring your own if you prefer. As is typical in Thai restaurants the food is prepared fresh to order which entails a bit of a wait, something to bear in mind if you're moving on afterwards. I do have one minor complaint - it would be nice if drinks orders were taken as soon as you are seated, rather than having to wait till the waitress comes to take the food order, otherwise everything was great. We will definitely be back sooner rather than later.

Been to Blu bbq numerous times and have to confess the Thai food is probably the best in N. Ireland. However the steak can be a bit hit or miss. The night we went it was definitely a miss.. tough and full of gristle served with emulsified butter posing as garlic sauce. Not for the steak lovers... however it will not put me off as the Thai more than makes up for any deficiencies in the steak offering.
