Good pub, with awards, but the bar staff today was a young ignorant lad whom did not have any manners or clean hands, barred a seemingly pleasant lad at the orders of the landlord, without the land lord explaining or doing it himself, or explaining to the staff why.

A CAMRA Good beer guide entry. A Robinson's outlet with guest ales is a very rare find. Four Robbies (incl Old Tom winter ale at 8.5%..years ago it was only sold in 1/3 pint glasses..because one pint got you drunk!) plus five guest ales and a real cider. Jorvic had a pint of Lakeland Gold at 4.4% from Lakeland. Madge however did not like any of the lagers and had a Pepsi. Lovely pub, super architecture. Four downstairs rooms plus upstair function room. Mixed clientel.

An absolute gem right in the heart of Preston. An amazing (proper) pub full of charm and character. Real ale connoisseurs dream with many cask ale pubs constantly changing and many awards for their efforts. Beer prices are slightly higher than other pubs in the area but its definitely worth it! The range and quality is outstanding and the architecture is just beautiful. However, the real heart of this pub lies with the superb friendly service and knowledgeable staff, that make everyone feel welcome.

Always worth a trip through the doors here: there's a beautiful ceramic tiled horseshoe bar, several snugs to cosy up in; very pleasing glass work and, not least, a good selection of interesting beers served by pleasant staff. Mention should also be made of the pies, which, whilst I think are not made on site, are just what the doctor ordered around your fourth beer. Can commend.

And the interior is even older..go and enjoy a pint nxt to the 🔥 ...friendly place and relax..

After being discharged from hospital, I was picked up by a couple friends and we went here for one, until the barman was rudely shouting telling me he wasn’t going to serve me because I looked stoned shouting it several times embarrassing me and my friends, can help what someone looks like a few hours after a general anaesthetic, never in my life have I ever met such a rude little rat of a barman, he certainly didn’t have the most appealing appearance himself, absolutely disgraceful attitude, what a good impression for the first and probably only pub I will go to in this place

I have NO idea why this place has received ANY positive reviews!! We are still speaking about our visit in amazement! And NOT the happy satisfied kind!! Place very quirky... which is ok! Lots to look at! Gives you something to do during the long wait for your food to arrive ! Staff friendly enough. Huge tea menu ... but that’s where the praise must stop! We opted for coffee... only because we didn’t fancy tea at that point! Coffee bitter with a strange aftertaste!Cups appeared cloudy ..well used or just dirty? We didn’t notice until the cups were almost empty!Cake utterly inedible! Just truly weird ... yet was ostensibly just strawberries, cream and sponge! After a couple of tastes, it was left on the plate! Two bacon barms took a long time to arrive ... yet the bacon was pale with barely cooked fat!! and arrived with the bread rock hard..( left under a heat lamp too long?) The place was almost empty, so why the delay? A visit to the toilets meant a delve into the lower level, down very steep stairs! Past the kitchen and stores, past kitchen staff, to finally get to the loo! Seriously cannot think of anything positive to say about this place!!

Decided to give this place another go,reasonably quiet Wednesday evening, so walked in at 20.25 to be advised the restaurant kitchen had shut! Given Preston is purported to be a 'City', who ever heard of a city restaurant closing so early?

Situated on a junction controlled by traffic lights made it difficult to enter the small and compact car park.Having eventually parked the car I was please that I’d stopped here. Inside, the premises have been tastefully designed and converted from what was probably a Bank. It has is a small room where you can sit which has a large safe/vault door. The rest of the premises have a variety of tables and chairs spread around the room. There is also outdoor seating with canopies covering them. Our coffees were very good along with some Biscotti biscuits. It was nice to relax on a Sunday afternoon reading a newspaper whilst it poured with rain outside.
