Bistro19 Harburn in West Lothian

First time at bistro 19... Staff ( 3 ) very pleasant... Ordered the fish for main course.... Batter in my opinion was over done brown and breaking up (oil too hot?) also kids ordered chocolate brownie certainly over done in microwave ( edges brick hard) and prices off soft drinks definitely overpriced

We were there on Tuesday 26th(even though I do visit regularly at least once a week) one of the party had macaroni and there was no taste and a metal kind of taste off it. We all agreed it was not very nice (we have had this dish before with another party I have went with and it was quite nice) the waitress was told and you could see it wasn’t touched and she just went “I’m sorry” I feel the party member should have been offer something else or had it removed from the bill, but there was no care involved. I discovered this place and I’m not that local about 6 months ago and Iv been at least 20 times because I do love it. This has quite put me off. Also there was nowhere else to complain to!

This Bistro is an absolute find We visited today for lunch, great selection on the menu also catered for on a dairy free menu Beautiful tasty well cooked food, big portions and the service was excellent, very friendly and helpful staff and a lovely atmosphere We would very much recommend a visit and we will return soon.

Harburn is a smashing place to have a meal. Food is well presented and tasty. Service first class from very pleasant young staff. Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

The restaurant catered for 27 of us for a surprise Birthday meal. The staff and service were amazing and the food was delivered quickly considering how many people there was. We always go here and will always recommend.

Very disappointed with our meal last night, chicken burger roll was a huge disappointment didn't know you could get chicken that thin, chips were well over done, twice things had to be sent back as not what we ordered, really disappointed for my husband as this was gift vouchers for his 60th, Definitely not as good as we remembered, & expensive. Carpets were also badly stained all over,, very grubby & dirty,

Wasn't impressed with our recent visit. Food wasn't as good as we remembered. The menu has changed as have the staff. Dessert is my main reason for visiting and always has been. We honestly didn't feel welcome and for the price of lunch for two it's not exactly the cheapest option. The chicken strips were double dipped in the batter, both layers cooked separately could be seen and tasted. Fillet steak was dry and crunchy in bits. The onions on the ciabatta were stone cold and drained the steak of the little heat it had. Chips were hot and crispy. Raspberry dessert wasn't made with hot raspberries and the shortbread crumb wasn't fresh or crumbling it was crunchy and hard. Does anyone know if these now made and frozen in the glass then defrosted on demand? The individual piece of shortbread was delicious. Sadly when I complained about the steak I was blatantly told the waitress would pass it onto chef... No apology absolutely nothing. The sad reality is we wasted our treat from the kids at Christmas coming here and even the dessert was below expectations.

My son brought me for Mother’s Day breakfast it’s the first time I’ve been for breakfast and like always the food was perfect and service was amazing. This is by far the best place to eat in West Lothian for breakfast lunch or dinner.

Come here all the time food is always amazing, highly recommend coming for the weekend specials or the midweek menu deal is a bargain. Our server Taylor was great our last visit. Always a friendly service here.

I have nothing but great things to say about the bistro. The staff were so accommodating and we’re always happy to help with a smile On their face , the food is always amazing. Couldn’t recommend it more. Always has great atmosphere and will definitely be going again.

Had a lovely dinner with family, I had the prawn linguine which was delicious and family had fillets steaks and fillet balmorals, all were enjoyed thoroughly. Had desserts too, plum and almond sponge is a must have. Service was 10/10, will be back soon

Even though the restaurant was very busy the service from the staff was excellent and food was equally as good. Will definitely be back.

This is the second time we have encountered this particular issue and both times for a birthday meal out together. First time - my birthday - our reserved table in the quieter area of the restaurant was not available and we were offered a table right at the entrance that people walk past, just across from two large noisy party tables. The attitude was "take it or leave it, no other table available." This time, arriving for my husband's birthday the waitress apologised that our table was not ready due to a larger group already seated in the quieter section of the restaurant. Our booked table had been pulled across to make a larger table. Why was the table not replaced? We were offered an alternative - guess where? again by the door entrance and exit walkway, opposite a large noisy party again. We declined and said we would have a drink and wait. 35minutes later we were called through and given menus. Then a long wait for the order to be taken. The starter arrived 55 minutes from us sitting down. It was very obvious that the restaurant was not coping, particularly the kitchen. After the main course we asked for the bill. Our experience is no fault of the waitresses This is a management issue. Please keep large groups near the entrance or use your room on the other side of the bar. I wonder how many other people have experienced a similar problem to ours? For ourselves, this is a local restaurant we have been coming to for years, but the visits of the past 5 months have soured our taste.

