Best tasting coffee we've ever had! Flat white, asked for the little pot of hot milk as one of the coffees was abit low, was charged extra £1 for this! Never been charged for milk here when needed, is this new now? Food always very good and sourdough used is the best.

Love it here, obsessed with the French toast and the coffee is so good. Lovely service too!

Delicious food with loads of brunch choices, you are spoilt for choice. French Toast was huge and really different, coffee was delicious. Lovely outdoor seating area, friendly staff, would definitely return!

If you’re a coffee snob like me there is only 2 places I have found so far that stack up . Bloc and Holme Coffee Shop. These places are all about coffee and the food they offer accompanies the coffee .

A really disappointing experience 11 months ago due to staff shortages and no service but back to its best and back to its original name. Lovely carrot cake and coffee. Would highly recommend. (Thank you for your response below Chris.) It would have been helpful when we arrived and were given menus that you were understaffed and that there would be a significant wait time.)

Such a cute place, so cosy yet bright and airy. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the tiffin I had was delicious. Most importantly the coffee (decaf latte) was the perfect strength, temperature (not too hot) and thickness (not too thick or thin), soooo tasty. Didn't order other food but the French toast/beans on toast/eggs & avocado on toast looked insane. Would highly recommend if you're in the area.

My wife and I called here today and what a very pleasant dining experience we had the staff and restaurant were absolutely fantastic the food was 5 Stars we sat outside on the decked area we will most definitely be returning thank you to all your wonderful staff ..

Lovely cafe in a ideal spot, right in the centre of Holmfirth. Good selection of food and drinks. Reasonable prices, good service and a garden next door to sit in if the cafe is full. Waiter/waitress service too.

My coffee was amazing, my friend and her daughter shared one of the brownie slices which went down a treat. Huge portion of brownie, gutted I didn't get one myself.

Fantastic breakfast. The menu consists mostly of "Stuff on toast" - I had avocado and halloumi on sourdough, served with a little chilli salsa and it was divine. I really should make the effort to go more often! Excellent coffee too.

Bloc Café is flooded with light and cheerful in the extreme, could be likened to a prozac over exposure, due to the café being made of large floor to ceiling windows, unfortunately the view is of the main road which is always busy, but non the less it's always a pleasure to be able to look out and daydream with your coffee cup. The menu is uncomplicated yet unique everything is done to an ultra modern perspective and is quite delightful and very satisfying. Ladies, if you are in need of a sugar rush (and you know what I'm talking about) Bloc is the best place for that sort of emergency, the cakes are quirky, tasty, and beautifully presented Bloc cakes are uber. Therefore I highly recommend Bloc.

Reasonable price, shame they don't do poached eggs.

A wonderful little cafe in the centre of Holmfirth that is very contemporary and would not look out of place in York or Brighton !! (Would get five stars if opening hours we're a little longer)

Last two visits refused to sell me a coffee even though 30 mins before closing. E.g. 2.30 pm on Sunday 12th Sep. Full of staff who just said we are closing early. To be fair coffee is really nice hence driving 30 mins to get here. Won’t be doing it again. Feels like the pandemic is now just an excuse for poor customer service and customers just need to grin and bear it.

Visited today and really enjoyed avocado & haloumi on sourdough with a really yummy salsa. Coffee good and staff really friendly... only suggestion, husband would have liked mushrooms on toast but he enjoyed his french toast. Thanks. Highly recomend a visit.

Had an amazing breakfast with my fiancé I had sausage egg and bacon on a lovely toasted slice of bread and my partner had beautiful presented Avocado egg on toasted bread. Friendly service great coffee fantastic place to have a great breakfast before your walks in the Peak District.

On a recent visit to Holmfirth on a showery day we called into Bloc. It was busy on a Sunday morning serving mainly breakfasts which looked great. We only had coffees but it was nice and I would recommend it. Service friendly and helpful.

We had the simple fare of beans on toast. One had cheese grilled over the top. Very nice, well presented, & friendly service to clean tables. Well patronised. Good choice of foods on offer for all tastes. Thank you once again.

When we mentioned to friends we were visiting Holmfirth they suggested we went to get treats from here, and warned us that they sell out quickly.We ended up getting there quite late and there was literally only 2 items left (which we obviously bought!)Got a deep filled cookie cup and a KitKat blondie.(Apologies for the rubbish photo, the chocolate had melted but the time we got them home)Both were very very nice. And although I initially thought they were quite expensive, they were a large size and took a while to eat.Will definitely be back next time we're in Holmfirth, but hopefully we'll get there earlier so have a bigger choice (and can buy more than two!)

Ideal cyclist friendly spot with extremely helpful and friendly staff even on a swelteringly hot and busy day. Bike parking could be an issue but even as a large group of 9 we made it work. Food was excellent and arrived quickly. Faultless

The best local cafe for a decent coffee. Good size latte and not watered down and weak like some of the larger coffee chains.

The regular cappuccino was average on taste and barely strong enough. Regular it was not, small most definitely.

The regular cappuccino was average and not the strongest, to call it regular I would say is misleading, it is much nearer to small. I have added a photo twice, and twice somebody has removed it.

Poncy, pretentious and expensive.. Watch out, the cakes are generous portions and tasty but they are £4 each ... They are closed Mon and Tues and then open only 9-2 midweek right now (Oct 2020)..Talk about a bunch of part timers ! They make very easy to make food and charge you horrendous amounts to sit in their tiny , virtually impossible to social distance safely, tin box with windows . Novelty items include a £10 footpump for cycling people..and outside areas If your a tourist in the spring/ summer it's probably ok to visit but for locals its far too expensive for what it is ..

