Black Isle Bar in Highland

Situated in the centre of inverness. They have 26 taps pouring the latest Black Isle brews and a wide selection of craft beers (over 100) from all over the world. If beer isn’t your thing, they also serve organic cider, wine, whiskies, spirits and soft drinks. Their wood-fired pizzas are made using the freshest ingredients sourced wherever possible from our market garden and farm. Kitchen closes 10pm. We ordered the Venison pizza which was quite unique on their menu. Family-friendly and dogs welcome too. Don’t forget to check out their secret rooftop garden! It was very pleasant even when it was snowing, I bet it will be awesome during the summers

Tasty pizza and low alcohol beer for lunch

We only drank and ate here. Food choice is not vast but enough, it was all tasty and beer choice was long and varied. The atmosphere inside is pretty, with fairy lights close to the ceiling. The best dish we had was the fennels salad!! So tasty and yummy!

It's ok for the position, but rooms and cleaning in general are really poor. In the stairs a smell of beer and vomit greats you. Don't ask yourself how they use to change linnen... Bad experience!

They took more than 30 minutes to bring the pizza to table!!! Overrated. The guy whose face covered by his hair has no head just has hair

A warm and friendly spot to stop in for a beer or pizza. Bartender was super helpful, and I love that they've put in the work to become a registered B-Corp!

A brilliant bar great ales and superb pizzas this is best for meeting people and family night out great pizza great beer and the staff are lovely and the people that eat and drink here are also good people because they believe in saving the planet and being kind to each other so dont go unless your a nice person because you will spoil it for the rest of us . Really looking forward to visiting Inverness again and visiting thank you !

Stopped in for pizza. Mushroom pizza was excellent. Beer selection was pretty good.

After 5 days in Scotland, we were ready for some pizza and casual dinner. Black Isle did not disappoint. Great local beer and fresh, quick pizza. Place was packed, but rightfully so. Great spot to visit in Inverness.

We only eat and drink there, but the food and everything was 5 star! I’ve never tought that my best pizza will be here, in Scotland! Amazing farm to table and very nice options for vegans. Beer was great too, but for us a little pricy.

Great service and great reaction by staff. We ordered a couple of beers and a pizza. We were told right away that there was an issue with the pizza oven and there would be a delay. We waited about 10 minutes, not very long, then the pizza came and were told that the pizza was on the house. Fantastic service and if we get a chance to go back we will. By the way, the pizza was excellent.

Ate here with family for the 1st time ,What can I say the pizza’s all 4 of them were totally delicious the bases were light and perfectly cooked.The Cider was excellent absolutely nothing to complain about.The staff were outstanding and gave small samples to try when buying ale to check preferences.1st class.

Casual atmosphere and reasonably priced. We had two pizzas and two beers and it came to £38. The food came quickly and was tasty, definitely hitting the spot. Would recommend.

One of our favourite places to go for craft beer and totally delicious pizzas . Spider Monkey and the cider are our top choices Set up has lots of long tables , so just plonk yourselves down and meet a new friend or two

Loved it a bit over priced but still good

We chose the place for it's bar, but we didn't have any luck to really sit for a beer. The room was too small for three people and not very clean, the sheets and towels weren't white and, to be honest, they didn't smell like clean. The cieling had signs of water from the above room. Unfortunately, we found out why because we'd been flooded in the evening. All in all, not good for the price paid.

If you like to try different craft beers, this is a place for you. The selection of beers is amazing. The bartenders will assist in finding the beer that suits your taste buds. The wood fired pizzas are a delicious accompaniment.

Drinks and food are ordered at the bar. Drinks are available directly and pizza is brought to the table. Really good pizza and an incredible variety of beers from the Black Isle brewery. My favorite of the evening - Rhode Runner. The Venison Salami and Balasamico Goats Cheese pizzas were very tasty with a crispy base.

We went to have some beers and dinner. Everything was very good, the beers and the pizzas. Good atmosphere. Recommendable.

