Excellent food. Equally good service. A really good evening out (first for a long time!). Nothing more to add but this app requires at least 100 characters so I'm typing nothing of value just to meet the nonsense rules!!

We were so impressed by the service we received when we went for my 50th we returned for my husband and step daughter’s birthdays yesterday. Once again the service was incredible. All of the staff are SO friendly and thoughtful, nothing was too much trouble and the food and drinks were delicious. They made the birthday boy and girl feel very special. Thank you so much I’m thrilled that once again we trusted you with our special day- you didn’t disappoint us! E xx

Booked table as it was Friday night .... it was very busy .... very warm welcome ! Lovely evening .... superb service from all the staff .... very attentive but not intrusive!!! The vegan burger was delicious.... so were the espresso martinis!!! Thank you for a wonderful night !!!!

Our first meal after lockdown, excellent service and food to match. I had a steak and my wife and daughter had the burger, which we all thoroughly enjoyed. Would 100% reccomend and look forward to coming back

First class meal just before the great lockdown. Popped up to London for the last night of freedom. Busy restaurant we had to book and had a great meal. Once back to a new normal. If you find yourself at London Bridge check this little gem out. COVID-19 safe really nice food and lovely service’ a good wine rack’ I like our London and this is a gem. Good pricing and easy to get home if ‘one’ has had a bottle or two. Stay safe, until we can all go restaurant-in again. EC.

Se encuentra en una ubicación muy interesante, en el borde del mercado de Borough.Recomendaría comida a la parrilla.Buen servicio tambien.

Mi hijo ha estado varias veces por negocios en Londres y tenía muchas ganas de llevarme. Diseño realmente inusual para un restaurante debajo de los arcos del ferrocarril, pero una vez que te acostumbraste al sonido de los trenes, fue fascinante. El servicio fue rápido y cortés, y la comida de un nivel excelente, se sirve caliente. Ojalá viviéramos en Londres para poder ir más a menudo. Muy recomendable.

Amazing food! The ribs were spot on! My friends both had steaks and we’re similarly complementary. The venue is nothing special but the staff were really friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you desire steak or ribs

Went here for a birthday meal, very friendly welcome by the staff. For starters we had bread, olives & salt/pepper chicken with lime which were superb. For mains we had the Vegan Cheeseburger/fries & the Cote De Bouef steak (as shown in pics, perfectly cooked medium rare) which was brilliant, plus fries and sides of green beans & peas. I requested both stilton & peppercorn sauces (highly recommend ordering both as the steak is large & it mixes up the flavours nicely). Desserts were the mango sorbet & the chocolate fondant - wow.....warm & gooey in the centre :), finished off with espresso martini. Highly recommend to visit

We had the burger as everybody deem about it and it just ordinary, nothing special. Staffs were all very plaisant.

Black and blue, borough market is home of the foodies and around it are some of the best eateries in London.The restaurant is hidden away but that’s good because unlike other places it means you’ll get a decent size table and space.The layout and service this evening was exceptional, we would of been a party of 19 but final head count was 15. The service however was spot on, very tentative the dishes all piping hot from starters to main. I have to recommend the full stack burger my choice however some members ordered steaks and they looked equally tempting.Back to my burger, succulent without being greasy, this is a mark of a great burger. When it says stacked it means stacked. It resembles a miniature tower on the plate.It’ll fill your eyes and bust your belt.You’ll have to excuse the picture of the indoor elevator, this was class to take you up to the toilets.If you haven’t been you have to go, if you have been you have to try different something different.A great restaurant reasonably priced well worth a visit

Had the traditional English Breakfast here. It was a very good brekkie. Sausages well cooked with crispy bacon and great eggs. Beans, mushrooms, tomatoes and toast. For £10 in Borough!! Great value. I will be back.

The staff are really nice. The food is great. The decor and the atmosphere is brilliant. We have visited on a Friday afternoon so not sure how’s at night. Would definitely go back again

Great place, fantastic welcome, wonderful service, fabulous food. First of hopefully many visits Prawn starter followed by fillet steak, simply heavenly Host has chicken skewers followed by steak with Thai Green curry and rice, looked a bit weirded but said it was delightful.