Food is yummy, there was 15 of us and everyone enjoyed what they had. Friendly service too will definitely be back

We attended today with my family to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday. It was our first time in there and we were all so impressed with the quality of the food and service. Highly recommend it and we will go back again for sure!

Staff were friendly and attentive, the restaurant was freezing cold which made the food cold quickly but we were later told by staff the radiators had broken, they did bring out heaters which helped a bit. Everything was clean, service was great, food was brilliant....

Excellent resturant with a wide choice of starters, mains and sweets with ample seating arrangements to havd quiet chat wifh friends. Service was excellent and food well presented and hot. Freshly made and Balmoral chicken well cooked with haggis and veg nicely done and not stewed as in other restaurants. Cost was value for money. Well worth a visit

Busy place and rightly so. Big portions nice quality and very good value. Sunday lunch 3 course was £22.50 and nice selection. That said ‘the sirloin of beef’ turned out to be reheated slices of top side - come on Chef don’t insult our intelligence!

Took my kids for dinner for the eldest's birthday. We hadn't been in a while and fancied a wee change for his birthday meal. We each had 2 courses, but my main and my youngest's went to the kitchen bin with half the food still on the plate. They took his dish off the bill but didn't ask how my meal was and if they could do anything. Luckily, the birthday boy enjoyed both of his courses, but I was expecting better food and a little more in the way of service. His chicken was dry and tough, my dish was very bland and dry.

Tried to telephone to book a table for lunch. unable to. when arrived at club house was repeatedly told they weren't doing walk ins when we enquired how to book a table was again repeatedly told were not doing walk ins. attitude of staff completely unhelpful and will be advising friends family and colleagues of staff attitude and to try somewhere else

First visit 7th February 2022. Amazing experience. First class surroundings, value, service, plus absolutely outstanding food. A wide choice available. Next visit - Valentine’s Day 2022. We’ll now be regulars at Bistro19.

I was there for lunch and the meal was absolutely first class. The staff were excellent and very efficient. The food was exceptional. The atmosphere was good and even though busy, there was no excessive noise which made it an enjoyable experience. I will most definitely return

This place is a great place for the whole family to enjoy great food and great service and it's very rare for me to be able to pay total respect for the waitresses and the whole kitchen myself and my better half took our little beautiful granddaughter out for a little treat and we were so pleased with the whole place from entering to getting our Sunday roast beef dinner with Yorkshire pudding was amazing and the haggis bon bons for the starter I would highly recommend them and the roast beef dinner was just simply outstanding and either the chocolate fudge cake with ice cream I'm told was outstanding and I personally really liked the cheesecake of the day was simply out of this world and the service team could not have been any better and we would like to point out that the service team could not have done anything better and made us feel really appreciated and I will definitely be back and I will recommend this place as it's definitely a place to go for a great little hidden gem 💎 thank you so much for your great food and great service team 😀

Amazing food, sometimes you go to a place and at least one of the courses isn't great, not here, 3 of us want, we had 8 different things between 3 courses each, everything was fantastic. They even accommodated for my teenage son who wasn't keen on the hogmanay set menu which we weren't aware of when we went. Highly reccomended.

We visited the Bistro on the 15th December 2021 for lunch.We were a party of four the food and service was very good but when we received our coffee the waitress returned to tell us she required the table as there were people waiting for it.We had booked for 12noon and the time was 1.50pm which is not a long time for lunch.We are elderly folk and as I was the only male in the company I did not say anything as my friends said it was ok.I did not think so.If they had told us when we booked the table that it was for two hours we would have had the option of going elsewhere for lunch.Not a nice ending to our lunch.DA.

Seven of us ate here tonight for my husband’s 70th birthday. Five starters, seven mains and three desserts, and not a single complaint. The food was excellent, as was the service. And really good value. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

Meal was disgusting. Stir fry floating in black bean sauce even though not what the menu said. Inedible. Steak chabatta had hardly any steak n sauce was gravy not pepper