Awful barman, aggressive and unable to communicate maturely as when I asked for some shorts for our party of 4 couples was told he was not serving us anymore as was policy. I asked whose policy and why as was taken aback only to be told he was now not serving us anymore as shots were banned, tried to say it was shorts...whiskey...but he became aggressive and flippant and was asked to leave, which we did but totally bemused and would not recommend the service at all. The two beers we had previously were good but the barman with the beard and moustache...weasel looking young guy is not fit to serve in any place and certainly not fit to deal with customers...appalling approach and no social skills at all and will one day end up causing a lot of trouble for the establishment.......

Rooftop terrace had a great ambiance, such a cosy space. Venison pizza was delicious as a snack 😋

Loved the selection of locally brewed craft beers available in 1/3 pint servings. Interesting pizza choices - sauerkraut and local blue cheese was worth a try.

Review for bar only. Beer was very decent, lots of choices and tasty. Low alcohol options also available. Service was spot on - attentive, sleek, polite. Pizza was a let down though, but then, we are not in Italy.

Went to the Inverness Bar on a Friday evening. Not kidding I had the best beer (Porter No4) and best Pizza (Magharita with pepperoni topping) ever!! It was busy but found a seat with some guys at the end of the table. Despite it being busy, my pizza was there in 20mins. Awesome and will be back again with the Mrs.

Great ethos and friendly staff Toppings were generous and tasty though the vegan cheese was a little soggy. Still good though and would go again. A little chilly inside

Without doubt unfriendly staff. Really bad, no customer service from the rude and sultry bar staff. We felt like we were a hindrance to the staff. Huge sighs upon ordering. Just avoid😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Seems like a nice place, was forced to upstairs to the garden area because the bar was crowded and took a (sadly) unheated cabin, the range of beer is amazing and the food was delivered speedily. No complaints.

Great wee pint, you could start tasting at the top of the menu but I'm not sure you'd make it to the bottom 😜😂. The IPA's I had were very tasty.

Can't comment on rooms as I only used the bar. Excellent selection of craft and cask beers from the brewery tap served by knowledgeable, friendly, cheerful staff. Delightful mix of locals and cosmopolitan customers. Acceptable pricing in rustic, near grunge, surroundings. Limited but varied food offer, unashamedly organic. Fine dining it isn't, but great value for money, with an authentic vibe unlikely to be found in any of the various chains well represented in Inverness. Sadly self too far away to be a regular, but a pinned on pit stop whenever in the town!

Outstanding range of Black Isle Brewery and guest beers. We chose pizzas with our drinks, which were delicious. We didn't stay in the hotel.

For the very best authentic Italian style pizza the Black Isle Brewery is hard to beat! Freshly prepared and baked in a traditional style pizza oven to give the very best results. A glass very good Nero di Tavola made an excellent accompaniment. Visit Inversneckie a couple of times a year and I’ll certainly be back!

I really enjoyed this bar in Inverness serving local craft beers and ciders from the black isle. The place was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The upstairs area was wonderful and looked beautiful in the snow. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. I didn't try the food but they had a big wood fired pizza oven and the smell from it was amazing 😍

It was fine for what I required first room I was in had a faulty shower I was upgraded to a double room which was very good downside shower worked but water wasn't very hot but apart from that very happy with everything had a pleasant stay in Ideal place for my stay

Whenever we visit Inverness, we always try and pop in here. Great venue with a great selection of their own beers, with a couple of non alcoholic ones too, which is always nice to see. The beers we tasted, Red Kite, (both cask and keg) and the blonde/lager were really nice and flavoursome. We had a mushroom pizza too, which was freshly prepared and tasted delicious. Both drinks and pizza were reasonably priced. A great atmosphere with a great mix of people.

Outstanding meal. Busy place but I was able to seat myself right at the bar (love bar seats when eating solo) and order quickly! Got a fresh amber draught that was perfect and asked the server what was the “hidden gem” pizza on the menu. He steered me exactly right with the balsamic and goat cheese option. Wowie it was perfectly salty and sweet and cheesy and so good. I gobbled it up. Great atmosphere, lively and friendly folks!