Went in without a reservation around 7pm on a Friday evening and go seated straight away. The staff were friendly and attentive and the menu had a lot of good choices. Lovely wine too. All in all a good experience and would recommend for informal dining.

In the bustle of Borough market a nice place for a warm sit down lunch - good value asparagus soup , steak frites and half carafe of a decent red worth a visit

Had breakfast here on Monday, it was so lovely to have friendly, efficient service and a gorgeous full English, would highly recommend

Reasonable food and wine and in a nice setting. However the additional unexpected service charge of 12.5% leaves a little sour taste. Always happy to tip for over and above service, but having it imposed on you for nothing particularly exceptional in a very quiet restaurant is poor.

Wow the best breakfast in ages. Absolutely perfect, staff gave exceptional service and food was divine. The sausages were some of the best I’ve had. Highly recommended

We had lunch (2 friends) - friend had the grilled chicken with tender stem broccoli and creamy mushroom sauce, very nice. She asked for peppercorn sauce and the lovely waitress obliged, said it was no problem. I had the vegan burger with fries and salad. Delicious. Service was friendly, attentive but not overly so and professional, very smiley helpful waitress. Good menu, lots of options, inc 2/3 courses fixed price menu. Would highly recommend :)

3 of us had the 2 course fixed price lunch. 2 steaks, cooked as we requested with decent fries, plus a chicken burger which was also good. A great offer on the wine (all half price, which just shows the mark up, but hey) ensured we had a cheeky malbec which was great.

Went to this place for a lunch yesterday. It was such a bad experience, it was almost funny. 1) First, we had reserved. Reservations mean you will have no problem being greeted and shown to your table right? No, no staff around to greet us. Just waiting...

Used to go weekly but been abroad. Nasty cheap sausages and wings. We didn’t mind paying over the odds before but this always happens to chains. Stint on quality of ingredients and WE KNOW. Never again. Goodbye Black and Blue

Met with friends. It was busy but service was good and we were quickly asked for drinks and food order. Did not have to wait too long for food. It was all perfectly acceptable but nothing special but we would go again.

Popular but have always found a table at far end of borough market just away from the street food is this fabulous glass fronted restaurant

very welcoming place and very kind staff. the first time I eat well, indeed divinely in a typical London restaurant. Each course was exceptional, and even the cocktails we had after dinner were excellent. It was truly a pleasant evening. Price appropriate to the excellent quality of food and service.

2 of us went here for a late lunch on New Year’s Day. It was late in the day and we were starving. We both had the leek and potato soup to start. A lovely large bowl with a big warm roll and butter on the side. It was gorgeous. We then both had the salmon and asparagus. I have never been asked how I wanted my salmon cooked but hey ho. It was lovely and moist with a crisp top. It came with some kind of potato noisettes x 3. They were rather greasy so only ate one. We decided it would be nice to finish off with a cocktail. The menu advised that the classic drinks were £6 instead of £10 between 4 and 6. I double checked this as we ordered. To be told as it was NY day the offer was not valid. In that case they should not of had the advert on the table. I said as much and we declined to have the cocktails. We didn’t go for them out of principle. Had I not asked they would have charged the £10, I wonder how many people got caught out with this. Overall the meal was nice, waitress’s good and venue nice setting.

When I first started regularly visiting Borough Market, quite some time ago now this was one of the earlier restaurants to get going, so used to eat here quite regularly. Looking for something to eat mid-afternoon on a Friday this place was open. End up with the set menu, starting with prawns and Pave steak and chips, which was pretty good value and perfectly pleasant, with a nice bottle of wine.

Seven of us shared 3 starters then 3 steak/frites, 1 cheeseburger, 1 Seabass and 600g Cote de Boeuf. Some beer, 3 bots of Cabernet and 1 of Laurent Perrrier Rose bumped the bill to just over £400. But what the hell. We were well looked after, enjoyed it and had a great time.

A large group of us visited Black and blue for a special occasion. The restaurant is nicely decorated and has a pleasant vibe. it is also in a great location in borough market! The food however is fairly average, with the quality of produce leaving a lot to be desired. Overall, we had a nice meal which was fairly good value but it wasnt anything to shout about. There were also some fairly large inaccuracies in the bill which were only spotted by chance- so I would definitely recommend a thorough check!

