Food is probably the best value for money you can get on steak in London! My only criticism is that the place is a little cramped and people kept bumping into my seat

Great Service, the Meat was cooked perfectly and the Ambiente is very nice too. We were able to make a Table Reservation on side (Monday, We Waited an Hour, exactly Like it was told us) - Happy to visited the Restaurant on our London Trip. Greetings from Germany

Great Sunday Roast...Best in London for a long time! And generous portions

I don’t know if we were just unlucky but I was quite underwhelmed by this place. Some definite positives - the service was good, friendly and helpful waiters and food and drinks arrived pretty promptly etc despite being busy, chips were great, but the meat was disappointing. We got the ‘All in’ shared platter. The lamb was very good but the other cuts were disappointing and we only had 3 very small portions of rump steak on it (we ordered a sharing platter for 5), which meant 1 piece being shared between 3 of us. Wanted it to be great but struggling to recommend. Perhaps the thick chops are better.

Another excellent evening at Blacklock. Little bites were tasty, brawn on toast starter excellent. Lamb chops not anything special but the pork chop was lovely and moist, which can be rare in pork. T-bone steak was good, although not as flavoursome as I’ve had on previous visits. Chocolate cheesecake superlative as always. Cocktails but hit and miss. Great service and atmosphere.

The experience was excellent - imaginative menu items, all beautifully cooked and prepared. Great service, especially considering how busy it was. The pig's head toast, mushrooms, skinny lamb chops and Ribeye steak were really top notch, as were the dripping chips. The broccoli and walnut salad was a masterpiece. We (5 of us) attended one of the last seating of the night on Feb 4, 2024 at 7:30pm and got the sunday roast that comes with all 3 meats and fixings. The meal at the time was delicious as it was my first time having sunday roast. That quickly change arouns 4am, when 1 of us started throwing up. Then I had terrible food poisoning in the morning around 9am, and lastly the 3rd person finally got it in the afternoon the next day. Needless to say, I can’t recommend this place unless you want to give yourself a valid excuse to be sick for 2 days in bed

Never disappoint it! We have the “All in” share plate and was fantastic and the generous amount of cheesecake in the end made our night finish with the best way! Been a Manager in Hospitality more than 10 years deffo believe is one of the best experiences I had in service the last a couple of years!

We arrived at 17:30 on Saturday and waited until 20:20 for a table. It wasn't worth the wait as the 'All In' was cheap cuts of meat and tiny 8cm pieces of steak. The veggie with us ate the halloumi, which was tiny and they were still hungry. The cheesecake was like slop, dolloped out into a bowl. When the bill came, they tried to charge us for the two sides that are supposed to be included with the 'All In' - unbelievable! I guess they were hoping we wouldn't notice in the super dim lighting. I wouldn't return here as it's not worth the wait; the 'All In' is cheap cuts and they tried to overcharge.

This place was pretty good. The service was relatively good. The “all in” main was great as it came with plenty of meat that was delicious. The cocktails were also fantastic and well made. The starters that came with the “all in” weren’t to my taste, as they seemed very strong. The cheesecake dessert was also delayed in coming out, and the restaurant is extremely noisy as it’s in a basement.

It was my first ever Sunday roast , the portion was huge and everything was really delicious . Service was great too . Would recommend .

Terrible waitress ☹️ Yesterday, I had a dinner at here. My mobile phone ran out of battery and I wanted to get help. A waitress was near me and I said "Excuse me" to her. She didn't respond so I assumed she didn't hear me (she ignored me). I kept talking and she suddenly turned around in anger. She said, "I'm busy, haven’t you see? “ The words were different, but the meaning was similar. I promise I freaked out. The manager saw this and rushed to help me. I was angry so I tried to talk to her after the meal because I felt she needed to apologise to me. But she told me, "Talk to the manager." And walked away. I wasn't even done talking. She was so rude. She is a blonde waitress and wear a golden glasses. The other waitresses, waiters and managers were friendly. The food wasn't bad either.