Smelt as though they were burning things, e pensive and didn't get very good service either. Wont be returning.

Enjoyed my first visit here recently. Thankfully it was a dry day so we were sat outside.I ordered bacon, egg and avocado on toast and asked about choices of sauce - to which I was recommended the sweet chilli salsa. That salsa made the dish. Yum!My little one enjoyed his babyccino and marshmallows too. Coffee was spot on and lived up to its reputation.Note for parents/guardians of babies and small children: they have a limited amount of high chairs and there’s not much room for big prams. They are very accommodating though and will try seat you somewhere suitable but due to social distancing and the size of the place it’s a little bit snug.Thanks to the team who looked after us during our visit.

Called in with my wife for Sunday breakfast. Small but great, healthy menu (apart from the dreamy desserts). Extremely tasty food, brilliant service and welcoming atmosphere.

We have been here every time we visit Holmfirth and have loved it every time , however I feel a little disappointed after visiting yesterday I put a review on in February with a photo of my breakfast and then had this yesterday in comparison there’s a big difference) there was only a small amount of yogurt with a few blueberries and also frozen berries at £6:95 I feel that this overpriced for what it is it was nice but not worth the price , I had a granola bowl elsewhere this morning for £2 less a bigger portion and with fresh berries , staff are always really love and friendly but if the breakfast is not great then you will look elsewhere

If you like things on toast and coffee, this place is the bomb. Their flat white is the best I've tasted. Cheese on toast, beans on toast, eggs and bacon in toast. It's not like you do at home though. Nice fancy bread, presented well, nice service very very nice it is too. Seems to attract cyclists if that's your thing. Cool place

We’ll long remember Bloc as it’s where we had our first takeaway cappuccinos as lockdown first eased. We were about to start the next 10-mile leg of the Peak District Boundary Walk, starting at Holme, just west of Holmfirth, and coffee from Bloc set us up perfectly. Dead friendly, popular (especially with cyclists - always a top recommendation), well-organised even though they’d only just reopened with all the then-new sanitising and social distancing rules, and great coffee. Top coffee shop as far as we were concerned! Hope they’ve continued to do really well - they deserve to.

Staff were great - all wearing masks, happy to take order and payment outside, hand sanitizer on arrival, so we didn't have to go in and we could take away. Coffee piping hot which is a rare luxury in UK. Welcoming to cyclists and walkers. Loved it.

This modern looking Coffee House & Kitchen serves a good cup of coffee and yummy crispy bacon/egg on thick tasty toast. Staff very friendly and on the ball!

The sun came out in Holmfirth today. The bright modern design of this place drew us to it as a great place to enjoy an uptick in the weather!! We weren’t disappointed. Fantastic locally roasted coffee and excellent tray bakes combined with warm and attentive service. All enjoyed in this lovely stylish modern setting watching Holmfirth life and sunshine too!!!!

Stopped off for a quick takeout coffee on our trip. The atmosphere is lovely and relaxed. They have an air pump you can use for your bike tire outside, if that's your sort of thing. The service was quick and friendly and the coffee was very good. The cafe is breastfeeding friendly. Vegan options for food and drink were available, with oat and coconut milk options. Parking very close to the cafe and the car park is only £0.20 per 30 minutes.

Went for breakfast one Saturday morning. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. My partner had avacado, halloumi with salsa which was delicious. I had avacado, fried egg and bacon as an extra with chilli; this too was delicious. The bacon was so wonderfully crisp. My partner likes the Americano which is a little strong for me; the capacinno is nice. This gets quite busy but I’ve never had to wait too long.

Called in for coffee, nice place, outside seating for dog owners. Dog water bowl cleaned and filled when I arrived. Covers fo the cold people on all chairs. Local so I've been a few times. friendly staff, very helpful.

Arrived for a coffee and a hot chocolate at 15:45, with my 2 year old daughter, was told that they'd shut already, supposed to be open till 16.00. Poor show, went to Longleys instead.

Coffee and tea were good, food really disappointing, the 3 cheese was rubbery and the hullumi was not cooked just browned, and asked for soft eggs fried but were overdone. The food was like just eating rubber bands wouldn't recommend or go back, but the staff were very nice and friendly, so would have coffee but nothing else

Have sat in the traffic outside this place so many times and wondered whether it was as good as it looks. Went in today for breakfast - and it is! Excellent locally roast coffee, locally baked bread (I had the sourdough, it was excellent) with a whole range of toppings. Really busy on a Saturday morning when we visited but we’ll definitely be back for more.

What a lovely restaurant. We visited on a Sunday afternoon in October, Husband, daughter (11) and dog.We sat outside, and loved the mini heaters above the table, that kept us all word. A nice touch, was having a blanket over each chair, if you needed to wrap up a little bit more.My daughter had toast, with chocolate spread. The bread was fresh doorstep slices with lots of spread,my daughter loved it.My husband went for the special. Black pudding, fried eggs, toast...the ingredients went on. Absolutely stunning presentation, and he gave it 10/10.I had the eggy bread,bacon and egg. The bacon was stunning,crispy yet not burnt Top Mark's from us all, we will be back!Dog friendly too, which makes the perfect place to have a nice meal after one of the lovely walks around Holmfirth.

Came here whilst I waited for the other half to get his hair cut and i can’t believe I’ve not been before! The food is gorgeous, I ordered eggy bread off the specials board and the portion was big (perhaps too big for a mid morning snack). The coffee was lovely and strong. Will be returning soon.