Ok the food may not blow everyone away compared to Hawksmoor or other specialist houses but this is a friendly

My wife and I have eaten several times over the past three months and found that the food is very good as is the service. All set in a wonderful atmosphere.

Despite working close to Borough Market a few years ago, I never visited. On a bright, sunny September day we decided that as there has been a market on this site - or close to it - for over 1,00 years, a visit was long overdue. In the 1750's it almost disappeared because of the chaos it caused on a main route into the City but it withstood this and later the construction of the railway that runs above the market.

Five of us had a scrumptious meal. Our waitress carefully checked if we had any allergies or didn’t like certain foods. We were served very quick with no delays despite being around 2pm on a busy, touristy Saturday. We all had different food choices for main & dessert. We shared each other's food as family do and can testament to the high quality. We highly recommend this restaurant and wished we lived in Borough all the time. As a driver I was pleased they offered non-alcoholic alternatives. All the staff are outstanding and very keen to please. Their managers must be so proud of them. The toilets are clean and tidy and well laid out and you must pat the cow when you walk past.

Dinner with friends. Quiet restaurant. The food is fine. The service was good. Nothing spectacular, but not a bad choice.

Came here for an early dinner with some friends. God knows why we didn't say anything but was a terrible meal. The trouble is we were all starving but honestly the steak was inedible. Waitress never asked why we all left it either. The spinach was nice though! I honestly don't feel there is any excuse to serve bad food any more and there are so many better places to go.

Four of us went Black & Blue on a Saturday evening and had a great time. Good location under the railway arches, five minutes walk from London Bridge Station. Good selection of wine and beers which were duly sampled. Chicken skewers with satay sauce and chicken wings were good for starters. Steaks, chicken breast, sea bass and king prawns were all excellent for mains. Nice range of cocktail for afterwards as well. Busy place but not too noisy, and spacious enough that you don’t feel cramped.

Perfectly located in Borough Market and near to London Bridge for tube and rail. There is a good bar as you walk in with a number of outside tables that was not too busy as we were quite early in the evening. It was nice to sit at the bar and have a couple of G&Ts; before sitting down to dinner. We went for the chicken wings, prawns and their classic dip with tortilla chips which were well sized and cooked perfectly. For main course it had to be the burger which we chose to be cooked rare. They were perfect and were devoured along with the matchstick fries. I like the booths which are perfect for privacy and conversation. Recommended.

Took my son there for his birthday as we had heard that the food is great and especially the steaks. We was a little early so sat at the bar to have a drink and then asked to be seated and both ordered the steak. we wasn't disappointed as the food was great and the service as well. highly recommended.

Black and Blue Borough Market is conveniently located just outside the market about 5 minutes walk from London Bridge Station. The menu is varied; not just steak. Service was friendly and efficient, and our steak superb.

Some of the tastiest steaks you can get are served here at the Black and Blue. Service is great, and most of the time pretty quick as well when not majorly busy. Steaks are cooked very well, and every time I've been in there, exactly how I like.

Visited this restaurant for an early evening meal on a Friday evening with my daughter, niece, sister and mother. We had told staff that it was my sisters birthday. We had taken birthday balloon in earlier that day.

Visited this restaurant for the first time on Bank Holiday Saturday. I was with my daughter and we both had main course of king prawns with fries and salad. However, these were no ordinary prawns and definitely not an ordinary salad. The prawns were cooked in their shells and piped with garlic butter mousse with a separate little tub of the mousse on the side - absolutely delicious and the salad contained lettuce, walnuts and grated parmesan drizzled with a lovely dressing. The staff were very obliging and attentive.

A nice spot to sit outside and nicely secluded and quiet compared to the rest of the Borough Market. Chicken Caesar salad was perfect lunch on a sweltering day. Decent value and good service.