Prebites were gobsmacking! Also had the pigs head on toast which was great. Chops from the all-in were cooked very well and were of adequate quality and luscious quantity. Chop sauce is black pepper based and wasn’t a great compliment in tasting the various kinds of meat served.

Visited yesterday and was not disappointed. Had the All in option for 2 and was amazing. Meat was cooked really well. Had the broccoli and walnut salad too which is so simple but decilious and goes well with all the meat. Service was excellent (sorry can't remember our servers name for a shout out 😁) and already booked up for the canary wharf location for a birthday dinner 👍🏻 Oh and try the cheesecake, wow.

This place is fab! The meat was cooked to perfection, the sides were delicious and the bread and butter pudding was just out of this world . Bella, our server , was fantastic - she also gave some great cocktail bars recommendations for after . Loved everything about it and will definitely come back! So far, best meal of 2024 🤩

Am a visitor from far had to book it before the flight to London to make sure I get a table. Had the lamp and the beef too on a Sunday roast both plates were tasty meat was tender could cut the lamb just with a fork. The gravy on meat and vegetables was so *yummy. For sure a must place to visit

I was really looking forward to eating here and had made a reservation. When i arrived i was told the kitchen was closing in 15 minutes. Why take a reservation only to make your customers feel rushed and pressured. It was not enjoyable at all. The waitress was more anxious to get our order in so she could eat her staff meal. And unfortunately the meat was under seasoned and also a little bit gross and not worth the hype.

Great venue, with a really good vibe. Laidback but very helpful staff. Takes walk ins only if smaller group than 6 during dinner times. But you can register and then get a text when your table is ready so you can go and grab a drink or do a bit of shopping whilst you wait. Great menu and drinks selection. You definitely won’t be dissapointed and I can’t wait to go back and also maybe try some of their other outlets.

My new go to spot. Amazing burger, the gravy is great. The Blacklock lager is a perfect accompany to any meal. Can not wait to get back and try the entire menu.

Simply delicious. Very affordable. Worth a try! Their Sunday menu is definitely not a classic steak house menu. No medium-rare rib-eye. Instead, you will receive a large portion of grilled meat with fantastic vegetables, potatoes and bread. The atmosphere is good for a date or meeting with a friend.

You really can’t go wrong with Blacklock. All of their food is fantastic and the service from staff is excellent. Usually I’d suggest going for the all-in if you’ve never been before, that will keep you going! Had 850g porterhouse this time, and wow it was delicious. The chips are superb, sides are delectable. Go, treat yourself.

Faultless. Loved coming here pre Covid when we were just a couple. Came back (now with toddlers and all the associated baggage) and every single member of the couldn't be more helpful or accommodating. Even had help down the stairs with the pram from the chefs! Food was perfect, drinks too. 10 out of 10

Blacklock has really nice steak and wines. I also love the ambience. It made me feel like I’m in Victorian England and I loved it. It’s a great place to eat and chat over the meal with friends. However, the food and drinks are super pricey. I and two friends spent £83 on food and drinks. It’s a great place if high prices aren’t a problem for you

I booked a 3 seater for some friends and I, blacklock never disappoints with food but this location has extra good service. Whenever we needed someone they were there and the staff were also extremely personable and honestly added to the experience.

Dopo tanti posti provati a Londra e dintorni, alla fine abbiamo trovato quello che merita davvero. Personale gentile, app per le prenotazioni perfetta, cibo buono ambiente vibrante. Abbiamo ordinato carne e siccome era buona anche il bis, per finire ina cheesecake stratosferica. Mi hanno fatto fotografare anche la ricetta della cheesecake per poterla rifare a casa! Super consigliato.

Lovely food and service all around. Steaks are really nice and always cooked to desired temperature. Pig’s head on toast is an absolute MUST. My mother doesn’t really eat pork, but she comes to Blacklock to only eat that and nothing else!!

Twee sterren vanwege meest smerige toiletten “ooit”op eerste etage. Komt door bezoekers natuurlijk, maar kan ook worden “bijgehouden” . Sfeer verder prima en eten ook. Super vriendelijke bediening.

