Blasus Delicatessen in Carmarthenshire

My wife and I have just tried the four cheeses I recently purchased from you,along with some Malbec wine, grapes, cheese biscuits, Greek olives and home made beetroot chutney.The four cheeses consisted of:Manchego,Carephilly, Hafod and a mild Stilton all as equally nice due to their differing texture and flavour.We will be trying the cooked meats along with the olives and of course the cheese on our next visit.Best wishesJenny and Keith

What a beautiful place.....the cheese selection is outstanding (Montgomery cheddar being an absolute fav!) and the sliced meat really is divine. Things like the fresh pesto, the chilli jam, the mix of top quality pate and selection of olives, not to mention the Welsh home cooked breads, makes this place worth a visit 10 times over. That, together with the knowledge and friendliness of the owners and staff, easily put this place up there with the best. Oh.....and did I mention the wine?!

My wife and I popped in today for a lunchtime snack and walked out with a couple of baguettes - smoked duck for me salami goats cheese fig for her. Top notch! I would say mine was one of the best baguettes I have eaten. A pleasure to see a fine selection of cheese's and deli. Thank you. Paul & Christine Pembroke.

Just popped in here for some takeaway sandwiches en route to the seaside. Was really impressed with the beautiful selection of meats, cheeses, and accompaniments. The takeaway sandwiches were fresh and so artfully prepared, lovely flavour combinations you can’t find at your average delicatessen. My 7 year old daughter is a picky eater and the woman working there was more than happy to make a “bespoke” salami baguette for her. She was also really friendly and kind, what a lovey find on our holiday. I should’ve bought some cheese as well, what a missed opportunity! They all looked divine!

Great place for a takeaway lunch. Delicious baguettes with a very good range of quality fillings. Lovely range of cheeses, olives, breads etc. Highly recommended. It is not a restaurant but a good quality deli.

We shop here weekly as the cheese is scrumptious, as are the balsamic vinegar, sandwiches, olives, hummus and generally everything they sell. Paul and the rest always know a good deal about their products and they have always been very patient with my children eating the samples offered!

This is my go to place for artisan bread baked on premises and lovely sweet (almond and frangipane) and savory (goat cheese with red onion) tartlets 😃 amazing cheese selection and very knowledgeable and helpful staff 😁

They say you get what you pay for and that's what you get here. The bread is superb. Range of cheeses is brilliant and the welsh cheddar we bought today is out of this world. Great range of pickles, mustard and wines. Lovely people with a love of great good offering good service. We will be visiting again asap, or as soon as the mustard we bought runs out, so not long either way.

Blasus means Tasty in Welsh. This place is Absolute class. What a lovely selection of quality products. From the fragnant Sumatra Espresso coffee beans to the delicious sun dried tomato and big olives. The terrific camembert selection goes well with the warm freshly baked bread. Enjoy Chorizo cheese baguettes to your heart’s content.

Was recommended to go there by a friend for cheese. It has a good if not large selection of cheeses, Welsh and Continental. Not the cheapest of delicatessen, but who are? Standard deli foods on offer. The cheese was excellent by the way.

It has a modern feel in an old fashion sort of way. Light and airy surroundings with energetic and friendly staff. Very good home made food at reasonable prices. Something on the menu for every taste, but get there early of you want a home made scotched egg, which are the best. Tea and home made cake is another winner. You won,t be disappointed.

I go here about once a month to grab lunch whilst working in a local gallery. I love to grab a baguette filled with chorizo and cheese and much more, their cheeses are delicious, as are all the other ingredients. A fabulous deli and great to visit if you're searching for some unique ingredients.

You must try the Chorizo Sausage Rolls and a coffee! I regularly pop in for sandwiches and the staff are so friendly offering wine tastings and knowledge about the cheeses

My husband and I accompanied our friends on a daytrip to carmarthen from Pembroke. The window displayed some good looking food, but going in was a waste of time, everything was very overpriced and weren't that special. We found atleast two other nicer and cheaper places in Carmarthen town, including the market. The staff were miserable and quite abrupt. We questioned a few items out of interest and we felt as though we were beneath them and weren't worthy of their time, as if we should already know. This left us embarrassed Not sure how this place is still going to be honest, but its impressive how it is with those prices and bad attitudes.

what a find this place is. All the food on offer has that artisan feel about it. The selection of breads, cheese, hams, etc was just mindblowing and when you taste the breads, its how all foods should taste like. Staff so helpful and King Street is a must place to visit for any food lovers,thank you for a wonderful foodies lunch/dinner, amazing. We got everything to takeaway

Excellent deli where all the food is well cared for especially the cheese. Always served with a smile, amazing tasters on the cabinet top enticing one to buy extras which usually works! So lucky to have a top end deli in Carmarthen.