Mi compañero y yo vinimos a cenar aquí. El personal era muy amable y acogedor, nos enseñaron a nuestra mesa rápidamente y tenían una gran sonrisa. Tuvimos algunos cócteles que estaban bien, pero todos tenían un fuerte sabor posterior, lo cual es una pena teniendo en cuenta que son 12 cada uno. Tuve el filete que estaba cocinado a la perfección absoluta, ¡no me puedo quejar! Mi compañero tenía una hamburguesa que realmente disfrutó, así que en general fue una comida bastante buena. Había música en vivo que también era realmente buena, pero una vez que la música en vivo terminó, hubo algunos problemas con los altavoces y todo saltó y emitió ruidos estáticos, lo que fue bastante molesto. En general, es un lugar encantador con buena comida, así que definitivamente lo recomendaría.

La primera copa de vino estaba apagada; la camarera lo reemplazó y el vaso de repuesto de Cabernet Sauvignon estaba bien. Comencé con Chicken Satays, estaban bien; seguido de Cote de Boeuf - era un pedazo de carne recocido aunque bueno; venía con chips flacos y aunque estaban calientes no son saludables y no quisiera tenerlos nuevamente. Siento que las bebidas, específicamente el vino tinto, son demasiado caras. El servicio solo era adecuado y no garantizaba el 12. 5% de cargo por servicio automático; No debería haberlo pagado. En general no es un buen valor 6/10

Comí aquí el sábado por la noche. Mi pareja tenía el bistec que realmente disfrutó y tuve la pila de hamburguesas que estaba bien. Probablemente no volvería a tener la pila de hamburguesas que tenía guacamole pero pensó que sonaba diferente, así que lo probé. Buen aperitivo también con buen servicio. Definitivamente regresaríamos

Hemos estado algunas veces con grupos grandes a este restaurante y siempre regresamos. Borough Market es un lugar especial y tiene un ambiente fabuloso. Este restaurante se encuentra bajo los arcos del ferrocarril y sirve increíbles filetes, postres y buen champán. Maneja un restaurante completamente lleno cada vez que hemos estado con un excelente servicio. Definitivamente recomendaría y reservar con anticipación si quieres conseguir una mesa.

On the edge of Borough market we sat on the terrace area. Inside is nicely designed and stylish. The burger was one of the best I have tasted. Good quality meat well cooked.

Had alfresco dinner with chicken skewers, and a delicious rib eye . Cooked perfectly. Service a bit patchy, we got dessert menus but no one actually came back to take order, so we got bill and moved on.

Wanted a steak place as I was entertaining a business client who has become a friend and B&B; was recommended so booked a table.

Visiting London for the day and went to Borough Market and upon suggestion of friend went to Black and Blue for Breakfast.

Went for lunch. Lamb cutlets with beans and salad. The food eas really good but the coffee bitter/ burnt flavour. Plus wine and a lager £40 including dessert.

We enjoyed the atmosphere at Borough Market and would have eaten from the booths there, but our friends wanted to sit down for lunch. (Note: the market has few tables, most people walk with their food.) I was concerned that the lack-luster menu indicated average food, and I was correct. The steaks weren't "rested" sufficiently and bled all over our plates, and were tough and chewy. The Bernaise was watery and bland. Everything here was mediocre, including the service.

Three of us sat down for a leisurely and relaxing lunch in this fine restaurant located in the heart of the diverse and vibrant Borough Market. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the service prompt, the meals excellent. We all selected from the steak options but there is a varied menu. One of our number had dined here before and her party had selected different dishes, all of which were excellent.

25 Jan. The majority of tables are booths, which is lovely for up to four people. Service was prompt and friendly. Food average steakhouse fayre, Goodmans / Hawksmoor this isn't, but perfectly acceptable and an easy, short, menu but probably something everyone will like. An easy option.

We went here for a meal before the gong bar at the shard. It was Easter weekend and the weather was lovely so we were able to sit outside! A rare luxury in the U.K.! We had a lovely meal with relaxed service. We weren’t made to feel rushed. I had chicken with mushrooms and opted for fries instead of new potatoes, it came with a ridiculous amount of green beans! My husband and son both had steak and we shared a bottle of wine. The only downside was the loo was upstairs! (Walking around London had left me with a blister! ) there was a lift though! One complaint the loo wasn’t pleasant, paper on the floor and didn’t look clean. Not a hideous price, but not cheap either!

Came here for business on a Thursday evening. Super packed at 8PM.