Although fully booked and we were a walkin, they offered to text us when a table was free which was ideal as we enjoyed a drink at a nearby bar. My phone was low on power and the front of house guy offered to charge it for me which was very kind. We had the all-in meat platter with a side of bone marrow, fantastic quality meat, and the flatbreads placed at the bottom of the platter to soak up all the juices was divine. We even looked up what butcher they use so we can order from them ourselves. I wish I could give more than 5 stars for the service because it was truly impeccable.

I had the black lock burger whilst dining here and it was delicious. A sumptuous bit of beef in their brioche bun. An absolute gem of a find and perfect for lunch or dinner. Followed by their homemade bread and butter pudding with custard and ice cream. It was a delightful dining experience, one which perfectly matched the business client I was hosting. All washed down with their home brew lager which was very good and easy to drink. Would highly recommend to eat here.

When you enter you would have to go down some stairs. If you have difficulty going down. This isn't the place to go, they do have other places in London. Great food always. The Food is soft and tender. We had the powerhouse meat and lamb cutter.

The waitress who served us was excellent. Friendly helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. The meat was way over salted, so your first taste was salt rather than the meat. Good IPA and excellent wines in the wine list. I wouldn't rush back because of how over salted the meat was.

Brilliant food….we have been hear around 10 times and it never fails. The porterhouse steak is delicious, the cheesecake is scrumptious, and the staff are amazing

Had the Sunday dinner which was only good, not great. Pork and lamb were underwhelming and beef was ok. I didn’t think it was possible for potatoes to be too crispy but these were. I could barely cut through them and had to let gravy soften them up first. I would not recommend the Sunday dinner. The dessert crumble was delightful though.

Booked for an early lunch and we were thoroughly impressed. Loved the cosy restaurant, the service was incredible, the staff explained the menu and options we we'd never been here before and the food was delicious. Still thinking about the beef dripping chips and blacklock gravy. Will definitely be back when we visit London again.

I'd like to extend a heartfelt shoutout to Aida (or perhaps it's Ida?). It's evident that she infuses genuine care and love into her work. Experiencing such exceptional service was a first for me. The entire experience, from start to finish, was nothing short of amazing. Upon my early arrival, Aida graciously seated me and engaged in a warm, welcoming chat. My drink was served promptly. When my party joined, Aida attentively provided soaked bread in gravy for my nephew, maintaining her charming and attentive service throughout our stay. Impressively, it felt as though we were her sole focus, despite her attentiveness to other tables. Aida made a point to understand the purpose of our visit, learned our names, and interactively engaged with the children, adding a personal touch to our experience. The food matched the high quality of the service. We indulged in the 'All-In' for five adults, complemented by a selection of cocktails and desserts, all of which were delightful. Although there was a minor mix-up with the order of our starters and mains, Aida swiftly and efficiently resolved the issue. To our delight, she even presented a small birthday cake and a round of shots in celebration of my brother's birthday. We are already planning our return, hoping to be greeted once again by Aida, who is undeniably a valuable asset to this fantastic establishment.

Faultless really, first visit here on recommendation of a friend and it didn't disappoint. It's bigger than I thought but be sure to book, I can't imagine many walk ins would be seated! Food was great, reasonably priced - about £10 per kg of the premium steaks, £4 per side and £3 per sauce, far cheaper than I expected. We had a 900kg steak rib between 3 of us, it was seasoned really well and cooked perfectly. All the sides were really tasty too. I had a bone marrow and garlic 'dip', amazingly tasty but not for the faint hearted! Service was on point, servers were all very attentive and polite. Would I go back, definitely. Would I recommend it, absolutely!

Where do I start!!! If I could give 7 stars I would. My friends and I were in London for a meeting and we were famished. Found this gem in Soho. It's a basement restaurant with such a great vibe and packed full. Phil, the front of house was amazing! He went above and beyond to get us seated despite we not making a reservation ahead of time. We were served my Ida, who made brilliant recommendations. The food was so tasty we ordered for seconds. I don't normally like broccoli but their broccoli and walnut side so delicious. The meat was all cooked to perfection and the blackiron gravy made it taste even better. The cherry on top of the cake was the delightful white chocolate cheesecake. We had to get some for home. We can't wait to come back here. Great value for money! Excellent service! Delicious food! What's there not to like?!