I like to buy the excellent bread here - the cheeses are also excellent and you can try anything you would like - helpful staff.

This is like a sweet shop for adults! It's hard to come out of this deli without buying more than you intended to. Lovely range of cheese and knowledgeable friendly staff. Well worth a visit.

I popped into Blasus on Christmas Eve as we needed bread and i had to walk past to get to the bank. The bread was delicious and i was tempted by the Spanish jason and also the Barolo wine they had. Lots of goodies in there - shame its the New Year now and i have to be good :-(

This is the place to buy your cheese: but it's difficult to escape with just that, when there's such a selection of delicious delicacies on offer and staff that will discourse very knowledgeably on what they sell and always seem to know exactly what you would like.

This man knows his onions, his cheese, his wine and his fig & almond slices...I called in on my way to Tenby and was blown away by the choice and the quality of the produce on sale. Carmarthen has a real gem right in the heart of it's own artisan food amphitheatre. The herb infused ham is incredible, I should have bought loads more than i did. The Sicilian baby tomatoes with a little sea salt and (Welsh) cider vinegar on them are life changing! Thanks Blasus, top top stuff!

Very good range of cheese and general grocery products. Will definitely be going back as they were very knowledgeable and offered that I could try anything I wanted.

Blasus literally means "tasty" and the amazing range of cheeses and artisan breads means that an extra special "snack" can almost become a feast! Thoroughly recommended.

Blasts is a great place for olives, cheeses, wine, salami, ground coffee and all those little treats.

Blasus in Welsh means tasty and this smart delicatessen in King's Street most certainly is, here you will find freshly baked bread, home made quiche, an amazing range of cheeses, delicious antipasto and a wide variety of international gourmet food and wines. A must find shop for any true foodie with friendly helpful service.

Best coffee in town, and the freshly cooked Chorizo sausage roll in puff pastry is the best. Great cheese selection to suit all tastes.Good job.

Amazing deli items and great service. Filled bagettes are delicious and the olives succulent and fresh. Lovely range of cheeses. I look forward to visiting and buying my luncj whenever my work takes me in Carmarthen town.

I went in at a quiet time in the afternoon, having skipped breakfast and lunch. The baguettes had sold out but Bill made me one of his specials. He has got better and better at knowing what flavours to combine for me and I have found that I can't quite get the proportions right if I buy the same ingredients and do it myself. A bespoke baguette made by Bill is one of the great pleasures. Blasus ingredients, Bill's flair. You can't get better. Thank you Bill.

Carmarthen is moving into a different class of shops and shopping when estsblishments like Blasus open and stay open, well done!They offer a mouthwatering selection of excellent deli produce and are knowledgable about their goods as well. I love going in sometimes just to see what they have on the counter to taste.I bet like me you find it difficult to leave without some purchase or other. My last visit I ended up with the most delicious blue cheese from the Auvernge. Their speciality breads and beers are not to be missed either!

One of the best delis I have ever been to. Superb bread, brilliant wine, wonderful chese!this place was a life saver when we were in Camarthen doing a 'job from hell' a couple of years ago. The staff were great, and obviously loved food, which after all is the point of a business like this. I like the minimalist approach like Chandos, where the staff eat the food, and know about it. Jamie Olivers would be like this if it was Jamie Oliver behind the counter in one shop not just a chain. I think these guys deserve a good food award!

On any visit to Carmarthen, I always go into Blasus. Whether to go straight there or save it until I am about to leave is the hardest decision. The cheese counter is brilliant. A pallet regularly arrives from an affineur in France and the cheeses are in perfect condition. The staff get to know what you like and your cheese board will be worth a Michelin star. The shop is small but packed with delights. Whether I need a taste explosion baguette for lunch, or an interesting bottle of wine, or just a coffee and a pastry while I browse, this is the place to be. Shops this good a rare. The staff all have passion. We must support them to ensure they are still there for us. So next time you are looking at industrial products in a supermarket just think whether you would prefer something special.

This place is a small oasis in Carmarthen. Its packed full of excellent wine, cheese and deli goodies. This sort of business needs to be supported by locals if we want to have good quality produce in Carmarthen.

When I am in town during the day, I usually get a lunch baguette - they are really delicious and good value - stuffed with fillings, good bread. I also buy sourdough loaves of bread sometimes - and it does not have time to get stale in my house!! They have a great range of cheeses and offer taster cubes on the counter. I bought some cakes for an office birthday treat, ordered in advance, paid for over the phone and they were delivered promptly to the venue [three doors away and up a flight of stairs].