I had my lunch there, the food tasted alright but the staff were not very eager to show me the table when I got there. Maybe because I was the only Chinese looking customer patronizing their restaurant. The lady who served me with the food was polite and friendly enough though. However when I settled the bill and walked towards the door, those waitresses just looked at me pass by....not even saying Thank you/Goodbye.

Food and service was good, not crowded at all. Had a fillet, great piece of meat tho not fire grilled, you can taste it was electric cooked. Nice meal besides that, price decent, atmosphere quiet!!

After a day of walking all over London, we were ready for a good meal and bed. Our concierge at the hotel recommended that we go to the Bourough Market area where the restaurants are aplenty. We decided on Black & Blue. It was a little crowded due to it being happy hour, but let me tell you, our meals were amazing. I had the filet and my husband had the sea bass. Both were melt in your mouth delicious. I would definitely recommend.

I had been to Black & Blue before and decided to return for a family event (wife's birthday dinner) and was not disappointed. A wide range of options on the menu that suited everyone. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food and service were great and very reasonably priced. If you are looking for a restaurant with great food in a great location then Black & Blue is the place to try. I am looking forward to going back again.

Everything was excellent. Lasma and team couldn’t have looked after the 24 of us better. The food & drinks were lovely - I had the garlic prawns & steak frite. The staff wrote my son’s name on the birthday cake we brought in. Even when a few of us spilled into the space between tables talking the staff were lovely (even though we were probably a bit in their way). It really was a perfect lunch albeit not cheap - thank you so much for everything xxx

We came here a few years ago and really enjoyed it so decided to come back and we weren’t disappointed.

When we go to Borough Market we always try and eat somewhere different, never the same place twice.

Visited the market then went for breakfast. Lovely ambience helpful staff good quality ingredients and the restaurant was clean bright great interesting fixtures and fittings but although lovely was overpriced

Atmosphere and ambience is good, the waitresses are very friendly. Unfortunately are the Starter battered shrimps very dry and tasteless. A waist. The steak was the absolute counterpart of what the menu suggested. It was tough, tasteless and chewy. A total lack of vegetables completed the disappointing meal. Nevertheless was this soon forgotten thanks to the good atmosphere.

It sounds that it is the kind of restaurant that thinks it is enough to put high price and some French words to have a good restaurant.

Very rude and unfriendly staff, we ran away after one drink and never coming back. No idea about the food, they managed to get us out before ordering some food.

I always enjoy the grilled king prawns.£22 A generous portion with salad, grilled red pepper and fries. The fries used to be much better here, Can't understand why they changed to Mc Donald style fries.

We were disappointed that the market next door was shut on a Sunday but I guess we all need a day off. We were all quite hungry and had a delicious breakfast next door which helped ease our disappointment. Great full English and my wife said the granola was good too.

I came here for a meet up with old school friends and had a great time. The attractive dining room is well laid out, with most tables being booths, which I like and which lead to a cozy feeling.

Delicious burgers and lovely salads. Friends and I visited this restaurant during a shopping trip to Borough Market. I’ve been four times and would recommend as ideal for a leisurely lunch.

I’ve visited black and blue on a few different occasions. We ordered the butterfly prawns and steak frites. The food was lovely. I also had a Bloody Mary which was perfectly made. I’ll definitely go back!

Only one I found serving a full English no prices on the menu

Yet another visit to this lovely restaurant situated just outside Borough Market. The food was very good as usual, the half price wine offer (on Sundays and Mondays) exceptionally good value and the service really friendly. No wonder we keep returning when we're in London!

Me and my boyfriend came here for a late valentines meal. My boyfriend is allergic to nuts, we told one waitress who failed to tell any of the other waitresses and the chefs in the kitchen. There were walnuts in the side salad (that is complimentary served when you order a steak) and this is NOT stated on the menu, my boyfriend then proceeded to eat some of this and had to act instantly once I realized what the salad contained. The manager then proceeded to try and argue with me that it does say on the menu that the side salad contains nuts, once I demanded she bring me a menu she then apologized and said that it doesn't. This is a warning to customers - they do NOT say there is nuts in the side salad so please be careful when ordering and make sure your waitress has communicated effectively with the other staff and the kitchen. The manager did take responsibility after this ordeal however the night was ruined as your can imagine how upset and scared we were.