Lovely place for a birthday meal - the waiting staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. They adapted what they needed to to make sure that the food was safe for me - gluten free as I am coeliac. It was no fuss and all really tasty. Would definitely go back and would recommend.

Came here for a business dinner from the States. Loved the atmosphere and the smell when you walk in the door is amazing (steak!) Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. The drinks were kept flowing. The meats were explained, and we all enjoyed lovely cuts of meat. I highly recommend the fillet! Further, the chips (French fries) were delicious and the sauces for the meat were all enjoyed. We had a 5hr meal! Can’t recommend enough!

Ein bisschen versteckt, aber wirklich fantastisches Essen, das Steak war absolut on point gebraten und preislich auch kaum zu überbieten. Die Bedienung war auch sehr zuvorkommend, sobald das Wasserglas leer war und sie dies gesehen hat, ist sie gekommen und hat nachgeschenkt. Ich hatte auch das Gefühl, dass sie einem die gesamte Karte bis ins kleinste Detail erklären konnte. Wirklich eine 10/10, ich komme sehr gerne wieder, wenn ich mal wieder in London bin 😊

Book this place NOW. Seriously. In a world where standards have dropped and prices have skyrocketed, this is a genuine gem. The service was just outstanding, right from the start, when it turned out my Friday night booking had actually been mistakenly made for Monday. I assumed we were toast. But no. No drama, no airs, we were just accommodated without fuss. And then the food - straightforward but great quality, and all for (relatively) decent prices. Will return in a heartbeat.

came here during peak hour time (6pm) reserved a table for 4, otherwise it’s gonna be hard to get a table due to the crowd tried the to share portion & rib eye the lamb chop & pork belly didn’t disappoint! the ribeye was nice as well however we find the bone marrow garlic a lil bit too bland

Favourite steakhouse in London! Never have a disappointing meal. The service is all brilliant and attentive. The steak and lamb from the all in platter is to die for. The broccoli salad is probably my favourite thing!

I must admit I was sceptical about Blacklock being one of the best roast in London, however I was blown away. The gravy was on point, the beef tender and the Yorkshire pudding was crispy and salty at perfection. Only regret is that I have a vegetarian girlfriend and I couldn’t go “All in”. :)

This was a lovely place to have a great steak. I have visited their branch in Shoreditch and this was on an equal pegging. The staff are so lovely and accommodating with all our high demands, but do have to mention the pedanticity of the guy managing the tables. Our table for 5 people was clearly available and empty and we had turned up less than 30 mins before it was booked and he kept mentioning it was available at the allotted time only. It was only after I asked him which table that he realised this was unnecessary to make us wait for the booked time and placing us there a little beforehand would not have been an issue, that he finally let us sit there considering we were waiting on the stairs. Other than this, this place is very recommended and is so worth it. Great food and great service. It is also very dog friendly.

Went to the soho branch for the famous sunday roast. I guess it’s best to get there early as we were served chewy beef and lukewarm food. The saviour was the incredible cheesecake. The table we were was sandwiched so close to the tables either side of us that you could hear them breathing, not to mention to get out from the seat my partners butt literally scrapped along the opposite table. Small, dingy, vibeless

We’ve tried Shoreditch, Covent Garden and the lockdown cook at home kit. All have been delicious. We wanted to celebrate our anniversary with a good meal so chose Soho. They were so welcoming. The food was incredible. We had prime rib to share. The garlic marrow is a must! I was lucky enough to get the cheesecake tray! You won’t find a better cheesecake anywhere else. Thank you, Blacklock. Me and my mother had an amazing time at blacklock we visited it everytime we could. People here are extremely friendly and made us feel like one of the locals, they would sit and talk to us and make us feel so welcome. The food was lovely, we had the Denver steak with chips and it was cooked to perfection. Everyday I would be looking forward to the mouthwatering food.