Went on Saturday night, the place was Bustling. Great crowd. Food, Pizza, how can you go wrong. Seat yourself, order at the bar. I recommend finding your seat first. They will ask you where you are sitting and bring your food to you. Order your beer. The beer is DELICIOUS! All organic ingredients and sustainability is also on the menu. Great value. Located up stairs is a "secret garden" outside seating. Also, small food cabins, I imagine keep you out of the rain while you eat outside.

Excellent wood fire pizzas. We had the garlic bread, margherita pizza and pepperoni, chilli and honey pizza. The crust was perfectly cooked and the toppings fresh and tasty. The beer selection was top notch and we enjoyed the Black Isle blonde and spider monkey. Delicious! A great break from traditional fare. Did not disappoint.

Any time I’m in Inverness, we have to stop here. Great beer and the pizzas are the best!

We only had dinner here. We sat in one of the wooden huts on the top floor. The pizza was really good and the beer as well. I liked the atmosphere of the wooden huts! Very neat place to have some food and just hang out!

Fantastic. Superb range of beers on tap (around 20 I think) I would encourage everyone to try a few as you can order 1/3 of a pint to try and the get a pint or a half. They also make their own pizzas on the premises which appeared to be very popular, well can’t go wrong with a pint and a pizza can you?? Owned and run by a local company with very high environmental targets, the do carbon offsets, tree planting, local and organic produce which all go into making this a special place. I thoroughly encourage you all to do your bit for the good of the planet and have a beer or three in the Black Isle Bar.

Great location with a brilliant selection of organic beers. Had the wild venison pizza which I highly recommend. Can get very busy on a Friday and Saturday night. Though always a good sign. Stayed in the accommodation in February. Had my own room which was clean and to a good standard. Was slightly noisy until midnight. But you are above a pub. My only criticism would be that at over a hundred quid it was pretty expensive , particularly for February.

Not bad, but not that great. Pizzas are decent but not amazing. Beers are nice, but don't ask for a tip with every beer, it's awkward and unnecessary every time in a non-tip based country, this really damages the experience.

Chambre sommaire pas sûr que les draps étaient changés pour notre arrivée ! Aucun produit de toilette pas shampoing ! La pour de la douche fuit ! Il y a tout de même une bouilloire et café et thé . Pas de petit déjeuner proposé les draps : Ils étaient râpeux et bouloches . Calme en octobre attention il y a un pub dans l'établissement qui peut engendrer du bruit. Pizza excellente. Bière . Très bien situé dans une rue vivante

If you like pizza this is the place. These are my absolute favourite pizzas anywhere! They are quite simply delish. They have a proper huge high temperature pizza oven here and the pizzas are served steaming hot direct from the oven. The pizzas have a perfect thin but not burnt base. The toppings are great too, a good choice of the usual suspects eg margherita plus frequent specials. You pay in advance at the bar, order your pizza and drinks and when ready they're brought hot to your table. No schmaltz! If only all pizzas were as wonderful as this.

Serverar pizzor med skotsk touch. Ljudnivån är tyvärr för hög. Akustikmaterial på väggarna hade varit bra. Stojig beer garden en trappa upp. Ovanför baren ligger de enkla gästrummen. Bra badrum, annars inga faciliteter. Min säng var i hårdaste laget och kudden tunn. Priset speglade standarden, så jag klagar inte. Utmärkt läge för tågresande, dessutom.

Best restaurant/bar we visited in Inverness. Beers and atmosphere were great, sadly we didn't have a pizza but they looked great. And props for being B Corp!

Amazing pizzas and superb beer.

Great place to stay for a couple nights, cheap and no-frills, beds are comfy, rooms are clean and quiet. Bar downstairs has a great vibe and does some incredible pizzas - would definitely recommend having your dinner there!

I only came here for beer and pizza but I highly recommend this place. The pizza is great and there is a vast selection of craft beer to choose from.

Incredible Pizza - the best I've ever had - and I love the fact this bar is carbon neutral. Limited choice of pizza for carnivores, but that's a good thing! We sat in the Secret Garden where the pizzas are brought to us in boxes. If you're lucky enough to find a table downstairs your pizza is served on plates. We visited this bar 5 times but only managed to find a seat downstairs once. It's a very popular and busy place.
