Simple pub grub menu with mostly deep fried starters like mushrooms and potato wedges . I had a very large portion of scampi and chips which was lovely . A few veggie options as well and the risotto which I was told was tasty . Nice pint of cider and draft equinox .

A fantastic place with fantastic staff. Went in for dinner on two nights whilst on holiday. Both night we were welcomed in and and both night the food was lovely. The place was quite busy both nights despite the size of Falstone. It was a friendly place and there was not one complaint that I heard. But why would there be. Though the only thing that stop it from being 100%, was there was not cask ale on... :-(

We had never been to this little gem before and as we were staying at Kielder decided to have Sunday lunch there, omg thank goodness we took the chance! Couldn’t fault a thing, the staff were great, the food fabulous, dog friendly. I think it was the nicest Sunday lunch we’ve ever had! Recommend 🤩

The staff were friendly, and the room we were in was cosy with wooden beams and a fire. However, the food was nothing special - the batter on the fish was a bit undercooked, and the steak was a bit dry.

Staying in the village on holiday, we stopped by on the off chance of getting a takeaway and we were not disappointed. The takeaway options were pizza or burgers but there was a good choice of both. The burgers were absolutely amazing, so meaty and succulent and quite clearly homemade. Friendly staff, keen to have a chat about our stay while I waited at the bar with a beer for my food. The bar area is quite small with an intimate feel, would definitely recommend and do book because it was busy!

My partner and I had the pleasure of staying at your establishment this past weekend while attending a wedding in Kielder. Our stay truly enhanced the wonderful memories of the weekend. Just spent the weekend at The Black Cock Inn, have to say the place is a well kept secret. Had two nights ate at the pub on both evenings. Beer and wine were very good and we couldn't ask for anything more. Katie was amazing friendly, helpful and a very nice person. This is not to say the rest of the staff were not. Was provided with a breakfast tray as two of us had to leave before serving time. Nothing was too much trouble. Would I recommend it...hell yeah

Looked for a pub near Kielder Forest as been there all day. Was not disappointed. Staff so welcoming and food was incredibly nice. Burgers were massive and my son approved the Chilli. Both my son and daughter had the fudge cake and had such a massive wedge. Got there not long after 5 and loads of people turned up proving how popular the pub is. Wow, what a wonderful find. We decide to treat ourselves to an evening away and booked to stay at this lovely Northumberland country Inn. We couldn't have been made more welcome by Katie and family from our email booking until we left the following morning . We chose to stay in the Peacock Room and it was fabulous. Everything we needed to make our overnight stay perfect was provided in the room, and we enjoyed a great night's sleep. After a great sleep there's plenty of choice on the breakfast menu as well. We'd booked to have dinner and the menu has more than enough to chose from for all dietary requirements. Thursday was a "special pie night" and I thoroughly enjoyed Ann's Mediterranean Vegetable Pie; our friend who had joined us for the meal had the beef and onion pie and that too was delicious. I had the garlic mushrooms as a starter which were delicious and finished with the Ginger Pudding, which was smothered in ginger sauce and custard as stated on the menu It was a massive portion, enough for two, but I ate the lot it was so delicious. All four of us really did enjoyed our meals; clean plates speak volumes. I didn't expect a country Inn to have such a magnificent selection of gins, and what was even more impressive was Katie discussing what mixtures went best with each gin; that alone deserves five stars . We've enjoyed our stay so much that we've booked to return to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Well worth a visit. Recommended.

What a little Gem, we booked last minute had a walk round Kielder booked in for Sunday lunch, made to to feel welcome, we both had the beef cooked to perfection! As was the giant Yorkshire puddings. An array of vegetables all cooked perfectly! Finished off with Ginger cake and custard and apple and blackberry crumble. Lovely home made food. Very reasonable priced as well! After reading some reviews we decide to have lunch at the Black Cock Inn at Falstone, they have some great beers and their Sunday Lunch takes some beating. Great home cooked food served by friendly staff who looked after us really well. Also very good value and we will be back again I’m sure, strongly recommend anybody in the area to give them a try, you won’t be disappointed.
